Title: A Challange [P]
Description: Open To Sargoth
Lynx Alacult - October 1, 2004 09:46 PM (GMT)
He walked onto the platform looking around his arms crossed makeing his way to the center of the platform he drew the weapon at his left side spining around his hand once holding it infront of him he waited for someone to come, his wings folded behind his back for the time being, a white feather droping to the ground he glanced around tapping the flat part of the blade aginst his boots.
"........................"
OOC:...A bit short sorry...
Sargoth - October 1, 2004 09:52 PM (GMT)
The metallic clank of armored boots echoed through the circular arena as the God of Day stepped into view from the rectangular entrance hallway. He stepped from the shadows and into the daylight, only to reveal a grand glow befitting an immortal. The sun rays danced in welcome on his white skin as he stepped further into the ring. To his right, he spun Mekki-Meru effortlessly in a vertical trajectory. It was his most comfortable weapon, appropriate for the type of challenge he had accepted. Without saying a word, he stopped the twirling blade and club ends of the long weapon and took a defensive stance. Holding Mekki-Meru between his left and right hands in front of his body, he gave a single nod to signify that he was ready.
Lynx Alacult - October 2, 2004 02:44 PM (GMT)
He had heard the god step forward he smiled for a moment, pondering at why he was challangeing....a god....he had come to the anwser that he wanted respect perhaps if he could best the god of day he may gain that respect or perhaps not he was not sure on the matter at hand,He turned his head to the side glanceing to his opponet, in one swift motion he took flight makeing a graceful flip in the air to face his opponet then a split moment later he was diveing airborn at his opponet going into a sprial, holding the long blade in his left hand he spun it in his right hand and as he came upon the god of day he made a downward thrust at Sargoths Left shoulder.
"..We Begin!..."
Sargoth - October 2, 2004 06:23 PM (GMT)
Sargoth grunted as he turned the blades of Mekki-Meru toward the acrobatic assailant. He would definately have to do better than this if he hoped to even survive. Rather than taking the oppurtunity to jab him in the chest, face, or stomach with the razor sharp points of Mekki, he decided to continue the spar. His arms rolled, pushing the flat edge of the halberd side against Lynx's wrist. At the same point, he bent his knees to get out of striking distance while putting even more force into his push. Due to a lack of maneuverability in the air at such close distances, it was nearly impossible to even stop with wings. Ultimately, Sargoth had planned to deflect the sharp weapon while bringing the blunt end of Meru up into Lynx's body, buffeting him with effective stopping power and perhaps even using his body weight to throw him to the ground.
Lynx Alacult - October 2, 2004 07:05 PM (GMT)
As his opponet blocked his first blow his mind reacted accordingly to what sargoth had done as soon as he felt the flat part of the Halberd press aginst his wrist his wings shifted and useing his opponets push, he was able to turn in the air quicker and flip behind his opponet and drop to the ground
Gripping the pole part of Sargoths weapon with his right hand as he came behind him so that Sargoth wouldent be able to thrust it towards him or knock it towards him without giveing him a chance to dodge, Now spinning the long blade in his left hand to make it held in an Introverted mannor he made a stabbing motion at Sargoths right side thrusting the blade behind him his head turned to watch sargoth.
"....Hrmp!..."
Sargoth - October 2, 2004 07:27 PM (GMT)
A quick spin on his heel allowed Sargoth to remain facing Lynx as he flew overhead. As he turned, he recognized the shape of a speeding blade headed toward his side. With lightning reflexes, he allowed Mekki-Meru to dissapear back to the chaotic maelstrom of his life force as he stepped backward to avoid the strike. His face showed annoyance as Lynx refused to learn his place in this battle. He considered drawing blood on the next oppurtunity to relieve any inflated ego. While his opponent finished the arch of his strike, the God of Day reformed Mekki-Meru in his hands and thrust it forward, stopping it as the sharp tip touched Lynx's skin, right behind his jaw.
"You are wasting energy in pointless maneuvers."
Lynx Alacult - October 2, 2004 07:37 PM (GMT)
He made two large leaps backwards useing his wings to give him more distance, growling slightly at his opponet, everything his opponet did would out do whatever he tried to do his current style of fighting was no good, he folded his wings behind him and reached to his right side and with his right hand gripped the hilt of the second long blade he carried, it would seemed he was intent on going all out on this fight he drew the second long blade and a lound ringing noise echoed through the arena, he spun both weapons around his hand once then held his arms out the blades seemed to be extentions of his arms and nothing more the sun light relfecting off of the weapons steel.
"..I have come so far...i cannot lose now...no...i refuse to lose!.."
-He charged forward at Sargoth with blinding speed comeing to his opponet rather fast, his eyes narrowed as he closed in on Sargoth watching his movements intently, he had trained his whole life in the art of combat only to be outdone effortlesy by this one.
Sargoth - October 2, 2004 07:51 PM (GMT)
"Sometimes you do not get a choice," came a terse reply as Lynx worked to regain the space that he had fled. Given the spare moment, Sargoth decided to hear the wind whistle as he rolled Mekki-Meru infront of himself for two full rotations. At the mark of the second spin, he moved a foot forward and planted Mekki-Meru on the ground as he would do to a charging steed, awaiting the impact of Lynx on its pointed edges as he drew almost dangerously close.
Off and away from the battle, at least two small groups of men had gathered by the entrance port, all staring at the battle that was raging inside the training circle. All of them looked gruff and combat hardened in at least one way or another, but they all had lost control of their faces. Their jaws hung limp at varying angles and their eyes were wide. Apparently this had all been much more impressive than expected; the glory of the skillful motions were lost in the quick tides of an aggressive battle.
Lynx Alacult - October 2, 2004 08:19 PM (GMT)
He smiled Misdirection was a powerful tool to have in a battle, a moment before he reached Sargoth he sheathed his weapons and in one quick motion he launched him self at sargoths weapon no more than a foot away he grabed ahold of the pole part with both hands and in a split second not giveing the god much time to react he swoung his body sideways around the pole part of Mekki-Meru his leg lashed out as he came towards sargoth and kicked towards his chest to knock him back, his wings were tilted in a manor that if the god wanted to pull the vanishing act with his weapon again he would be able to push him self back up with his wings for another perhaps more effective attack.
"..................."
Sargoth - October 2, 2004 09:57 PM (GMT)
Sargoth shimmered and faded away from visibility as both himself and his weapon blinked out of existence while Lynx was still horizontally positioned in the air. He had moved just in time to make it physically impossible for Lynx to recover from the fall. It was only possible for him to taste the ground of the arena given the lack of anything to aid his recovery now that the God had moved away entirely. He stood instead behind Lynx, watching the action unfold against an opponent who was not there. Standing at ease with Meru planted on the ground, held verticle with his right hand, he shook his head slowly. His left hand idly toyed with an arrow that was spun around over his fingers. He had considered the messy results if he had released an arrow instead of waiting. Perhaps it just did not pay to challenge gods, especially for the purpose of increasing personal standing.
Lynx Alacult - October 3, 2004 04:30 PM (GMT)
Sargoth was...Toying with him...and their was nothing he could do about it as he was he slamed into the ground his left wing was able to turn him over and nothing more he slamed onto the hard plartofrm and bounced back a few feet. he stabed the long sword he held in his right hand into the ground and used it to help push him up he looked to the god as he stode up again.
"...I can see you rely deeply on your magic...."
He nodded to his statement and watched his movments intently but a thought came to mind as they were at the stand still ".Am i realy weak?.." He thought about that for a moment haveing bested many warriors in his time only to be toyed with by this god.
Sargoth - October 4, 2004 12:38 AM (GMT)
"If you consider it magic to step forward," Sargoth commented. A solar step was simply an attachment to him, not magic. Just as Lynx could breath and raise his sword in defense, Sargoth could move from place to place. Now done playing with the arrow, he threw it aside with disinterest, not watching as it dissappeared into nothingness before hitting the ground.
He scanned the combatant with dull eyes as he continued, "Perhaps you have yet to realize that there is a gap between us and you must account for that if you hope to come close to holding your own in a spar. It was a foolish challenge to begin with, but being unprepared only worsened the situation for you. I suggest you rise to meet your responsibilities in this battle or conceed."
Mekki-Meru blinked out of sight once again, this time not returning. Instead, it seemed like a razor sharp dagger had replaced the large weapon in his hand. There was no way to tell if this was a serious alteration or if Sargoth was still relieving his idleness.
Lynx Alacult - October 4, 2004 10:51 AM (GMT)
"..Perhaps it was infact a foolish challange, as i am now i do not pose much of a challange to you.."
He sighed for a moment but dident sheath his weapons he had challanged the god and he needed to see it all the way through his mind scaned for diffrent battle plans on how to achive a greater goal, he stode their for a moment the gods words slowely sinking into his head, maybe the "Solar Step" was much like his Wings which enabled him to fly but were not magical they were simply their he took note of that and looked up towards Sargoth.
He rose his left arm pointing the blade he held their out towards sargoth, the blade in his right hand he held it in an outward mannor away from his body, in a flash of blinding speed he atempted yet another chain off attacks watching his opponets movements intently as not to be caught off guard.
As he came to his opponet he swoung the blade in his right hand in a round mannor bringing it down to the ground then up towards sargoths bottom left side with a decent amount of force behind it.
OOC:..This may sound stupid but you play Soul Calibur 2?
Sargoth - October 5, 2004 06:18 AM (GMT)
Sargoth matched Lynx's charge as he hurtled himself forward for another attack. The God of Day kept his body straight in a normal charge, but he began to drop his shoulder. As the blade was lowered to attack with an upward slash, the speeding guardian revealed his plan. Using his opposite hand to reach across and latch onto Lynx's striking arm, he managed to hold the sword away from his body as he spun around. Using his spare shoulder and arm as a driving force, he formed a wedge by inserting himself within the striking arc of normal swordplay. He had snuck into a precious opening in a charging blow, one usually inaccessible except by the exceptionally talented or exceptionally lucky.
His momentum had not been used up simply entering the hole, but rather was still at nearly full velocity. Using his large bodyweight in the strike, Sargoth rammed his trailing elbow further backward than necessary to form the wedge. The intention was to drive a strong, blunt force into Lynx's rib and drive him back. At the same time, with a firm grip still on the unreacted right hand of his opponent, he pulled hard on the wrist in order to compound the stress on the body behind him. He had hoped to either disarm the sword or cause Lynx to be tossed to the side in a spin due to the unbalanced force of the attack. Either result would probably render him less able to counterattack.
((OOC: I played Soul Calibur 2 when I thought of the name Rekki/Mekki-Meru ;)))
Lynx Alacult - October 5, 2004 11:15 PM (GMT)
He smiled as Sargoth atempted to ram him but as his opponet atempted to drive him back he grabed sargoths other wrist and lept up into the air his wings flaping a few times to balance his body off the ground, he brought back his legs and began to rapidly kick Sargoth in the chest with brute force no longer on the ground but latched to Sargoth it was not his best course of action but it would sufice for now.
a slight anger riseing in him, Sargoth may notice a flicker of Dark energy within him every now and then as he attacked He broke free of the Gods grip and fliped backwards bringing his leg around like lighting and kicking in an upward mannor Towards Sargoths Jaw landing on the ground a good ways away from him.
".........................."
OOC:...Yeah i was playing it the other night on PS2 and i was useing Taki and noticed her weapons were the same lol
Sargoth - October 6, 2004 12:18 AM (GMT)
((OOC: Try to avoid godmoding... also keep in mind that according to what you have written, you either forgot about your swords or simply discarded them.))
The final upward kick toward Sargoth's jaw caught only the day's air as the god blinked from view, once again appearing further forward and just in the right place. Lynx was still recovering from the final attack and was now easy prey after abandoning his two swords. The formidable form of the guardian towered over his prey, seemingly unphased by the several kicks to his chest. There was not even a sign of heavy breathing. Instead, the white form reached down with his right hand, having let his dagger remain in his left, and grabbed Lynx by the throat. He squeezed tightly and picked the man up into the air, allowing his body to dangle from the vice grip. Sargoth was not entirely sure that his opponent could breathe but that would not be an issue.
His fingers would definately leave bruising at the leasy, they being the tools of containment for this combatant. All of his strength went into clinging to the soft throat, so no escape was possible. Sargoth had learned that if he felt like holding a dragon to the ground, he could do so. Such were the powers of a diety.
Annoyed by the man's attack, the God of Day pulled back his left hand and sent it screeching into Lynx's chest with a powerful force. Luckily, the dagger had dissappeared back to nothingness in mid swing, or the blow would have been deadly. Sargoth felt his fist cause a crater in his victim's chest, directly below his lowest ribs, and he knew that would cause more damage than anyone would like to discuss. To finalize the insult, he drew Lynx back with his right arm and tossed him aside to the ground like a rag doll, letting the dust settle after being disturbed by the dead weight.
Both of Lynx's swords lay unused and discarded behind Sargoth. He contemplated the chances of allowing Lynx to rearm himself.
((OOC: We'll leave the godmoding here. Eye for an eye, now we can continue as normal and allow the other person to decide what hits and what misses.))
Lynx Alacult - October 6, 2004 12:33 AM (GMT)
OOC:..Sorry for the forced hit and Godmodeing, dident mean it lol i was atempting to post here rather quickly so i just said the first thing that came to mind and i guess i did forget the weapons so they are discarded because of my mistake allright?...lol first time iv godmoded i think..
He was an ant to this god nothing more nothing less Sargoth could have done this in the first place and ended the entire thing but he dident and Lynx did not quite understand that he atempted to push him self up his wings folded aginst his back he shook his head caughing up a good amount of blood, he was not about to call it quits though he made him self stand up and take flight once again, his left hand holding the lower rib area Sargoth had nailed with a devestating punch.
"......................."
He landed near the god still holding his side he glanced back at him for a moment something lingering within his mind a question or sorts.
"......How did you become so strong...theirs something more to being a god...and your combat...where did you learn this?..."
He was rahter annoyed haveing spent a good part of his life training only to be crushed by the god which he had half espected anyway but not to this degree.
Sargoth - October 6, 2004 10:15 PM (GMT)
"Wolves are born with the call of the hunt buried deep within their muscular bodies, just as humans are born with the capacity for art, logic, and laughter. They are natural extensions of the beings and act as a basic instinct in some of the most dire of circumstances. Just as they are endowed with qualities, so are guardians. Created to protect the elementals and their derivations, a natural instinct for combat, strategy, and loyalty are obviously necessary," Sargoth explained, remaining somewhat vague. It had also helped that his sole purpose for about one hundred years was constant fighting.
The God of Day looked over his injured opponent and evaluated his form. He did not seem up to combat, at least from the outside, so he felt it was necessary to request victory. "Do you conceed this battle, Lynx Alacult?"
Lynx Alacult - October 6, 2004 10:29 PM (GMT)
He nodded to the God as he spoke to him and a few thoughts crossed his head how did the god know is name he never spoke it he shruged that thought off and looked towards him a responce of his own comeing to.
"..Do i have a choice in the matter?...perhaps we may meet again on better terms, ill stop by your temple from time to time to pay a visit..."
He dident think much about it then but he looked up at the god once more.
"...Haha...did i even pose a slight challange?..."
Sargoth - October 9, 2004 08:19 PM (GMT)
"There is always a choice. Just as you had a choice to introduce yourself properly instead of issuing an arbitrary challenge and making me resort to other means of knowing you," Sargoth commented, marking the method used to begin the battle.
He looked over his opponent one more time and then continued, "In regards to the challenge, you faired about average. You should not try to focus on the battle that is over but rather how you will fight in your next. For now, I suggest you find a healer, you don't look to have faired so well. Perhaps I will see you at the Temple of Day when you recover."
The God of Day gave a small nod to the fellow warrior and slowly turned away to take his leave.
