Selena stood near the Cascadian Waterfalls. They were famous for their beauty but also for their danger. If you would come to close a mermaid could put her spell over you and take you with her to her underwater home, letting you drown just like that. Or you could get stuck in a hazardous rapid and be sucked to the bottom of the lake. But Selena knew that almost every beauty had its danger. And all good things had a bad side. At least, that's what she believed. Because, by thinking that, then she would at least not be let down so often.
She smiled towards the lazy summer sun now, her hands shielding her eyes from its bright light.
''Maybe I should go for a swim...,'' she said to herself. ''I've had a tough day...all that fighting and all that stress...I deserve a little peace of mind. A nice, little swim just might help.''
She looked at her clothes, then let out a slight moan. ''Great...I might as well wash my clothes too while I'm at it. There was a brief smile on her face. They do say these waters are the cleanest, most sparkling in all of Imythess...
Just as she wanted to undress herself, she decided it was probably best to look around first to see if maybe per chance somone was around. A stranger that accidentally had strolled out of the forest, drawn to the waterfalls, just like she had done. At first she didn't think she saw anyone, but just as she turned her back to the forest again and had closed her eyes to take in the soft, lulling noise of the plashing water, she heard a twig snap just a few feet away from her. In the flash of an eye she turned around again, pulling her sword from her belt, ready to face her enemy. Or maybe just an peeping Tom.
Marshall had been wondering around that day. He had returned from a journy to Talas, and just wanted to rest. Marshall looked around for any sign of anything to sit on. Nothing in sight. He then saw a road sign pointing in two directions. One towards a waterfall city, and another toward where he just came. He had guessed he had not seen this sign and had passed it up. He headed in that direction know, wondering what this city was exactly. Marshall was halfway there now and he could already hear the waterfall. He smiled when he got closer.
Marshall heard something break the slience of the waterfall. A small tiwg seemed to of snapped. He looked around, his hand on his sword. He called his sword "TrueFlame" because of its power to heal those needed to be healed. The blade will only kill those of a evil heart, and no one else. The blade was forged by the Archangels of The Chosen. They gave this weapon to Marshall's father in honor of his goodness. Marshall steped up and was reliving his father's past. This was planned for him.
Marshall got closer to the falls, and noticed a woman there, her sword unshiethed. He wondered what she had been doing. Marshall could feel a soft chill run down his spine, but that was it. Marshall looked at the clear water. It was so clear that even crystal couldn't match it. Marshall looked back up at her. "Hello" he said to where she could hear him, "Please, i mean you no harm if that is why you have your sword out.".
Selena looked at the stranger that emerged from the forest. Clearly he had been wandering around for quite some time, for his boots and clothes looked a bit muddy. He was also carrying his weapon, yet said she didn't have to fear him. At first she wanted to snap back at him, stating she wasn't as naive as he might believe, yet when she looked into his eyes, really looked deep, she saw he had no evil intensions. And she could know, she could sense them a mile away.
So, she put back her sword in its sheethe and stepped out of the water. She had only been standing a few inches in the cool, clear waters, yet could sense her body adjusting to the new temperature.
Hello, stranger, she began. I have put away my weapon. Now I would like to ask the same from you. No trickery, please, or you will find yourself at the other end of my blade...
