Title: Travelling through the Dark

Ahren - October 2, 2004 03:34 PM (GMT)
Ahren walked cautiously forward, constantly looking around him. He wasn't sure what to expect down here in the deep tunnels, but he knew it wouldn't be good. He had heard tails about creatures that struck out of the darkness, and didn't leave any evidence that they had been there. This included dead bodies, nothing was left behind. He kept his bow in his hands, with an arrow already set on it. He doubted that anything would be able to sneak up on him, but he still wanted to be prepared.

Ahren wasn't sure were he was going, but he continued down the tunnel. He was here for a reason known only to him. He was searching out a demon, and he had tracked it this far. He had hesitated about the decision to travel through the tunnels that lead to the Underdark, but he had finally convinced himself this might be his best chance to finally end this chase once and for all. He peered around in the darkness, watchful for any sign of movement.

Ahren suddenly remembered some info that he had heard a while ago that troubled him. The drow sometimes used a poison arrow that paralyzed anyone struck by it. He activated his air shield, not wanting to be struck by any ranged attacks. The air spun swiftly around him, giving him protection from any arrows that might be fired at him. The wind brought a sound to his ears, a low shuffling noise. He wasn't sure what it was, but it didn't sound good. He slowly pulled back the string on his bow, and raised his bow, ready to fire.

Shynthriir - October 2, 2004 03:55 PM (GMT)
Shynthriir was walking through the tunnels looking for something. What he was looking for, he was unsure of at the moment. Step by step he walked through the tunnels, his feet meaking not a sound on the hard rocky floor. No weapons that you could see, he could call forth a firey whip by just thinking it. With his silenced motion and how he appeared unarmed made most monsters in the cave attack him foolishly.

Another step he made and then stopped. In the distance he could see a form in the shadows. Shynthriir stayed motionless and let his abilities to nearly blend in with the shadows make him near invisible to the stranger. It was no monster, the form of a human parhaps? He was a little taller though, and his build was not that of a barbarian. Another elf? One of his kind maybe? He couldn't wait to make contact with the strange person.

He slipped into a side passageway so that he could not be attacked by a ranger weapon that the person might have on him. Once out of the sight of the other person Shynthriir said, as quietly as he could so as not to alert any nearby monsters, "I am Shynthriir and mean no harm. I come in peace though am courious of your prensence in these tunnels."

Ahren - October 3, 2004 05:33 PM (GMT)
Ahren was a bit skeptical when the voice said it didn't mean him any harm. That could easily be a trick to have him let down his gaurd. He couldn't see the person, but that wouldn't stop his arrow from finding him if he shot into the darkness. He looked cautiously around, making sure nothing was coming up behind him. Once again he heard a low shuffling noise, it seemed to be getting closer. He turned his attention back to the problem at hand, he would have to deal with the other creature later.

"If you mean no harm, then come out where I can see you. It is hard to trust someone if they hide from you all the time. Of course, I could just shoot you now. Even if you are hidden by magic, my arrows will still find you." Ahren kept the bow raised, prepared to fire should anything attack him. He also decided to wait a little bit, if the person didn't show themself, he would jsut release his arrow and be done with them.

Ahren was glad that his eyes were adjusting to the darkness, it meant he had a lessened chance of not spotting any danger that came up. He peered around in the darkness, straining for a sight of the person that had said thye dind' tmean any harm.

Shynthriir - October 3, 2004 10:25 PM (GMT)
Shynthriir tunred the corner and saw that the man still had his bow at ready. The darkness might have been his friend and ally in these conditions, but if the man held such magic to track him down with the arrow, then the darkness wasn't as kind as it used to be.

He walked up so the man could see him; not a step closer so that he cause no threat. His hands folded across his chest, the universal sign of peace. He studies tha man, still his bow was ready and he knew that it would not be wise to provoke him.

"My name is Shynthriir," he paused to clear his thoughs and sort out what he was going to say. "The tunnels are dangerous and I don't wish to travel alone. I know not your powers, but I feel that you might be safer in company." Shynthriir waited for the answer of the implied question. His heart was raceing in fear of a bad answer.
