Title: Class Time

Theyr-faa - September 20, 2004 01:03 AM (GMT)
Theyr-faa walked down the seemingly empty corridors, looking for room number 21, where Ace had told her to meet him. She had not found the room yet, for the academy was very large. As Theyr-faa walked along the corridors she looked at the strange paintings that lined the walls. Some were beautiful, pictures of a spell being conjured, and others were hideous, the faces of those who were terribly corrupt, and other such grotesque items. Theyr-faa stared at the doors now, some were different than the others, and her curiosity was overwhelming as she looked at some of the doors. Many were beautiful, intricately designed in elven or other ancient writings. Others were black and dark, and these were intriguing to Theyr-faa.

Finally she found room 21, and she sighed as she reached towards the door handle. She suddenly felt a strange tingling sensation run through her fingers up to her arm and into her head, and it was as if the spell appeared before her eyes, and she said quickly and correctly, and the door unlocked itself. She looked inside but did not see anyone, so she decided to wait for Ace. She went up to the desk at the front of the room and sat down in the chair.

Master Ace - September 20, 2004 01:26 AM (GMT)
Master Ace had casted invisibility on himself as he wondered at what spells Theyr-faa was interested in working with. He looked down on the teacher's desk in fornt of him. He bent over and rummaged through one of the drawers. There were a lot of paper inside. None of them would hold any us. Ace closed the drawer as the enchanted door opened itself. He was almost surprised to see Theyr-faa when he looked up. "Ah, Hello Theyr-faa-," Master Ace said before he noticed he was still invisible. He quickly waved his hands as he stood up and quickly became visible. His hair green as when she first met him and still in the same messy condition. He wore his elegant cloak of Spiderkind. The cloak was white with black stripes that formed a design simmilar to a spiderweb aroud the cloak. "Sorry about that. I'm glad you came. Now what spells shall we be working with?" Master Ace asked. If she took no preferance he would teach general magic. It was is for him to do and easy for many to learn.

Theyr-faa - September 20, 2004 01:44 AM (GMT)
Theyr-faa went into the room and gasped as she heard a voice saying hello to her, but it quickly faded when she saw that it was Ace. If she had been in Cincotea, she never would even have gotten scared, but so many people here wanted to kill...

"Hello Ace, it's quite all right." She told him as he apologized. "I don't really know what I would like to learn..." Theyr-faa said quietly, her hair was hanging in front of her face and her shoulders were bent over a little bit. She felt horrible and very tired.

As she looked around the room she saw many other pictures, and she thought she saw a flash of light in the corner of the room.

Master Ace - September 20, 2004 02:00 AM (GMT)
She did infact see a flash of light. It came from the window. There was a class being held outdoors, but they were a good bit away. Ace saw the flash as well. He snapped his fingers and the shutters fellover the windows. Juast as the shutters bclosed off all outisde light, the the candles of the chandaleir overhead sparked into life and illuminated the room.

"Very well we will go over simply spells untill you get a feel for what you want. Our first spell fill be sheild," Ace said. Ace then cleared said a few arcahic words as he slowly went through the motions of the spell. A transparent shield appeared before him when he had finished. "This is a spell that will protect you from projectiles and the next spell I will teach you. I want you to try the spell. I know you may not get it on your first try and it might take even longer for you to master, but give it an honest try," Ace smiled.

(you don't have to buy spells for the purposes of this class, though it is recomended.)

Theyr-faa - September 20, 2004 02:06 AM (GMT)
Theyr-faa watched, eyes attentive, as Ace conjured a shield. It seemed like magic in Imythess was different from magic in Cincotea.

"That looks beautiful." She told him as she saw the shield appear before him, sparkling into life. Theyr-faa went over the words in her mind, and then spoke them aloud, and a shield seemed to flicker around her, but then went out. Theyr-faa gasped in surprise. Never before had an Inlata not been able to do a spell on the first try?

"I'll try again!" She said hastily, her voice breathless with surprise. She again said the words, and this time the shield came up and stayed there. She sighed in relief. Not being able to do that spell had shocked her quite decently.

Master Ace - September 20, 2004 02:56 AM (GMT)
"Very good. Now to our next spell, Magic missile," Ace said after seeing her sucessfully cast the spell. An apple on a desk far at the back of the classroom, floated up into the air. "This spell is foiled by sheild, but is a very useful spell nonetheless." Ace went through the spell as he had with shield. He pointed his finger at the apple. A translucent jet of magic rushed from Ace's pointed finger and collided into the apple. The apple exploded, but the debris did not come out to Theyr-faa and Ace. "Don't worry about making a mess," Ace smiled as another apple floated up in the place of the other.

Theyr-faa - September 20, 2004 11:45 PM (GMT)
Theyr-faa smiled at Ace and tried the spell herself. The jet of bright white magic collided with the apple, went right through it and hit the painting behind the desk, and the painting exploded into millions of pieces, spreading across the room. Theyr-faa gasped.

"I am so sorry Ace, I didn't mean to..." She said, her eyes pleading and scared. It had gone straight through the apple, but now that she looked at the apple, it had not mark on it, in fact it looked even more red than when it had started out.

What did I do? Why can't I weild this strange magic? Why?

Theyr-faa looked despairingly at the millions of pieces of picture. It was one of the evil looking pictures that she had seen earlier.

Master Ace - September 21, 2004 12:01 AM (GMT)
Ace was slightly surprised to see the missle go straight through the apple without harming it yet basting away at the dark painting, but several reasons for the event poped into his mind. "When in the stages of mastering a spell strange things can occur when attempting to use it. A little practice is all that you need. Your going to try to cast magic missile and I will use the shield," Master Ace said as he moved to the back of the classroom puting an effective distance between them. "Arlight. Let's go for it," Ace said as he turned to face her.

Theyr-faa - September 21, 2004 12:10 AM (GMT)
Theyr-faa stared, gaping at him.

"Is there any possible way that Magic Missile can get through your shield?" She asked him cautiously, scared that it would go through the sheild like it did the apple.

Without waiting for an answer Theyr-faa started the spell. It went straight towards the shield, through it, through ace and straight into the wall, where it dissolved.

Theyr-faa stared in open mouthed shock at what had just happened.

Master Ace - September 21, 2004 12:29 AM (GMT)
"Hmm.... not going to the ethereal plane, The sheild would have stopped it," Ace thought to himself. He raised his hand and a nearby oainting flew to his hand. The portiat was of an black-haired elf who looked like the stereo-typical sudctive witch. "Alright, Let's try again," Ace said as he held the portait infront of him, but behind his transparent shield. If the portrait were to explode as the other had the shield would protect her from the srpay for splinters and Ace's telekinic powers would save himself.

Theyr-faa - September 21, 2004 12:49 AM (GMT)
Theyr-faa nodded and said the spell again. The magic missile sped towards the painting, and hit with a loud thump. Instead of the picture exploding, it cracked in three different places, and the crumbled to dust.

Theyr-faa shook her head.

"I do not understand, does this happen often to your students?" She asked him, a worried expression creasing her face. If it had, that would make Theyr-faa feel better, though she desperately wanted to know why this was happening to her magic.

Master Ace - September 21, 2004 01:04 AM (GMT)
Ace was curious to see such strange inconsitant effects. he was not entirely baffled, a few reasoons poped into his mind. "Not all of my students get it right on the first try! Why don't we try it the other way you cast shield and I'll cast magic missile," Ace said. Ace wanted for her to cast shield. If Ace was right in his thoughts then his missile would go through her sheild. If this were the case Ace would immediately stop the missile with his telepathic powers after it passed through her sheild.

Theyr-faa - September 21, 2004 01:46 AM (GMT)
Theyr-faa blinked and nodded in agreement. She immediately set up a strong shield around her. It was a bright white, almost blinding.

"I am ready." She said quietly to Ace. She awaited the arrival of the magic missile into her shield.

It was strange how her spell had gone through many things just to get at the picture behind it.

Master Ace - September 21, 2004 06:18 PM (GMT)
Ace noted that the shield was strong. It seemed that she had a certain master over the spell. This went against Ace's thought as to what was the prominatn cause of her spell failing, but it support some of his other ideas. Ace fired the magic missile, not knowing what to expect from her this time.

Theyr-faa - September 21, 2004 10:07 PM (GMT)
Theyr-faa saw the magic missile coming towards her and she anicked slightly, the shield flaring white hot, making the magic missile slow to the point of stopping, just to speed up with more energy than before. As it penetrated her shield Theyr-faa whirled to the side as it whizzed past her, only to get stuck on the opposite side of the shield, which was a flmaing red mass.

Theyr-faa quickly brushed away an angry tear from her face. All of the spells she tried were messed up somehow. This was not supposed to happen to a...suddenly the thought of what her leader had said to her popped into her mind.

"Don't use your magic at any costs."

what if there was a reason for that? What if their magic did not work right outside of Cincotea? (Which seemed to be the case.)

Theyr-faa frowned deeply. No...what could happen by doing a few spells wrong?

Master Ace - September 23, 2004 12:29 AM (GMT)
"That didn't go as planned. Too dangerous to try again. We'll try something less physcial," Master Ace thought to himself as he saw her spell once agian fail to do it's job.

"Alright, we are going to try something else. We will try a simpler spell, Light. It's uses are obvious by it's name," Master Ace smiled. He casted the spell in the same fashion as the others. As Ace went throught the movements of the spell his hair, scales, and eyes change form green to a white. After completing the spell Ace's hands lit with a dim light. "Now you try," Ace said to Theyr-faa.

Theyr-faa - September 23, 2004 01:13 AM (GMT)
Theyr-faa again watched as he did the spell. Now this was one spell she would succeed at.

"I will do my best." Theyr-faa said, smiling widely.

As she did the spell her whole body started to glow, becoming brighter and brighter by the moment. When the spell was finished she was blazing patch of light, too bright for normal eyes to even fathom. Glorious Light!

Theyr-faa let the spell fade away, and she returned back to her normal state, smiling.

Master Ace - September 23, 2004 01:21 AM (GMT)
Ace wished she had not over done the spell so much. It impaired his teaching in ways he wished she would never know. In any case he was pleased to see that she could properly cast the spell. "Excellent. Out next spell will be Faerie Fire, it makes an object glow with a faint light. most people are able to control the color of the light," Ace said before casting the spell. The picture in his hands started to glow with a faint white light When he had finished the spell. "Now you try," Ace smiled.

Theyr-faa - September 23, 2004 01:25 AM (GMT)
Theyr-faa smiled. Faeire Fire was another to do with light.

Which color shall I make it? Theyr-faa thought, but immediately decided blue.

She weaved her hands slowly through the air, saying the words of the spell, concentrating on the desk at the front of the room. Immediately after she cast the spell the desk seemed to illuminate with a beautiful blue color. It was quickly brightening, but Theyr-faa did not want to overdo it.

"How was that?" She asked Ace happily, letting the spell fade away.

Master Ace - September 23, 2004 01:34 AM (GMT)
"Very good. I think we may have found domething you are good with. Our next spell will be minor illusion. It creates illusions that can be seen, heard smelt, but never touched or felt. Even when made by the most powerfull of mages it has minor mistakes when cast," Ace smiled. He went through the motions of the spell and a blue vase appeared before them. The vase was filled with pink flowers. Lost in the mass of pink was one blue flower. Ace allowed to have some time to inspect the floating image beore he ran his hand through it. As he ran his hand through it, the illusion was immediately disspelled. "Now you try."

Theyr-faa - September 23, 2004 02:46 AM (GMT)
Theyr-faa frowned as he talked about illusions. There had never been need for the illusion spell in Cincotea. She did not know exactly how this would work out.

She began to mutter the words and move her hands through the air exactly like Ace. A small puppy was sitting on the ground, but it was strangely disfigured. It's ears were in the wrong places and it flickered strangely. It's tounge was lolling out of it's mouth, but it was on it's chest. It's muzzle was sitting on his face slightly askew. It was altogether very ugly.

Look what I have created! A horrible monster. Theyr-faa thought despairingly. The creature disappeared in a spark of light.

Master Ace - September 23, 2004 02:51 AM (GMT)
"Not too slightly but it appears you have the hang of the spell. More mistakes are present when the spell is untrained. Now I will teach you a spell to see through illusions, detect illusions. While it is in effect you can see through, minor and major illusions, " Master Ace said as he went through the motion of the spell. "Now cast the spell and I will test how well it works," Ace smiled.

Theyr-faa - September 24, 2004 01:52 AM (GMT)
Theyr-faa nodded dismally. Why did this always happen to her magic here in Imythess?

She quickly muttered the words and moved her hands through the air swiftly, copying Master Ace's every move.

"All set." Theyr-faa said, her spell at the ready. She awaited Ace's illusion.

Master Ace - September 24, 2004 02:10 AM (GMT)
"Alright, Let's test it out," Master Ace said as he began to cast a spell. He casted blink and immediately vanished from view. He casted a quickened mirror image as he casted blink. When Ace came bace into veiw there were four of him. they were on all four sides of Theyr-faa. Ace's voice was spread and disimbodied by the mjaor illussion he casted after coming into veiw, but If theyr-faa casted the spell correctly she would be able to tell where his real voice came from and would be able to tell by sight which Ace was real. "Now, Tell me where I am," He said. He was still directly infront of her.

Theyr-faa - September 24, 2004 02:21 AM (GMT)
Theyr-faa blinked slowly, treying to focus her eyesight. She could see no one around her...

"I see you Ace, you are in front of me!" Theyr-faa said laughingly as she turned frontward. She smiled at him brightly.

"Did it work? I didn't see your illusions at all..." Theyr-faa said, her smile slightly fading.

Master Ace - September 24, 2004 02:34 AM (GMT)
Master Ace smiled. "Why don't you dispell our magic and then take a look around. When you concentrate enough on the spell you will see no illussions at all. Normally you will seeand hear the illussions but they would be faint and you would know they were no more than illussions. What you did was good. Despite the first two spells we tried out you seem very talented with magic," Master Ace said.

Theyr-faa - September 24, 2004 09:43 PM (GMT)
Theyr-faa frowned throughout his statement. She was not good at magic! She was horrible!

This magic...this form...I hate them both! Theyr-faa thought heatedly. In her normal form she could do Cincotea's magic! It was something strange about the form that she now was in.

"Thank you." She told Ace darkly, her eyes closed, trying to do the spell in her head, as she had been able to do in Cincotea. She could not even get a hint of magic trying it that way.

((I'm running out of money to buy spells, do you think we could just roleplay for a while without practicing spells? In this topic of course. :)))
