Wariness and nervousness were both apparent in her as she slowly, hesitantly crept towards the water’s edge. She didn’t want to go in the water but she definitely needed to. It wasn’t that she was afraid of the water… She just couldn’t swim, she’d never learned how.
Her clothes, a simply brown sleeveless shirt and black pants, were in tatters and they, along with herself, were covered in dirt, mud and in blood… It wasn’t necessarily her own blood but then, it didn’t really matter whose blood it was anymore.. It never did, she just wanted to get clean.
Aideen carefully edged out into the water with a small sliver of soap in hand, moving until it came up to just below her chest and then she stopped. If she was careful, nothing would happen, she’d just have to make sure she didn’t go out any farther. After all, there was no one about that she could see, so if she happened to get out too far and she started to drown, there’d be no one to save her.
She pushed the thought far from her mind and began to scrub, trying to rid herself of the reminds of what happened to her and what she did at night. All the grime was starting to come off slowly, like it was reluctant to let her get clean.
When she’d rid herself of the grime she began to clean her hair, but then she paused and sighed. Looking rather bothered she took a breath then quickly ducked her head underwater and came up just as quickly, her red-orange hair now clean but wet and hanging into her eye.
Meera swam under the water. The lake did not appear as deep as it looked from above but as Meera ducked under the farmilliar waters once again to wash her hair, she did not touch the bottom. She swirling dirt had cleared once she arrived back at the surface of the water and she was able to see how clear the lake was and that it was pretty deep. The water had always intriuged her curiousity and she loved to swim. She was really fast as well. She dove under the water again and swam hard holding her breath, not willing herself to come up out of this wet wonderland. As she swam, she came upon the site of another person's feet. She thought -that's funny, I didn't see anyone when I was back on land.- but shrugged it off, unwary of the hydra that seemed to be following her through the dense waters.
Hearing a noise in the waters, Aideen spun about to face the rest of the lake. She scanned its entire length but saw no one else… That is, no one until she happened to actually look in the waters.
She bit back a ragged yelp of surprise as she saw two shadows progressively getting closer to her and she scrambled back a bit until the water was only to her waist. And then she actually looked at the shadows, one held the shape of a humanoid whereas the other was long and thin and large.. Wait, she studied the two shadows again. Was it just her or did the first not notice the second behind it.
OOC: oy, sorry it took so long to reply and that it’s short.. I’m having a bit of writers block at the moment.
Meera saw the feet step quickly back into shallower water and decided that she was probably scaring the person and it would be mean to just sit there and keep on doing that. She stuck her head out of the water and said "I'm sorry, I mean you no harm." Still unaware of the dangers lurking in the waters behind her. The hydra had sidled up closer and had its head back, ready to strike the unsespecting victim. The hydra would drag her underwater hopefully drowning her then eating sullenly, its meal. Meera, swam forwards closer to the girl to reach the shore and luckily, as she did that, the hydra snaked out for her but missed. Though this wasn't enough to deter it from trying again.
((that's allright, I'm having a bit of it right here too))
