Title: Fairy Tales

Tamuril - November 16, 2004 01:31 AM (GMT)
Tamuril sat in a courner of the library with a dust leather bound book opend in her lap. Her head was titled forward as a small candled with dancing flames filckered light onto the book causing strange shadows to dance upon it.

The deaf elf female read of knights in shinning armer and princesses being saved by mighty fire breathing dragons as a smile played upon her pale colored face. She love reading these books of tales wishing she could be one of the many beautiful woman in the tales of love and happiness.

Smiling as she read she couldn't help but think to herself that her wish was coming true she had met her prince charming, Skorne and he had saved her from death and a life alone.

Lilith - November 16, 2004 02:03 AM (GMT)
Lilith searched aisle after aisle for a good book to read. She wanted nothing more than to sit by the small fireplace and indulge in reading for a few hours. As she walked near a corner where all of the fairy tales were kept, she noticed a pretty little lady completely submerged in a wonderful book. Lilith had read the title and was excited to find she wasn’t the only one who had read it. She smiled and walked over to the girl. “That is one of the best books I believe I have ever read.” She stared down at the candle that flickered with her every movement.

Tamuril - November 16, 2004 02:14 AM (GMT)
Being deaf Tamuril did not hear the women speak to her or approch her. Teh female elf continued to read a huge smile upon her face still before the moment of a shadow caught her eye and she looked up.

Looking up she let out a gasp falling backwards out of the chair with a huge bang. Shaking her head Tamuril started at the women not sure what to do not having her journal and quill, leaving her unable to communicate with anyone who did not know sign language.

Lilith - November 16, 2004 02:29 AM (GMT)
Lilith was startled that the woman had reacted so strangely. The loud noise reverberated throughout the once quiet library. “I am so sorry! I did not mean to scare you! Here let me help you up.” She quickly walked around the table and offered her hand. She wondered why the woman had not spoken, not even made a sound. Was Lilith really that frightening of a person? Being 4’8 and weighing only 90 lbs., it was a rarity that one would act in such a way towards the small faerie. She felt bad for disturbing the woman for she had looked so peaceful before. Perhaps the woman was hiding from someone and figured Lilith was a messenger. Lilith shook away all of the thoughts swirling in her mind and concentrated on seeing if the woman was okay. “I can heal you if you hurt yourself. Please take my hand.”

Skorne - November 16, 2004 09:21 PM (GMT)
Skorne walked through the great doors of the library, returning from his trip through the city of Talas. He entered just as Tamuril fell backwards, and he swiftly hurried over to her. He saw Lilith start to help her up, talking to her while she did. She didn't realize that Tamuril was deaf, that would complicate trying to have a conversation. He walked forward, coming up behind Tamuril, he wanted to surprise her. "She can't hear you, she is deaf, and you have to talk in sign language." Skorne tapped Tamuril on the shoulder, trying to get her attention. He then looked up at Lilith, remembering her from the healer hall. "Well, I wasn't expecting to run into you here Lilith, I would have thought that you would have been at Healer Hall at this time of day."

Tamuril - November 17, 2004 07:35 PM (GMT)
Jumping with suprise at the sudden tap upon the shoulder, Tamuril quickly turned around and seeing that it was Skorne she throw arms around him in a hug. SHe smiled at him then broke away, not knowing he was talking to Lilith and began to sign to him what had just happened.

She made the sign for laughter and did her best as a deaf elf to laugh herself at the expression she thought she must have had when she fell backwards onto the floor.

Turning to look at Lilith again she signed hello and told her that her name was Tamuril and the elf behind her was Skorne. She smiled happily and signed again, "I'm sorry if I worried you when I fell backwards I didn't hear you talk to me and didn't know you were there till I fell backwards at the sight of you." She laughed in her own manner once again at telling the fairy this.

Lilith - November 18, 2004 01:12 AM (GMT)
Lilith stared at the woman as she waved her arms and hands around in a frantic matter. It scared Lilith slightly for she didn’t understand what she was doing. She turned her eyes to Skorne. “What is she doing? Is she okay? Maybe I should get a doctor…” Lilith walked closer and laid her hand on the woman’s forehead. “Well she doesn’t seem to have a temperature.” Lilith furrowed her brow in confusion. She remembered Skorne from a long time ago. Apparently, he still thought she worked at the healer’s hall. She would explain all of that after she made sure the deaf woman was okay. She was also pondering over what Skorne meant by sign language. What kind of language was that?

Skorne - November 18, 2004 09:17 PM (GMT)
Skorne almost laughed at the way Lilith acted, it had never occured to him that she wouldn't know what sign language was. "She is fine. Since she is deaf, she can't hear it when someone talks, sign language is a way for deaf people to communicate." He took Tamuril's shoulders, and turned her around to face him. He quickly signed to her that Lilith couldn't understand what she was saying. He embraced her briefly, then looked back at Lilith. "Tamuril taught me to sign, so I can understand what she is saying, she said hello and that her name was Tamuril." Skorne sat down in one of the chairs, glad for the chance to rest after his short walk through the city. It had been an interesting place to visit, but it took a lot out of a person to navigate the bustle of people that were constantly traveling through the city.

Tamuril - November 18, 2004 11:41 PM (GMT)
Tamuril nodded and told Skorne through signing that she understood. Standing she sat down in his lap and stayed close before turning to look at Lilith she smiled happily.

Leaning over she picked up the book she had been reading and closed it before placing it on the table beside the candle where she had been reading. Tamuril didn't know why Lilith had touched her forehead and looked at her worried but she figured as long as Skorne was there she would be safe.

From the looks of things Skorne and Lilith seemed to know each other from some place and being interested int this, Tamuril turned to face her love once again. Facing him she began to guester with her hands again but this time asked if Skorne and Lilith knew each other.

Lilith - November 19, 2004 05:24 PM (GMT)
Lilith smiled. "Hello Tamuril. Perhaps I will learn this language called sign. I'm sorry if I frightened you by touching your head. I thought you might have had a fever." She chuckled and turned bright red. She turned to Skorne. "So how long have you known eachother. From what I see, you two are very close." Her words were teasing. "I've heard you have become a Talas City guard. Oh and you asked about my healing job. Well it didn't go so well. We weren't getting many customers and I had to continue my travels. I am once again out of a job but still I am happy." She wondered what it would be like to be deaf. Lilith loved sound. She liked hearing waves crash into the shore, birds awakening the world every morning, and the breeze as it whistles through the trees.

Skorne - November 20, 2004 01:32 PM (GMT)
Skorne watched Tamuril's question, and quickly signed back a reply. "I met Lilith not to long ago at the Healer Hall." He turned back to Lilith, thinking about how to word what he wanted to say. "I met Tamuril a short time ago at Norwood Lake, but I don't think it really matters how long it was. I became a guard so that I would actually have a place to stay, so that I don't have to keep traveling with Tamuril everywhere. I wouldn't be taking care of her if I kept her traveling at the rate that I normally do." Skorne sat down next to Tamuril, telling her what Lilith had said. It was interesting, this was the first conversation where he had to translate anything to Tamuril. Skorne took Tamruil's hand in his own, enjoying the feel of her skin next to his. He wasn't satisfied with this life of not traveling, but he didn't want to force Tamuril to travel across the realm just to stay with him.

Tamuril - November 20, 2004 02:02 PM (GMT)
Tamuril smiled at Skorne but wondered what he as sawing to Lilith. Taking her hand out of his slowly she signed to him asking what he was saying. She hated not knowing what her love was saying.

And if she had known what he was saying she would have to him sihe was hating the life of just being in one place. Being an elf she was meant to travel and not stay in one place. Also Tamuril had never been one to really like to be around groups of people.

She did not Skorne this though because she was worried that he liked the life had made for them by becoming the guard and she wouldn't be the cause of him not being happy.

Placing her hand on one of his cheeks Tamuril smiled at him lovingly waiting for him to tell her what he had just said.

Lilith - November 21, 2004 04:41 PM (GMT)
Lilith's heart was struck by how beautiful love could be. She longed to be in love with someone who could actually love her back. Her eyes drooped downward and a frown curved her lips. "It is such an amazing thing. You are sacrificing your life, your ways, to be with the one you love." She didn't want to spoil the moment so she quickly sprang back into her smile although her eyes gave her true feelings away.

Skorne - November 23, 2004 01:22 AM (GMT)
Skorne quickly signed part of what he had said to Tamuril. "I just told her that I met you not that long ago." Skorne smiled at Tamuril, enjoying the memory of that day. It seemed so long ago, even though he knew that it wasn't. He spoke and signed the next part, making sure to include Tamuril in the conversation. "Well, part of love is sacrifice, though it is worth the small price you pay to be with the one that you love." Skorne smiled at both of them, still slightly tired from his trip through the city.

Tamuril - November 24, 2004 02:02 AM (GMT)
Tamuril's eyes began to waver as she watched Skorne's hands and lips and soon she was nearly asleep. Letting out a soft yawn she reached up and pushed love's hands down into his lap. Resting her head on his shoulder she watched him and Lilith's lips move becoming to tired to care what he was saying.

Without even meaning too she fell asleep right there in front of Lilith, upon Skorne's shoulder in the middle of the library. She made soft sleeping sounds as she rested there sleeping. She was so tired from also learning her way around the city. That as the main reason why she had come to the library the first place, to rest.

Lilith - November 24, 2004 06:59 AM (GMT)
Lilith smiled as she watched Tamuril drift off to sleep. She whispered, "I guess I should be going now. Looks like you've got your hands full. If either of you would like to visit me, I'll be staying at the Song of Elves Tavern and Inn." She slowly got up and waved goodbye to Skorne. Then she began walking towards the library door, taking one last look at the happy couple. Her heart skipped a beat, she grinned, and walked out of the door, shutting it ever so softly.

Skorne - November 29, 2004 03:35 AM (GMT)
Skorne gently picked up the sleeping Tamuril, carrying her over to one of the comfy chairs that were there for readers to sit in. He set her gently down, trying not to disturb her sleep. Skorne then pulled another chair over and sat down in it, keeping watch over her. Thinking about what had been said during the conversation, Skorne thought about what had been going on the past few weeks. It had been interesting to visit the city, but he was starting to feel slightly claustrophobic surrounded by buildings. He was used to the open air and the smell of trees, not concrete buildings and people that were everywhere. As soon as his contract was over, he would have to tell Tamuril that he wanted to leave, there was no other option, he couldn't stay here for the rest of his life.

Tamuril - December 9, 2004 12:26 AM (GMT)
Tamuril slowly woke from a dream of them being back in the beautiful wilderness her eyes streaming with tears of sorrow. Looking at Skorne she quickly wipped her eyes and placed a hand on his shoulder to let him know she was awake.

Moving so she was facing him she smiled at him wtih tears streaming down her face still. She hated being in the city she felt so trapped and the hearing people scard her. They did not understand what she said and was not willing to learn or write out what they were saying. Not knowing what they said made her feel very uneasy and she did not want to be in a place that made her feel that way.

Tamuril wanted nothing more then to leave the city life and return to the woods with Skorne but he had a job and she knew he would not just break his contract and leave. She also knew they needed the money or at least some of it.

Skorne - December 9, 2004 03:03 AM (GMT)
Skorne turned to look at Tamuril when he felt the tap on his shoulder. He was shocked to see tears in her eyes. He quickly wiped the tears from her eyes, hugging her tightly. When he released her from the hug, he quickly signed his question. "What is the matter? I know that there is something bugging you, so please tell me. I would hate for you to be unhappy." Skorne waited for a reply, concern showing on his face as he looked Tamuril in the eyes, wondering what had made her cry so.

He knelt in front of her, clasping her hand with his own. He kissed her gently on the cheek, worrying about what she had dreamed or thought of that would made her cry. He would do everything within his power to help her be happy, and would gladly give up everything he had for her.

Tamuril - December 9, 2004 09:04 PM (GMT)
Tamuril moved out of the chair into Skorne's arms embracing him tightly before pulling away slowly. Looking him in the eyes she signed to him that she was so sorry but she hated being in the city. She longed to be back out in the wilderness. Still signing she also told him how she felt so different and out of place amoung most of the hearing people in the city.

"They frighten me and shoo me away when they realize I don't talk like them." She told him through tears of sadness. "I just want to go back to our wondering through the woods. I feel safer there. But I know we can't leave you have a contract and you probly want to say here. And I mean I dont want you to leave the city if you like it if you like it here." She signed to him quickly still crying.

Embracing Skorne again Tamuril clung to him pressing her face into his neck crying. All she wanted was to go back to the woods where she felt safe and knew she belonged. It was the only place she felt safe apart from when she was in her beloved Skorne's arms.

Skorne - December 9, 2004 09:37 PM (GMT)
Skorne was surpised to hear that Tamuril wanted to return to the forest, traveling as they had done. He almost laughed at his foolishness. He had assumed that Tamuril would want to stay in the city, have a place to call home, and he hadn't even asked her how she felt on the matter. He didn't deserve someone like her, who would stand with him even when she hated it. He held her tight, letting her cry herself out. It was settled in his mind, they would go back to the forest. He could travel back here if he needed to, at least until his contract ended.

He held Tamuril back, wiping the tears from her face once again. "Why didn't you tell me sooner, I would never do anything that would upset you. We can go back to the forest right now, if you want to. I am sorry that I didn't ask you how you felt on the matter." Skorne stood up, gently pulling Tamuril to her feet. They would collect their belongings, and be ready to go in a few minutes.

Tamuril - December 10, 2004 01:06 AM (GMT)
Smiling happily at being told this Tamuril throw her arms around Skorne's neck and kissed him fully on the lips. Breaking away from blushing slightly she nodded and signed back, "Yes please! Please lets go!"

Beaming at him from her bright eyes she kissed him again and gathered her few belongings she had brought with her to the library. Placing her pack on her back she took hold of Skorne's hand tightly and looked him in the eyes telling him without words to lead the way.
