Title: Secluded

Linye - December 5, 2004 07:27 PM (GMT)
It was darker now, darker than it normally was and that signified night. Not that it really mattered, the city’s inhabitants were up and doing whatever it is they did at all hours, both day and night. Creatures moved from here and there, going about their business without a care for any other around them. But then, who really cares about what all those others happened to be doing, it was a waste of time, not to mention boring.. Of course, sitting in The Purple Lantern Tavern was nothing of the sort.

Indigo Ribbon dragged across the wooden table as Linye reached out a hand to fetch her mug, the pieces of ribbon tied about both her wrists to make bows. And she cradled the pewter mug within the confines of her two hands, staring down into it as though mesmerized by the contents; what looked to be wine.

She got a good deal of odd looks from those around her, maybe because of the rag doll sitting in her lap but she either didn’t notice or didn’t care, or a mixture of the two.
“Well Kitsune, isn’t today just lovely?” She’d started speaking and yet, when any looked over to see just who it was she happened to be talking to, there was no one there at her secluded table… Just her and her doll, which happened to have a pair of red fox ears and a red fox tail.
“No, of course you can’t have my wine!” She announced though somewhat softer, fixing her doll with a stare. “You’re too young to be drinking wine, or anything alcoholic for that matter.”

Incubo_Mortale - December 5, 2004 07:51 PM (GMT)
This was Incubo's first visit to the Purle Latenr Tavern. In fact, it was his first visit to Camp Balefire too. It seemed like a perfect place to stay and be clear out of the way from those of light. He swirled around the remaining wine in his cup, sending the aroma of it straight into his nose. It smelled bitter sweet. He sipped some of it. The wine was very sour, just how he liked it. He saw a young woman walk in the tavern. She was about 16 years of age. He had never seen her before, possibly new to the world of Imythess, then again, he wasn't the most informed person in this land. He payed her no attention. He figured she was just the typical adolescent. He sipped some more of his wine, not squinting once because of it's sour aftertaste. Then the girl did something interesting and what seemed to him completely random. She spoke to her kitsune doll. Hmm, I suppose I was wrong... She ISN'T a typical adolescent... He thought to himself. He brought his glass of wine with him as he walked over to the young woman.

"Hmm, what seems you aren't quite drinking age either young one." He gave her a smile. "Hello, my name is Incubo Mortale, a pleasure to meet you." He bowed lowely, and kissed her hand. He didn't quite know why he always kissed the top of woman's hands. He guessed it was just because being around Imythess' atmosphere gave him manners around women. He arose, the same smile on his face.

Linye - December 5, 2004 08:20 PM (GMT)
She looked up as the man, a demon she noted, approached and when she was returned her hand, she absently wiped it against the black skirts of her dress. Not to be rude, she didn’t even seem to realize she’d done it. Anyway, she was in a rather good mood this night so why be mean? In fact, she should start up a conversation! That’d be a grand thing for her to do, just grand!
“I,” she returned loftily, “Am older than Kitsune so it doesn’t matter.” Well, that was a good way to start... Sort of.

She looked down to the doll in her lap, gold eyes meeting fake gold eyes and then she looked back up at Incubo, a bright grin on her face.
“Kitsune said to say hi.. So Hi! I’m Mahea Linye Evanescent but you call Mouse or Linye or Lin. This is Kitsune, she’s mine,” she added, suddenly clutching the doll to her as though to warn off anyone who might be weird enough to try and steal it.

Now freeing a hand from the grasp she held on her doll, she reached out and took her glass of wine again. And then swallowed the rest of the glass in a big gulp. Yup, Linye was definitely in a good mood.

Incubo_Mortale - December 5, 2004 09:02 PM (GMT)
Incubo chuckled softly. "Nice to meet you Lin. As well to meet you, Kitsune." It was tomes like these when Incubo really wished he had telepathic bond... It got very lonesome on long travels, and as for Renor... Well he couldn't really listen to what he had to say... He put to two fingers in his mouth and whistled loudly. It took about two minutes for Renor to come trotting in. He bent down and scratched the back of his neck. "Hey boy, how was your training in the Istan Desert?" Incubo was rewarded with a sloppy lick. He laughed heartily. "This is Renor Xukuth, but I just call him Renor." Renors red eyes narrowed at Lyne, sensing danger. "Renor, korishi ol tir!" Renor looked up at Incubo then laid on his belly, just boredom in is eyes. Renor always thought anyone he met meant trouble. Incubo patted his head and looked back at Lyne. "Sorry, I'm still working on improving his stranger skills. He doesn't trust anyone I meet, except for one person, but she was the one who helped train him." Incubo lowered his glass, allowing Renor to lick the rest of the wine out. "Do you mind if I sit in one of these chairs?"

Linye - December 5, 2004 09:42 PM (GMT)
As Renor looked up at Linye with narrowed eyes, she replied by sticking her tongue out and him and making a face.
“I agree completely Kitsune.. That’s why when I have enough, we’re going to buy a dark umbra.” She nodded, seeming to be in agreement with the doll before she looked back up to Incubo.
“I suppose you can sit down... If you really want to,” she shrugged then grinned. “Of course!”

Linye looked away from him, seeking out a waiter or something of the sort and when she found one she waved them over and asked for a refill of her wine. When they’d left, she turned back to Incubo and looked at both himself and Renor curiously.
“How come you named your doggie Black?.. Not that black isn’t a cool color, because it and purple are really neat and all but, I mean, Seriously.. Why name a doggie black? You should name him Killer.” She nodded again, this time trying to appear wise despite the fact she was rambling on now. “Killer would be a good name, or Death, or Pain or... Flower!” She giggled, absently brushing away a strand of violet-red hair that’d fallen into her gaze. “I think Flower would be a good name for him!”

Incubo_Mortale - December 5, 2004 10:01 PM (GMT)
Incubo laughed. Lyne's almost childish behavior was quie amusing. But it was also sort of releiving. It was like a remedy from the world around him. People these days were always so serious and stressed. It could have been the alchohol talking but in any case it was very... interesting. He sat down in a chair at the opposite side of Lin.

"If I had named him Flower, I'm sure he'd gnaw my leg off." He chuckled. "Black is just short for Renor Xukuth, which means Black Heart. And as you can see..." A loud scream shook the room, as a man's was chewed off. Incubo knew what he tried to do. He was going to smack Renor for annoying him. He thought the man deserved it. Renor trotted back over and laid down next to Incubo. "He indeed has a black heart. As for Killer, Death, and Pain, those names are too common and/or too vague. I'm not saying Black Heart is a unique name, that sparkles with ingenious thought, but it does fit his characteristics quite well." He took a napkin and wiped off Renors blood stained mouth. He picked up his glass and handed it to the waiter as he came with Lin's new glass of wine. "Refill that one as well." and turned back to Linye. "So what about you? What are you going to call your Dark Umbra? Blood, Claws, Reaper,... Sunshine?" Incubo gave a small laugh to his own little joke.

((OOC: Wow, I'm on a roll, I don't think I've typed this much for this many consecutive posts in awhile =P))

Linye - December 5, 2004 11:08 PM (GMT)
OOC: lol, I was thinking the same thing about myself! ^^ of course, now that I think it, my post suddenly gets shorter --;

IC: “I’m not sure,” She admitted with a shrug. As she thought over the possibilities of a name, her head tilted to one side. “Maybe Tama, Talia, or maybe Mhari...” She trailed off, looking down at Kitsune with the appearance of one listening closely. She was nodding but then her eyes widened and she faked a gasp.
“I almost forgot!.. Okay, so I did forget but then Kit reminded me so I didn't forget so I guess I didn't really forget.. Anyway.. Behold, my two most scariest, most terrifying, most shockingly evil poisonous spiders you have ever had the misfortune to meet!” She grinned, and stuck a hand down into one of her pockets. Pulling it back out, she revealed a large poisonous spider, setting him on the table before reaching into another pocket and pulling out a second spider, also male. Both were mainly black but had a shade of toxic green on their backs.
“Meet Mr. Snuggles and Sugar!” Her grin grew wider as she stroked the back of one of the two. “Aren’t they neat?” She then went on to stroke the back of the other before taking up her wine glass and beginning to sip from it.

The two spiders didn’t move much from where Linye had put them, only shifting every now and then.

Incubo_Mortale - December 6, 2004 12:06 AM (GMT)
Incubo laughed again. "My, what a creative mind you have their Lin." He looked at the two spiders and laid his hand down in front of Mr. Snuggles, palm down. He let the poisonous spider scitter along his hand, up his arm, across his shoulders, down his other arm, and off his hand back on the table. He looked down at his hand where deep deep red blood oozed out of a small wound. Some green was also mized in their. The spider must have bitten him while aboarding his hand. "Indeed, he is quite snuggly..." He held the back of his hand up to his mouth, sucking some of the blood and poison out, and spat it on the ground. He repeated the process until the blood returned to it's normal color, and the green vanished. He then put his left hand over his right. It glowed a bright blue and faded. He removed it and the tiny bite mark was gone.

The waiter came back with his glass of wine. He looked unpleasant, like he was fed up with his job. Incubo thanked him chuckleing. "So, about Kitsune, how did you get-" Incubo's words were cut short as a man came up, obviously wanting to cause trouble. He hade a white eye and a long scar running down his forehead, over the eye, and stopped mid cheek. He had a small sickle for a hand and a disfigured ear. "Well, well, well. I guess it's true. Opposites do attract. This guy is, what?, 60?! And you honey bun, your 10?!" the man laughed, immediatly followed by a voilent hacking cough. "Well I suppose you ain't so much opposite. This one's got a little doll, and the other has a little guide dog! Yer both freaks!" Incubo responded.

"Sir, if you value your low down, scum filled, abused life, I'd advise you to either leave this inn, or never return to Balefire again." His voice was icy cold now. The man picked Incubo by his shirt roughly. "What's it to you grandpa?" The man spat out in Incubo's face. Incubo looked down at the man's hand and smiled. He was contemplating whether or not his should slit his filthy throat, or to give Renor an early dinner. "Renor Xukuth! Morfeth zhaunus nindol nesst 'udtila naut guuan phor 'sohna!" the man's expression changed. "What the hell did you just say?" Renor lunged at the man, sinking his teeth into his leg. The man screamed loudly. Incubo then took out his Shadow dagger and slit both the man's wrists. He let go off Incubo and he swiftly cut his throat with his Assain's dagger. Blood spurt every where on him. Incubo wiped his face and sat back down. "I'm sorry you had to see that..."

((OOC: I never thought I'd say this, but sorry this one was so long. LOL =D))

Linye - December 6, 2004 11:00 PM (GMT)
OOC- lol, it’s all right ^^ I’m bored so mine’ll be really long... So sorry --;

IC: Linye watched the man approach their table, distaste marring her features for a moment before she promptly turned her attention away and she appeared bored.
“I agree Kitsune, some people really are butt ugly.” She giggled, not bothered by the man’s cry or his blood. “If I ever had a child such as him-” she flicked a disdainful look at the now dead man, “I’d be more than happy—not to mention willing—to kill him the moment he entered the world.” Again she giggled before looking to Incubo, the smile still visible on her face though she blinked, seemingly confused.
“Sorry for what?” Her head tilted to the side but then her gaze snapped to a table of drunken men who were apparently laughing at the dead man’s fate and at Incubo and herself. Her golden eyes darkened though it was not all that visible in the dimly lit room.

“What?” She finally spoke in a sweet voice, asking innocently. “If you all were my children, I’d have killed you off at birth as well.. You’re all ugly brutes.. Especially you,” she added and pointed towards one of the men at the table. This one actually wasn’t too ugly or that old compared to the others, he looked maybe 23 or so. Of course, that was why she’d picked him, she assuming he’d get mad and attack... Which is exactly what he did.

The young man snarled and stood, walking towards their table as others in the room watched in interest. Linye followed suit and rose and walked forward to meet him halfway but not before she’d carefully set Kitsune down on the table.
“What did you say little girl?” The man grounded out through clenched teeth, glaring down at Linye angrily.
“Say what?” Linye asked, her head tilting to one side.
“You called me ugly!”
“I did?”
He swore and went to punch her in the face but she danced back a few steps, dodging.
“Don’t you know it’s rude to try and hit a girl?” Linye gave him a sweet smile, clearly trying to piss him off and it worked. He threw another punch and she got hit and she was knocked down. He smirked down at her sprawling form but Linye just jumped back up on her feet, smiling at him. “Can we try that again but with you being on the floor this time?” He threw yet another punch at her but she dodged. “Is that the best you’ve got?” She said mockingly as she began to spin in circles around the man. The man in question, stuck out a foot and she tripped, falling to the ground and hitting her head where she promptly lay motionless.
As the man smirked and turned to walk away Linye quietly got back to her feet. She paused only a moment before she lunged at him, grabbing him around the neck and wrapping her legs around his waist. “Piggy back ride!” She squealed. He was surprised but he grabbed her arm and threw her forward. She hit the wall hard but took no notice as she lunged for him again, knocking him over and he fell unconscious as his head hit the ground hard.
Linye sat at his chest, grinning happily at the others around the room.

Incubo_Mortale - December 7, 2004 12:20 AM (GMT)
((OOC: Lol, np))

As soon as the man came to confront Lin he was about halfway up out of his seat when he noticed Lin was already standing. He sat back down to watch as the young girl. He thought that her childish behavior was quite an advantage but could cost her dearly. As soon as Lin hit the ground Incubo stood up and unsheathed his dagger and aimed for the back of the man's head. But Lin stood back up, seeming uninjured. Wow, this girl has quite a lot of spunk... Incbo thought to himself. He watched Lin dodge and duck his attempts of hitting her until she went flying against the wall and lay their, not moving once. His eyes blasted a deep red, but he thought it could just be another game. He calmed down and saw Lin get back up and lunge on his back. Incubo laughed heartly. Lin was the most unique fighter, and person in general he'd ever had the fortune to meet. He looked over to Renor to see he was still picking at the flesh of the man who had just payed the ultimate price for his ignorance. Then before he knew it Mouse was sitting on the mans chest.

"This is shaping up to be quite a slaughter isn't it Lyne?" he called over to the smiling young girl.

Incubo then suddenly disappeared and a man at the table Lyne sat at turned his head violently and a loud snapping crack echoed the room as everyone went silent. Then another man dropped his head on the table, a deep peirce in the back of his head. Incubo then appeared back in the chair he was in, a large grin on his face. All eyes were on him and Lyne now and he didn't think anyone would dare to disturb them again. "Lyne, take a seat. I don't believe we will have anymore interuptions." He cocked his head toward the seat she had sat in before, gesturing her to sit back down. He sipped some of his wine.
