Title: Fountain Stand
Kyonis - September 30, 2004 11:26 PM (GMT)
Kyonis drummed his fingers restlessly on the small table in front of him. He sat on a marble fountain, which burbled ceaselessly in the background. Above his head, blocking the sunlight which streamed in from the many windows, a canvas conver was put over Kyonis's stand. Hanging from this canvas was a sign, reading: "Kyonis: Healer for Hire", with the Healer's rune.
Kyonis absentmindedly fiddled with the small amount of healing cures he had placed on the table, awaiting the first person who would request a healing. Kyonis hoped that, so near to the Talas Arena, there would be someone to gain experience on.
Lilith - October 1, 2004 10:27 PM (GMT)
Lilith sat not to far from her fellow healer. She too sat with a sign above her head although hers said, "Lilith for your everyday healing experience." She liked the saying because it made her chuckle every time she looked at it. She walked over to Kyonis to introduce herself. "Hello. I am a healer too. My name is Lilith. What is yours?" She held out her hand and put a polite smile upon her face. She liked his stands and thought about buying one of his healing cures or perhaps some herbs. She was running low on those despite the fact the day had been going along quite boringly. Not that many people stopped for healings. She supposed most had bought their own healing spells.
Skorne - October 2, 2004 03:21 AM (GMT)
Skorne stepped apprehensively into the Healing Hall, unsure as to how they could help him. True he was suffering from an ailment, but he doubted it was one that could be fixed with a healing spell. He had decided to come here as a last resort. He had been without a memory of his past for a while now, and the hallucinations he had been seeing where getting worse. He had finally sheltered his pride and had come here, asking for help. He was a bit unsure as to where he was supposed to go, he had never been here before, and he didn't know how things were run. He just hoped that someone there could help him in some way, any way. He saw to people standing there talking, he wasn't sure if they were healers, but he wasn't getting anywhere by just standing here. He slowly walked over ot them, determined to ask for some help.
Kyonis - October 2, 2004 03:27 AM (GMT)
Kyonis smiled at the female healer who approached him. The day had been very dull as of yet. A conversation would do well as to brighten the mood. "I am Kyonis, beginning healer and mage", Kyonis answered. "So tell me, Lilith, what is it you do, specifically? Any interests other than healing?".
Just as Kyonis asked that, he saw a man enter the Healing Hall, looking quite lost and confused. It didn't appear he was a healer, as he had no materials with him, not even a stand or bag of potions. "Hey, there!", Kyonis called. "Do you seek healing, my friend?".
Kyonis had actually adopted this form of speech from the salesmen in the marketplace nearby. Kyonis had no idea how one was to go about asking one if they sought healing, and so he attempted to treat healing as any other wares he was selling. Perhaps, if this was an incorrect assumption, his new acquantince Lilith could help him learn the ropes of healing.
Lilith - October 2, 2004 03:35 AM (GMT)
Lilith was about to reply until Kyonis get distracted by a strange man that seemed slightly out of place. The man looked almost familiar but Lilith supposed she had probably seen everyone in Imythess at least once. She put on a big smile and walked up to the man as well. "My friend, join us and perhaps one of us can help you." She looked at Kyonis. "That is if Kyonis wouldn't mind sharing a customer." She didn't want to scare the man off with an abrasive attitude so she backed away a step to give the man some room. "I appologize for jumping you so quickly. It's just we haven't had much buisness today. I'm sure you know how things go." She realized she was just chattering away so she closed her mouth and replaced her smile with a blush. She really shouldn't be getting so excited over such things. It couldn't be good for her health. This thought made her want to giggle but she figured the man would think she was a little crazy. She hadn't been a healer long so she was a little nervous about it.
Skorne - October 2, 2004 03:38 AM (GMT)
Skorne had been a bit surprised when the man had shouted at him, but he was grateful that this man was indeed a healer. He nodded to both of them, glad that the first ot people he met were healers, he still doubted that they could help him, but he had to try. Anything was better than not knowing who he was, better than suffering these ceaseless hallucinations that continued to plague him. "Yes, I am looking for a healer, but I am a bit unsure as to whether you will be able to help me. You see, I have no physical problem, it is more of a mental state. I cannot remember my past, and I was looking to see if there was any way that I might get it back. If not, I will be looking for a way to rid myslef of these hallucinations that plague me. I chose to ingore them for a while, but now they are coming with such frequency, that I cannot live my life."
Kyonis - October 2, 2004 03:46 AM (GMT)
Kyonis turned to Lilith and responded, "Of course I would not mind sharing a customer. However, after the man had stated his problem, Kyonis looked sorrowfully at his hands. "However, you will have no reason to share this man with me".
Turning to the man with the mental problem, Kyonis answered, "I am sorry, but I can only heal physical wounds. I do not know Lilith's talents, so perhaps she would be of more help to you". Kyonis sighed. Not only had he failed this man, but he had also failed at his first offer for healing. Perhaps he had not yet learned enough to work in this profession. Kyonis had no idea how to treat mental maladies, such as loss of memory.
Lilith - October 2, 2004 07:27 PM (GMT)
"I do have knowledge in arcana and a few spells that will help out for the time being until I can find a permante cure. As for you", she turned to Kyonis, "I will be needing your expertise. Those cures you made are excellent, even more so than mine! You can help this man more than you think." She smiled at the both of them and turned back to Skorne. "Now what is your name and do you have a place to stay? If not, I can rent you a room cheaply for I am a frequent at the Inn. I heal for them and they give me discounts." She touched his arm and looked into his warm eyes. -I can tell this man is having some sort of conflict with his mind. I pray to the Gods and Goddesses that I can help him.- Her smile didn't waver once.
Skorne - October 3, 2004 03:20 AM (GMT)
Skorne gave a sigh of relief when the healer stated that she could help him. Finally, he could be rid of this cloud of darkness that shrouded his past. "Thank you, I hadn't really expected there to be anyone that could help me, but it was worth a shot." Skorne turned to face the healer that had said he wouldn't be of any help. "Don't worry about it, just do the best you can. Maybe one day you will be a master healer of physical wounds, you never know. Practice with your strengths, and eventually, you will be great." Skorne looked back at the female healer, she had such a warm smile, she truly cared about the people here. "My name is Skorne, and no I don't currently have a place to stay. Don't think that I am going to let you pay for my room, it may be in your name, but I will be paying. It will be the least I can do if your spells work."
Kyonis - October 3, 2004 03:30 AM (GMT)
Kyonis smiled at the look of relief that was so evident on Skorne's face. Kyonis could not tell if Lilith was actually as good as she said, or she was just hoping she could find some way to help. Kyonis helped she could help this man, who appeared so weary of this mysterious burden that he had been force to carry. To forget one's past must be a horrible predicament.
Kyonis looked to the various remedies and herbs that were laid out on Kyonis's table. He did enjoy the acquiring of remedies. He had learned quite a few from studying at the monkhood. Perhaps it was as Lilith had said. Perhaps that was where his talents lay.
