Title: The Art of a Sword

Shynthriir - November 26, 2004 05:22 AM (GMT)
Shynthriir stood in the center of the grand arena of Taras. He stood alone, the wind blowing at his face which at the moment show now emotion. His hands were at his side, not stiff, but not as loosely as one would think. They hung there controled, as was every other part of the fighter. The only part of his body which was was not controling was his hair, which was dancing in the wind, though even the strands of his hair seemed to have some sort of controled pattern to them. He came to practice the ways of a mage warrior.

A mage warrior, by definition was a form of fighting where the fighter uses magic to empower their fighting, to enhance their swordplay. This was not the case though, if one were to become such a fighter, they would learn the truth of the ways of the kind. To a mage warrior, fighting was not called swordplay, it was art.

Immediately Shynthriir set into motion, his body twirling a complete turn to the left while criss-crossing his hands to reach his twin scimitars, when he completed the rotation, he held to scimitars and was going through a routine through the air. His right blade swung aross to the left high while his left blade was cutting from teh bottom to the right. He turned his body to the right, making his right blade twist in it's motion and his left blade following him in the turn, leading him through to the next attack patten. When he completed the rotation, his right scimitar was faced corectly to make a downward diagonal slash back to the right while his left blade came across the same direction starting low and then curving up slightly.

Suddenly the edges of his blades flared to their true power. A true mage warrior cast their magic with their mind and not their mouth or their hands for they only delayed the end result of the spell. His weapons were glowing with the enchantment cast upon them causing their motions to be seen for about a half second after the weapon had passed, this was the art of a sword. His routines drew pictures in the air, creating a specticle that few had the chance to witness.

After about half of an hour, Shynthriir stopped and dropped the enchantment from his weapons, then placed the blades in their sheaths. He looked around to find that there was someone that had been watching him, though he didn't know how long. He simply turned and smiled.

Fayt - November 26, 2004 05:43 AM (GMT)
Fayt had been board so he wanted to go down to the talas arena and see if there was anybody there to either train or talk with even though if he trained with somebody he would probly loose because he was still weak and not experinced in battle. When he arived he saw a man in the center of the arena doing something with his swords. Fayt was entertained by how the man made his swords glow and made these arts with them. When the man was done he saw Fayt and smiled, so Fayt came over to the man and asked him how he made such art with his blades. "excuse me sir but how did you just do that with your blades?"

Shynthriir - November 26, 2004 05:47 AM (GMT)
Shynthriir nodded in repect to the man and then thought of how best to explain the answer. He ran his slender fingers through his long white hair and then spoke, I fight with both magic and weapons, what you saw was the result of combining the spell commonly known as enchant weapon with attack routines learned after much practice. Shynthriir looekd the man over and saw that he had no weapon, Are you a wizard? You carry no weapon. Shynthriir didn't know why a warrior of any type would walk around with a fighters only friends, the only things that a fighter could depend on, their weapons.

Fayt - November 26, 2004 05:57 AM (GMT)
"I do have a weapon but it is nothing great it's just a plain long sword. I know it's not safe to go around with out one but I left my weapon at the room I am renting at a tavern. I know not why I left it at the tavern but I do know it's there and not here with me right now. So why are you here in the area making art with your weapon at this time of night? By the way my name is Fayt." Fayt then just stood there waiting for this man to reply.

Shynthriir - November 26, 2004 06:03 AM (GMT)
Shynthriir bowed to the man, And mine, is Shynthriir. Shynthriir looked up to the night sky, the stars twinkling as they always did, and then looked back to Fayt Is the show not more a splendor to see at night? During the day the glow of the blades is not quite as strong, or at least seems to be more overpowered by that of the sun's own light.

Shynthriir didn't come just to practice though, he knew that if he meet someing willing, he would offer a chaenge to fight, though he didn't enjoy withing with only one weapon, he suposed that if he were to find a good friendly duel, he would have to sacrifice one of his own. Would you can for a duel? You can borrow one of my scimitar, which I will light up to make the duel a little more interesting if you want. Shynthriir pulled out his left blade and cast the enchantment on it which made the blade glow once more, he then flipped it in his hand, cought it by the top of the blade, and offered it to Fayt.

Fayt - November 26, 2004 06:13 AM (GMT)
Fayt could not just let the Shynthriir down he was quite new to this but he still accepted Shynthriir offer. He took the blade from Shynthriir and put it in his left hand. He then walked to the other end of the arena and yelled to Shynthriir." Ok here I come." and like that Fayt started runing at Shynthriir at let out a over cut.

Shynthriir - November 26, 2004 06:18 AM (GMT)
Shynthriir had more to him that he had shown. He was twice as fast as a normal man and had refleczes which were twice as sharp. The every moment he notice the movement of Fayt's arm, the one which heald the weapon of course, he was set in motion, his sword moving impossibly fast. When the blades met in midswing, though it was far earlier than the middle of Fayt's swing, Shynthriir smiled at the man and informed him, You might wish to know that trainers of the acadamy of blades are quite hard to match in the art of weapons.

Fayt - November 26, 2004 06:24 AM (GMT)
"You are a trainer at the academy of arms? Is that not a academy that trains with weapons?" Fayt was still a little new to this whole side of the world he was used to the marshes and the plains. Fayt then drew his blade back from Shynthriirs blade and tried to hit Shynthriir with an upercut.

Shynthriir - November 26, 2004 06:29 AM (GMT)
Again, with the sight of motion from Fayt's loaned weapon, Shynthriir was already in action. He had more skilled not shown to the man yet, he had so many skills that it might go on for a long time. He tumbled to the side, tucking neatly into a ball, his weapon spinning flat against the ground so it wouldn't hinder his roll. He was up to his feet as fast as he left the, leaving the uppercut to hit nothing but air. You are correct, you seemed to know more or the lands that you think

Fayt - November 26, 2004 06:35 AM (GMT)
Fayt was a little eritated that he could not hit Shynthriir but he also thought that this whole thing was fun, and to Fayt thats the whole part about a duel was the fun in it. Fayt then fliped the blade to were it was facing at Shynthriir and launched himself backwards.

Shynthriir - November 26, 2004 06:38 AM (GMT)
Shynthriir, still working strictly on the defensive, didn't quite expect the attack, it was a decent one though, nothign to complain about. Only did his lightning reflexes and great agility helped him this time, though they seemed to always be saving him. His sword matched his and both weapons locked to the hilt. You are learned as I speak, a good fighter dwells withint you, all you must do it find it.

Fayt - November 26, 2004 06:47 AM (GMT)
Fayt then steped a bit foward enough to let him move the blade he held. As soon as his blade was free to move he held it to his side and spun around in a half circle (180) and tried yet agian to hit the incredibly fast Shynthriir. "thank you Shynthriir I will try to find the fighter in side me but your holding back on me big time and that means even if I learned how to use this blade better you still have the upper hand." Fayt had said before he had steped foward to attack Shynthriir agian.

Shynthriir - November 26, 2004 06:53 AM (GMT)
Shynthriir pushed slightly on Fayt's weapon so as to keep him from attacking as he stepped back out of the weapons' reach. He then held the weapon he had in his own hand up to his face, the glowing lit it up and he again smiled. Did I ever say that you would? Press on my friend, only then will you grow in your talents. Shynthriir then went to his own attack routine this time, not one that was fast, for he would easily out pace the man, but one that would easily keep him on his heels, though he made sure to not press on hard enough to injure him. His sword went up and out to the side, then as Shynthriir strided toward Fayt, the sword started it's motion, up higher and then it quickly came down before comming back up and towards the man's left side with an attack from below.

((I got the 200 gold i wanted now, :D, want to get the feat empower spell to make enchant weapon all the more powerfull... ~evil laugh~ ))

Fayt - November 26, 2004 07:02 AM (GMT)
It was luck and nothing more than luck that Fayt had pulled his sword down to meet Shynthriirs sword in time. Fayt new whos duel this was but he kept on fighting even though Shynthriir looked like he could do this blindfolded. Fayt drew his blade from his left side and off of Shynthriirs sword so that he could come at Shynthriir with a upercut from Shynthriirs left side this time.

Shynthriir - November 26, 2004 03:16 PM (GMT)
An easily dodged attack, Shynthriir scimitar was in motion as his who body was spinning to the left. His sward block, though it was more like hit, the attacking blade away, but he didn't stop spinning there, he continued the rotation, pulling himself low to the ground which increased his rotating speed and was where he wanted to end up attacking. When he came around, the trail of the glow from his sword still left a complete spiril. His blade went for Fayt's anckles.

Fayt - November 27, 2004 06:04 AM (GMT)
Fayt was to slow to see Shynthriirs attack coming so it hit Fayt and made fall to the ground and cutting his ankle making it were he could not stand on it and making him even slower. Fayt then slowly got up and told Shynthriir. "Your damn good Shynthriir and I relize I am no match for you that is why I giving this match to you." Fayt then handed Shynthriir his scimitar back and thanked him for the duel. Fayt casted heal on himself and started out of the arena.
