Title: To put away the past.
Jhin - December 14, 2004 10:06 PM (GMT)
The waves crashed upon the soft sandy shore, a breeze blew towards the setting sun over the water. There sat a figure, letting the waves crash upon his feet as the colors of the rainbow were painted before him. Colors of blue, pink, purple and yellow. Colors that would make you stare until the darkness swept over them and you knew no more of them. I'm sure you've already figured out who the figure is. Jhin kneeled by the edge of the shore, staring with his menacing red eyes at the colors of the sunset. His white hair seemed to be blowing violently away from him as he kneeled. His long shadow and clothes casted away from him as well. Thinking he was quite alone he started to sing. I'm sure you wouldn't understand him if I told you what he sang, it's partly in Elvish, but I will tell anyway..
"You told me, my love, lle would ten'oio be ed' my side. But, alas, lle have wanwa tuulo' my sight. amin have searched an ar' wide. But, amin am sure amin will see lle au' tonight."
His voice like most elves, beautiful. But, sorrow went into it, for he remembered past memory. He finished the song, not able to go on. He sighed, closing his eyes and breathing in the salty mist of the air. There lay by him his bow and arrows, wrapped up in his green cloak. He knew he must put the past behind him and look upon the future. Nahil would've wanted him to, and so would Meera.
Nightgazer - December 14, 2004 10:27 PM (GMT)
Meera sighed, laying her head upon Enzo's soft neck. The sunset was so peaceful. She watched as the streaked lines seemed to dance as swiftly as the flames upon Enzo's back. The soft thump of her heart could barely be felt by Meera as she closed her eyes and thought of the many places that she had been and people she had met. She remembered when she had first had to speak drow with another person. She was a bit rusty but still knew most of the words. She sung to herself a small song in drow, "Ussta xukuth wund'akhen ulu l' qu'mados, ol's shiny uuthli niaren lar delmah, Usstan swim doeb gaer vel'drav Usstan qualla, lu' visit ussta delmah tarthe dal delmah." When she finnished, she was just happy that she had remembered it.
She slid up into a straight sitting position as she streched and yawned, for the moment not noticing Jhin who sat not too far down the beach. When she finnished streching, she turned to the side and out of the corner of her eye, she saw Jhin. Her smile became brighter and she softly nudged Enzo to go to him and stood still as they made their way over. When she got there she said softly "gu'e" then corrected herself, realizing that Jhin might not know drow, she said "hey" and dismounted Enzo, sitting down beside him.
Jhin - December 14, 2004 11:09 PM (GMT)
Jhin's red eyes opened, looking over to Meera. He smiled, putting his past in the dark corners of his mind for another day. He heard her sing, knowing that song quite well. Many thought him as a drow or dark elf at times. It was of his stature. But, who wouldn't think him evil? He didn't always look as thoughtful and good as he used to. He was born strangely, people thought he had a curse upon him because of his white hair and menacing red eyes. They thought 'surely no good would come from this child' and the village had got word. They tried to put his name to a prophecy told long before about one who would wear a face of the devil and a heart of gold, but not many believed the prophecies of that one anyway. He watched from the corner of his eye as she went and sat down by him.
He knew of what she had said. "Vendui, ussta abbil, dosst ssivah zhah 'zil ssin'urn 'zil ol zhahus 'zil natha dalhar. Ol reminds uns'aa d' bwael draevalen.." Jhin smiled at her. "Usstan zhaun d' ilythiiri. Usstan inbal alus mzil k'laren lu' spoken mzil xanalressen. Lu'oh inbal dos tlus? Bwael Usstan kestal.." He watched her quietly, the sun fully set by now and the moon starting to rise.
Nightgazer - December 15, 2004 08:15 PM (GMT)
Meera smiled as he spoke to her. She turned her head to him and said "Usstan inbal tlus ves bwael wun ywrazz lu' Usstan bel'la whol dosst comment pholor ussta singing ability. Ol 'udtila naut vost ulu amaze uns'aa nindel dos zhaun ilythiiri. Dos brorn uns'aa mzild lu' mzild 'zil Usstan ragar doeb vel'bol dos inbal tlus phor yol Usstan zet. Vel'bol plynnen dos harl ghil a l' qu'mados? Relaxing, mayoe?" She shrugged her shoulders then lay back in the sand with her arms across her stomach. She looked up at the beautiful sky and breathed, loving all of the time that she had spent on this such sweet earth.
Jhin - December 16, 2004 12:02 AM (GMT)
His eyes wandered to the sea again, sighing quietly. He leaned back on his arm slightly, watching the darkness take over the sky. "Dos inbal tlus ussta abbil whol mzil drasven. Usstan orn'la naut tesso dos jalbol drill l' aster.." His eyes then looked over to Meera quietly. "Ol uriu tlus natha verve while yol Usstan inbal spoken Ilythiiri, ji Usstan orn'la naut tlu suprised ka F'sarn rusty.. Dos telanth Ilythiiri mzilt?" He asked quietly. When they were little they mostly only spoke english or elvish, never Drow. Then again, not many children knew more than two languages. "Usstan inbal naut nym'uerus dos telanth ol p'los nindol zhah ele Usstan joros. Usstan inbal, wun ywrazz, tlus telanthaad ol whol natha while.. Nahil keer uns'aa natha verve while ago.." He stopped, remembering she never had known about his long forgotten marriage. "Nahil..." He paused, looking at the ocean. "Zhahus ussta 'ranndi.." He said quietly.
Nightgazer - December 18, 2004 08:13 PM (GMT)
Meera sighed and said "Wun udossta mzil drasven nindel udos inbalus naut keffal eachother, Usstan picked phor nindol xanalressen. Usstan fridj liked l' i'dol nindel weth xan'ss sounded. Usstan tlun probably natha leza rusty 'zil al ji xun naut satiir nindel dos ph' maglust." She listened silently as he spoke of Nahil. A slight wind ruffled her hair as her eyebrows raised high in curiousity. She said "Usstan xunus naut zhaun nindel dos inbalus muth dos ligrr. Xun tesso uns'aa lu'oh dos tha? Usstan zhaun whol dos nindel il z'klaen inbal tlus l' llieh uss. Vel'drav dos zhahen younger, Usstan ajak dos tluin henotep l' er'griff uss vel'uss xunus naut inbal natha ssinssrigg. Al d' heen Usstan kat usbyr, drill nindel's naut l' mon'tu." She smiled, not knowing of the true reason why he acted so sad. Since she hadn't known that he had a wife in the first place, she couldn't have known the way that his wife died. Her innocence may have not been on purpose. But it was certainly digging deeper into Jhin's past.
Jhin - December 18, 2004 09:44 PM (GMT)
He looked at her quietly, hearing the words but not understanding everything she had said. He was in a trance, so many things on his mind that it was hard to figure out what exactly he was thinking about. It was hard seeing Meera again, to not have her know every single part of his life anymore. He stepped out of hls trance to meet the real world once more. "Ol's terini'nestg lu'oh udos zuch ragar udosstan phor xunin l' toha valyrinen d' klezn tangis' vel'drav udos ph' maglust.." He was quiet for a long time, listening to Meeras questions. He knew that if he cried he would be admitting his undying sadness, and he didn't want to admit that fact. All the questions made him want to never speak again if it kept him from having to answer. "Siyo, Usstan usieva dos gumash telanth nindel.. A mzulst Usstan ssiggrin il zhahus llieh.. Udos tha uss tangi a nindol ves k'lar lu' huthin klez Usstan zhaunau udos zhahen vellupala." He stopped, memories flooded his mind, and every part of his body ached.
"Drill, Usstan tlun talintha nindel nau uss zhah llieh.. P'los udos tangis' llaar inbalus udossta sel dro ul'naus foluss elggen ilta.. Usstan tlun naut zhaunus ele il inbalus ulu el. Usstan tlun naut zhaunus ele Usstan inbalus turned ussta rath qua'laen bwael p'luin nindel.." His eyes stared at the horizon quietly. "Usstan elggen l' nesst vel'uss elggen ilta.. Usstan turned dal ussta supposedly llieh dro.. Usstan xunus naut tangis' joros ele." He did not dare look back at her. He was in shame, for he knew killing without knowing was just as bad as the person who had killed her.
Nightgazer - December 19, 2004 08:13 PM (GMT)
Meera listened quietly as a good friend would do, as Jhin confessed his true reason for sadness. She gasped as he got to the part when Nahil died. She placed a hand on his shoulder in consolence. She said "Usstan tlun ji taudl, ol z'klaen inbal gukluth ji kke d' uns'aa tlu jorosin jal d' nindyn erg'lesen bauth ilta while dos inbalus ji mzilt jiv'undus witheld wu'suul d' dos. Usstan tlun deeply wun roesor whol dos. Ol z'klaen inbal jivviim ji mzilt." Then she listened to what else he spoke about her death. She listened as he confided to her that he had killed the man.
She, unlike another person, did not back away or feel any differently about her friend. Instead, a deep surge of identification. She herself had felt almost exactly the same feeling of guilt. She said "Jhin, dos zhal'la naut beat ji harshly pholor dosstan. Dosst tejmook'cinkjuu 'zil dos elggen ukta, zhahus doeb d' tu' kor'inth lu' roesor. Usstan tlun zhaunus nindel jaluss else orn'la inbal xunor l' toha ka nind zhahen wun dosst toha ussgyot." What she said was the truth. She hoped that it would be somewhat comforting and she did want to comfort him, but she knew that he was strong enough for the truth. She would not speak to him lies that only a small child would need. This was, instead, the real deal.
Jhin - December 19, 2004 11:06 PM (GMT)
Jhin looked at Meera quietly. "Dos kat zhaun.. Xuat tlu taudl whol uns'aa usbyr.." He said quietly.
"Ol jivviim.. Ol orn mal'rak jivviim uns'aa.. Drill unnslith Usstan inbal naut ssiggrin bauth ilta streea 'zil mzilt.. He said, looking at the waves. "L' guilt zhah ussta lesson.. Usstan shlu'ta'naut vrine'winith cruprou usstan, ka Usstan crupowl ol pholor raw emotion Usstan orn'la tlu natha uln'hyrr 'zil al 'zil natha theif d' dro." He paused, his hand falling to his knee. "Usstan tlun naut supposed tlu jaluss else.." He said quietly. "F'sarn supposed ulu zhaun vel'bol F'sarn naut supposed ulu xun.. He said quietly, looking back at her. "Drill nin ol kluthak nindel Usstan inbal xunor l' uss klez Usstan vowed neitar ulu xun. "Usstan bel'la dos whol dosst conamori though, ol mumbaron uns'aa nindel dos xun naut kluth talinth myar d' uns'aa.."
Nightgazer - December 20, 2004 08:47 PM (GMT)
Meera smiled and listened quietly. She too had always looked up to Jhin's father. She knew him to be a very respectable man. She too could almost feel his pain and anguish at himself as he spoke. She was happy that he noticed that she liked him for who he was. She said "Jhin, Usstan inbal izwin dos whol l' longest draeval. Usstan orn'la inbal neitar ssiggrin d' dos talinth nindel Usstan orn'la dislike dos whol jala sanrr. Vel'bol dos xunus 'udtila naut affect l' i'dol nindel Usstan grew phor xuil dos. Usstan zhaun l' seke Jhin lu' udos orn'la naut inbal doera zhennu abbilen ka dos inbalus tlus nindol i'dol dosst gordo dro."
She smiled at him, hoping it made him feel better. She knew Jhin as the kind respecting man that he was, not as the man that he himself thought of. After his one simple wrong deed, wich any person may make, he labels himself as cold hearted and evil. But the many who had known him for as long a Meera had, would see past that into the warm and caring heart that Jhin really did have.
Jhin - December 21, 2004 01:11 AM (GMT)
He listened to her words, eyes looking at her familiar face. "Siyo, ol zhah seke nindel udossta folggash uriu alus areion mzil drasven. Usstan kestal ol neitar fades. Fridj p'wal Usstan zhahus nindel 'zil natha dalhar 'udtila naut hass'l F'sarn zuch aluin tlu nindel vassnti lotha dalhar..." He looked at his feet that seemed to be burrowing under the sand. "Orn dos telanth nindel vel'drav udos ph' bekea dal udossta drasven? Usstan ortelanth nindel dos xun naut deceive uns'aa whol ussta sake.." He looked at her again. "Drill, t'yin Usstan xun naut talinth d' dos d' rin'ov galla ulu deceive.." He said and smiled gently.
"Usstan zhaun Usstan plynn klezn ichl harshly a draevalen drill Usstan shlu'ta'naut xxizz ol.. "Naut tangis' l' uss l' rumunasin belbaus uns'aa..." He said this a little quieter. "P'wal Usstan xunus naut tesso l' gordo aster ulu Kli.." He said. "Usstan zhaun Usstan tlun leading harl natha olath menvis d' verin, xor a mzulst nindel zhah vel'bol Usstan satiir Usstan tlun xunin.. Dos, Usstan tlun zhaunus, inbal z'lonzic ulu guy'ya xuileb ussta maunechen."
Nightgazer - December 21, 2004 08:38 PM (GMT)
Meera said "Usstan zhaun Usstan tlun leading harl natha olath menvis d' verin, xor a mzulst nindel zhah vel'bol Usstan satiir Usstan tlun xunin.. Usstan neitar used ulu ulnar, drill nin klezn ph' getting doeb d' control." He looked back at her. "Usstan tlun taudl.. Usstan zhal'la naut tlu putting nindol pholor dosst vrunen. Dos, Usstan tlun zhaunus, inbal z'lonzic ulu guy'ya xuileb ussta maunechen." She smiled. She believed in peace and equality. She truly did not want Jhin to have to pay for his act. Many people act rashly without thinking. But they had to pick poor Jhin who would never forgive himself. Meera stood up, for her foot had started to fall asleep.
She reached out a hand to help Jhin stand up as well if he wanted to. She looked out towards the sunset and said quietly "Usstan talinth nindel jal nindel ph' veir ulu dos, orn'la naut satiir nindel dos inbal comitted natha mithuth khurzon d'lil nota'man. Nind orn'la evagna dos lu' orn'la inbal dos alu pholor xuil dosst dro. Talinth d' vel'bol Nahil orn'la inbal said." then turned back towards him with a half smile on her face.
Jhin - December 31, 2004 04:57 PM (GMT)
He listened and looked at her quietly. He took her hand and got up, even though he didn't need her help in it. He knew it would be rude otherwise. He then let go, looking out to the waves once more. "I will do that." He said, not bothering to use drow language. "Thank you for your time and company. It has been a help to me, even though I fear I will never understand some things." He kissed her forehead in graditude. He did this before, it seemed to usually signal his goodbye and thanks. A ritual you might say. "I'm afraid, though, that thinking of what Nahil might say may make me worse than I already am. Because she would look down upon my ignorence even if she did not say it outloud. We were together for almost fifty years before we married, and like you I knew her inside and out. She wouldn't have liked the idea of me on a rampage." He said quietly.
Nightgazer - January 2, 2005 03:50 PM (GMT)
Meera nodded used to Jhin's goodbye ritual by now. She said "I must admit that she would not have liked it, but if she truly was as you speak of her today, she would of still loved you through it" and smiled. She hoped that she was judging the character of Nahil rightly because all of this would have meant nothing to Jhin and it would only remind him more of her. She sighed, the smile leaving her face. She was very stressed out. She had much to do in the last few days and little time to rest. She sighed placing her hands upon her face and rubbing it as if trying to rub the stress lines away, even though she knew beforehand that it would never work. She removed her hands and set them down on Jhin's shoulder. She really needed to do something else to occupy her time. She said "I hope that we may catch sight of eachother again. It has given me a lot of hapiness to see you once more. I hope that I have helped you and I hope life does not give you any more troubles." She smiled weakly and looked back up at him.
Jhin - January 2, 2005 09:40 PM (GMT)
"Thank you again, Meera, you have always comforted me in my troubles." He said with a light smile. "You are right about Nahil, though you didn't know her as well as I." He watched her quietly. "Are you okay? You seemed a bit stressed from something untold.. I was going to go, but I will of course stay if you wish to tell me." He grinned, listening to her. "I feel that we will see each other again, we have always been close friends and we seem to almost share a mind at times.. I mean, how else would we both end up in the same place all the time?" He said, hoping it would make her feel better. "I do hope life doesn't give me any more troubles either, but I'm afraid life is full of troubles and obsticles. I'm afraid it will never get any more easier than it already is, but I wish you well." He grinned softly and gave her a small hug. "And remember to never change for anyone." He said.
Nightgazer - January 3, 2005 09:04 PM (GMT)
Meera said "ah, I won't bother you with my own stresses that life brings me. We all must solve them on our own time. I can deal with these few small things" and she smiled. She looked up at him, for he was a bit taller than her. Then she continued with "There is no doubt that our paths will cross again, but I feel that it is too soon. I have only just rediscovered you and we both are going through many emotional changes. I just feel like you are the only one who truly understands me at this point." she looked away for a little while and whistled for Enzo, who came and galloped up to her. She placed one of her hands on his withers and turned back to Jhin, giving him a weak smile with a faint sparkle in her eyes.
Jhin - January 17, 2005 12:51 AM (GMT)
"Of course you need to deal with some things on your own time.. I wouldn't help much anyway.." He said with a nod. "I have a feeling that the reason we were to meet again is to help each other to find each others future whether we will be friends for a lifetime or not." He dug his boot into the earth at just the thought of one day not being her friend, but he knew that anything was possible in this life. "If you ever want to talk you know I'll be around.." He smiled. "Just follow your instincts.." He said quietly. "I guess I'll see you again somewhere, sometime.." He said and looked at Enzo. "And you as well.." He said before looking at her eyes quietly. "Until next time.." He said with a quiet, weak smile, before taking a step away from the horse so Enzo could ride off without running over his feet.
Nightgazer - January 17, 2005 12:40 PM (GMT)
Meera said "as destiny unwinds itself, we will see what comes to pass. When our futures unfold, we have no choice but to ride along. If it happens that our futures meet somewhere along that desolate place, I shall be most happy, but if not...." and she trailed off. She did not wish to think that she wouldn't be seeing Jhin again. That could have been possibly the worst thing that could ever happen to her. A part of her life would be missing and unable to be filled. Meera jumped up onto Enzo and renewed the broken smile on her face with a fresh bright one. She entwined her hands in his feiry mane and looked back at Jhin. She bent down low in her seat for one second, then went back up, as a half bow to Jhin. With that done, she said "until next time, my good friend Jhin." and nudged Enzo with her boots. As he cantered forwards, she turned around one last time and waved at Jhin, hoping, yet knowing that they would deffinitely meet again.
