This is a guide that tries to spell the rules of Imythess out as clearly as possible. This is to prevent avid misuse and has proven necessary in recent times. Review this material and know it well.

Four Warnings Means You Go Away! I don't know how many times people seem oblivious to this fact.

1) Have Fun - Just have fun. This does not mean ruining other's fun in the process. The easiest way to have fun is to use this board and follow all the rules...

2) Posting - Twenty words means twenty words. Nineteen is not close enough. This applies to every post not directly marked as OOC.

3) ARP Posting - 200 means 200. Same deal. Also, this states that no double posting is allowed. No, do not bump your own OOC posts. There is an edit button at the top right of each of your posts, use it to avoid warnings.

4) Godmoding - You are not a god. If you are, you do not have to stare at this as hard as the rest of the population. People bleed from cuts, and not every attack is avoidable. If someone strapped a shield on your arm and gave you a sword, you would die in combat, rest assured. In essence, the same goes for your character. Just because there is magic does not mean you can magically become so powerful that the world trembles and you laugh at a meteor colliding with your skull. Spells take some time to cast, and you are not as quick as a photon of light when you strike with a weapon. Buildings _do not_ randomly fall over when you bump them.

5) Powerplaying - Do not do it. At all. As far as the rules are concerned, saying someone gets wet from a huge rainstorm is bad form. You cannot say someone is looking at something. A person's character is just that, their own character, and you have no right to even breathe for them unless they give you explicit permission.

6) Smilies - Only in OOC. Fantasy is sad, no little yellow faces exist ;). I really haven't seen a problem with this one myself, so keep up the good work.

7) Atmosphere - THERE ARE NO VIDEO GAMES IN THE RENISSANCE! If you are wearing it or using it, chances are it did not exist back then. If necessary, study up on medieval settings or read a few fantasy stories. To put it more clearly, if it was invented after the black plague, with a few exceptions, you do not get to use it. No video games...

8) Weapon Modification - Consider it your "in" with the blacksmith. No one is saying that all weapons are availible in the shops, nor are they saying that you can only use what is in the shops. If you check my own inventory you will see that it is a bit out of the ordinary. Non-magical items cannot turn into magical items, and you should buy masterwork versions of weapons you want to customize, but beyond that, have fun.

10) Account Restrictions - Don't ask me, I don't know where nine went either. As far as accounts are concerned, one dominant sentient being only. This means that if you happen to make a great NPC pal who is suddenly going off on his own in RPs, you had better make a new account for that friend. If you give it items, it's a new account. If you can't decide if you have more than one character per account, others will let you know...

11) Thou Shalt Not Kill - Got it?

12) Avatars - Be good children. No naughty images or you will be sent to time out, perhaps even permanently...

13) Private Posts - Another issue of common courtesy. If it is private, get permission or stay out. This is very, very rude, and you will be warned for that rudeness.

14) Advertising - This is not a local newspaper. It is a gift that any advertising is allowed on this site at all. When was the last time you saw someone advertising Big Mac's in Burger King, for example? Keep it to the Cool Sites board. No one likes being pestered about another site that they might not have time for in the first place. This includes keeping advertisements out of the OOC boards besides Cool Sites.


Things ABSOLUTELY not tolerated at Imythess:


These are things that will not be tolerated at Imythess at all. If anyone breaks these guidelines, they will be immediately banned.

No excessive swearing (Minimal swearing tolerated), no nude images (avatars or otherwise), no drugs, no sex (nothing beyond making out. You wanna do more than that, do it somewhere else or in Private Messages).

Any questions can be answered in the help forums. It is absolutely necessary that everyone understand each one of these rules as they are held accountable for them whenever they write in a forum. None of the administrators or moderators like the thought of banning a member for bad behavior, but blatant ignorance of these rules makes it mandatory to do so. These rules are here for the sake of the well being of the community. You are part of the community, so these rules are here for you. Please abide by them and enforce them.
