Title: Resting
Description: For Rith
Lamya - November 18, 2004 09:31 PM (GMT)
For the first time, Lamya walked into the Cathedral. It was as if she were stepping into the past. Everything was either rotted or crumbled into a heap of dust. Lamya wrinkled her nose at the mess and turned her eyes upward. The Cathedral was huge. It spiraled upwards for a few stories. It was the biggest building she'd ever seen. Shards of glass littered the floor so she had to carefully step over things to walk towards the center of the building. The building was haunted with its history. The walls were stained an aweful reddish color. Apparently, there had been a battle inside the building and it had withstood alot of destruction. A lone painting hung from a crusty wall. It was the picture of some ancient diety that had long since perished. Lamya settled herself into one of the rotting pews and closed her eyes. She'd been walking for days and needed rest.

Rith walked slowly to the forgotten Cathedral. He He had been meaning to look over the place. The Catherdal still had thousands of stories to tell, many of which could possibly be Rith's newest inspiration. He doubted he would find anyhting of too much use though. The old church had been ransacked by theives and explorers countless times. Walking in his childish form often prved not only dangerous but curious to observers. Instead Rith walked in a completely different form. His head seemed shadowy black and had no features at all save two eye-shaped purple glows. He was tall and wore an expensve looking outfit. At purple cape flutter behind him in the wind and purple gloves covered his hands. Terror, he tainted wisp, floated off to his side. The purple ball of light was the first to sense the precense of a dark aura. Terror was in a usaul playful mood and zipped off to the doorway of the Catherdral. Berfore entering the doorless doorway, Terror morphed into a frightful looking black hound. A low growling could be heard as Terror slowly crept closer and closer to Lamya as if stalking some unwanted visitor.

Lamya turned at the sound of growling. She had never seen a creature such as the one that was making such a horrid noise. It was black and had very sharp teeth. Lamya stood up wondering where the animal had come from. She figured it belonged to someone so she called out, “Please call your…animal off. I mean you no harm unless you bring it to me first. I am just passing through.” Her eyes flickered gold and then settled back to their normal blue. She stepped away from the pew and out into the open, standing in front of the animal. She crouched down and stuck a hand out towards it. She was pretty confident it would not bit her and if it did, she would set it aflame with her crafty little flame spell. Her eyes settled upon it’s and she waited for it to either back away or charge.

Rith contreated on scrying on Terror and his senses after he heard Lamya's call. He wonder what the wisp's curioustiy had gotten him into this time. Terror stopped his growling as Lamya squatted down and extended her hand. The hound now seemed slightly less ferocious as it moved to lick Lamya's fingers. "My animal, means no harm. He simply has a strange craving for attention and will do odd things to fill that craving," Rith's voice seemed echo from all around the room as he passed through the doorway. "Terror, In fact, has taken quite a liking to you. I suppose we could also be said to be just passing through, but if you don't mind my asking, what is it that has brought yourself here?" Rith's voice sounded as he walked towards Terror and Lamya. The glow of Rith' eyes gave no hint to his looking around the catherdal through the corner of his eyes, before returning to look at Lamya.

Lamya was taken aback at the man who appeared to have no face, save for two purple eyes. She cast her eyes downward at the creature licking her hands. She patted it on the head and stood straight. “Well I suppose I am here because I always wanted to see the city of which so many spoke of. I believe there was once a terrible war here and I, being the curious elf that I am, had to investigate before moving on to better places. Now I ask the same of you since I have cooperated so efficiently.” She was concentrating on the seemingly evil aura that was floating about the man. She could not be sure if he was a man at all. His features suggested he was but a spirit, although Lamya could feel a life force as dark as night surrounding him. She prepared herself in case the man was not as friendly as his gestures purposed.

Rith liked her answer. It was an intelligent reply for one who did not know exactly what they were up against. “A terrible war you say? I have heard there was another reason for the Cities current state, but not that it matters much how this place became ruins. I came to investigate the cathedral itself. I figure that chances are higher of me finding something of interest here than the city which has been raided a thousand times over,” Rith’s voice replied as he slowly walked towards her. Terror contently wagged his tail at her feet. He looked upward as if paying attention to their conversation. “I’m sorry I haven’t introduce myself. I am Rith. You of course have already met Terror. May I ask of you name, oh curious elf?” Rith didn’t know exactly why he had given her his real name, but a the moment it didn’t seemed to matter that much.
