Title: Remembrance Ballad

Ranewen - November 5, 2004 10:44 PM (GMT)
[This is open to everyone!]

Ranewen walked slowly through the cathedral, looking at the surroundings about her. The benches were old, covered in leaves and twigs from the past years since it was ruined. Rats scurried under the leaves and into their holes, which they made under the rotting wood of the floor. Ranewen smirked and nodded in approval of the place before taking a seat in one of the more sturdy benches. Voices rang through her head, and she hummed a little piece of a poem that she’d written. “All those things, you couldn’t say, you should have said; all those I-love-you’s lost, weighed more like lead, on your chest.

Sighing, she stood up and brushed off the black pants that she wore. She wore a black shirt as well, which made the Vampiress’ white skin show out even more, a deadly glow seeming to come off of her skin. The moon above her was full, and that was what caused her skin to seem to glow. It was very pale indeed, but combined with the moon’s soft light made it appear that way. Red eyes looked through the dark night as if it were day. Even one who didn’t have Ebon Eyes could see easily, due to the light coming from the moon, which seemed to kill the shadows.

She felt another presence around her, somewhere in the ruins of the city. But she feared it not. Nothing, she though, would be able to kill her when she was a stalker of the night. None of the good side was usually in these parts of the ruins at this time of night. Most probably thought that it was too creepy and were afraid to leave their homes in fear of the myths. Although, if they had common sense, they knew that Vampires existed, as well as ghosts. Ranewen thought them all as stupid beings. Believe what you’re told she had said to them one day. But a few of the commoners had looked at her as if she had three heads and four eyes on each.

Shaking her head, she looked behind her as her black winged unicorn stepped in. But it was not that presence that made her look around a bit. She got on one of the benches and got atop the large horse’s back and looked around from up there. Bat-like wings were pressed against the sides of the black-hearted, dangerous being. There was a spot on his forehead, a full moon. That was how Ranewen would tell what the type of moon would be that night. She patted the horse’s neck, but as soon as she had got on and settled atop his back, she hopped off and began to walk into the cathedral more. The presence had seemed to be in there, seeming as if afraid. But, she was unable to tell where or who it was and how long it had been there. But it was now getting annoying and she had to find out what it was. “Go on back, Isilme. Go find Alantha and Renor Cryso and see what they’re up to. Go ahead and go to Talas if you must. Or go to Kellen and set the stables flaming. Wait, don’t. I’ve had good times there back when I was… normal…” she said, her mind traveling back to when she had worked there as a stable hand. Shrugging, she made her way towards where she thought that this being might have been, if it was even there.

Selena Starling - November 5, 2004 11:32 PM (GMT)
Selena felt a presence nearing and turned around. Only a few seconds later she found she was right because she could clearly hear footsteps closing in on her. But she sensed no bad intensions or evil auro, so, she thought it safe to reveal herself. I wonder who this mystery guest is, she wondered and stepped into the light.

As she saw the vampress standing in front of her, her jaw dropped and her eyes grew big.

''Ranewen! Ran!'' she shouted, excited. ''Dear Heavens, is has been so long since I last saw you. How...how are you?'' She clapped her hands and locked her dear friend in a warm embrace, happy so see her again. When she let go, she smiled at her. ''Well? Do tell me. What have you been up to lately, huh?''

Ranewen - November 6, 2004 01:02 AM (GMT)
Taken off guard by the sudden embrace of her friend, she decided to hug her back. Although she was usually quite cold-hearted, who could do such thing to aa friend as beautiful as Selena? “Hello, Selena. I’m doing wonderful. What about yourself?” she asked, a grin on her pale face as her red eyes looked over Selena for a moment and then looked back up at her eyes. “How’s life been treating you?” she asked curiously. It had been so long since she had last talked to Selena and she was glad to have run into her. Smiling, she awaited an answer as she stood in silence.

Silence to her was common. In her temple, when no guests were around, it was lonely and quiet: the way Ranewen had liked it a lot. She’d become adjusted to it and now, loud noises usually startled her. Sometimes, however, silence wasn’t such a good thing. Like when silence fell between her and Kore back at the Academy of Arms. She’d never forget Kore, but she wish that she could. She wished that she could just let him go and erase her memories of him. Ever since he had turned and walked away from her, she had decided on hating him. Not because he had only one arm but because of what he had said to her.

A wind picked up, tossing leaves around her and Selena’s feet. The wind was probably chilly, but the Vampiress couldn’t tell. She felt no warmth, nor did she feel any cold. Her body seemed to be numb – incapable of telling her the temperature surrounding her. She’d become so used to it, that she now thought that everyone was the same. It had been about two months since she was turned into a Vampiress, and even longer since she was turned into the Goddess of Darkness. Taking in a deep breath, she exhaled slowly, trying to get these memories out of her head.

She looked at Selena the whole time between their awkward silence. “What have you been up to lately?” she decided to ask out of politeness. She was eager to know about her friend – how she was, what she was now currently doing and anything new that had happened to her or to her friends. Since becoming a Goddess, she’d been unable to get out. This was the second time in those long months that she had gotten some fresh air. And she was gladder to have met an old friend in doing so.

From behind her, she could hear the wings of her three familiars. They had launched into the air and headed towards either Kellen or Talas in search of something to do. She glanced back out of the Cathedral only once before looking back at Selena, a grin still on her pale face. Her red eyes seemed to glisten for a moment as the moon went behind the Cathedral and its milky light cast in through the stained glass, causing many different colors to appear on Ranewen’s face. She frowned at the bright lights that disturbed her eyes and used her powers to move a cloud in front of the moon. Then, her gaze traveled back down toward Selena.

Incubo_Mortale - November 28, 2004 07:00 PM (GMT)
Incubo walked along the path to the Cathedral diring the cold night. The moon was full and seemed much closer to the earth than usual. His black cape flowed behind him as did his hair. He was looking forward to visiting the old Cathedral. He had heard tales of it when it wasn't so ancient and ruined...

He walked through the large oak doors that were embedded with stained glass windows. The were very musty and hard to see through. The oak doors were tarnished and had names carved in it.

His eyes glowed deep red in the dark and dank room. Although it was dark, it was still quite easy to see in, thanks to the moon's pale, white light. Incubo looked at his surroundings. Their were benches and an alter in the middle. As he walked in his silver hair shined and the hilts of his daggers sparkled as the moon hit them. He noticed two women in the cathedral: One of whom he knew and another that seemed to be her freind. He walked over to the stranger with an icy smile on his face.

He bowed lowely and spoke: "Hello m'am. My name is Incubo Mortale." He kissed the woman's hand and rose from his bow.

The woman seemed to take on a whiteish glow. She was quite pale, but that could have been because of the wan moonlight...

Ranewen - November 28, 2004 07:19 PM (GMT)
Ranewen's attention was torn from Selena as her hand was kissed. She blinked and looked at him for a moment. "My name is Ranewen, Goddess of Darkness... Nice to meet you, Incubo," she said and bowed back. She never curtsied to anyone or for anyone. She bowed, just like a man would. She didn't know why, but she just didn't do things like that. Taking in a breath, she looked him over for a moment, looking at his daggers and then back at him.

She smirked slightly, revealing one of her sharp fangs, as if to tell him not to mess with her. She turned from where she was previously standing, then backed up so that she was standing next to Selena. She looked to the door once more, where a white wolf pushed its way in and it trotted over to Ranewen and stopped at her side. Then, it looked from Selena to Incubo and narrowed his blue eyes. "Rahvein... When did you get here?" she asked quietly, but then looked back to Incubo for a moment. SHe'd never seen or heard of his name before, but she didn't care. She always had the time to meet someone new and talk to them, right?

Incubo_Mortale - November 28, 2004 09:05 PM (GMT)
((OOC: Sorry I had to take a shower than finish my homework... -_-;))

Of course, the Goddess of Darkness. He knew he had heard the name Ranewen before. He bowed once more:

"It is a great honor Godess." Then he noticed she beared white fangs towards him. He gave a short laugh and said "I mean you no harm," he looked back at Selena "I wouldn't harm a freind, or a freind's freind."

Just then a a white wolf pushed it's way through a door and made it's way to Ranewen's side. It's blue eyes narrowed it's eye to slits, but stilling looking at him. Incubo was fond of any type of canines. Incubo stared straight into, what Ranewen called Rehvein's, eyes, as to show he was not scared. He knew wolves liked to taunt the fearful. Soon the wolf looked away and Incubo bent down to scratch the back of his head. He stood back up and looked at Ranewen.

"A beautiful wolf you have, Ranewen. I've yet to purchase a familiar." Incubo gave a little sigh and asked, "Please tell me, what might you be doing here in the old Cathedral here in the Ancients? As for me I had just come here to..." Incubo searched for the right word "...appreciate, the artwork done here, thousands of years ago."

Ranewen - November 30, 2004 12:25 AM (GMT)
((I hate homework... <_<))

Ranewen smirked slightly as Rahvein looked at him once again, then back up at Ranewen. But, he had known better than to attack someone that Ranewen was talking to or was in her temple and was aligned on some sort of evil or neutral side. "Thank you," he said about his compliment on her white wolf. Rahvein might not be the most beautiful - or graceful - wolf you could come across, but he was pretty nonetheless.

She then listened to his second question and just shrugged her shoulders and yawned. "I guess, just using this place as a cure for my boredom... Plus, I haven't been here in a while, and I wanted to see if anything had changed. Thought I doubted it, it was still something to do." She nodded her head and looked back at Selena. "You guys are friends?" she asked, not knowing that they were. ((She didn't mean that in a bad way... heh))

Incubo_Mortale - November 30, 2004 12:58 AM (GMT)
((Me too... W00t Incubo's B-Day in Imythess ^_^))

Incubo nodded. This place was quite interesting and he was sure it's history was also. Any boredom could be diminished (sp?) here.

"Yes, I've met Selena in the Debon Plains, we hadn't talked much but I suppose I could call her a freind."Just then a large stone crashed through one of the stained glass windows. Incubo spun around immediatly. He heard men yelling, three or four, and shadow's of men with lit torches. Incubo looked back towars the godess and gestured her to come and check what was happening. He unsheathed his dagger and opened the large oak doors.

((sorry that was so short, I ran into a writer's block <_< ))

Ranewen - November 30, 2004 01:06 AM (GMT)
((Hehe, meh too.))

Ranewen sighed. Were these more people that just wanted to make her day worse or piss her off. It seemed that way. With another sigh, she unsheathed her Sword of Chaos - one of the only five made in Imythess - and neared the door, wondering what the men were doing and why they were there. But instead of complaining, she stayed quiet. Rahvein stood at her side, glaring outside, bearing his fangs and growling slightly. He was ready to kill some people if he had to do so. And, of course, Ranewen could just call in Alantha Gorgoloth - her large, black dragon - to come to her aid. Surely he alone could scare the men away.

Incubo_Mortale - November 30, 2004 01:34 AM (GMT)
Incubo had not been worried. He delt with thugs before. When he walked outside he noticed something strange about the men. They were about a half foot taller than he was, and they wore dark armor.

"Not your usual jerks," Incubo murmered to Ranewen. "If you do not wish to be harmed, I'd advise you all to leave now." The gang obviously had no idea who they were. They laughed obnoxiously and the largest of the men stepped forward. He was at least eight inches taller than Incubo. "What are you gonna do about it gramps?" the man spat, showing hideous, rotten teeth. He picked Incubo up by the neck and brought him eye level. "You will regret this in your after life," said Incubo, having no trouble talking. He hit the man in the temple with the bottom handle of his dagger. The man let go of him ad he jabbed his dagger throught the armor the man wore, piercing his stomach. The dagger ripped through the armor as if it were tin foil. The few drops of poison that dripped from his dagger, burned holes in the mans armor. The other men were not afraid, however, and slow walked towards him and Ranewen.

"Hope that wasn't too dramatic," Incubo said to Ranewen.

Ranewen - November 30, 2004 02:16 AM (GMT)
"Merely amusement..." she said and grinned, then looked at the men coming forward. No, she hadn't seen these types of men before, but she wasn't frightened by them. They would end up being frightened by her. Or, she could just use her abilities to talk a man into doing anything she wanted. But, she'd rather fight. She would be amused by it. She sheathed her Sword of Chaos and then unsheathed her pair of fighting knifes and pressed them against her own arms. ((I think you know what I mean. If you've ever played BloodRayne 2, you'd know what I mean.)) She smirked, revealing her sharp teeth again and then ran at one of the men, and brought one of her blades around, clicing through ones armour, causing him to get a deep cut on his chest. She landed and looked at the other men, wondering if they noticed who she was yet.

Incubo_Mortale - November 30, 2004 02:32 AM (GMT)
((OOC: Oooh Blood Rayne 2 *thinks of all the cut-scenes that just happen to be behind her* *wakes up* OH! Yeah... sorry <_<))

The started to get the idea about who Ranewen was. They seemed to be frozen at their spots. He called Ranewen over to talk.

"Hmm, what do you say we make this a bit more interesting," Incubo looked at the last two men, still frozen. "We'll see who can inflict the most damage to each of them from this distance." Incubo smirked evilly. "I'll start."

Incubo sheathed his Shadow Dagger, and unsheathed his Assasin's dagger. He threw the dagger with precise aim and it stuck the one man right in the neck. He fell backwards, tumbling down the hill into a cove of trees where raven's nests were. The other man was still frozen surprisingly.

Incubo turned towards Ranewen. "Your turn."

Ranewen - December 17, 2004 10:54 PM (GMT)
Ranewen grinned. "This looks like alot of fun. Too bad there weren't more of you. And, too bad they weren't whimps!" she shouted and stepped back, then took one of her fighting knives and used the throwing encantment. It sliced the man's neck, completely removing his head from his body, which stood there for a moment before falling limply to the ground. She muttered a word of the Elvish tongue and soon enough, the throwing knife came back to her and landed in her head. "Who won?" she asked him, not really sure. Plus, he had created the game, had he not? She was still smirking as she stood, watching the black of the night. It was peaceful in her eyes. Tomorrow, though, a red sun would rise since blood and murder was spilled that night.

Incubo_Mortale - December 18, 2004 12:46 AM (GMT)
Incubo chuckled. She had let him of easy he noticed. She could have opened the bowels of hell and have the man taken prisoner but she instead mused herself with a simple kill. He smiled "Excuse me for a moment," Incubo disappeared for a second then reappeared next to Ranewen once again, his dagger in his hand. He sheathed it and looked around at the carnage. He looked to the man that was being pecked at by ravens, then at the decapitated one.

"Hmmm, quite a hard decision..." Incubo stuck out his hand to shake hers. "Let us call this a draw shall we?" That had been quite an interesting moment to Incubo. He knew not of many men or women that actually had the chance to make a game out of murder with Goddess Ranewen. He looked at the side of the Cathedral and at the giant hole through the window.

"'Tis a shame. A very wonderful sight that was. But I suppose that's why they call these artifacts ruins..." Incubo trailed off.

Ranewen - December 18, 2004 04:37 PM (GMT)
She nodded her head. "This would have been a good addition to..." her voice trailed off as well, since she actually didn't want anyone to know her plans for the future. She still hadn't set them out and though that they would be final. Shrugging, she looked to Rahvein who made his way towards the two and stood by Ranewen's side, is white fur leaning against her right leg, hish ead against the cheath of her sword of Chaos.

Sighing, she looked back at the two dead men. Yes, she had let him off quite easy. She could beat any mortal in a game of death and/or murder. She loved murdering the innocent. But these men happened to not be innocent. Laoura only knew what they were up to. (Not literally.) She sheathed both knives on her left side adn stroked her wolf's white pelt and looked back to Incubo. "Well, those who come here daily have a sight to see," she said, motioning towards the two dead men.

Incubo_Mortale - December 19, 2004 02:15 AM (GMT)
Incubo's eyebrow raised as Ranewen left a sentance in mid-air but decided she might have wanted that way, so he dropped it also. He looked over at the two dead men that were killed by the game, then at the rest of the men from the pack, including the "Leader".

"They had what was coming to them. And now for being such idiots, they must suffer for dieing at a public attraction," Incubo chuckled at his joke. He pushed some of his silvery hair behind him and looked up at the moon. He watched as random stars sparkled. He like nightfall. The best part of day, was when it ended.

"So tell me about yourself Ranewen. It must be great to be Goddess, especially of Darkness." Incubo cringed as his Demonic Mark prickled with burning pain as he said 'Darkness'. He remembered what the line read on it. "You must have lucky choosens and a private Class of some sort?"

Ranewen - January 26, 2005 12:14 AM (GMT)
Ranewen looked over at Incubo and nodded her head. “Ah, yes, my Chosen and then my Abysmal prestige Classes… Don’t believe anyone dares to be in them, though. Too afraid. Either because I’m the training mistress, or they’re just too afraid to come close to me.” A smirk danced upon her dark, blood-red lips as she looked around.

Ah, but there are much more things that are worse than death…” she said with yet another nod of her head as she crossed her arms and looked up at the night sky. “And, yes, it is great to be the Goddess of Darkness… One, well, it’s fun to see how scared people are of you, two: I get my own little temple that’s rather large, and three: I get my own divine familiars and much more pay than many get these days.” She gave a final nod of her head before letting silence linger between the two.

What about you? Do you enjoy doing…whatever it is that you do?” she asked him, her smirk leaving her face so that it was pale and expressionless like it was usually. She blinked her golden eyes and then looked back to him, having found his face more fascinating than the sky for once, for the sky usually got most of her attention when she talk to less interesting people.

Incubo_Mortale - January 27, 2005 01:07 AM (GMT)
((OOC: Gah my posts have sucked so far >.<))

Incubo listened to Ranewen's speech of her special abilities and unique classes. All of it made him smile until he heard that no one was a part of it. He frowned thinking how cowardly people could be. Incubo looked over and the men, one was near skeletal from being pecked to death, and the other was completely surrounded by his own blood. Incubo's frown soon turned into a smirk once again.

"I think you'd make a very interesting training master. Perhaps one day, when I'm a bit more advanced, you'll find me in your Temple looking to become choosen of some sort. As of now I doubt I would even come close to meeting the requirements. Especially since this is a first impression," Incubo said with a chuckle.

"As for my life as an adventurer and wanderer, it is pretty bland. I have no job, I make a small amount of money." Incubo idley spun one of his daggers in between his fingers, "I'm thinking of becoming a Bounty Hunter soon though, when I'm a bit more equipped." Incubo paused a moment and continued. "I usually travel with Renor Xukuth... I have met many people along my journey's though. For example, Selena." Incubo looked up at the sky. Blood red sun was beggining to seep over the horizon. Incubo quirked an eyebrow. "That's odd, I've never seen that happen before..."

Ranewen - January 27, 2005 02:42 AM (GMT)
Well, then, I doubt you know what it means?” she asked and nodded to the red sun. With a slight pause and hearing nothing from him, she continued on with speaking. “Well, it means blood has been spilled this night – murders, basically. You’re probably going to be the hunter, yet also be the hunted if you keep hanging around with me, you know,” she said with a slight, almost unnoticeable wink, before looking back and gazing at the beautiful, red sun (or, at least she thought it was beautiful).

She looked at one of her blades and ran her finger along it, taking the blood from the now dead men and then wiped it on the black pants that she wore. “Might as well get away from the scene of the crime, I suppose?” she said with a smirk and noted for all of her familiars and pets to start following her away from the scene with the dead men. “Though I might not be able to die, you sure as Hell can… They’ll place a bounty on your head if they find you near this crime scene,” she said and nodded back towards the murdered men.

Even if he had explained to them that he was with the Goddess of Darkness, they would probably have thought it was naught but rubbish: a lie. “The mortals, you see, think that I hide in my temple and never come out of it. But, oh, they’re wrong! So, if you told them that I had aided you in doing it, they’d think you’ve got something wrong with you,” she said and a rather insane-looking grin came across her pale face as she looked around. They thought she was an insane Goddess, most of them all, and were they right! Well, she did have wit, though, one would have to admit that…

Incubo_Mortale - January 27, 2005 11:03 PM (GMT)
Incubo grinned widely. He had faced things worse than death. He had went through things worse than death. He had been brutally tortured by Elves and cut and slashed by Paladins and Angels. As far as he knew Incubo was already dead. He had been killed emotionally and physically. His dignity was crushed and he had no pride left. The only reason he had to live was for his revenge against those who challenged him, and who he challenged. He would stand his ground if it came down to it. Besides, he hadn't started the fight, he merely ended it in a cruel game of pain and misery. Incubo just wasn't one to flee a battle and leave it unfought.

"I'm willing to take that risk," Incubo said, and his eyes glowed a horrid deep red color. Thin wisps of the red substance floated up from the cornors of his deep red iris. His teeth seemed to turn a shiney metalic silver and weren't teeth anymore, but jagged fangs. He stopped spinning his dagger and pulled the other one out. He clutched the daggers tightly for a moment and he was engulfed with a golden aura. This was as close as he could get to his true demonic form in Imythess. Their was no breeze in the dawn hair but his silvery hair seemed to flow behind him. He spoke in a half demonic, half human voice.

"So, what is it exaclty that we'll be going up against?" Incubo asked in interest. Renors head raised from the ground. He was quite familiar with this voice, for it was the one Incubo first used to train him. Renor stood up and trotted over to Incubo with anger and attention in his eyes. Incubo chuckled at the aggressive hound. He had been taught well and progressed greatly through his days with Incubo. He supposed this would be the moment of truth for him.

Ranewen - January 28, 2005 12:51 AM (GMT)
Ranewen shrugged her shoulders, not sure herself. “I’m not quite sure… Nothing too bad, of course. But once you get a bounty on your head, everywhere you go, you’ll be stalked until you actually do die… Which, I doubt of course, seeing as I suspect that you’re already dead, but then again, you can always die more than once… I sure have,” she said with a nod of her head, and then a shrug of her shoulders. She looked up into the sky and mentally called her smaller, black dragon: Renor Cryso. The dragon flapped his wings until he landed atop the ruins and looked down at Ranewen, wondering what she could want.

Have you ever met Renor Cryso?” she asked with a slight grin, making a small movement with her hand towards the black dragon, which was about four times the size of a normal horse bred in Taras. “Well, Ren, make yourself useful, will you? Go check the forest for my companion and me and notify me if anyone is coming and, if possible, tell me who it is and where they’re headed. I have the urge to tear someone to shreds…” she said with a rather sarcastic, yet evil, grin.

She then turned back to Incubo and looked down at the Worg and smirked slightly. “I see you have yourself a pet, eh?” she said with a grin as she looked over at it, then used Alter Form to just change her clothes, which happened to be a black Mage’s robes, with the symbol for Ranewen on it, as well as a symbol for necromancy. She grinned slightly and looked at herself and then shrugged her shoulders, letting the light around her die, for the light had risen up around her and outlined her as she had altered her form. “Oh, I love that ability…” she said with a grin, before removing her wings as well to make the robes more comfortable.

Incubo_Mortale - January 28, 2005 02:51 AM (GMT)
Incubo stared up at the great black dragon, while cross sheathing his daggers. He wore an expression of sheer respect. Incubo had never actually seen a Dragon before, especially a Black Dragon. It was quite a sight for him. He stared at the great beast for a long time, suddenly wishing he had the money for a Dragon, but he didn't.

Incubo's concentration was interupted by Renor Xukuth's whine. His eyes turned back to their original color and his aura was no more. He gave a hearty laugh and looked down at Renor.

"No need to be jealous boy, you've always been my first familiar. You won't be replaced," he said and shook his head. Incubo turned to Ranewen to notice that she had a completely new attire on now. She wore a black mages robe with two symbols on it. One which he was not familiar with, the other was a common necromancer's symbol, just a bit altered. He also noted that her black feathery wings with red tips, were no longer existant.

"Interesting, I'm guessing you used Alter Self or something of the kind? Oh! And I thought wings could only be removed surgically. Your powers are indeed very interesting."
