Title: In a pub

Kiranni - October 15, 2003 11:06 PM (GMT)
Kiranni sat in a pub drinking...., well she didn't know exactly what it was but it tasted much as you'd expect something to taste in so foul a place as the Underdark; gritty and old. She looked around at the other people in the pub. Mostly foul undercreatures, but she could see some drow dotted through out the place. She took another sip of her drink. She was almost done so she put some grubby coins on the bar to pay for another drink. A shabby, dirty looking goblin next to her reached out to steal her coins when it appeared she wasn't looking. She cast him one of the iciest stares you could imagine and he recoiled with a slight squeak. She watched him until with one last pitiful glance at her he stumbled backwards out of the pub. There truly was no honour among theives. She picked up her money and waited for the bartender to come around again so she could hand it to him in person.

Oppel - October 15, 2003 11:27 PM (GMT)
The door to the pub blew open as it was quite a windy night. Oppel walked in and forced it shut. Once it was closed he put his back to it and looked throughout the pub. Most of them were staring at him and he felt unwanted. The uneasy presence of evil filled Oppel's mind as he casually walked to the bar. He placed some coins down on the table in exchange for some red wine. Once he had recieved his drink, he thanked the barkeep and began to gulp down the wonderful tasting wine, while at the same time keeping one eye on the suspicious people around him.

Kiranni - October 15, 2003 11:38 PM (GMT)
Kiranni watched Oppel enter and wondered why such a distinctly good person such as him would choose so vile a place as this to spend his coin. He sat down farthest away from her and didn't spot her. She frowned but paid Oppel no mind. The bartender finally came round again and finishing her drink in a last great swig she handed him money enough for two drinks. One was for her, the other she sent down to Oppel. She figured he should drink something other than red wine. She scoffed at the thought of wine. Most was to rich for her liking. She shuddered at the thought of it.

Oppel - October 16, 2003 12:03 AM (GMT)
Making sure he had drank every last drop of his red wine, he then set his cup down upon the bar. The barkeep approached with a drink and handed it to him,

"From the woman over there" he said and pointed to Kiranni att he other side of the bar. He had run into this woman before and knew she wasn't so kind. But perhaps she was kind as she did after all buy him a drink. He nodded to the barkeep then turned his head in Kiranni's direction and nodded to her as well. He tipped the cup back into his mouth letting the cool drink that settled inside come flowing out.

Kiranni - October 16, 2003 10:30 AM (GMT)
Kiranni gave the slightest of nods in Oppel's direction. After that though she turned away from him and began talking darkly to the drow next to her. They spoke for several minutes before they inclined their heads to each other and the drow left with the door clattering shut as he did. She smirked secretively like something she didn't want others to know about had happened. She swivelled back in her seat to face Oppel. He didn't even glance her way and she chuckled to herself at that. So she stared straight at him and waited for his eyes to flicker in her direction. He couldn't ignore her forever, so she unblinkingly stared at him.

Oppel - October 16, 2003 11:57 AM (GMT)
Oppel was so focused on this drink that he didn't look up from it until he was done, for anything. Once he was dont he set his cup on the bar and stood up from his chair. He glanced around the room and caught the eyes of Kiranni gazing at him. He smirked then turned away and began heading for the front door. He opened it and the winds seemed lighternow and he stepped outside leaving the door open behind him. He stood there for seeral minutes before whistling for Gwaith.

Kiranni - October 16, 2003 12:12 PM (GMT)
Kiranni raised her eyebrows indignantly. So she turned back to the bar, gulped down the rest of her drink and left the pub behind Oppel.

"Fine, leave and don't even talk to me."

She said coolly, turning away from him arms crossed. Then hearing him call his unicorn she laughed for a moment before she whispered to him.

"The Underdark is no place for a unicorn."

She laughed again barely unsble to control her mirth at what a unicorn was doing in the Underdark.

Oppel - October 16, 2003 12:23 PM (GMT)
Oppel turned to face Kiranni,

"There is always a place for good,"he said to her. From behind him he heard a snort and turned to find Gwaith there waiting for him. He reached up one hand onto gwaith and swung himself up onto his precious unicorn. With a few Sinarin words the horse Oppel looked back to Kiranni before galloping off into the distance.

Kiranni - October 16, 2003 12:43 PM (GMT)
Kiranni shook her head in laughter. She watched Oppel until he disappeared into the distance then went back into the pub. She bought herself a last drink and was talking secretively to a drow in the corner before she nodded good bye, finished off her drink and exited the pub. She walked down a side street and kept walking.

Oppel - October 16, 2003 05:52 PM (GMT)
Oppel rode Gwaith some distance before he hasd to stop. It had gotten to dark and he didn't want to continue to make the horse run as it may have hurt itself. He jumped off of the unicorn and began to pat its back. Several minutes passed as he continued to rub his hand on the unicorn's back. He then began to walk and the unicorn followed behind him.

Kiranni - October 16, 2003 09:51 PM (GMT)
Kiranni kept on walking. She couldn't remember which direction Oppel had gone in but she had the sneaking suspicion that she had gone in the same direction he had gone. In a moment it became quite clear she had. She heard the snort of a unicorn. She shuddered. She rubbed her forehead and cursed under her breath. Only the words "unintelligent", "Oppel", and "unicorns" were distinguished as she shook her head disdainfully. She continued walking and, in a moment, Oppel and his beast came into view. She kept on walking and was hoping not to be spotted by Oppel. Being seen in the company of a good being, and a filthy unicorn in the Underdark were not high on her list of things to do in life. She tryed to conceal her face slightly by pretending to scratch her nose as she came towards him. It was a pretty flimsy ruse but she needed to go this way to buy something from a shop not far from where she was and this was the quickest way.

Oppel - October 16, 2003 10:20 PM (GMT)
Oppel glanced down at the figure passing by. It was hard for him to tell who it was from where she was walking but then he remembered the face from earlier in the bar. It was Kiranni, the one who thought he was to good for the Underdark along with his precious unicorn. He stared at her while fiddling with the unicorn's long white air. He noticed how the white of the unicorn gave off a little light. He then jumped up onto the horse while keeping his eyes on Kiranni.

Kiranni - October 16, 2003 10:34 PM (GMT)
"Oh great"

Kiranni mumbled silently to herself. She knew for certain now that he had, in fact, seen her. She sped up her pace hoping against hope that Oppel had no intention of following her. Please don't follow me, please, pleeaaase don't follow she thought fleetingly to herself. She thought herself likely to over-react if he did. She just wanted to do what she needed to do and be done with it, and she pretty much knew that with Mister Happy McUnicorn trailing her, her journey would not be a happy or short one. She repressed a snarl at why someone she barely knew should follow her. She didn't think he would, but there was still that slight chance. She clenched her fists in her anger and willed him not to follow her.

Oppel - October 16, 2003 10:41 PM (GMT)
Oppel sighed at Kiranni and hoped that not all people in the Underdark were as harsh as her. He turned Gwaith to face her direction and called in Sindarin,

"Nor!" The unicorn startted to run and as he passed Kiranni Oppel gave her a snarled look. He sped further and further away from the pub.

Kiranni - October 16, 2003 10:52 PM (GMT)
Kiranni sighed at her luck and removed her hand from her face. She gave a last hurried look in the direction Oppel had disappeared into before continuing on her way. Her last bit of anger disappeared as quickly as it had come but she knew it could, and would, flare up at any given time for perhaps no reason at all. She just hoped she could keep her temper in check for now.
