A winged figured flapped lazily through the air. making the occasional dive and easy movements to bring alittle more excitment to the dullness of the evening, after flying for awhile Gher had tired himself and glided easily to the ground landing on his feet,
Leaving his wings spread allowing the soft breeze to resettle the feathers, then letting them fold behind his back and out of the way looking around Gher made a thoughtful noise "now... where would that Gryphon nest be.." Gher tested himself hearing rumours of Gryphons living around here, Gher sure would love having a Gryphon as a pet,
Spotting a small cliff on the usual plains Gher decided that he would check there since Gryphons flew then surely they would next in an elevated area, trotting off up the hill Gher avoided loose rocks and once had to use his wings after slipping and almost falling off the small cliff pulling himself to the top Gher looked out at the veiw, a great view of the sunset over the plains,
Yet no Gryphons, Gher sat down crossed legs his wings folding around him as a soft sigh escaped the boys lips, "No Gryphons.." The boy muttered visibly disappointed looking out at the sunset Gher thought "At least it wasn't a complete waste of time"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rith walked slowly through the plains. he rembered how Draco had so hate solitude, but now Rith found that a health taste of isolation was good for you. Rith's mind to the earlier event of the day. He had gone into the blood seal tavern without an illusion to disguise himelf. It was a horrible mistake. A pack of thristy Vampires attempted to put him on the menu. Rith merely smiled as they were all chased off by an abominabal illusion which struck fear into their hearts and and who were sober enough to see. The event was fun at the time, but Rith wished he had not flaunted his power so. As Rith walked a purple light faintly came out of his bawled up fists. The grass he walked through became whithered and blackened. A purple wisp orbited around Rith slowy. Terror, the tainted wisp. Stoped as it noticed Gher in the distance staring into the sunset. The ball of light danced intfront of Rith and tried to contact Rith through their telepathic bond, but Rith blocked his mind and paid the wisp no mind. "Not Now. I doubt you have something of importance," Rith's thoughts drifted to the wisp. The wisp seemed to respond by flashing brightly. What emotion this was meant to display was anyone's guess.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gher sat at his vantage point and continued staring out over the plains intently and soon something caught the boy's eye... something purple, like a light, yet Gher had never heard of purple coloured lights,
squinting his eyes in vain to see clearer the scene splayed before him yet failing seeing nothing more then a purple light encircling a person. a short one at that, perhaps even a boy like himself,
The purple light glowed more intensely and for a minute Gher could swear that the light almost seemed alive.. "Impossible.." Gher thought slowly to himself his wings no longer wrapped around his body, crawling from his knees to his feet Gher stared down at the person... A man. it appeared to be though Gher couldn't be to sure at the distance,
staying on his feet wings spread Gher waited for the man to come closer, attempting to determine whether or not the person would attempt to harm him, Gher carried few belongings, so the only reason he could think of anyone killing him would simply be pleasure.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Fine, What is it?" Rith's words entered Terror's mind. The wisp finally stopped it's constant flashing and quickly told Rith of Gher. Rith continued walking without even so much glancing at him.
"I don't feel like torturing minds today... Though I suppose I could do for a hearty chit-chat," Rith said into Terror's as they near the winged boy. Terror had once again resumed circling Rith. If wisps ycould be said to know pleasure one could easily say that circling Rith gave Terror great pleasure. The light of the tinted wisp dimmed slightly at Rith words. Terror indefinately enjoyed scaring people with nightmarish illusions, but would not create them if Rith did not tell to do so.
Rith stopped and looked up at the winged boy. He wondered if he was a boy of Kellen who had wandered off too far. It occured to Rith that the boy might think the same thing of Rith. Rith ,afterall, seemed little more than a six year old child. Rith took a few moments to study the boy in the distance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gher continued watching the boy it seemed a boy of about half Gher's age perhaps from the village Gher had just passed through, hearing the stories of Gryphons,
The only thing Gher found wrong with the scene was the light circling the boy Gher shrugged it off and jumped from the small cliff using his wings allowing him to glide easily infront of the boy Gher was surprised by the sight closer up
"what brings you out here?" Gher asked the boy slowly still under the belief that the person infront of him was a boy,
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rith smiled slightly as Gher glided towards Rith. Rith's purple eyes stared into Gher's as he focused on Gher's mind. "His mind seems simple enough," Rith thought to himself. "I am looking for gryphons," Rith Lied. "I haven't had too much luck, though," Rith said as he his gaze down at his own feet. "Have you seen any?" Rith asked exictedly as his gaze quickly returned to Gher. Rith's eyes seemed full of hope. Rith did not doubt that this act would be enough to fool Gher. Rith knew he needed to work on act what his age seemed. Now would be a nice time to practice.Terror stoped orbiting Rith and now began to circle around Gher.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gher's face briefly flashed in surprise at the mention of Gryphons. a strange occurance Gher thought briefly, two boys searching for the same fabled Gryphons.
Acting uninterested Gher looked at the boy hiding the look of surprised long before "Why Gryphons?.. Where have you been searching?" Gher asked the boy a lightness in Ghers tone as he feigned uninterest in such fables as Grpyhons,
Gher shrugged at the boys next question "Gryphon's... Don't be silly..." Gher chuckled still finding it odd that two boys were looking for the samething,
Gher began to look alittle worried as the purple tinged light began floating around Gher's body, Gher was unsure of the person, and even less sure of the wisp floating around him,
Gher had learnt one thing over all during his time on the planet.. he learnt to be cautious after being marked by the Goddess of death in a previous land, he had experianced the brief comfort of home within the same land, and family.. all these thoughts came to Gher and began to fill his mind. completely unawares of Rith's ability to read them,
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rith resisted smiling at Gher's attempt to feign indifferance to him. If Rith weren't skim his thoughts and skilled at seeing through lies, Rith might have actually beilved him. He could be prehaps easily be trained in the works of decieving others.
Rith quickly thought of a reply to Gher's questions. He knew that Gryphon's were real. Draco had overheard Master Ace speaking of some sickened gryphon once. He wondered if he could draw more of Gher's attention and see how long he could feign disintrest. "What do you mean by 'Don't be silly'?" Rith said in a soft voice that seemed slightly offended.
Rith's eyes turned up to the sky. His became slightly more confident. "I saw one high in the sky the other day. I just want to see one closer. I haven't had too much time to look today, but I am sure I'll find one before the night is over," Rith smiled before returning his look to Gher.
Terror continued to whirl around Gher. Rith was pleased to see the mixture of thoughts that ran through his read. The were small clips of his past mashed together. Rith could not make much use of it now, but prehaps an extended time with him could allow him to see more of Gher's strange past. "Would you like to help me?" Rith asked patiently. He could have terror attempt to find a Gryphon. If all else failed he could have Terror make the illusion of a gryphon.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gher continued in the belief that he was infact fooling the boy standing before him, still completely oblivous to the real facts that it was infact the man fooling Gher,
Gher tilted his head at the tone Gher recieved from the boy "I'll admit that they exsist, I just don't believe they live here." Gher spoke softly knowing that sometimes a bit of truth works better then a lie,
Gher listened to Rith speak and his gaze turned suspicous suddenly, Gher still being a child knew what it was like to hear of things such as Gryphons, any normalboy wouldn't have waited... a normal Boy would have shot off as soon as the story had ended to find Gryphons, or other such things,
These thoughts flashed through Ghers mind and then were gone the unsure feeling that Gher now had remained, looking at the "boy" Gher frowned and nodded slowly "I suppose I could help you.. But what have you been busy with?" Gher questioned Rith ready to catch the "boy" out on a lie if in fact he had been telling one
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Post:
Terror flew up into the air and wandered off into the distance in search of a gryphon. Rith would merely have to keep the boy busy while Terror found the Gryphon. Catching it would be a simple matter after that. If terror could not find a Gryphon then Rith would have him make an illusion and make sure a good distance is kept between Gher and the illusion.
Rith look a deep breath before explaining himself with a lengthy lie. "We, me and my father, were out on the Gwil...Glik...I don't know how to pronouce it correctly, but um... anyways we were on the Gilikith Mountain Range beause my dad was looking for some boring plant. We saw a large gryphon in the sky. It didn't look big but dad said it was fairly large for a gryphon. I told him that I wanted to see it up close. It was so far a way that but didn't seem much bigger than my hand. I asked him if we could find any gryphons on the mountain range, but he said it wasn't too likely. He said that he doubted we would find any closer than the one we saw. I then asked him where we could find some gryphon's. He said we could find them in the plains that weren't too far away from the Kellen. I asked him if we could go, but he said no. He said he had to find that boring plant before we went anywhere. He finally found the boring plant and then talked of his next bit of buissness in Kellen, which didn't seem to make any sense. I was glad that were going to Kellen. It meant that I might get a chance to go to the plains. We got to Kellen earlier today but he wouldn't let me go until he had taken care of a few things. He said I had until noon tomorrow to find a gryphon. If I caught and brought it to him he said he might do something special for me!" Rith explained. His last sentence was said with a great deal of excitement. Rith felt that his lie should calm a few of Gher's suspicions.
"I'm not too sure of the best way to find a gryphon, though," Rith quitely, but still audible to Gher. His eye's once again turned to his own feet. He wondered if gher had heard anything of how to find a gryphon.
Gher listened to the extra long explaination and knew that those sort of explainations were only something a child could manage, Gher himself often used them as a stratergy for blowing off the questions he didn't want to answer.
Gher nodded almost to himself as he became less suspicious of Rith and just began to accept the boy for who he was, smiling boyishly Gher shrugged "I don't know how to find one either... I thought i'd just fly around and stumble into a nest or something" Gher admitted tilting his head slowly and he remembered that purple light that was circling around him
"say what's that purple light thing that was following you?" Gher asked curiously as he squinted to see where it had gone,
You notice a bunch of rolling hills in the distance... as you approach them... you notice just how difficult it is to enter the place... Only someone with a rope could ever enter the deeper part of the hills... And someone with exploration experience would be reccomended to effectively navigate it...
(We'll just ignore him, m'kay)
Rith was glad to see that Gher seemed a little more trusting of him now. Rith was still curious as to how he had managed to pull it all off of the top of his head. His tounge seemed to run on his own and the words simpled popped up in his head for a few seconds before the words rolled off. "Ohhh... That sounds better than what I had in mind," Rith said exictedly. He then looked down at his feet again and said," I thought would come out to the plains and they would be simply flying about." Rith eyes returned to Gher at Gher's question.
"Oh... The light is a ....'pet' of my father's. He almost always sends it with me," Rith said as he stared into the sky as if looking for where the wisp hand gone. " I think he calls it a wisp. It has a mind of it's own and often wanders off when it wants to," Rith shrugged.
"I think your idea is better than mine, but the only problem is that I can't fly," Rith said sadly.
