Title: A Fight

Veronna Darkblade - September 22, 2004 06:28 PM (GMT)
Veronna stood in the middle of the arena, no else was there. She had her sword out and was doing some practice swings. She loved the Talas arena, it was her favorite place in Talas, well the arena and the Elfsong inn.

She swung the sword in a vertical swing, and then she swung it horizantil. She was going to do a upwards cut but she stopped half way through the swing. She looked down at the blade, and knew this wasn't the sword for her; her hands were ment to hold scimitars, not a longsword. She threw the sword on the ground, speaking quietly, "Nindol velve zhah naut ment whol uns'aa, drill nausbyr zhah natha siasta, whol Usstan inbal refused ulu dro saph natha Ilythiiri. Usstan lor saph natha Ilythiiri, drill Usstan dro saph natha rivvil. Zhah natha rivvil llaar vel'bol Usstan tlun sieva tlu?" she looked down at the sword, "Usstan tlun confused ulu vel'bol Usstan zhal'la tlu. Nau uss ssinssrinen natha confused Quar'valsharess, lu' nindel zhah vel'bol Usstan tlun, mayoe nindelen ele nau uss chu ulu uns'aa whol xxizz; p'wal Usstan shlu'ta naut xxizz usstan." She knew she was speaking to herself, but she didn't care.

She just stood there, not moving a muscle. She then looked around at the empty arena, wishing someone was there...

demus - September 24, 2004 04:31 AM (GMT)
Demus dropped from the sky as he usually did when he was to enter the arena...he didnt much care for the hustle and bustle of the areas around the entrances...he landed rather harshly , not badly, just didnt slow down much before touching down, a large cloud of orang-ish dust settled after a moment, and he noted the toehr person in the arena...it was Verona...he had met her before, talked to her even, but couldnt recall much of their time together, as he had been away for so long...a eternity it seemed at times....he walked untill he was around ten feet from her, and bowed slightly, then looked up at her while still bent over at the waist to speak" What brings you to the arena, not that you need a reason, being a Goddess and all, but perhaps there was a specific reason, or thing you had in mind that i could help you with?" he smirked after he finished speaking...he knew she was likely here for one reason....and that suited him fine, he had spared little in his time away, the beings he was hunting didnt put up much of a physical fight..mostly magical combat, which he didnt care for personally, if it helped, ti helped, but if not needed he never resorted to it.

Veronna Darkblade - September 25, 2004 01:32 AM (GMT)
Veronna quickly looked up when she saw dust fly and when it cleared she saw someone she had only seen once or twice, She sort of forgot who he was but she remembered his face. When he spoke she sighed and looked down at her sword which still laied on the ground, and she knew he would want to spar with her but she wasn't sure she wanted too. "I don't know why I'm here..." she looked up at him "And I doubt you can help me." She bent down and picked up her sword.

She stared at her sword that was in her hand now, "Would you trust someone who didn't even know who she herself was?" She looked up at him her eyes watery. She wasn't sure he could give her an answer but she had to try.

demus - September 26, 2004 05:16 AM (GMT)
Demus smilled at the goddess, and stood up, allowing his cloak to cover his weapons, and spoke " My dear...i trust no one, regardless of their mental state, perhaps you would like to reconvine somewhere quiet and speak of things that trouble you?" Demus walked slowly towards the goddess...his hands in pllane sight, so that shwe would not be startled...

Veronna Darkblade - September 26, 2004 11:47 PM (GMT)
Veronna stared at him, "You know, I never liked you, I never trusted you, so you would be the last person I will talk to about my feelings." Her mood had changed sundenly and now fire burned in her eyes. "But you probably wouldn't understand feelings would you? I bet you don't feel emotion, then do you feel pain?" With that she slashed out with her sword in a horizontal cut. She knew perfectly what she was doing, she wasn't leting the other side of her take over, or was she? She didn't know what side she should trust, but she knew she didn't like Demus, and she was well aware that he was armed. And he would fear her after this battle was done.

demus - September 27, 2004 05:22 AM (GMT)
Demus closed his eyes and blinked to the area directly behind Veronna, he left his weapons in thier sheaths, for he had no interest in attacking her in such a mannor, she must have mistaken his actions as a threat, he ment only to be honest, he trusted no one, he would not lie for the sake of a gods feelings, but that did not mean he had a reason to make an attempt at her life..."Perhaps you mistook my actions, goddess, but if its combat you desire, ill gladly aid you in quenching your thirst., i may be merely mortal, flesh and bone, but my bone is strong, and my flesh is thick, you may find more than you bargained fro in tis mortal." He still allowed his weapons their silence, he would not draw until she made another attack at him, he simply stood a few feet behind her, his eyes empty and black, his wings held ever tight to his frame, his mind ever focused on the creature before him.

Veronna Darkblade - September 27, 2004 05:33 PM (GMT)
Veronna spun around quickly and just watched and listened to him. "You speak with strong words mortal, I could kill you with a snap of my fingers if I wanted." She smiled and started circling him, "You can never kill me, never, and in a melee battle you would last only a few minutes." She stoppped her red eyes staring into his black ones. She never had threated anyone like this before, she never used her the real power she held, but why was she doing it now? She looked down at her hands; hands of an immortal, hands that could kill someone in a blink of an eye, but she never used that power. At times she wished she never had it, she wished she was mortal like before, but that opption died awhile ago.

It was time she used what powers she had, it was time people knew who she was, to show then that she was just as strong as any of the other gods. But she should show her power on this man? She never really liked him, it would make her laugh to see him die. "Ussta dos ragar gre'as'anto wun l' olath rendan d' uoi'nota." She closed her eyes and let the power flow through her and her sword. She opened her eyes and this time they were bright red and glowing and all the power in her seemed to radiate off her, "Usstan orn naut tlu ignored jala mzild" with that she let it go, the color of the magic was dark red, and it shot out in every direction, most of it aimed at Demus.

Veronna felt the power in her finger tips, and felt it in her sword, she felt in her and around her. If no one wanted to follow her then fine, but perhaps they just needed to see what she was capable of. "Usstan tlun l' Quar'valsharess d' Velven!"

demus - September 27, 2004 06:30 PM (GMT)
Demus could tell this god wished to play..."So be it, you may kill me, but I sall show you my power before i elave this realm foolish god, I am but mortal, but I do not fear mortality...perhaps i shall make YOU fear mortality!" Demus cast his own magic...he knew he could not win, or even last this one with his brute strength alone...He spoke in a tongue foreign to any who might be present, as his race was long dead...casting the spells bulls strength, unholy aura, and then telekinisis to lift himself into the air, where he then spread his wings, now looking much like a vile angel, black, and demented, he cast dispell magic hoping it might decrease her spells strength at elast a amall amount..before drawing his crossbow and letting fly a steel bolt at her, this immortal god who beseiged him when he had no reason to battle her...his aim was true, she would have to move for this bolt to not strike its target...

Veronna Darkblade - September 29, 2004 02:07 AM (GMT)
Veronna gripped her sword tightly and ran at him, eyes glowing still and when she was close enough to him she leaped up at him swinging her sword upwards at him, using some power for to reach him since he was levitating. After striking at him she fell back down to the ground and landed with ease. She spun around pretty much when she landed, sword ready for another attack.

(Sorry that it is a short post, I want to reply to a few things tonight and don't have much time...)

demus - September 29, 2004 02:23 AM (GMT)
np kiddo...

Demus let the blade slide across his demonic armor, and reveled at the sparks that danced off of the two when they made contact. He then laughed loudly at the goddess, he knew she likely could have done better, but taht was no reason for him to go easy on her, because he knew as soon as he let his guard down, he would be dead.He dropped the crossbow to the arena floor,a s it was quicker than buckling it back to his belt, and drew his Demon blade. As he lunged down at her, he removed a bolt from his belt, a shiny steel bolt, and used the tip to reflect light from the sun into Varillas eyes, speaking as he traveled at highspeed towards her person..."Fear is but my middle name..i shal introduce you to my last...Death!" He did his best to keep the light in her eyes as he flew, but such a small reflector was tough to keep aimed at such a small target.

Ocardonydd - September 29, 2004 02:38 AM (GMT)
Ocar was walking around Talas and dieceded to visit the arena. When he entered he saw Veronna using some sort of magic and another person there, someone he had never seen before. He could tell Veronna wasn't herself, just by her stance he could tell, and she was using magic, that suprised him. When he saw her jump up and attack the other being who was there he knew she didn't hit them very hard, and when the other person dove down, reflecting light in Veronna's eyes, he couldn't stand there anymore; he ran drawing his greatsword and when he was close enough, the other person was nearly to Veronna. Ocar cut in a horizontal swing at the person; not caring if he caused damage or not.

demus - September 29, 2004 04:46 PM (GMT)
Demus did not expect the second person to attack..he noted his presence, but assumed he was a by-stander...when the man did attack, Demus parried to the side, and crashed into the hard arena floor.Demus rolled to his feet, and stood weilding his trusty blade at an angle that was parralell with the arenas floor, he stood, and watched the two before him...He did not know this goddess well...but he knew nothing of this man...what he did know of the goddess told him that she might be a bit insulted by the fact he assumed she needed help against a mortal...Even Demus, as stubborn as he was, knew she could handle herself. Demus stood, and looked at the two before looked at his shoulder which was scraped and the cloth over the one unprotected shoulder, naturally the one he landed on, was tattered from the connection with the sand on the arena floor, he knew the arena floor all too well...he was an arena fighter ...and kjnew that he would not bleed bad due to the sand in the wound, but that also, that it would not heal properly if thesand was not removed soon...but he also knew he had plenty of time to worry about that. He planted the sword firmly into the packed earth of the arena, and jumped to its guard, standing on the sword as if it were a ladder, drew his masterwork slig, loaded a bullit inot its finely crafted fixture, and let fly with all his might, the small lead slug at this newcomer. To dodge this would be the equivelant of dodging an arow fired from a balista, or some other machine...seemingly impossible...In the same instant as he let the slig fly at the mans abdoman, he dropped off the hilt of the blade, and grabbed it as he did so, and charged the man, who he now wished harm for more than he cared to harm Varilla...at least she had given him fair warning...and a reason.

Veronna Darkblade - September 30, 2004 05:55 PM (GMT)
Veronna shielded her eyes from the sun that was reflected at her, she stood her ground though, not planning on moving. But when the sun stopped shining in her eyes she looked up and around, and saw Ocar there. She blinked her eyes to make sure it was him, and when she was sure she started forward at a run, when Demus stood up and hurled a bullet from a sling, and in the same movement started charging at Ocar she didn't know what to do. But she didn't stop moving or thinking; as she ran she sent a bolt of dark red magic at the bullet, which made it shatter, then she placed herself infront of Ocar and stood ready for Demus. No one tried to harm Ocardonydd when she's around, she would die over and over again before that man was touched.

demus - November 14, 2004 05:25 AM (GMT)
Demus charged at the man, and lept into the air at the mans position, his sword held at his side ready to slay the man before him. When the goddess moved between himself and the man, Demusstabbed the sword into the earth, and tumbled to the ground, quickly recovering to a battle stance, and began to circle the two.As he circled, he spoke "why do you protect this man?do you even know him? who is he to you? I see fear in your thoughts. You fear for this mans life yes? " Demus smiled and became silent for a moment..."How amusing. Defend him if you please. but i yearn for combat..and blood..one of you make a move!" Demus jumped back and landed crouched down with one hand out-stretched touching the dusty arena in front of him...and the other holding the sword parallel to the arena floor. A broad smile dragged across his face as he waited.
