Jahesd walked into the great and massive library bright and early this morning. The library was bright with the morning light from outside. The rising dust was visible from the ground when he walked. Clouds of dust would rise from the ancient library floor with every step Jahesd took. He gazed at the large books as he walked through the lanes and rows of gigantic book shelves.
When Jahesd found a table to study at, he set down his bag and went to the row of books where dragon history would be found. He was very fond of dragons and had always wanted one as a child. He never really got the chance to obtain a dragon. He feared that the dragon would not be loyal to him and then some day kill him. He wondered he and a friend dragon would do together. Would they go exploring and adventuring together? he wondered. Would they teach each other new kinds of different magic? He does not know, but he wishes to soon find out.
As Jahesd was walking through the row of bookshelves, he felt as thought he was not alone. He felt rather awkward at the moment. He felt as though something were pulling at his heart. Some mysterious entity was about the place, he pondered. Jahesd paused for a moment. He looked around and ignored the strange feeling. He continued on to find an interesting looking book. As he was walking, he heard his name whispered in a chilling voice. He instantly turned his to the direction in which he heard the whisper from. There he saw a small book with an ancient dragon writing on it. It looked almost like some sort of journal. He reached for the book and took it from the shelf. It was a red leathery hard back book. It was thin but very heavy for its appearance. Jahesd’s curiosity rose, and he took the book back with him to his study table.
He sat down in his comfy wooden chair and scooted into the table. He lay the book on the table and opened it. All of a sudden a white mist came out of the book and consumed Jahesd and lifted him up into the air. He was filled with fear and did not know what was going on. Jahesd tried to stop what ever this strange mist was, but he could not control himself. The mist then turned red and started to spin Jahesd in circles. He was thrown down to the floor and laid on his back. The red mist smelled of burning coals and felt warm. It started to enter Jahesd’s mouth, eyes and ears. His entire body was shaking violently when suddenly the chaos seized. Jahesd lay unconscious and his body limp.
He woke up very confused on the cold library floor. He lifted his head and looked around. There was a red book next him on the ground. He reached for it to see what it was, but as he did it burst into flames. Jahesd lifted himself up to his elbows and thought aloud, “What happened?”
Jasmine of Laurudy - November 13, 2004 06:54 AM (GMT)
Jasmine had been exploring the library for some time now and was getting bored of the same old thing. The tall book shelves, the smell of age old hardbacks, the dusty floor, the quietness of the air. It was all boring to Jasmine, and she did not want it anymore. She looked for a shelf that did not look to sturdy and was eager to tip it over. Her pace was getting quicker now as she was excited to misbehave. No one will ever think adorable little me would do something like that, she thought. She finally found a shelf to tip, but as she walked over to it, she someone ask what had happened. She tip toed near to where she heard the voice come from. She peaked her head out from the corner and saw a man laying on the ground.
"Oh what a poor man," she said. She hurried over to him and kneeled on the ground. Jasmine does not normaly help people out of no where, but she felt as though needed to. "Is everything OK?" she asked.

Jahesd looked up at the beautiful girl. She was comforting him and calmed him very much. He was confused and asked the same question over and pver again. Finaly he came to his senses. He looked around and saw burning ashes on the ground. He suddenly remembered what had happened. The book. There was something in it that held power enough to do this to Jahesd. He got up and put his hand to his forehead and walked back and forth, trying to figure an explanation for this. He had forgotten the girl and then stopped in his tracks and looked down at the girl. "I am sorry. I do not know what just happened. It does not make any sense. The only sense I can make of this is that I have been possessed by a spirit within that book on the ground." He pointed to the ashes and looked within himself. He didn't feel any different. He did not feel another presence in his mind. Jahesd regained his composure and squeted on the ground. He looked in the girl's eyes and said," What is your name my lady? I thank you for helping me. Please, I must do something for you."

Jasmine looked at the man and spoke with calming words. "My name is Jasmine. I was just wondering in this library and then I saw you. I was worried for you. I have not done anything but rest your head in my hands. I ask for no favor in return. Wait one moment. I change my mind. If you do not mind, will you help me better my magic skills. I know no spell of any sort but I know I have magic flowing through me. I can feel it within me."

Jahesd stared at the girl, brushing his fingers through his bearded face. A smile came upon him and he thought what a wonderful oppurtunity to teach. "Why of coarse I will teach you magic. But first, I must get to know my young student." Jahesd picked up his things and pushed out of his mind what had happened just moments ago. He waived for her to follow and he leade to a table away from where they had been. He chose a spot and sat down. He rested his hands on the table, waiting to hear of Jasmine and who she was.
