Title: Searching for Bandits

Lamya - September 28, 2004 08:15 PM (GMT)
Lamya walked into the city, halfway expecting to be attacked by bandits or thieves. Even though the city was known for its peace loving people, Lamya knew for a fact that hidden inside the city was a band of bandits. And that was where Lamya was headed. She was searching for members to join R'hul's bandit group and this was her first stop. Hopefully there would be plenty of willing volunteers since R'hul had promised to make each member very rich. Who wouldn't want that chance? She reached the tavern that the bandits were known to hide out at, and waited. Would they come to her or would she have to go to them? She slide out some of her gold and waited for them to try something. The best way to catch a thief is to show them the gold. Lamya smirked at her cleverness and waited.

Ranewen - September 28, 2004 11:05 PM (GMT)
Ranewen was inside the tavern, talking low to the barkeeper who was in front of her. A drink sat in front of her filled with a clear liquid. It wasn't water, though. It was some type of wine. Ranewen picked it up with her left hand and sipped at it as she laughed a bit and the barkeeper kept on talking. Obviously, he was telling her something that actually amused her usually secluded and silent self. She shook her head a few times and seemed to say 'You're crazy' or something of the sort.

She took yet another sip of her wine and placed it down. A hand went to reach for her glass to steal it from her left, but she slammed her fist down hard on his hand. She looked up and shook her head at the poor boy. "Never steal from stealers," she said silently, yet angrily. She turned the boy around, a confused look on his face as if he didn't understand what she had just said. Good... Now go. Leave.

While her head was turned, she noticed Lamya and she looked at the sack of Gold. She couldn't steal from her own friend. Lamya was a thief and she knew all the tricks in the book, she bet. She wouldn't get away with it. She s hrugged her shoulders and looked back at the barkeeper as he continued on amusing her. Occasionally, he would step away while still talking and fill someone's glass. Ranewen patiently watched, a smirk on her face. Sometimes, laughter interrupted her silence.

Outside, her nightmare romaed the streets of Tethyr city, looking at these people curiously. Jordison and Tiu flew overhead of the nightmare and gazed around curiously as well. They chirped every once in a while and talked in their own ways that humanoids couldn't understand. They dove down at people and some shrieked and some screamed and ran away. They thought that they knew the game, so every once in a while, they would pursue the person running away. They would tap their backs and whirl around and begin flying the other way. But the person wouldn't follow and they began to get confused.

Ryu was walking alongside the nightmare, watching the two pseudo-dragons fly around. He didn't do anything to help them. He wanted them to learn from their mistakes, and they eventually would figure their mistakes out. Maybe they wouldn't do it again; maybe they would. But at least they would know why the people ran or swatted things at them. He just shook his head. People yelled at him, thinking that they were his. But when they saw the look in his black, lifeless eyes, they immediately hushed themselves and went back to their own business. He was glad they that noticed that he wasn't normal. He wished not to be bothered by these people. A few woman stared at him in awe, wanting to follow them. They were, obviously, thieves and/or necromancers of some sort.

Lamya - September 28, 2004 11:28 PM (GMT)
Lamya waited patiently for a few minutes then turned her attention elsewhere. She heard laughter coming from the other side of the bar and she turned her head. Spotting Ranewen, she grinned, grabbed her sack of gold, and walked over to her old friend.

"Ranewen. Such a pleasure to see you again. Are you still reeking havoc upon the world?" She chuckled at her own joke. "Mind if I join you." She sat without waiting for an answer. Lamya thought it was quite odd to find Ranewen had traveled so far. -She must be on a job or perhaps she has heard of the demon R'hul and is here for the same reason as me.-

She turned her attention on the bartender. "Are you going to sit there and stare at us or give us a drink?" The bartender glared at her for obviously interupting Ranewen's and his conversation. "I want a glass of what she's having. And quickly." He groaned and moved away to get her a glass of the strangly clear wine. "So Ranewen, have you heard of a group of bandits that stay around here? Or perhaps you would be interested in a special job. Would be like old times, eh? The two of us fighting side by side once again."

Her thoughts wondered off as she recalled the last time they had been on the job together. "We make such a great team." The barkeeper returned with her drink and glared at her some more. "That will be all. You can go now." He made an 'umph' noise and walked away again.

Skorne - September 28, 2004 11:43 PM (GMT)
Skorne sat at one of the corner tables in the bar, watching the strange girl carefully. She was either ignorant or brave, to leave a sack of money sitting on a table in this place. He watched as she got up and walked over to the bar, apparently she had spotted someone that she knew. He fingered the hilt of his scimitar as he watched them talk, wishing he could get close enough to hear what they were saying. He decided to try, what did he have to lose, other than his life? He stood up, and walked over to the bar, acting like he was going to order a drink. When the bartender came over, he took his time selecting, all the while paying attention to what they were saying.

He finally ordered a drink and waited for it to be delivered. He tuned his ears to what the two women were talking about, and almost spoke when one of them mentioned "a group of bandits that stay around here", but he managed to stop himself. The bartender gave him his drink, and Skorne dropped a few coins onto the bar, taking small sips to buy himself as much time as possible to eavesdrop on the two women.

Ranewen - September 28, 2004 11:54 PM (GMT)
Ranewen turned her head to a familiar voice. She smiled at Lamya and nodded a hello. She wondered what new business she spoke of. “Well, I suppose I could give it a try, eh? It can’t hurt to try things!” She laughed and took a sip of her wine once more and glanced around the tavern. She still wondered what Lamya wished for them to do together, or for her to join something. Since it was her good friend, she would do anything and try anything to fight by her side. It would be fun, to do what they did best, and especially since they were two friends, to cause havoc again.

Oh, I don’t think I got myself into too much trouble… I got into a fight at the Bloodseal Tavern with a man who – I believe – learned his lessons with messing with me.” She smirked and chuckled a bit and took yet another break to take a drink from the glass of wine. She let her mind wander to that question once more and she decided it was best to ask it. “Now, what is this special job you speak of? Being a part of a group of bandits? I’ll give it a shot I guess.” She smiled and nodded her head, wondering who was the leader. But if Lamya didn’t answer that with her response, she would ask that next.

Finally, Ryu tied up the nightmare outside and came in with the two pseudo-dragons. He pushed a fat man off the stool on the other side of Ranewen and sat down lazily and ordered himself a drink and put it on Ranewen’s tab. She sighed and looked back at Ryu. “Back so soon?” she teased him and he just rolled his eyes and ignored her. Her two pseudo-dragons made their way to their real owner, each on one of her shoulders. They looked at Lamya and only Jordison remembered her. He chirped a hello and Ranewen laughed a bit and shook her head from side to side. She glanced out the window at her nightmare and used telekinesis to untie the rope and let the horse run free through the city.

When her refill came, she instantly took a long sip of it and looked around the tavern as some eyes wandered to them, as if wondering what they were talking about. They probably heard the words ‘group’ and ‘bandits’ and wondered what they were talking about. She wanted to yell at them, but these were other thieves and bandits, so she decided better of it and looked back towards Lamya, a smirk on her face as she waited to learn what she was talking about. Although very curious,. She kept her patient look on her face and just watched Lamya, every once in a while taking a sip from her wine and placing it back down.

Lamya - September 29, 2004 12:17 AM (GMT)
"Oh Hello little dragon." She glanced at Ryu. Something seemed a little strange about him but she shook her head and turned her eyes back to Ranewen. "So you got into some trouble at the ole bloodseal? Wish I had been there. Not much has happened with me. I need to get into more trouble." She smirked. Glancing around, she noticed that it seemed one man in particular was watching them. "Hey Ranewen, do you know that man over there?" She nodded her head in his direction. "He seems to be paying close attention to the two of us." She kept her eyes on him while she sipped her drink. She wasn't sure if she was ready to announce to the world about the bandit group. If everyone heard, surely it would get around to the people she wouldn't want to hear. She realized she had probably been talking too loudly and therefore she would be the cause of the group getting caught before it ever formed. She thought, -I better capture this man before he has heard too much and tells others.- "I'll be right back Rae." She got up and walked over to the man. "Hello sir. I couldn't help but notice you seem to be avidly staring at me and my companion. Why don't you come join us?" If he wasn't going to join them willingly then Lamya would have to use force. What a shame it would be to give herself away so quickly.

Skorne - September 29, 2004 12:25 AM (GMT)
Well, that didn't work that well skorne thought as he slowly stood up. He looked at Lamya a little bit, before deciding upon his answer. "I guess it wouldn't cause to much harm for me to join you." Skorne was on his gaurd, since she had caught him eavesdropping, she might try to dispose of him at her first oppurtunity. He walked over to where she had been sitting with her companion, and nodded to the other women he saw. He figured since she already knew that she had been listening, he might as well put it all out on the table. "So, what's this I hear about a group of bandits coming together, sounds pretty interesting?" Skorne kept his left hand on the hilt of his scimitar, watchful should she try to kill him swiftly. He doubted that she knew he was interested in joining them, so he had to be careful until she did.

Velien - September 29, 2004 12:40 AM (GMT)
Velien had only been in the city for a few hours, but didn't waste any time wandering the streets and alleys. When she came to the small tavern, she walked in without hesitation and sat down at a vacant table towards the corner, facing the entrance and the occupants of the room. She was carefully scanning the faces of every person inside and any who entered. There was a good chance she wouldn't find him today, but nothing wrong with trying...

The young planeswalker couldn't hear the group at the bar from where she was. All she could do was watch in interest as they spoke in low voices. Velien could almost sense the darkness around her. It wasn't like the overwhelming darkness a demon radiated, but she felt it clinging to the very building. It was probably one of the darker taverns one could find in Tethyr and not an improbable place to locate her quarry.

Lamya - September 29, 2004 12:49 AM (GMT)
Lamya sighed. "So you did overhear. You know it's not very nice to eavesdrop. Since you already know, I might as well explain myself further. A demon named R'hul is gathering a group of the top best criminals and theives. He is going to make sort of like a bandit gang in which it is promised each of you will become very wealthy. We plan on invading several cities and perhaps buring a few of them to the ground." She smiled for this thought pleased her. "If either of you are interested, then once I have assembled a team, we will go to the middle of the desert where we will meet up with R'hul and his group. So how does that sound to each of you?" She kept her voice low, in case anothers were listening. It seemed as if the whole tavern were interested in knowing what was going on. And that didn't settle well with her. "Oh and my name is Lamya for those that didn't know." She glanced once again at Ryu. "What are all of your names?"

Ranewen - September 29, 2004 01:06 AM (GMT)
Ranewen nodded in greeting to the eavesdropper, yet refused to say anything to him. She shook her head at him and sighed. “You need to learn how to eavesdrop… without getting caught,” she said and shook her head slowly and sighed as if she pitied him. “And no, I don’t know him…” she said and shook her head once more before looking around. She saw a woman that seemed to be watching them, but she was out of range of hearing. So, she did nothing about it. She turned her back to her as she looked over at Lamya, hoping she had the information she was seeking.

Yes, I will join this group of yours. Fighting a long you should be very fun like it has in the past. But we'll need the top thieves,” she said in almost a whisper, that way no one would be able to hear but Lamya since her voice was barely audible even to her. She leaned against the bar with her right elbow, facing the eavesdropper and Lamya at the same time. She still wondered what that girl was doing behind her. She frowned to herself and shrugged, glancing back once again. She almost wanted to go up to her and ask her what she was looking at, but she refused to start any more trouble at the given time. She glanced back at Ryu who did not answer for himself. “That is Ryu... Don't bother asking. He is my shadowdragon, he is just in his human form.

Ryu watched the girl curiously. The dragon – in human form – walked towards this girl that Ranewen was looking at and he smiled in his own draconic way. Some found it charming, others found it weird; some even ran away from him, and others didn’t noticed. He stopped by her right side and tried to take her eyes off of Ranewen, Lamya, and Skorne so she wouldn’t hear. “Hello. May I ask as to who you are? You seem new to this area. I haven’t seen you in here ever before. Are you looking for someone? Perhaps I can help…” he said and waited patiently for an answer. He leaned against the bar and eventually ordered himself another drink, put on Ranewen’s tab. His attention, then, turned back to this woman who he was talking to and he stood up straight, his black hair falling into his eyes. He shook his head, that way he could actually see. Damn hair… How can humans stand it? he asked himself and shook his head.

Skorne - September 29, 2004 01:12 AM (GMT)
"Thanks for the tip" Skorne said sarcastically. He didn't really care that he had been caught, this idea of joining with toher bandits sounded promising. Surely multiple bandits could steal more than one or two. "My name is Skorne, so now you know me." Skoren listened as Lamya laid out the plan that had been thought up by this demon. Something about the word demon seemed to jog the back of his memory, he suddenly saw several images pass in front of his eyes. He ignored them, getting quite used to the hallucinations by now. He still hadn't figured out why they came, but he didn't care any more, he had chosen to ignore them. "Well, so far this sounds very intriging, perhaps you could tell us some more about this Ryu." Skorne wanted to learn as much information as he could before he agreed to do anything, he didn't want to be forced into a position from which he couldn't escape.

Lamya - September 29, 2004 01:21 AM (GMT)
"Well see I don't know much about R'hul except that he wants to be the leader of this bandit get together. And I will be second in command. We do need alot of people to join, so if you know people tell them to come on down." She giggled. "So are you in or not?" Her eyes followed Ryu and she realized yet another person seemed to be staring intently at them. -Is it just me or is everyone staring?!- She shook her head and smiled at her company. "Let me buy you all drinks. Barrrrteeenddderr!" The barkeeper took his time walking over. "What?" Lamya glared at him. "That's no way to act. Now get three ales." She tossed a few coins onto the bartop. He grabbed them and walked away. "I do hope you all like ale?"

Ranewen - September 29, 2004 01:28 AM (GMT)
Ranewen thought for a moment and nodded, telling Lamya that she was in. “I’m all for it. And Skorne, I’m afraid I can help you learn about this R'hul. I haven't a clue of who this demon is. I have never met him before. Well, I don think i have…” she shrugged her shoulders and looked back once more at Ryu as he talked to the girl who was also watching them as if she wanted in. Yet, she looked too much of a light person to do such evil acts. “Ale is fine to me. I like any and all drinks. Blood included.” She refused to lie to her Lamya, so she told the truth about her liking blood. “I don’t know why, but I do…” She shrugged. “You might have already told me this, but I have forgotten if you have said so… When will this ‘meeting’ be in the desert with R’hul?” she asked curiously.

((I have to go... Please don't go more than two posts ahead of me! Lol. I'l lget lost!))

Lamya - September 29, 2004 11:07 PM (GMT)
"As soon as there are a considerable amount of willing people. Shouldn't take too long. If you have friends around the city that would like to join this guild, then please feel free to tell them about it. But don't tell too many people. You never know who's listening." The last she said quietly. The barkeeper walked over with their drinks and sloshed them onto the table. "Jee thanks for the hospitality." She stared at his back as he turned abruptly and walked away. "What a nice man." She shook her head and turned back to Rae.

Skorne - October 1, 2004 12:06 AM (GMT)
Sounds interesting, but I can't help you in bringing my "friends" I don't have any. If I did then I can't remember them, so I wouldn't be able to find them anyway." Skorne thought over this in his mind, he should be able to get to the meeting and still have time for the rest of what he had planned to do. It all depended on how this "meeting" would go. He hoped they would jsut show up, meet everybody, and then leave before to much talking was done. He wondered what these other bandits would think about him since he was noticably an elf, most elves were known for being good. He would probably be scrutinized severly, he hated that.

Lamya - October 1, 2004 10:13 PM (GMT)
"Well it seems to me that we've got everyone we're going to get. Perhaps you would like to meet R'hul now?" She siped her ale and sighed. -This should be good. I've got three people already willing to go. R'hul should be pleased.- She smiled and turned back to stare at the lonely girl in the corner. "Perhaps we should invite that girl to join us. Maybe she has something to offer. Rae how about you tell your pet to bring the lady over to us." In one casual movement, she swiped her drink from the bartop and swiftly plopped down onto a stool. She grinned towards her company.
