Shynthriir had made sure that he had all that he needed, his weapons and a little bit of food to bring along as well, and then he started to get to the coast, and then the shore. The water was lapping at the sands of the beach just as any other day, though he knew that things might change in some way as they started toward the goal, whatever it might be. Luna was to come, though he didn't know how late she would be. He walked over to a rock, and then sat down, leaning against it. He corssed his lags over each other and then closed his eyes in wait.

She was heading that way. She sees him and grins and slowly silently heads behind him. She pops up behind him. "Booo!" She said loudly. She then giggles. "Hiya miss me?" She smiles acting like scareing him was nothing.

Shynthriir heard the steps of someone coming this way, his senses were trained to the point where he could fight blindfolded, footfalls at the beach were not hard to notice. He played along though, and jumped only slighty when Luna came and attempted to spook him. He left his eyes closed though and then said, You made it. I was begining to worry. He paused, thinking of what to say, and then decided, I hope you don't mind the water any. He grinned sliightly as he said it.

She giggles. "No need to worry this little kitty can take care of herself" She smiles and nods. "Im fine with water i can swim pritty good to if need be." She walks close to where the water came up to. "So umm...where are we going any way?" She turned and looked at him her tail swaying around behind her

Shynthriir opened his eyes and then stood up. He looked to Luna and then smiled, And I always thought cats were afraid of the water. He chuckled a little bit and then he walked to the water. He then grabbed his cloak and untied it, letting it fall to the sand. If he was able to get it in the return trip, then he would. He then pulled off his shirt and then started in the water. Follow me, and then you will surely find out. I thought that you might have figured out the rhyme by now, I guess you will find out by now. He then dived in the water and then swam out at a slow pace as to not tire himself.

She watched him and shruges. She jumps in after him and started to swim with him. She grins and swims beside him on her back. "To bad the waters not any warmer." She grins and swims out infrount of him trying to show off her swiming skills. She was actuwaly pritty good at it.

Shynthriir noticed the challenge and was perfectly willing to take it. He grabbed her by her arm to stop her and then said to her, You want to race do you? See that small island down there? He pointed to a small island about a mile or two away. It was a long distance, though it would prove to be best because there seemed to be many obsticles that would be needed to swim around, under, or even getting ourt and climbing over a few things. First one there wins. No magic, no other rules though. Ready?

She grins and nods. "Allrighy big boy ill do it." She got ready "Ready? set? go!!!" She grins and takes off twords the small island swiming as fast as she could twords the first obstical.

The most direct route would first take them both to a huge rock wall which was sticking out of the water. As Shynth got close, he dived under to see if there was a way under it. He got lucky, there was in fact a slight gap about twenty feet underneath the water that was aboutfive feet in diameter. Only one of them would be able to fit through it at once and he meant to be that one. He picked up the pace towards it and once he got close, he dived under water once again, after taking a rather large breath of air.

She sees him go under and then grins. She jumps onto the rock. "Time for my secret weapon" She says with a grin. She opens her hand and a small 2 foot red staff appers. "Power pole...exstend" She points the pole at the ground and it shoots up takeing her with it. She easly goes over the rock and dives back into the water the poll dissapering. She looks back she was now about 3 feet infrount maybe less. "Hey catch up!" She calls and swims off.

She was a tricky one, that was for sure. She was now ahead of him and he wouldn't let that happen. He needed to think of a way to catch up, and fast. It owuld have been nice if he added his magic, but he said that in the rules for this race and he wasn't about to break them. He did have a talent up his sleave. He was able to move far faster than what he was going at now. He was fast by nature, and he picked up the pace, catching up to her before getting to the next obsticle. There was a layer of algee on the surface, a common poison algee actually. Deady to the touch. They would have to swim under it.

She sees it and blinks. "Dang it" She could swim well on the serface tho under water she was a bit slower. She took a deep breath and headed stright down and then swam forward under the algee. Under here he could easly catch her.

Shynthriir took as deep of a breath as he could, though it was not much because he was not a great swimming to begin with, and the added pressure of the race only made it harder for him to bare. He took the breath and then dove under the surfacew of the water. The water was even colder beneath the already chilled surface. It was tolerable though, and he continued on to try to defeat Luna in this exciting race. He had honestly almost forgot the main meaning of the race n the first place, there was a quest to be done here! Though that was later, for the moment, he needed to win. He could not let himself be beaten by her.

He swam as quickly as he could and came up beside Luna. He glared at her with a silly face trying to make her laugh and in turn loose all of her own air. It was the best thing that he could think of at the moment to do, he only hoped that it would work.

She didnt laugh but she did smile. He had just given her a great idea and she swam a bit closer to him. Her tail then came up to the side of her and started to rub his side to tickle him. She ghrins at him slyly.

Shynthriir was in such a playful mood that he couldn't hold it in. He laughed and then lost all os his air. Bubbles came to the surface and he had to follow them as well. As he surfaced, he cursed his ticklishness and then calmed down and then took a deep breath to chase Luna once more. He would get his revenge.

She smurks and keeps swiming. She comes to the serface and take a big deep breath soon after he had to get his breath. She giggles. "Got you!" She smurks again and dives back down and swims on looking ahead for the next task.

Shynthriir finally caught up to Luna once more, they had nearly gotten to the end of the journey though the water, though the last stretch would be tricky. There was a group of jellyfish swimming awefully close to the surface and they went too deep to hold your breath and go under them. You could go around, though it would take a long time, way too long. It was fastest to carefully, very carefully, swim through them and try not to get stung too many times, because if stung too many times, you were sure to fall unconsciece, not a good thing to do under water.

She blinks and snorts. She didnt realy like thoes things they were good eating but kinda bad to be around when thay are alive. She grins and her staff appers into her hand. It wasnt magic since nothing that cancaled magic worked on the staff. She used it to knock them away from her as she swam.

Shynthriir pulled out two daggers which were concealed in the inner folds of his cloak, they were stillettos actually. He held one in each hand and started following suit of Luna. He would stab the goo-like fish and then simply toss it aside and then pull out the blade and continue on. He seemed to be catching up and actually taking a lead on Luna, and this was the final stretch, he only hoped he was able to keep it.

Finally, he broke through and came to the surface of the water.

She watches him go ahead of her and she blinks. She snorts and speeds up. She pops up behid him. "Dang it come back here dont you know your supos to let the girls win?" She swims up next to him.

I never heard anything about letting a cat beat you.. he said jokingly. They ended up in a tie, as a matter of fact, so if didn't seem to matter. They were finally at a small island which didn't seem to be there when they were looking out into the waters from the beach, though he knew it to be there, it was from the poem that was in the book which he read in the library.

She laughs and gets out of the watter. She shakes off a bit and rings out her wet hair and looks at him. "I may be a cat but im also a girl and guys are allways supos to let nice girls win races and such" She grins and then looks around. "So umm...anyidea where to go to next?"

Shynthriir remembered back to when he was at the library. He looked in the direction of the mainland, and it indeed seemed to be endless sand, this was where he needed to be. He closed his ees and recited the words in the poem:


The water in front of him started to buble and then slowly part to reveal a staircase, though where it lead to, he did not know.

She blinks and looks down at th stairs." Wow...now thats cool" SHe girns "Lets go!!" She took off down the stairs and stoped a bit down and looked up at him "Come on slow poke!" She went off down the stairs again wondering what was ahead of them.
