Title: A Wedding[p]
Description: (Privite, invite only)
Veronna Darkblade - November 22, 2004 11:09 PM (GMT)
Veronna was in a back room getting dressed for the wedding. She was quite nervous about all this. She looked at the dress she was wearing, and smiled at how beautiful it was. It wasn't too fancy but it was fine for the occasion. She and Ocar had been planning this wedding for a month and a half or more, now finally it was happening.
Veronna wasn't sure if all of Ocar's family was going to be there or not, but she did know that his older sister was going to help them wed, but she had never met her before.
She looked at herself in a mirror and hoped she looked good enough, and wondered if it was nearly time.
All the benches were already set up, they were made of oak and polished so they looked decent, they were set up in the arena, along the walls. A small wooden alter was placed in the middle of the arena, also made of oak and polished.
Veronna looked at herself again and knew what she was missing, she walked over to a table where some jewelry was placed. She reached down and picked up a diamond necklace and put it up to her throat to see how it looked; which it looked nice, and it added something to her outfit.
Larelle - November 22, 2004 11:25 PM (GMT)
Larelle walked around the arena to make sure everything was okay. When she finished walking around she walked back to the room where Veronna was at. She open the door and saw Veronna standing there, looking at herself in a mirror.
"How is it going?" she asked in a calm quiet voice. She could tell Veronna was nervous, not unusual. Larelle had never really met Veronna, but Ocar had told her a lot about the Drow woman. Larelle wasn't a warrior, but she knew how to use a sword well enough, but she would loose to her brother and would definitely loose to Veronna.
Larelle wore a simple dress, it's sleeves ended at her elbows, but the bell sleeves went down to nearly her knees. It's V neck was laced up, with some black cord. The whole dress was a green, trimmed with black.
Shynthriir - November 22, 2004 11:35 PM (GMT)
Shynthriir had recieved an invitation to this wedding, an honor that could not be ignored easily. He had never been a such a fuction, in fact, he had only heard little pieces of what exactly marriage was, but he knew that if someone such as Veronna invited him to come, he would be best to come along and learn firsthand what it was all about.
He came to a the building that it was all to be held in, the one told about on the paper he recieved for the invite. It was a large building, though perhaps in the eyes of a goddess, it wasn't as large. He didn't know what he was to do, or where he was to go. There was no one else there it seemed, so he just waited outside to see what everyone else would do and then follow their example, hoping that they did know what they were doing.
((OOC: Never been to an RP wedding, hope I'm doing this right enough...))
Ocardonydd - November 22, 2004 11:39 PM (GMT)
Ocar buckled his belt and straghten out his tunic. He took a deep breath in a let it out, hoping all would go well. He wondered if Veronna was ready, though she looked quite nervous whe he last saw her. He walked towards the door and opened it up, and walked out. He walked into the arena and was happy to see how it looked. This is where he would choose to get married, in a battle arena, and thats where he is getting married. He sighed and sat down on one of the benches, still looking around the room, hoping his family would show up, he knew couple of them were coming but wasn't sure if all them were coming or not.
Shynthriir - November 22, 2004 11:42 PM (GMT)
Shynthriir saw a man walk in and decided to ask him what this was all about. He followed him into the arena and then to the bench that he sat down upon. Good evening sir, do you mind if I sit in this seat? he asked while motioning to a place on the beanch that was next to him. I've never been to one of these events, I don't know quite what I'm doing.
Ocardonydd - November 22, 2004 11:52 PM (GMT)
Ocar stood up when he heard someone ask him something, he couldn't believe someone fallowed him and he didn't notice, he must be out of it or something. He turned to the man, he wasn't suppose to be out right now, he was suppose to wait until all the guests arrived. "Umm... Go ahead and have a sit, and just wait until everyone arrives, then everything will get going." He backed up a bit, "I have to get ready." with that he walked back to his room.
Master Ace - November 23, 2004 12:26 AM (GMT)
Master Ace was not entirely sure he should have told his mother about the wedding. Ace had told her about two days before the wedding. Reis did not take it well. Normaly she was was slow and thoughtful, but she soon becam paniac. "Did you get them gifts?" "Are you goind to wear that?" "How am I going to find something to wear?" "What am I going to wear?". Ace had the feeling that she would react little diferently if it were not the wedding of a goddess.
"I should hope you don't wait this long to tell me of your own wedding," Reis laughed softly as they came up to the temple. Reis wore an everagant gown. The gown was decorated with swirled stripes of the rainbow. It came down to her ankles. Her long sleeves covered her dreadful bracelettes that could not come off. Master Ace was not pleased with his appearance. Underneath his white cloak of spiderkind with black web-like patterns, Ace wore robe which Reis outfit which Reis insited was needed. A fancy white shirt and matching pants. This was not was Ace was unpleased with. Reis had made sure that Ace's long wild hair was trimmed to the end of his earlobes and throughly tamed. Ace's green hair was combed back and its tidiness left Ace's two green horns clearly visible.
Ace and his mother slowly walked through the doors. She looked around and was quite pleased with how things looked She had not wanted to see a wedding in an arena, but she found he set-up elegant and to die for. Ace and Reis took their seats. Ace looked about anxiously. He half-heartedly wished to see no one he knew. He didn't quite want anyone to notice his his hair. He would be fixing it back right after the wedding or atleast attempting to.
Shynthriir - November 23, 2004 12:45 AM (GMT)
Shynthriir sat down and decided to wait as patiently as he could. He looked around to find no one else there as of yet and felt a little alone. He looked to the door hoping that someone would come, and he was given a good answer to his wish. Another person had entered the arena, someone that was fimiliar, yet he couldn't place a finger on who it was.
The sight of the man made him feel not as dressed as he should be; this was after all his first time at a wedding. He was only his his normal cloak that he normally wore, though he guessed that it could be worse. The cloak was clean enough and it was black, a decent enough color. He then took off his hood and then reached to pull out his hair from inside the piece of clothing, letting it out loose which made him look a little better than normal.
He again looked to the man that had entered, trying to figure who it was. Then it hit him. He let out a quiet little snicker to himself as he realized it to be none other than Master Ace himself, magister at the acadamy of magic.
Laoura - November 23, 2004 12:58 AM (GMT)
Laoura rode to the front of the temple, Apollo, her celestial steed, trotting with a bit of a jump in his stride. She was not overly dressed. The goddess did not want to deal with an overly intricate dress and knew that Veronna would not focus too much on formalities. Over a white, bell-sleeved blous she wore her leather vest. Her pants billowed out, made of flowing gray fabric. Over this, she wore a white cloak.
She walked into the temple and made her way straight to the arena, where she had been told the wedding ceremony would take place. She was happy for Veronna in finding a husband, but could not help but feel a little distant. The sting of her own lovers' death was still harsh. Laoura would not allow that to make the day a gloomy one, though.
She saw that Master Ace and Shynthriir were there, a couple of people she had seen from afar, but never met. She had been told of Shynthriir's doings by Veronna herself.
Laoura nodded her greeting to them both, before sitting down in the front row, her blue eyes glancing over to the men who were already seated, Ace with his mother, Reis. She was simply watching what they were doing, listening to what they were saying, just out of curiousity.
Sargoth - November 23, 2004 01:48 AM (GMT)
It has been awhile, Goddess, but a lovely day to meet again. Came a whispy but deep voice from beside Laoura.
The vaguely defineable form of a man, more specifically a guardian, shimmered as a desert oasis as it looked outward into the arena. The wavering, golden-hued creature began to take on more natural coloration and the outline of shape began to sharpen. Within moments, Sargoth, God of Day, could be seen atop the front row bench near the Goddess of Night. His normal attire was discarded for the more formal occassion: a white robe with golden embroidery that draped down over the arms and to the floor. It flowed as silk in an unfelt breeze, a graceful if unpredictable dance of the fabric. His hair was well combed, the shoulder-length white strands pulled back into a knot to create a ponytail. It was bad form in his mind to allow a single hair to obstruct the tiniest detail of the event about to unfold.
The guardian leaned toward the woman on his side and commented, "I believe this will be an event not to miss. I am happy to have been invited. I have not seen a wedding in a few hundred years, and I suppose that of a Goddess is particularly spectacular. If I am not mistaken, it is tradition to bring warm wishes and maybe a token of those wishes?"
With the movement of his hand, he began to tap something unseen at his unoccupied side. It would have meant nothing besides a curious use of energy if the nothingness below his palm did not resound like metal being struck with stone.
Astoi - November 23, 2004 03:02 AM (GMT)
Astoi walked up to the temple, where, he hoped, the wedding was going to be, it looked like the description his brother gave him. He walked inside and down a hall, heading to where he heard a few voices. He walked into a room where all the people were, and he could tell it was an arena right away, and he had to chuckle under his breath. He looked around, trying to see if Ocar was hanging around, but didn't see him. He walked by two people, a man and a woman, who both seemed speciel in some sort of way...
He shrugged it away and walked past them, and down a hall, hoping to find Ocar. He walked to a door and opened it; he saw Ocar in it, andhe walked in, a grin on his face.
Veronna Darkblade - November 24, 2004 11:53 PM (GMT)
Veronna turned when a woman walked in and spoke. The woman looked a lot like Ocar, and she could guess it was Larelle, Ocar's sister, one of them at least. Veronna nodded, "It's going pretty well. How much longer do I have to wait?" she asked, getting slightly inpatient. She wondered if everyone was going to show that they invited, she hoped they would.
Veronna turned and looked at herself again, wondering if she should put her hair up or not. She pulled it all back in a horsetail, "Do you think I should pull my hair back, or leave it down?" She asked.
Ocardonydd - November 25, 2004 11:34 PM (GMT)
Ocar turned and saw his brother Astoi standing in the the door way. He smiled and chuckled as he walked over to him. "I'm glad to see you came, I was wondering if you were going to show." He opened his arms and hugged him, but let go quickly, "It has been awhile hasn't it?"
Ocar knew he should have visited his home since he arrived at Imythess, but had got caught up with things and hadn't had anytime to go.
"Do you know who else was coming?"
Larelle - November 28, 2004 11:02 PM (GMT)
Larelle smiled and walked behinde Veronna. She pulled Veronna's hair back and started to braid it, "It will look nice in a braid," she reached to a table and grabbed a ribbon that was there and weaved it in and out of the braid. "It should be soon, and I have to go and be ready by the time you come out, so I guess I'll see you in a minute." With that she started out the door.
She walked down the hall to the Arena, and when she got there she walked up to the alter and stood next to it, looking at all the people.
Astoi - November 28, 2004 11:12 PM (GMT)
Astoi hugged back, happy to see his brother again. "Mom and dad were wondering when you would come and visit, they weren't worring or anything they just wanted to see you. Speaking of which they should be coming today, along with Frelenydd, not sure if anyone else was gonna show..."
He looked around the room, "Quite a nice place Darkblade has isn't it?" he chuckled and looked at Ocar again. "I have a feeling it's going to start soon, so I better go, I'm suppose to help Larelle out a bit..." He turned to look at the door, "Well, don't be late." He walked out the door and went to the arena and when he saw Larelle standing, he walked over to her.
Laoura - November 29, 2004 04:24 PM (GMT)
"It has been a very long while. It is too bad we have not socialized more outside of our duties," she said with a smile, with what might have been regret in her eyes. "Weddings are rather momentous, especially when a deity is involved, or even for Chosen, as when Jhael and Athiyk were wed. That was quite an even as well. As to the tradition of bring well-wishes and tokens, it is a common practice... I bring well-wishes, but I have not finished the tokens," Laoura said with a hint of playful mystery in her voice.
Even as she sat there speaking to Sargoth, her mind was not completely there. She did not have to see the artifact she was making to know how it was coming together, building it piece-by-piece, spell by spell. It would be a true work of art and one of the better artifacts she had created in a long while.
(Sorry for the short-ish post... slight creative block...)
Airie - November 30, 2004 12:41 AM (GMT)
It hadn't taken long for Ciara to arrive at the Temple of Swords, in fact it had been a much shorter trip than she had thought it to be. The dryad goddess came alone, having flown upon Huthi, her pegasus companion. Upon entering the temple, she whipped her wrapped hand in a loose circle above her head. Her eyes watching as her hair, which had been down, was pulled up into a loose twist. Satisfied with the effect, she made her way to the arena, where the ceremony would be held.
Having only heard of Veronna and Ocar, she was unsure of what to wear. Finding herself comfortable in a long artic blue gown, with long belle sleeves, she decided against any sort of jewelry, thinking it only took away from the gown.
Seeing the arena for the first time, she bore a wide smile as she slowly made her way toward a bench seated not far from the Goddess of Night and the God of day, thinking of how pleasing it was to see them seated together.
Balance. Was her only thought as she gently tugged against the white wrappings which had been delicately wrapped around her pale hands all the way up to just below her elbows. Worn today as not only protection, but for fashion as well.
Veronna Darkblade - December 1, 2004 12:05 AM (GMT)
Veronna smiled as Larelle braided her hair, thankful that someone was there to help her out. As Larelle walked out the door she started to get real nervous, she knew what she had to do, and what to do, but she was still nervous. She took a deep breath in and let it out slowly. She reached down and picked up some gloss for her lips and put it evenly on her lips, making them look a brighter red then they really were.
She turned towards the door and started to walk out, her heart beating twice as fast. She closed the door behinde her and turned in the direction on the arena, and straight across from her was another hall, where Ocar would be standing, and so she had to wait a little bit, until she saw him.
Varila - December 1, 2004 11:46 PM (GMT)
Varila walked through the door and into the arena, smiling at the decorations and the crowd that was already forming. Upon seeing three other gods and goddesses already there, she walked over to Laoura. She wore a simple ivory gown that seemed thinner than what she usually wore, with no sleeves at all and long white gloves. Folds of silk were loosely wrapped around her body and her hair was down.
"Greetings, Laoura," she said, and sat down with the night goddess. Of all the other deities, it had been Laoura who she had been away from the longest. There was no particular reason, just the fact that they rarely seemed to cross paths.
Ocardonydd - December 9, 2004 01:44 AM (GMT)
car clasped his hands together, "Well this is it." With that he opened the door and walked out into the hall, and when he saw Veronna standing opposite him, he knew he was a little off in timing. His smile broading when he saw how beutiful she was.
He began to walk foreward, and he could start to see people as he started to near the corner. Many he did not know, but towards the back he saw four people sitting, who he reconized right away, as his mother, father, Frelenydd, and Breniel his sisters, who grinned at him when they saw him, and Frelenydd waved slightly.
Veronna Darkblade - December 20, 2004 02:53 AM (GMT)
Veronna bit her bottom lip when she saw Ocar, and knew that it was time. She smiled again when she saw how handsom Ocar was. When she saw him begin to walk she started also, watching him as she did so. She looked around the room and saw quite a few people there, all she reconized exept for four people towards the back, who she guessed was Ocar's family, well a couple of them at least. She scanned the room again and her smile widened when she saw Varila sitting next to Laoura and Sargoth, she was happy her first true friend was there to see this.
Veronna kept walking until she was in front of the alter and she turned to face Larelle.
Kore Takamura - December 21, 2004 10:42 PM (GMT)
*Late for the wedding, Kore was rushing through the streets to get there before it ended. Never being one for punctuality, he wasn't suprised he ended up in this predicament, but nevertheless, atop of Kamahl, his mighty nightmare, he rode to the wedding, a comb in his teeth and his shirt being fixed with his hand. Several seconds later he grabbed the comb and ran it through his hair, straightening the wet clump as much as he could. When he finished with the comb, he pocketed it and pulled out a band to tie his hair back. Within a few seconds, he got his hair into a clean, but not feminine looking pony tail.
Approaching the entrance, Kore hopped off Kamahl and held his finger to his lips. The nightmare stayed quiet and trotted to the holding area for the horses. Opening the creaking door as softly as he could, he slipped inside and found his way to where everyone was seated. Eyeing Ocar and Veronna already proceeding down the isle, he clenched his teeth and tiptoed his way to a corner, then snuck his way to where there was Sargoth and two ladies. Taking a seat next to one of the ladies, he smiled and looked her up and down. Before he could fully see who he was looking at, he realized who he sat next to. She wasn't facing him so he smirked and got comfortable, nodding to Sargoth and the other lady, then quietly watched the couple experience their last moments of being single and their first moments of life bond they would share.*
Varila - December 29, 2004 04:52 AM (GMT)
Varila smiled back at Veronna when she found herself being recognized. Her eyes were fixed on the couple that was to be married. Both of them looked remarkable, and Veronna looked unusually pretty. In truth, she had never seen Veronna like that, but it was her wedding day, so she figured that it was something special for even her to dress up for.
Seeing Kore sit down next to her, she gave him a dark look when he smirked and then turned back to watching the wedding. Even though her and Veronna had never been the friendliest sorts of people, she still had a respect for the other woman and would be happy to wish her well with this man whom she was bonding herself to.
Ocardonydd - January 12, 2005 07:39 PM (GMT)
Ocar saw Veronna was looking at someone and he followed her gaze and saw a woman who didn't look all that nice, and he wondered how her and Veronna knew eachother. He didn't do much thinking about because he was already at the alter and he turned to face his sister. He was happy to know the person who was going to wed them, it made him feel calmer then he would have been.
(I am sorry I haven't been on for ages :( I have been busy but now the holiday season is over and I hope to be on more)
Varila - January 12, 2005 09:09 PM (GMT)
When Ocar looked at Varila, she smiled and then focused her attention on Veronna. It seemed like it wasn't that long ago that she had first seen Veronna as a goddess in the council, and it had definitely not been long enough since their confrontation. She wrung her hands nervously, wondering why she would be so edgy at a moment when Veronna should have been reacting that way.
After a while, she blamed it on her upbringing and turned to watch the wedding, trying to stop looking so nervous.
Larelle - April 1, 2005 07:27 PM (GMT)
Larelle looked at them both, an encouraging smile on her face, then turned her attention to the audience. She opened her arms in a welcoming gesture. "Welcome all" she bowed her head slightly "We are here to witness these two people, Veronna Darkblade, and Ocardonydd Nydalath, agree to a life bound to each other, forever," She looked back to Ocar and Veronna. "A life of grief and sorrow, of happiness and love."
She turned to Astoi who held a purple pillow with two gold rings and two silver triangle shaped amulets on it. Larelle picked up both rings, one in each hand and she held them up. "These represent your love for each other." She brought her arms down and she took Ocar's hand, "If you wear this ring you must love Veronna Darkblade until the end. Do you wish to wear it?"
Ocardonydd - April 6, 2005 01:51 AM (GMT)
Ocar looked deeply into Veronna's eyes, and when Larelle spoke he already new his anwser. "I do" those were the only words he said, and he only had to say them to tell Veronna how much he cared for her. He never really thought he would get married, he was a warrior, but so was his dad and mom and they got married.
Larelle - April 9, 2005 05:14 PM (GMT)
Larelle smiled and put the ring on his finger, then she let go of Ocar's hand then took Veronna's, "If you wear this ring you must love Ocardonydd Nydalath until the end. Do you wish to wear it?" She knew that Veronna would most likely say yes, because she could see it in her eyes, in both their eyes; you could see the love for eachother.
Veronna Darkblade - April 9, 2005 05:22 PM (GMT)
Veronna stared back into Ocar's blue eyes, and when he answered I do she knew her turn was coming, and when it did she smiled, "Of course I do."
Veronna loved Ocar and always would, even to the end, which she hoped they would face it together.
(Sorry for such short posts (as Larelle and Veronna))
Larelle - April 24, 2005 11:56 PM (GMT)
Larelle slipped the ring on to Veronna's finger and then looked to everyone else in the room, "They show love for each other, but love is incomplete without trust." She turned to Astoi again and took the amulets, "As warrior's they must know that they will protect each other, and that they would take a sword for each other." She placed one of the amulets on the pillow again. She drew a dagger that was tied around her waist, she turned to Veronna, and Larelle placed her hand palm up, towards Veronna, "Veronna, would you protect Ocardonydd and give your blood and life to him?"
Veronna Darkblade - April 24, 2005 11:59 PM (GMT)
Veronna placed her hand on top of Larelle’s “Yes, I would” she said. When she first met Ocar she would have died for him right there and then, she loved and trusted him, and always would. Veronna’s life had been empty without him, though now many believe she has gotten weaker because she loves someone, but she thinks it has made her stronger in some ways.
Larelle - April 25, 2005 12:02 AM (GMT)
Larelle brought the dagger towards Veronna's hand and slowly dragged it across her palm. Then Larelle sat the amulet on the cut, chanting a soft spell. The blood from the cut started to form a smaller triangle opposite then the bigger one. As the blood gathered, it slowly became crystal like, and when it was done forming Larelle picked it up again and she placed her hand on Veronna's cut and muttered a healing charm, and the cut was gone.
Larelle sat down the amulet from Veronna and picked up the other, and turned to Ocar. Larelle placed her hand palm up ward. “Ocardonydd, will you protect Veronna and give your blood and life to her?”
Ocardonydd - April 25, 2005 12:06 AM (GMT)
Ocar laid his hand on top of his sisters and said “I would.” Ocar would do anything he could for Veronna, he loved her, even though she was a drow it didn’t matter to him, he still will protect her, though she normally was the one protecting him. And for that people believe her weak, even other warriors would think so, it doesn’t matter what other people think, but Ocar knew Veronna would kill someone if they said she was weak.
Larelle - April 25, 2005 12:33 AM (GMT)
Larelle took the dagger and dragged it across the palm of Ocar’s hand. Then turned and grabbed the amulet without blood and placed it on his cut and she started chanting the same spell, and the blood formed in the middle and crystallized. She picked it up then placed her hand on top of Ocar’s and muttered a healing charm. She took the amulet with Ocar’s blood and placed it over Veronna’s head. Then she reached over and picked up the other one and placed it over Ocar’s head.
“They love each other, they trust each other, and will protect one another. Now, will they accept their surnames into their names?” She turned to her brother, “Ocardonydd, do you except the name Darkblade?”
Ocardonydd - April 25, 2005 12:36 AM (GMT)
Ocar felt the blade drag across his skin, but it didn’t hurt that much, he watched as his blood formed in the triangle then became crystal like. He felt the cut seal as Larelle said the healing charm.
Ocar knew the part with the names was coming and he was ready, he had to talk to his parents before accepting, which he did a while back. “I do.”
Larelle - May 2, 2005 02:30 PM (GMT)
“You will now be known as Ocardonydd Darkblade Nydalath.” Larelle smiled at how it sounded and how long it was to say. She turned to Veronna and straightened her faced. “Will you, Veronna, except the surname Nydalath in to your name?”
This was only the second wedding she had ever done, but this was her favorite part of the whole thing, for it was near the end and their lives would be bound together forever.
Veronna Darkblade - May 2, 2005 03:04 PM (GMT)
Veronna didn’t have to her family before this, for if she went to the Underdark they would try to kill. “I do” she said, she had never felt love before she met Ocar. In the Underdark there was only anger and hate, and if someone loved another it normally resulted in death. But here she could love Ocar without fear of it being found out by others of her kind. Veronna use to be full of hatred like her brother and sisters in the Underdark, but she found out that she didn’t need that anger and hate up here on the surface, though she wondered if she could even survive down in the Underdark any more.
Larelle - May 11, 2005 06:39 PM (GMT)
“You will now be known as Veronna Darkblade Nydalath.” Larelle smiled and grabbed Ocar’s and Veronna’s hands gently and put them together. “You are now bound together by life and death, you are now like one, and I give my blessings to you, as you go out to the world married.”
Larelle smiled, “You may kiss.”
That was it, now her little brother was married to a wonderful woman. She never really thought Ocar would get married before her, but it didn’t bug her, Ocar just met the right person before she did.
Ocardonydd - May 11, 2005 06:46 PM (GMT)
Ocar leaned forward towards Veronna and bent down a little for he was so much taller then her, he grasped her hands gently. He got close to her lips and then muttered “I love you” quietly in her ear. They were married, their lives would never be the same now, but they should be better then even before. The path they were about to walk would be a long one, but one that they would not regret.
Veronna Darkblade - May 11, 2005 06:50 PM (GMT)
Veronna smiled as Ocar said he loved her, “Of course you do” she whispered back and then she met his lips with hers, she held for a few seconds then pulled away and looked into his eyes, wondering what their lives were going to be like. Veronna turned to the audience, still smiling and she looked at Laoura to Varila then everyone else in the room.
She held one of Ocar’s hands still as she moved forward off the altar towards the door. There wasn’t really anything planned like a reception, but later everyone was welcome to come to the Taras Elf song tavern, she hoped the word had gotten around a bit. Veronna knew everyone would want to congratulate her and Ocar, so they would see them all out. Veronna stopped walking when they were near the front door and she moved to one side of the doorway and waited.
