Title: Studying for the beast that mocks him
Description: **Part of my book**
Kore Takamura - November 9, 2004 08:10 PM (GMT)
*Slowly walking through the halls of the library, Kore searched for a beastiary about an animal...nay a monster that he has never been able to conquer. Everytime he encountered it, it always shrugged off his attacks as though they weren't even effecting it. He was fed up with not knowing anything about it.
For several minutes he got beastiary after beastiary from different areas, planes, regions, everything. He finally sat down at a table with a dim light in the corner of the library and hunkered down and started flipping through the first book. He found many things that seemed like what he was searching for, but he found nothing.
For hours he looked through the books, studying everything he read about. Halfway through the seventh book, he felt fatigue gripping him, but he kept going. Several minutes later he passed out, his face on the book he was flipping through. If you were close enough, you could hear him mutter the name of the beast.* ...Velarick.....velarick I will kill you

Ahren walked through the library, planning on extending his knowledge of certain items before travelling on. As he walked out of one of the aisles, he saw Kore lying there asleep. It wasn't that strange to see someone asleep with their head in a book, several people studied until they literally couldn't stay awake any longer. He closed the book in his hand, and walked over to where Kore was sleeping. In his experience, most of the people that fell asleep didn't want to be asleep, or else they would have found a bed to sleep in. He sat down across from Kore, deciding about whether it would be wise ot wake him. Ahren took a quick glance at the book that Kore was looking at, wondering what he was searching for that would take so long. It was a book on animals, there were several others there. "What are you searching for?"
Ahren heard a slight noise, and leaned forward, wondeirng what it was. He heard the man muttering the same name over and over. Velarick? I have never heard of that before, what could it be? Ahren glanced at some of the other books, but saw no sign of a Velarick. He decided to try and look in the book that the man had fallen asleep on. This could be difficult, he didn't want to wake the man, but he wanted to have a look at the book. Ahren gently reached out, and attempted to pull the book out from under the man.

Edit: Guess it took too long for me to write this. You can ignore it if you want, or include me in this somehow if you can.

*Deep in his slumber, he didn't even twitch as the man grabbed the book from under him untill his head hit the table due to the missing space from the book being pulled from under him. He snapped up looking from his left to his right half tired. He saw the man in front of him and raised an eyebrow.* You're looking for a beast too?
*He continued to look through another book he had picked up and continued to find garbage that he wouldn't be able to use to better understand the beast he now hunts.*

Ahren looked up when he heard the voice of the sleeping man. It was almost funny, now that he was awake, he went right back to searching for whatever he was looking for. "No, not really, I was just wondering what you were searching for so hard that you fell asleep looking for it." Ahren closed the book, and handed it back to the man, choosing his next words carefully. "What is a 'Velarick', you were muttering that word in your sleep, so I looked for some sign of what it was, but I didn't find any." Ahren watched the man carefully for some sign of reaction, still curious as to what this man was searching for. This day was turning out more interesting that Ahren had thought it was going to be.

Hmmm....Velarick....he is my archnemesis. Not too long ago I found out that it was it who murdered my family and left me for dead. As you can see by my not fully healed scars that I just got into a scuffle with it.
This thing is the epitomy of evil and the size of the thing dwarfs that of most buildings. I'm looking through these books to see if maybe I can find a weakness on it, for I cannot find anything that can damage it. *He closed the fifth book that he's looked through and tossed it into the book basket which he would roll back to where he found them and place them back.* So far my search seems hopeless.
