Kyonis smiled faintly as he tapped his sore feet to the beat of the banjo player, and applauded as the woman, dressed in a flowing red gown, departed from the stage. A violinist approached the stage, and began setting up for her performance. The stage lights were turned off as she prepared for her show, and the room suddenly became loud with chatter; it was open stage night, and many had turned out to see the performances at The Broken Strings tavern in Cascadia. Kyonis absentmindedly toyed with the salt and pepper shakers sitting atop the blue tabletop, his hand glowing faintly from the fire burning inside an opened glass jar.
It was getting late, yet Kyonis had no wished to go to bed. He was in a joyous mood; after many months, Kyonis had finally been able to return to Imythess. The needs of a family member in a faraway land had drawn Kyonis's attention. However, he was now able to enjoy the atmosphere he had come to see as being his home. Much had happened in Kyonis's absence, and Kyonis truly did not know how he was going to survive. The banker Kyonis had left his money with before leaving had died, and robbers had taken everything he had. Kyonis was left with nothing. However, these thoughts were pushed from Kyonis's mind when the next performer began to play the notes of her violin piece. This was Kyonis's first night back. He would not spend it worried. Instead, he wished to enjoy his return to Imythess.
The violinist was soon accompanied by a woman's vocals. The stage lights all focused on the singer, her blue robes radiating sparkling lights about the room. The blue of her dress was the same color of which the stage curtains were composed of. She sang of a dead loved one, and the loneliness that remained in her heart. Kyonis could feel the woman's pain. He had spent the last months in solitude, and was now alone in Imythess. It seemed he was destined to be alone. Would it truly be too much would the gods allow Kyonis some company for this one night? Kyonis did not want to be alone on his return to Imythess.
Olath entered the tavern as quietly as he could. He didn't enjoy drawing attention to himself. He opened the door of the tavern with caution as to not draw anyone's gaze upon him. He entered the tavern and closed the door. A few people in the tavern looked over to the newcomer, but returned their attention to the woman on stage. Olath had enjoyed his stay at Cascadia so far, and hoped that it would continue. He had heard that The Broken Strings tavern was the best in Cascadia, if not the only tavern.
Looking for an empty seat, Olath only found one, and there was a man already at the table. Hoping for another option, he looked around again, but found nothing. Desperate to rest his legs from traveling around all day, Olath walked over to the table, and took a seat. The lich looked over to the man.
"You do not mind if I set here, do you?" He asked. Olath didn't honestly care what the man was going to say, Olath would sit there anyway, but wanted to appear polite, despite his dark attire.
The soft melody of the violinist’s routine came to her ears atop a building just across the street. Her eyes were shut and her head titled back while her legs lay folded indian style before her. Her hands rested on her knees and her long ebony hair danced in the wind with the floating music. She felt the parts of her dress being picked up ever so lightly. The melody had been mystifying and had brought her from meditation.
Her eyes slide open slowly and she felt her head fall from its incline to let her icy white iris gaze stare across the street and at the tavern. She blinked the song was so beautiful to her and she felt uplifted. Her light gray pupils seemed distant. That violin was so familiar, and yet so distant. She smiled and rocked back and forth to the music for a moment before finally standing and walking across the rooftop towards the side of the building she looked down into the alley and jumped landing with a soft thump of her boots hitting the ground. She glanced around and then made her way across the street dodging people as best she could. Then up the stairs and into the tavern she went, pressing past the door she stopped just inside the door and blinked to allow her icy white iris’ get a grip on her surroundings. Then smiling she looked towards the stage and watched the Violinist bow out the notes with such precision. She smiled and then glanced around for an empty table and made her way over to it. She slides into the chair and smiled waiting and listening. -I could get myself into serious trouble here…- She thought but then brushed away the thought. Then turned to glance around the room. Her eyes landing on a few strange peoples and then gliding past, she also noticed herself checking to see if anyone was watching her.
-Heh no one even realizes- She shivered some when she saw someone sitting in the back reading a book silently to themselves. She was reminded of what she had discovered at the Taras Library. She sighed out and found her eyes had landing on a man, she looked over him for a few minutes. He seemed to be lost in the music like she had been only seconds ago. She brushed away her ebony bangs though and smiled some seeing someone had asked to sit with him she brushed away her ebony bangs and returned her gaze to the stage. And slowly she felt herself being swept away once again.
