Zin was stretched out on the rooftop of a building on the outskirts of the town, her cloak under her head, keeping her face from tasting the grit on the rooftop, and Fade resting on the back of her head.
She wasn't slacking off per se, she was just...not needed to work. Besides she wasn't in Talas at the moment, so there was no real need to think about her job, right?
She'd left Talas the second she'd gotten her hands on her weekly pay, and, much to her disgust, headed towards the desert. It hadn't, she reflected, been her worst idea yet, but it ranked up there. She was just happy it hadn't turned out like the time before, with her falling into the sand, and having to get help to find the city.
What. A. Disaster.
'You must of brought it upon yourself.' The demon was cheerful today, and absolutely giddy about Zin stretching out in the sun like this, being really happy for once.
And so it made Zin reenter the conscious world. 'What were you dreaming about?'
"I don't dream." Zin's voice was tired, and there was a disgusted look on her face. "Dreaming requires memory. I don't remember anymore, ether, if you were going to ask."
