Title: Could this really be it?
Description: Could this be the end?

Kli_Of_Lorian - October 31, 2004 02:37 AM (GMT)
"Goodbye fair earth.." A faint whisper echoed through the plains. "So has the many before me have fallen on this earth so have I.." Kli laid on the ground, surrounded with dead bodies. She herself was drenched in blood, not just from the others, but from her. Nothing was colored anymore except for the color red. Her blue eyes closed as she waited for death to arrive. No longer did she wear a white dress, a brown cloak, and trousers, but blood. Her hair was knotted into a large mess and her face as pale as the moon on a pitch black night.

What happened? Well, there is a question that must certainly be answered. And this is how it went:

Kli had been standing in the midst of the plains, deciding to go or not to go. If she went she might die, and if she stayed she might die as well. She looked behind her, seeing a swarm of black death racing towards her. Many of the ones who wished her dead. The bounty hunters. They didn't exactly work together, mainly just seeing who could kill her first, and that one would have the bounty for her head on a platter. What did she do? Easy, she was born.

Her father was king of a vast and powerful city called Lorian and had grown ill. The head wizards had clouded his vision and made him think that Kli was dead. But, suddenly Kli started becoming a threat. She could easily take back her rightful throne if she wanted to since she was the heir. So what to do? Make sure she wasn't able to claim her rightful throne, that's what.

She had fought bravely, her blade doing its duty, but her wounds sank in deep. After a few hits she lost her strength, not able to do the magic that kept her alive all these years of being off and alone. And even though she killed them all, the poisoned weapons that had sliced her were now seeping in. She was now feeling the full effect of the poison and new that it would be a miracle if someone were to actually find and heal her. So she just laid there, thinking of the people she loved and things she wished she hadn't done. Could this really be it?

Nightgazer - October 31, 2004 12:43 PM (GMT)
Enzo galloped onto the plains fullspeed ahead. She was behind the black mass of people as they were running and was unaware of the danger they might cause. She then saw her friend that had entrusted a great secret to her and knew that something was going terribly wrong. She hopped aboard Enzo and could only watch helplessly from a distance as Kli bravely fought off all of the bounty hunters, one by one. Even as Enzo galloped as fast as he could go, Meera was still to far away to help her but when she got there, she saw the seriousness of Kli's condition.

Meera swiftly jumped of Enzo and ran to her dying friend. Meera could hardly think she was so worried. Meera said "Kli, Kli, it's Meera talk to me, tell me you're still alive." Meera quickly cast her small heal spell and hoped that it would at least ease any small pains that Kli was having. She then remembered her greater heal spell, if only she could remember how to cast it! She thought hard back to when she was a child learning about magic. If only she had listened. She now closed her eyes and though very very hard. While she was thinking she motioned for Enzo to get a tad closer to kill of any bacteria that may have gotten into her wounds. Now was the desperate time when Meera really needed to reach back in her mind and find the words for that one spell, greater heal, that could possibly save her friend's life.

Kli_Of_Lorian - October 31, 2004 07:32 PM (GMT)
"I could tell who you were Meera.." She said in a faint whisper, wincing slightly as the poison sunk in. "It's one of those things you can tell after a while.." She said quietly. "There is poison seeping into my body, and I can feel it eating away at me... Please, heal me or end my pain here and now.. If you know not a way just slice my head and let me rest my friend.." She said, not opening her eyes. "As father would've said. 'To be a true friend, or love a person, sometimes you must do the things that are the last things that you would ever want to do.' He wasn't all that bad.. His mind was just clouded and always in the past as I had once been." She winced, hugging her body as beads of sweat started to come from the pores of her skin. They dripped on to the hard barren ground. "I rest my fate in your hands my friend. Whether it be life, death or the living dead I shall be grateful for what life has given me.."

She didn't even think of her potion case, she was distracted from the pain. There beside her lay her bag filled with her precious potions that she had bought. Half of the potions lay crushed, but a few laid preserved. She opened her dark greyish blue eyes, looking to Meera. "You are a good friend, always will be.. Say goodbye to my friends for me if I do not make it... Will you? I most likely wont, father says I'm.." She stopped, wincing for a second. "Father used to say I was a fighter.. But, just to make certain.." She said with a nod. She closed her eyes again and tried to resist the poison even though it wasn't going to help much, it would probably delay death though. She grew in a tense state, gripping her sword so much that she started to bleed slightly. She wouldn't give up unless there was no hope.

Nightgazer - November 2, 2004 12:29 PM (GMT)
Meera was nearly crying now but she knew that she would have to be strong for her friend. She knew that after all of the spells that she was going to use on her friend, she would greatly be seeking strength. She quickly cast her aid spell to hopefully give Kli some hope about healing and getting back on her feet, then Meera focused on the real task ahead. She thought so hard about the spell that she got a headache. Finally she had to stop and tears were streaming down her face. As she was about to say that she couldn't remember the words, a soft voice in the back of her heads whispered them.

Meera nearly yelled with joy but she quickly spoke them outloud and watched eagerly to see what it would heal and how bad Kli's wounds would really be. Meera said "Kli, You're going to live! Don't give up on me now, please Kli!" and she loosened Kli's tight grip on the sword so that Meera could take it out of her hands so that Kli would not bleed anymore and hopefully help the blood to clot on her wounds. Meera watched with glassy eyes hoping that she had saved her friends life.

"Don't you know that I never give up?" She said softly, almost a whisper. "Always get right back on the horse.." She had her eyes closed softly as she breathed deeply. "A tradition that I plan to keep..." She said, letting go of the sword. She opened her eyes to look at her friend quietly. "You have been a true friend to me.. You've always been there for me.. Kept my secrets even though you could've told everyone in sight. You prove faithful.." She looked to her hands as they started to heal very very slowly. It was hard to tell, but Kli knew. "I want you to have something Meera.. But, I cannot give it to you before I can move better..." She said, getting quiet again. She closed her eyes, trying to sit up. "I know that if there was no other option besides death you would make sure I didn't suffer.. I am glad you found a way to save me though.." She laid back down, deciding to rest a bit before deciding to go off. "My fight is not over.. I have one more fight to go.. And if I win that fight I will have to go back to Lorian to help my fathers land, and if I do not.. Lorian might go out of control as I have always feared and try to wipe out middle earth. They have enough power in one city for anything.."

She stopped for a moment. "So, I will need to go into Lorian.. The head wizards have started on dark magic. They're minds have grown in evil, and if this continues.. If this continues the balance will not be so.. If the balance between good and evil is not fixed before it happens, then we all die.. Even the ones who are evil.. Every single one.. The only way to win is to go into Lorian and turn their own people against them.. I wanted to tell you this because I will need others help.. I will ask everyone else as well if need be.. I don't want to ask, you understand, but desperate times come with desperate measures. I do not ask you to decide now, I am simply telling my plan and why I need to.. It is time for me to fight or die trying." She stopped, trying to gain the strength she would most certainly need.

Nightgazer - November 3, 2004 08:43 PM (GMT)
Meera smiled as her great friends health regenerated. She wore a wide grin on her face as she listened to Kli's praises of her and being the modest person she was, she shook her head and said "I am not that good of a friend, I should have been here with you. Then you might not have gotten hurt." She gave her friend another warm smile that faded away to seriousness as she listened to what Kli was going to do in Lorian. It was no doubt a dangerous task but Meera too knew that it was highly necessary and it was something that had to be done no matter what.

Not paying any attention to what Kli said about not making a decision immedietly, Meera eagerly said "I would gladly come with you. Otherwise, who would heal you if you got wounded?" and she smiled. She always loved a good adventure no matter the danger. Not only was this going to be a grand one, but it would also be a highly important one for the good of the citizens of Lorian and Kli herself. Kli's tone made it sound as if she was going wether alone or not so Meera just decided that better she go with her then no one.

Kli_Of_Lorian - November 3, 2004 11:25 PM (GMT)
"Meera.. You might not know this.. But, I would've probably not asked for your help at first.. You see, I wouldn't have wanted anyone to help me.. I thought it was my fight, but now I understand. The poison has given me a clearness of mind. It's not just my problem, it endangers the whole balance of middle earth. Without the balance, we could all die.. I realize that now, but I know I wouldn't have realized that until it was over with.. You can't always be there to protect me.. No one can.. Not even the gods.. And, the point is, is that you helped me when I needed it. That is a true friend.. And your modesty only helps.." She said quietly. She fished through her pockets and pulled out a gold bracelet. "It's for you.. It's not realy anything that I wished i could give you.. Something not as material, but, I want you to have it all the same.." She smiled slightly.

"And as for this quest I will be off on.. I thank you for your faithfulness to the cause. But, think about this some more.. I do not want you to risk your life just because I'm going into a battle between forces.. You have to decide without putting me into it. Put only you and the balance into your decision.." She said. She was quiet again, now feeling her strength to start to come back to her. She struggled to get up into a sitting position again, using what force she had left. Meanwhile, a white stallion watched quietly in the not so distant distance.

Nightgazer - November 4, 2004 08:15 PM (GMT)
Meera took the bracelet gratefully and said "no matter what happens, your memory will always live on in this elegant and lovely braclet" then slipped it onto her right hand were it sat glittering into the sun. She then listened once again as Kli asked her to consider her decision wisely, making sure that this was truly what she wanted to do. Even though Meera already knew the answer, to possibly make her friend feel better about Meera being in it, She paused for a second then made as if she were making a hard decision.

She ended up with a large lit up smile on her face and said "I am absolutely sure that I am in every way ready to go with you." And she crossed her arms over her chest as if just letting Kli know that there would be no budging Meera from her final decison no matter what the circumstances. Meera would stick with Kli until the end. No matter if she was one inch away from death or totally healthy. Meanwhile, Enzo had perked up his ears and had his head turned towards a white flash against the dirt. He whinnied loudly at the other stallion wondering what his business was here. Meera didn't look up for she was used to Enzo winnying often and it didn't arise her suspicion.

Kli_Of_Lorian - November 4, 2004 11:27 PM (GMT)
She smiled a soft, quiet smile. "I am glad that someone will remember me once I'm gone.." She said. "Because after this quest I may have to leave Imythess for good.." She sat there for a while, feeling her body as it was healing. Her ears heared Enzo and her eyes dashed in his direction. She then noticed her horse, well, kind of her horse, in the distance. She whistled softly, the white horse walking up to her and giving her a nudge slightly. She looked to Meera. "Thank you for your descision.." She said. "Now, I really should rally up the troops... I know it might not be their problem, but I have to try. If it isn't their problem now, it will certainly be a problem later.." She said. She used the horse to try and get to her feet, but her legs gave way and she fell on her bottom. She sighed slightly. "I guess my impatient mind will have to learn to relax and rest.." She said with a slight laugh. "You've met my horse have you not?" She asked quietly, patting the horses side. "I haven't named him.. It's so hard to find the perfect name.. It must have a meaning behind it.." She smiled.

Nightgazer - November 5, 2004 12:58 AM (GMT)
Meera smiled as the horse came up to Kli. She had always been a great lover of horses and this one was indeed beautiful but it was the first time that she had seen him. She said "ah, I had trouble finding a good name for Enzo at first but it was not really a word but it described his personality with the feeling. Do you understand what I'm saying? And I don't believe I have met your horse before. It is beautiful though" and she smiled. As she saw Kli fall down, she jumped up to help her onto the horse. She jumped to her back and said "allright, stand up and I'll give you a leg up. That is if you think you can stay on. If not, then you can always ride with me...."
