Title: Blindfolded
Shynthriir - December 5, 2004 12:13 AM (GMT)
Shynthriir walked out to the outdoor arena. His scimitars were at his belt and in his hand he held a piece of cloth, a blindfold. He might have been a weapon master, though he was still working to further his abilities. He had seem people fight without the need of sight, once it was an actual blind man who was fighting with ease. It was an art which awed him and he knew he wanted to master the same art.
He walked to the center of the arena and then took the blindfold in both hands. He wrapped it about his head, covering his eyes, and then tied it in the back of his head. Darkness, it was all that he now saw, nothing in his magical powers would allow him to see through this simple cloth, exactly what he wanted to happen.
It toom him a minute to keep himself balanced, but he found it a lot easier than he though. He grabbed the hilts of his weapons and then pulled them from their sheaths slowly. He moved one around in the air to get used to the balace of the blade without his sight, and then did the same with the other, then both at once. He went through slow routines with the weapons. They were basic once, though without sight, they were harder than normal. He worked at getting used to the art for hours, nearly three hours to be exact. By then he had perfected the art, and held just as much trust in his weapons with sight as he did without sight.
All he wanted now was another person, perhaps a student, to work with him. He might be used to the balance of being without sight, but he would need to detect the movements of his opponents with his other senses and that would too take practice.
Fayt - December 8, 2004 04:49 AM (GMT)
Fayt had seen this man walk into the arena and do what he did, so Fayt decided to walk up to the man and ask what he was doing, the man told him and Fayt drew only his blade of air and attacked with an upper cut at the mans side.
(OOC: sorry for this being so short cound not think of anything else at the moment, and sorry I know im power playing but since you alredy said what you want to do I put this (If you would like me to change my post I will)
Shynthriir - December 8, 2004 05:04 AM (GMT)
OOC: It's okay, though it would have been nice if you mae it a little longer, you didn't give too much to work with, oh well. I'll also assume we had our introductions.
Fayt, the man who had decided to challenge him, seemed a little too over confident, though he didn't know which weapon, or perhaps weapons, he was against because he had left his blindfold on. He steadied his scimitars in his hand, knowing that it would be best to take the offensive first and get sued to using his other sensing to detect movement without sight, it would be a good challenge if anything.
He dug his right foot into a ground slightly, the noise from it seemed to ring in his head, his hearing picking it up better than it wouldhave only a few weeks ago. He could smell the man, not that he had an oder. He could hear his steps and almost hear his breathing. His breathing quickened and Shynthriir knew that he was running, the footsteps for closer and he could hear the direction from which they were coming from. The whooosh of a blade slicing through the air was all that he needed to set himself into motion. He was quick, faster then most and that was without magic, only years of practice, he was also just as fast to react. Both natural talents allowed him move his left scimitar up for the attack at what he guessed to be his left side. He then took two big steps back as fast as ever and waited for the next attack. He would need to make sure he was confident in his movement before daring to take the man on at his true offensive power.
OOC: I want to warn you that a lot of things that I do are from my skills and feats, such as my speed, reflexes, battling style (whirlwind attack) and the like, so if you think I am powerplaying just check my list of feats and skills
Fayt - December 8, 2004 05:16 AM (GMT)
Fayt made sure to not make any sound that would let Shynthriir know that he had got hit in his side, though it was a miner wound it was still a wound. Fayt then pulled out his Barbarbains heavy blade very quickly and held both of his sword at his side, and jumped towards Shynthriir front and crossed his arms in an X hoping to get a hit on Shynthriir.
Fayt knew this man was the weapons master at the academy of arms, and he also knew since he was the master there that this would not be an easy fight even though Shynthriir was blind.
(OOC: Sorry hope this helps more than it did last time.)
Shynthriir - December 8, 2004 05:25 AM (GMT)
The sounds got harder to hear, though they were still there. This man obviously couldn't move as silently as others, Shynthriir being one of them for it was another talent he had learned after much practice. It didn't matter though, the sound of a landing from a jump was louder then his footfalls before and the ring of metal told him that two blades were being touched and the sound was comming from above him. He knew the flaw in this, if the two weapons were crossed, then they would only need to be blocked by one weapon. His right arm came up, though this time he went into a new attack.
As his left hand came up, he was already starting to move in his attak routine. His body was rotating to the left as his right hand came up for the black, the scimitar in his left hand leading the rotation. At the clash of the block, his blade touching Fayt's, he was already half way through the rotation, his leading blade heading for Fayt's left side.
OCC: I try to explain things with left anf right well enough so you can picture it and see exactly in your head what I am doing. :D
Fayt - December 8, 2004 05:39 AM (GMT)
Fayt had been wize enough this time to not be hit by Shynthriirs attack. Fayt took a leap backwards to doge this attack, he was very lucky for the blade came very close to hitting him agian.
Fayt then slowly and quietly but his barbarbains blade up, he thought it would be better to fight this fight with only one blade. Fayt then casted the spell "control winds" with the power of his blade of air, he made it to were the winds were blowing in all directions strong enough to block all hearing and made it to were if Fayt were blind then he would not be able to feel any thing like air come at him because of the hight wind.
Fayt came running at Shynthriir with his blade over his left sholder and sliced down at his target. Fayt knew that casting this spell would help him alot in this battle since all Shynthriir had to work with was hearing and touch.
Shynthriir - December 8, 2004 05:52 AM (GMT)
OOC: You want to use magic I see... hm... This might get interesting...
His attack hit nothing and the prepared himself for a counter, though was suddenly almost left off balanced by a shift in the winds, it was with magic. Shynthriir almost laughed at this mistake, if Fayt wanted to use magic, then Shynthriir would beat him there as well. His combat senses* told him that he would need to do something else first though, Fayt was coming and coming fast and he had to lift his blade in a hurry to rid himself of the attack.
Shynthriir was quick to take a step back and then a few more after that. He didn't take the blind fold off, though he looked at where he knew Fayt to be and then said, You introduced the magic, you invited mine. Now, Shynthriir was not a rookie caster either, he was a mage warrior and used his magic to further his blades abilities. He was able to cast his spells without words and without gestures, they were all more powerful than that of a normal spell as well**.
His body gave a slight glow as he cast a spell of haste on himself, though with the extra power in the spell, he would move like a blur***, a lot faster then even his natural speed. Then both his blade gave off a strong white glow as he enchanted them with raw power, and then the stilletto in his cloak did as well. With his telepathy, the slender dagger flew from hsi cloak and started to revolove around him. Your move, were all that he needed to say. He hadn't even started the battle.
*One of my feats
** A list of three of my feats
*** This is what Laoura said would happen with the feat and spell mixed
OOC: Sorry, just wanted to justify things, I always get worried people will say I'm powerplaying... parinoid I guess.
Fayt - December 9, 2004 03:20 AM (GMT)
Fayt had missed agian he knew this was Shynthriirs battle but he kept going.
Fayt had through (cant spell very good) his sword towards Shynthriir and started running towards him, he pulled out his barbarbians blade and through it stright at Shynthriirs chest hoping to trick him into thinking that Fayt was attacking him from his front side. Still runing towards Shynthriir he leaped into the air catching his blade over Shynthriirs head on Shynthriirs left side, he came at him with an over slash.
(OOC: I remember rping with you before I was using Rhoshambo, but anyway you dont have to keep telling me that you are not powerplaying I trust you and I think your cool to rp with.)
Shynthriir - December 9, 2004 03:43 AM (GMT)
OOC: How many characters do you have? Sheesh... Thanks for the compliment though
The stilletto continued to revolove around Shynthriir, and it was a good thing that it was. Shynthriir felt a force hit the dagger, it was slightly harder to move it, there was more resistance. He knew that this was his time to more. He was still unable to see anything, or hear anything, though he could still take the defensive once more and avoid anything he could.
He was moving quickly, his body a blur from the speed, he wasn't even running a great distance, but he moved about thirty yards to his right in what seemed like instintaniously, though it was really just a very small fraction of a second. You can not hit what you can not catch. Is it really this hard to hit a blind and deaf man?
Fayt - December 20, 2004 08:41 AM (GMT)
The words that Shynthriir was saying to Fayt, was angering him so Fayt held his sword up with a firm grip and started charging at Shynthriir once agian, but this time angred.
"I must be able to hit him some how, but how is the question." Fayt thought to him self.
(OOC: only two now, and sorry for not replying for so long i have been doing things out of the game.)
Shynthriir - December 20, 2004 09:43 PM (GMT)
Shynthriir knew that he would be in danger just standing there, he knew that he would have to move soon. He though back to think how far he was from Fayt before he moved and thought how far he was at the moment. He knew that he didn't have long, because at full speed, it would take about two seconds for him to get to Shynthriir. He waited a second and then moved about thirty feet to the other side of Fayt, though he did it in a circle motion so he didn't run into Fayt as he was charging. Oh course, he didn't know if Fayt had even attacked, it was all his instinct.
Fayt - December 22, 2004 03:59 AM (GMT)
Fayt started to dout himself, but he did not want to give up. Fayt knew that Shynthriir was going on instint so Fayt decided to not to attack this time and to see what Shynthriir would do.
Fayt concentratied very hard on Shynthriir hoping to find some way to hit him, Fayt really had nothing else he could do because running at him and attacking seemed to fail every time.
Shynthriir - December 22, 2004 04:35 AM (GMT)
Having a bit of trouble are we? Shynthriir taunted Fayt from his new position. Let us see how you can handle magic far more powerful than what you have seen thus far. Shynthriir cast two more spells to aid him. To his right appeared a creature of fire, a fire elemental. To his left a creature of air, an air elemental. The fire elemental stood proud, its body burning with flames, its fists clenched tight ready to attack. The air elemental stood, though it was impossibly hard to see for it blended in with its own element, the air; it was a blur among the winds. The elementals stood in front of Shynthriir, this act both protected Shynthriir and it also alerted him of where Fayt was standing. Shynthriir turned slightly to face him better. Your move.
Fayt - December 22, 2004 10:39 AM (GMT)
Fayt looked at the creature he saw (fire) appeat next to Shynthriir, he then looked very hard and noticed somthing but it looked like a blur. Fayt had no move at all except to attack, so Fayt ran a Shynthriir's fire element and attacked at it's left arm with a vertical slash, but at the same time strikeing at the blur he saw with a horizanial slash, and trying to drop kick Shynthriir as well.
Shynthriir - December 22, 2004 05:11 PM (GMT)
The summoned creature were there to defend Shynthriir, their master, and that is what they would do, no matter what. It was their calling. The fire elemental saw Fayt charging with his weapons ready and knew what it had to do; the air elemental knew as well. The vertical slash came, the fire elementalhad shifted to try to grab the weapon, keep it away from its masted, in turn, the blade gouged semideeply in his hand, though it felt no pain, he had done what it needed to do; it had stepped right in the path of Fayt. Fayt was sure to get licked by one of the flames which covered the elemental's body. The air elemantal had moved out of the way of the attack, for the attack which was mean for it was altered by the fire elemental and the hit scored on him, though the air elemental didn't know quite what to do, so it moved quickly behind Fayt. It made a fist out of both hands and riased it to back them on the back of Fayt's neck.
Fayt - December 22, 2004 11:43 PM (GMT)
One of the flames on the fire element burnt Fayt on his left arm, and the air element had hit Fayt in the neck but did not knock him out only knocked him down. Fayt laied there for a cupple of seconds trying to focus, Fayt the took his blade of air and made himself front flip up and swing at the air element, but then grabbing his Barbarbains Heavy and swong it at the fire element.
Shynthriir - December 22, 2004 11:54 PM (GMT)
Fayt attacked them both to prevail this time, they both vanished as if they were cast in reverse, both of them desolving in their element. The air elemental blew away in the wind and the fire elemental turned to ash. Shynthriir sensed that they were no longer there and decided it to be time to meet his opponent face to face. He reached behind himself and untied the blindfold, letting it drop to the ground. He looked to Fayt and then commented, You fight well, never let anyone tell you different.
Fayt - December 23, 2004 02:44 AM (GMT)
"Thank you Shynthriir, I will never let anybody tell me different. You are the hardest opponet I have ever faced, If it were a fight to the death and you were not blindfolded then surly I would have lost.
Fayt was happy that he actuly got a git on something that his opponet had in their fighting area, Fayt then sheathed (Spelling check?) his sword and held his hand out waiting for Shynthriir to shake it.
Shynthriir - December 23, 2004 05:29 AM (GMT)
Shynthriir returned his own weapons to their own sheaths and then took Fayt's hand in his own and shook it. What are your plans for now? I don't suppose you would stay here and wait for another challenger, you must be really tired. Shynthriir let go of the man's hand and then looked in the direction of the city of Taras, I don't suppose you would like a drink at the inn in Taras? My treat. Shynthriir let the offer stand and waited for Fayt's reply.
Fayt - December 23, 2004 09:12 PM (GMT)
Fayt smiled he was happy that the weapons master was inviting him to have a drink."Yes I will gladly have a drink with you, it would be a pleasure." Fayt started walking towards the exit of the area, and stood at the door waiting for Shynthrirr.
Shynthriir - December 23, 2004 10:14 PM (GMT)
OOC: Make a topic at the tavern and PM me the link if you want to continue this...
Shynthriir was glad to have made a new friend in this large land, he knew they would hav esome good stories to exchange at the tavern, he knew he had a few, though he enjoyed listening to the stories far more than telling his own. He rushed to keep up with Fayt as they both left the arena as if nothig had happened.
