Title: Brother and Enemy

Hirotaku - November 14, 2004 06:04 PM (GMT)
His eyes alighted to the calamity of the day light sky, the sun shining down brightly, pounding down upon the shoulders of those who fought, sweat beading down their bodies, the grasped on their blades loosened as moisture softened the hard leather of the hilt, a sharp clang of blades could be heard clearly, one went tumbling to the ground, the unarmed warrior fell to his knees, the victor cheered with a upraised sword, from the crowd was the occasionally jeer at the defeated opponent, a sense of honor flew through the arena, the victor grinned proudly, the persons face masked behind a dented helmet, but the crowd still enjoyed the battle, standing up on their seats, screaming out things into the air, a grin spreading on most faces, 'twas a day of enjoyment, where one could enjoy themselves, and for those 'gladiators' who fought within the ring, always appreciated the battles they fought, no matter who lost or won, they thrilled when the final blow had been struck.

Watching from the platform to the side of the arena, Hiro leaned against the rough, stone wall, its tanned appearance made it look as if it was made of sand, something that perked Hiro's interest greatly, a small grin developed on his lips, his eyes glinted in the sun, reflecting off his blue optics, a roguish fire adorned his face, pulling free a borrowed sword, he lifted it into the air, watching a delicate beam of the sun shine on its hilt, giving the appearance of the blade a more fancy look. Dropping the blade to his side, he stepped into the arena, the cheering of the crowd hit him hard, he grimaced at the massive chorus from so many people; he snapped his neck and glanced about the arena. It was well made, the walls made of a hard earthen material, a very good material that preventing bloodstaining, something that greatly amused Hiro, but he turned his attention on his opponent. Recognition of the warrior quickly passed through his mind, his eyes shot wide, his mouth opened slightly, working soundlessly. The warrior dropped a spear to the ground; the helmet came off in a whirl, the features clearly seen. It was his brother, the man who had slain his family, who had killed his loved one, anger shot through his body, leaking into his calm demeanor, he gripped the leather hilt of his sword, his teeth gritted together, he stared directly at his brother, his eyes burning with a passionate flame. "Brother....." Hiro said quietly, his sword arm shaking with fury.

A dark smirk grew on the man's face, his spear twirled in the air, a perfect form was represented, the spear stopped at the ground between them, then with a sharp snake-like movement of his arm, he drew a wavy line in front of them. "Ahh...my brother, you have finally come to show me what you truly are. A pathetic swordsman student of our late father, or a ruthless killer that I would respect." A deep chuckle emitted from his brother, his words clear in the air, and a dark look overcame his features, his spear held tightly in his right hand. Hiro grimaced as he felt a pang of regret when his father was spoken, the sword came before him, gripping it with both hands tightly, and he stared at his brother.

"I sword a oath to kill you, and I will not break that oath. You are going to die today, not at my blood-brother, but as my enemy." Putting one foot in front of his right, he leapt forward his eyes on his foe; a look of knowing passed over his brothers eyes, he quickly stepped to the side, dodging Hiro's blow, without moving his body, Hiro got a glancing blow to the face, a dark drop of crimson corroded down his cheek, his eyes flashing with hate. Hiro stepped forward, bringing his blade to slash across his brothers chest, just dodging backwards, his brother avoided most of the blow, but a gleam of a understanding flickered in Hiro's mind, his brother was toying with him, and he knew it was true when he felt a blow to the stomach making him keel over clutching his stomach. He hadn't even seen his brother move, Hiro was nothing compared to his brother, by now he would've expected a evil chuckled from his brother, his voice mocking him, but looking up, his brother was calm, his spear still held at his side, nothing described him attacking.

Straightening himself, he clutched his stomach with his unarmed hand, his sword held with one arm before him. He felt blood trickle from his stomach, and the wound on his face stung. Grimacing, he stepped forward lightly, dancing to the side as he predicted movement from his foe, but his brother stopped half-way through attack, and within any seen movement slammed the shaft of his spear into Hiro wound, blood spewed from his gaping mouth, Hiro fell to his knees, his eyes glazed over in pain. "You are finished....brother" With those final words, his brother slammed the spear down on his head, knocking him out cold.

Hiro woke up several hours later, covered in sheets, resting on a bed; he heard the sound of footsteps, his hand went to his blade, but found nothing. He flinched as someone walked into view....holding a tray of food. The woman walked up to him, resting a plate of food down on a small table that stood next to his bed, her mouth upturned into a beautiful smile, patting him on the back, before leaving quietly. Hiro sighed and fell back into his bed, this had to be the infirmary for the arena fighters, so it was clear he lost. Grimacing in pain as he moved to face the wall, he felt a sharp pain in his side, touching it gingerly with his hand; he noted the bandage that wrapped around, covering the wound. Closing his eyes, he thought back to the better day, slowing drifting into a sleep.

Master Ace - November 17, 2004 12:26 AM (GMT)
(Sorry, if this sucks for you. I'd put more time into it, but I've got a few other topics to see to and am quite annoyed that know one has posted here yet.
300-600 would be nice. The smaller the number the sooner I am likely to reply ;) )

Master Ace slowly walked through the streets of Taras. The evening sun painted the sky with beautiful colors as it slowly, but steadily crept out of veiw. People bustled through the streets trying to finalize their own buissness or find their way home. A large bit of people were trying to get in to the arena. The upcoming fight was supposedly one that many would not want to miss. A master of weaponry and battle was supposedly challenged by some one. Ace could not recall the name of either and more so did not care about them or their fight. He saw the arena a place where pig-head brutes wanted attempt to make themselves seem better than everyone beating up some other less skilled bloke.

Master Ace had gone to the arena, but memory of those days was lost to him. Bruno, a psuedodragon familiar created by Ace himself, was found to be an exquisite fighter. Ace was suprised when the playful creature wanted to go to the Taras arena. Ace wanted to say no, but could not rightly do so. Bruno had never really asked for much, unlike his brother who was created in a simmilar fashion, Draco. Ace had often fufilled many of Draco's most requests. Ace would prefer to wander about in the wilderness, but often found himself taking Draco for a stroll around the city because the creature wanted to. Bruno had aactually done quite well in his match, too well in fact. His opponet was slain horribly. Bruno had a slight bit of outside help from Draco, who played with the mind of Buno's opponet. Draco was artfully at toying with minds. He could penatrate through minds like water going through chainmail. Ace had lost his memory of the occasion and his two beloved familiars, partialy because of Draco.

Master Ace was annoyed that he had to walk as close to arena as he did now. His destination was the building conviently near the arean and named the Healing Hall. Master Ace needed to speak with them concerning a few batches of potions that were supposed to be comiing from the Academy of magic. Master Ace's long green hair was hardly moved by the slight breeze. Ace's large emerald scaled wings folded around him like a cloak. Ace's green tail moved form side to side as Ace aascened the opal stairs of the large building. Ace's hand pushed open the door effortlessly. Ace's eyes quickly turned tall elven female who stood behin the counter in front of him. "Excuse me miss, but can you till me where I can find Elonis?" Master Ace asked politlely.

"You must be Master Ace. You're the archmage training master and a magister too. I've been meaning join the academy, but I-" The elf managed to babble before Ace politely repeated his question to her. He wasn't in the best of moods and did not want to waste his time listening to some random bafoon bable on and on. "Oh. Take a left and she should be in the first room on the right..." She said before gabbling on about something else. Ace quickly turned to follow her directions and paid no attention to the nosense that came from her mouth and attemped to follow him. Ace was greatly relieved when he couldn't hear her mouth anymore.

Shortly after Ace had opened the door that the woman had told him, The woman who had dropped of a tray of food for Hiro came to the door. "Well, If it isn't Master Ace himself. Ahead of time as usual," The Lady sighed as she moved her long blonde frilly hair out of her brown eyes. "I can't really get with with you right now, but could you do me a tinseey little favor and watch over this poor guy in here. He has been out cold good amount of time, but he has finaly came around. Just make sure he doesn't get himself into trouble," Elonis smiled as she attempted make her eyes as adorable as those of a puppy. "I suppo-," Ace managed to say before being intterupted by Elonis. "Thank you!" She blurted out as she smiled and and ran off into the corridor. Master Ace sighed as he walked into the room. He was too please with the idea of babysitting one who seemed older than himself even if it wasn' by much. Ace walked slowly to a chair a few feet away from Hiro's bed and sat down. He glaced over casually to Hiro to see whether or not he was awake.
