Title: Engagement Celebration
Description: For Veronna Darkblade and Ocardonydd

Sargoth - September 9, 2004 10:15 PM (GMT)
The forest seemed a little livelier today than it had yesterday, almost like something amazing had happened overnight that left a setting more beautiful, more peaceful, more joyous and happy. That is exactly what had happened. Work had begun near midday of the previous cycle and had been finished only just as the sun finished its journey through the sky and began to peek over the horizon for a new sunrise. The bubbling and crashing of water from the beautiful Memphian Falls had drown out most of the commotion of the hard toiling, but now sent out is echoing call over a still wilderness. Soon it would once again fight for dominance over cheerful greetings and all around jovial behavior. There was a celebration to hold, and there was nothing the falls could do to stop it.

Even the local animal population seemed in good spirits as squirrels chittered to each other from nearby branches and several deer grazed in the plentiful patches of open grass between the trees. Colorful fish that usually perferred to hide beneath river-rocks during the day peeked their heads from their holes and looked to the surface, curious about the new creations visible in the air. Thousands of streamers hung down from the top of the waterfall and eventually were attached to the distant shores of the river downstream. The streamers, among with many other beautiful items, had been gifted by the Goddess of Magic, simply to speed up the process of setting the area up for the celebration. They all showed colors that were more plentiful than the rainbow, moving from shade to shade to make the entire valley utterly extravagant and downright pretty.

The shore of the river, the forest floor, and the river itself had been enchanted to release tiny glints of light in the sun, making the entire ground shimmer like it was mixed with silver and gold glitter. Tables of fine wood had been set up sporadically along the lengthy shoreline of the river, but most were combined in a long pair of parallel seats, all leading up to a large head table where the guests of honor would sit. The breeze was light just across the streamers, allowing them to flutter and enhance their beauty, but was non-existant at the ground level. Sargoth made sure of that. High up in the distance, his white figure almost hidden by a fluffy white cloud behind him, he stared down at the accomplishment. It all looked beautiful. It was a high quality job.

He was not tired since Angredon was kind enough to shapechange into an air elemental to hold him aloft without flapping his wings. From his high seat he controlled hundreds of tiny, golden spheres that hovered above the crowd. They glinted and shined in the rising sun, shedding the dark yellow rays down into the sand below. Thunder seemed to crash out of the fluffy white cloud, a rolling noise that vaguely sounded like clapping.

Across the head table, standing between two large poles, a gigantic banner had been raised with ornate text. Upon it stood the words:

Congratulations Veronna and Ocardonydd!

Veronna Darkblade - September 9, 2004 10:35 PM (GMT)
Veronna was worried she was going to be late for her own party but when she got there she was relieved to find she wasn't, and when she saw the decorations she had to smiled. She looked around and saw the cheerfulness of everything, and she couldn't believe it. She walked around to the seat she would sit in and hoped Ocar would hurry. She wasn't sure how many people were going to come but she knew it was going to be a great party. She had asked Aeri to come and play her insturments, and hoped she would show up soon too.

She wiped a joyful tear off her cheek and looked around again and still couldn't believe it. She walked around still looking at the decorations, thanking Sargoth over and over again in her mind. Then she started wondering where Sargoth was and she looked around again and then she looked up, she couldn't be sure she saw anything, but she knew he was watching somewhere. She walked back over to where she would sit and waited for Ocar.

(Sorry for such a short post... It looks so small compared to yours...)

Ranewen - September 9, 2004 11:03 PM (GMT)
((Is everybody allowed to post here? IUf not, feel free to delete this!))

Hearing that a Goddess was to be wed in the near future, Ranewen found it upon herself that she would have to attend the ceremony, although she never knew Veronna. Perhaps this would be her chance. She made her way towards the table where the guests would sit and she picked a spot that had a shadow cast upon it and she sat down briskly and looked around. Well, it seems not many people have shown up… she thought. Well, I just must be one of the firsts guests… She wondered if it was a private party, or if anyone would be able to attend. She had hoped it was a public engagement party. Maybe she could finally figure out what love really was.

She looked over at Veronna and smiled, saying a soft, “Hello…” which was bearly audible. She smiled to show that she was happy for her and that she found true love. “I am happy to see that a Goddess like yourself has found someone to wed and such. I hope it is okay that I came here, although you do not know me. I am Ranewen.” She smiled and nodded her head. She had left her familiars and companions – including Ryu – back in the forest so that they could not ruin the party like she knew they would. By accident of course, but surely she would be thrown out.

You might have heard of me from the Elfsong Tavern. Me and Renate – or so the bartender says – are one of the best performers they have there at the moments, seeing as we’re there almost every night. You might have seen us there. If not, that’s okay. You know me now. I’d be willing to perform for you guys if you’d like me to, or even start up a little dance. I’m very capable of doing so, but I understand if you wish otherwise.” After that, she let herself fall silent as she waited for answer patiently.

Jhael - September 9, 2004 11:54 PM (GMT)
Interesting... Jhael thought to himself as he appeared from within a nearby shadow cast by a close tree. Things were festive and as he watched Veronna from afar, he noticed her actions and body language were very different than normal. Never had he seen his hardened sister shed a tear of joy or otherwise, for any male. He had heard of this 'Ocar' and that they had been engaged, but had yet to speak with Veronna about it. Then word came of this party and Jhael just had to come.

Using his blink spell, he teleported again, a quick flash of another plane as he was thrown through space, then he landed gracefully onto one of the chairs next to her, leaning towards her against the arm of it.

"Interesting, dear sister, to say the least," he said with a chuckle and good-hearted mischief dancing in his golden eyes. "Never would I have thought you would fall for a male, and a human one at that."

Jhael laughed.

Kli_Of_Lorian - September 9, 2004 11:59 PM (GMT)
Crystal blue eyes with a light grey tint wandered about before Kli took a soft step forward. She stepped into the light, red and black hair glistening in the sun. For once her hair was neat and combed. Her hair looked just slightly longer, slightly wavy. Her pale skin wasn't as pale as it usually is, soft pink petal cheek were hid by her hair. She looked around at the others quietly. She figured she would stop by to see how the celebration was comming. Her dress was new, white with a gold trim and a royal purple as well. She wore sandals, nothing special really just simple sandals. It was weird seeing the normally wild and bewildered Kli wearing something fancy and actually clean. Her potion bag was on her right shoulder, sticking out like a sore thumb, but she didn't care.

"Hello Veronna.. Ranewen.. And of course Sargoth.." She said quietly. She didn't really know her that well, in fact, she didn't really know her at all, but she felt it was her duty to celebrate happiness, joy and love. Not really that it was a duty or a chore for that she had to do it in any way, shape, or form, but she felt it inside her. She was a bit shy today, extremely uncomfortable in this new environment that got her tongue tied. She simply walked to the water, looking at the reflection of the sun. She smiled very slightly, distracted once again. She was always distracted, it seemed to be some kind of illness. She softly talked to herself as if she was talking to someone right beside her, only more of a whisper than anything else.

Lemon - September 10, 2004 12:07 AM (GMT)
Ranewen had left Lemon in the forest. Lemon waited patiently for her, but after ten minutes it had been too long for him. At this moment he was in his human form, it was a bit of a releaf from being a dog so much. He walked through the forest, searching for her. Luckely, he still had some of his dog senses and was able to track her cent.

As he got closer to the Memphian falls he changed back to his dog form. He walked casualy by, looking around for Ranewen. Finally he had found her. A large smile crept up his face. Sense he had found her he didn't think it quite nessesary at the moment to go run up to her, espcialy sense there was so much going on that he wanted to find out about, also he didn't want to interupt her conversation.

Lemon looked up and noticed a banner, he read it and said to himself. " Verrona, that sounds familiar." He thought hard about the name, he knew who it was, just couldn't think of her at the moment. " Oh well, I guess i'll find out when i see her." He said to himself.

Lemon then looked around for Ranewen again. He spottred her and headed over towards her.

Aeri - September 10, 2004 12:09 AM (GMT)
Aeri felt ashamed for coming somewhat late. She rode to the table of honor and seeing several people already speaking to Veronna, she felt a little bad for interrupting so she only did a quick nod and spoke quickly. "Forgive me, lady Veronna. I meant to arrive sooner."

Without waiting for a response, she trotted behind the table of honor to dismount and unsaddle Telyn who carried Cyrrus and Nymbus. Once that was done, she allowed the twins to crawl up onto her shoulders. They weighed more than they looked, but it was only a temporary perch for them. Aeri had figured out how to put them to use in her performances. Telyn and Rayis both went to graze not too far off. Aeri carried her hip bag which held her flute and harp.

She went to the edge of the table of honor and let the twins down again where they peered with amazed, silver eyes. She removed her harp from her bag and began to pluck a quick, light beat to begin things and sang lightly with it. A good song to start the celebration with and let people introduce themselves to one another and get a feel of the night's mood, although, someone had done a wonderful job doing that already.

The twins swayed gently with the song, anticipating what would come later.

Master Ace - September 10, 2004 01:32 AM (GMT)
Ace had received an invitaion to the celebration. The enevlope had a seal simmilar to the seals Ace had seen in plenty in Veronna's temple. A lot of people Ace knew were already present here and more seemed to coming from everywhere. Draco and Bruno walked behind Ace in human form. Seeming no older than eight. A wide Grin appeared on Draco's face as his sapphire eyes scanned the congrigation of people. With so many people here he couldn't help but plunge into minds. "I'll start with the celebration's entertainment," Draco thought as his gaze feel upon Aeri. Bruno scanned the crod for the refreshment table, while as Ace shuffled about and tried to find Veronna and congradutate her perssonally.

Veronna Darkblade - September 10, 2004 01:44 AM (GMT)
Veronna watched as more and more people came and she smiled at Jhael when he appeared next to her and she saw him lean over and speak to her, "Usstan neitar zhaunau Usstan orn'la inbau vellupala ulu natha rivvil ethier..." she said looking him in the eyes, "Drill nindel's lu'oh ol turned doeb ji dos alur tlu yugho ulu ukta." She said with a grin and she looked at Ranewen, "I am pleased to meet you Ranewen," she looked the girl up and down, "I have been to the Elfsong tavern alot, but not recently... I guess I should visit that place more often." She said, "As for performing, I already have someone coming but maybe you could play with her, I'm sure she wouldn't mind." And as she said that Aeri rode up and spoke to fast for Veronna to reply. She watched as Aeri got her harp out and started a quiet song.

Veronna heard someone say hello very quietly and she looked and saw someone with red and black hair. She watched as the young woman went to the water and starting mumbling to herself, though Veronna couldn't hear what she was saying she saw her lips moving. Veronna walked over to the young woman and placed her hand on her back, "Please, come sit down with us all" she wanted everyone to be together and not by themselves, "You can sit near me if you'll like." She offered. Veronna didn't really notice the dog, but she sensed something wasn't right, it was something or someone that was there, someone she had felt before, and then it click; the jester from the Talas Arena, the one that had hurt Ocar. She looked up and around, and then she saw the dog and thought it couldn't be him, but she couldn't be sure, many people had spells to transform themselves into animals.

Veronna wore a long dark red dress, it's skirts brushed the ground when she stood or walked. Her hair was pulled back in a rope braid, and the braid was twisted up into a bun.

Kli_Of_Lorian - September 10, 2004 01:59 AM (GMT)
"Huh?" Kli's eyes darted towards Veronna, snapping from her trance of distraction, paranoia, and conversation with herself. "Oh. Yes. Thank you. I just got a little. Um. Distracted." She said, secretly scolding herself. "And thank you for the invitation, but I think I'll just find a nice quiet seat." She said, smiled very slightly and stepped softly towards a nice seat in a secluded area. There were people nearby, but not too close. She felt weird being at an engagement celebration that she didn't even know the soon to be bride and groom. She sat down, ankles softly crossed as she tried to pay attention to the people around her. The water often distracted her though.

"Such utter beauty, even in chaos the water never seizes to amaze and delight everyone that possesses a soul. Yet, after a while people forget what exactly they loved, they forget the beauty that the most simple yet beautiful thing in the world has.. They will forever be lost since they do not remember. They do not remember how simple things can be beautiful.” She mumbled to herself, in a trance again. She occasionally snapped out of it, but then again always seemed to manage to be distracted by something else.

Seele - September 10, 2004 02:43 AM (GMT)
Seele walked under the banner, golden eyes taking every little detail. He had been sent here by the library; a god or goddess getting married was no the most common event, and they wanted a book on it. As Seele was the only field scholar they had... he got sent here. He watched everyone silently, black cloak whirling around him, hat tipped to shade hsi eyes from the sun. He truly did feel happy for the couple, but expressing his emotions wasn't something he did. Especially when he only knew two people here; Ranewan and Master Ace. He watched the goddess through golden eyes, remembering everything he saw today.

Ocardonydd - September 10, 2004 03:11 AM (GMT)
Ocar knew he was late, he was always late for stuff, but he shouldn't have been late for this party. He walked in from the trees and he tried not to act like he was late but when he saw all the people already there he felt a little embaressed, but when he saw Veronna he grinned and walked up to her and kissed her lips quickly. "Hello," he said, "How are things going?" he asked her. He saw at least seven or more people, not including Veronna and himself.

He never really got to know everyone in Talas, so he didn't know who most the people were, though he saw two that he ragonized; they were from the arena a couple days ago, but the rest he didn't know very well.

Ocar wasn't waering anything fancy, he just wore a regular blue tunic with black trimming and he wore a dark brown belt, with no sword in the scabard.

He was suprised at how well it was all turning out, everything looked perfect for this kind of day, and he was happy Veronna wasn't on one of her 'kill-everything' moods, though she was rarely in those moods now days, which he was thankful for that.

Ranewen - September 10, 2004 10:53 AM (GMT)
She nodded her head and smiled and looked to Aeri. She had met this woman in the Memphian Falls before. She had been tkaing her two twin dragon hatchlings for a little swim in the ponds. Then, she looked down and saw Lemon and rose a questioning eyebrow. "Lemon... I told you to stay in the forest..." she whispered into the dog's ears before turning her attentions back to Veronna. "I will jsut watch if I must. Aeri's a good performer, or so I have heard." She grinned and then looked around. She knew many people there. Kli; Seele; Master Ace; Lemon; Aeri; and Jhael as well.

Then, she realized that Ocardonydd had arrived and she smiled at him and nodded a greeting. Another soft "Hello..." escaped her lips as she nodded in greetings, before adding almost inaudibly, "Congratulations... to both of you." She sat back in her chair and looked around, wrapping her arms around her torso, feeling lonely like usual. She pat the dog on his head and tried to tell him with the look in her eyes to leave. "I don't want any troubles started. I wish no t to be kicked out. Please, go back to the forest?" she asked and nodded in the direction. "Renor's there. Or Ryu. Whichever form he is in." She smiled and then returned her gaze back towards Ocardonydd and Veronna.

Kore Takamura - September 10, 2004 04:38 PM (GMT)
*Kore was riding on Kamahl to the celebration. He had spent half the day getting Kamahl used to this new body, a quarter getting ready, and the other quarter looking for their gift. He had found their gift, and Kamahl was getting used to the frame that he sort of forcefully took. Kore's hair was combed nicely and tied back. His cloak was cleaned and pressed, plus all the damages to it were replaced. He had cleaned up so well that he almost looked like a noble, except for the fact that his lack of two arms makes him bobble a little while riding.

He made it to a hill before he came upon the falls. He slowed Kamahl down to a trod, wondering who would be there at the party. He obviously knew that Ocardonydd and Veronna would be there, but he wondered if there were any nuisances to put up with.

As he reached the top of the hill, he stopped and looked around. He noticed that there were a good number of people there already, which relaxed him some. With his left arm he moved his hood back, the sun gleaming off of his face. He sat there upon Kamahl motionless for a few moments, then unmounted and undid his cloak and rested it upon his saddle.

With a smile he walked towards where Veronna and Ocardonydd was. When he reached them, he bowed, then cracked a smile.* Congradulations the both of you. What you too have is such a prized thing, better than any weapon, stronger than any shield. I only wish that I would be so lucky. Alas today is not my day though, it is your day, so I figured I'd get the both of you a little something*He reached into his satchel and grabbed hold of the rings he had purchased and then waited for a moment, then held out his hand bearing two rings, one for a male and the other for a female.* I was thinking of something to get you two, and I figured "why not front the money for your wedding bands." So I talked around and found the best ringmaker in Imythess to forge these. I hope you like it.*He held it out, waiting for the both of them to grab it*

((ooc: I'm waiting for the purchase to go through. Don't worry, I'm buyin them ;) ))

Aeri - September 10, 2004 04:47 PM (GMT)
Things were going well in Aeri's eyes, although she noticed a couple people seemed to isolate themselves from everyone else. She understood such feelings of being on the outside looking in. It was how she had felt among her family, only her mother being the only one to show the traits of an air genasi, but the elemental blood had effected Aeri more, giving her very obvious traits to her bloodlines.

The cheerful playing continued and she moved smoothly, without pause into another song, her calloused fingers not hesitating as she changed the beat to yet another light song. This one she sang slightly louder than before. It was a common song, written by elves about their legendary homeland known as Evereska.

"Come home, come home
to Evereska,
Where the elves shall sing
under yon stars.
The road has been long
and dusty
but all roads lead to home.
You have travelled far,
you have travelled wide,
but all roads lead to home.
Evereska, the shining star
of the north,
may your beauty always stay true!
No matter who you are,
no matter where your from
Evereska is a home
for everyone."

Jhael - September 10, 2004 04:59 PM (GMT)
Jhael grinned again at her statements. He showed little interest in the other people around him and while it may have seemed rude, he was merely more interested in watching his sister's reaction to everything and did not mean to be.

"Ele zhal'la Usstan tlu?" he said lightly. He didn't really care that she was marrying a human, but if this man she had chosen hadn't been killed yet by Veronna herself, he was probably used to the way drow thought.

When Ocar himself showed up, Jhael did not move, just observed him from the chair he lounged in with his amber eyes, wondering when Ocar would notice him there. After a long moment after Jhael was done sizing Ocar up with sharp eyes he spoke, looking at the human man, but truly speaking to Veronna.

"'udtila uk telanth ilythiiri?"

Seele - September 10, 2004 08:16 PM (GMT)
Seele smiled slightly at the song the lady was playing. Being an elf, he knew it by heart. The fact that he was a scholar and believed in facts didn;t mean that all magic and wonder had to go out of things. He believed in this homeland of the elves, common to almost all worlds. But, seeing both of the couple here, he decided to say his part.

Seele walked up to the couple and smiled warmly, bowing his head in respect. "Veronna... Ocardonydd... congratulations to you both. I wish the best of happiness, to both of you." His golden eyes withdrawn, he drew away before they could speak, knowing he hadn't introduced himself. If they wanted to know, they could ask. If they didn't... well, then they didn't. He still stood slightly away from everyone else, now watching the performer out of the corner of his eye, waiting for her next song.

Nightgazer - September 10, 2004 09:37 PM (GMT)
Meera rushed into the celebration blushing greatly for she knew that she was late. She did not know the goddess very well but felt that it was her duty to pay her dues in this time of happiness for her. Her eyes wandered around searching for any sign of the goddess she did not see her for a while until she caught sight of the drow features that she had been told that the goddess had. She said "ah" and started walking over to say congradulations.

Veronna Darkblade - September 12, 2004 12:34 AM (GMT)
Veronna smiled at Ocar when he arrived, "Things are going great." She told him, "I was afraid you weren't going to make it." She looked around and saw someone walking towards them, and he stopped and bowed, "Thank you, " she said, and when the man drew the the rings she had to gasp slightly, and couldn't believe someone would do that for them. "Thank you so much, but you didn't have to." She took the ring and looked at it; it was beutiful.

She saw another person walk up and bow his head but he backed away before Veronna could speak, and wondered who it was, but then she regonized him from the arena, and wondered why he did not wish to speak with them very much. She shrugged it away when Jhael spoke again. Veronna just looked at him, her eyes looking in his, a lopsided grin on her face, and she was going to let Ocar reply to that.

(Sorry I haven't replied for awhile, and sorry for it not being to long of a post...)

Master Ace - September 12, 2004 01:46 AM (GMT)
Master Ace wass having trouble getting to Verronna through the croowd. He decided he would let Draco and bruno mingle with the crowd on their own. Ace flapped his emerald wings and took to the air. He soon foound Veronna surounded by a flock of people. With her he saw the man that he had healed earlier. If this was Ocar, then her reactions in the battle royale were now aptly explained. He slowly lowered himself as he neared Veronna. Once he got there he hovered and waited for the others to ginish speaking with her. He saw her and Ocar each receive a ring from Kore. She seemed now to be waiting for a response from Ocar, but Ace wasn't sure. Ace decided that now would be good a time as any. "Excuse me, Veronn, for interrupting anything if indeed that is what I am doing. Congradulations to you and Ocar. I am working on the wedding gift and need a bit of information from you if both of you have a moment to spare," Ace smiled.

Sargoth - September 14, 2004 05:49 PM (GMT)
Sargoth had been busy with his tasks as the celebration's host, though he had enough free energy to keep watch of the party's birth below. Within only a short period, a large flock of people had arrived from various parts of the forest below, all there to congratulate Veronna and Ocar. He was very happy that the turnout was good, it would have been depressing to realize that either no one cared or no one heard about it. He had tried to get the word out to many of the cities and villages across Imythess, and his efforts had not been in vain. Everyone who showed up for the celebration would be in for a few surprises that he had planned. While he could not specifically see any faces below from his height, he noticed that Veronna and Ocar had taken their rightful places at the head of the large table. It was time to reveal one of the days first events.

His voice called into the cloud above his head, one that had been summoned there on purpose just for this event. With great haste, the cloud responded and a gusts of wind began to pour down near the ground. The banners were tossed from side to side, but the people on the ground were unaffected. Each of the golden spheres floating in the air were caught up in the draft and were gathered around the head table in a large clump. A whisping sound could be heard as cool air and warm air mixed, causing all of the orbs to be surrounded in a thick mist. The obscure mass raised into the air, high above the crowd before seperating. The mist clung to the orbs as they were moved to strategic points in the sky. Ultimately, the words "Forever In Love" were formed in white clouds in the sky, facing directly down on the happy couple. Sargoth thought it would be a cute addition, but would have to wait until much later before speaking to Veronna about it.

Ocardonydd - September 21, 2004 01:38 AM (GMT)
Ocar was suprised by how many people had shown up, and when Kore gave the rings he was even more suprised. He took the ring and smiled at him, "Thanks," he held out his hand for Kore to shake it.

He heard someone speaking Drow and he looked around and saw another Drow sitting near Veronna and he could guess it was her brother. "D' heen Usstan telanth Ilythiiri," he could tell that Veronna's brother didn't seem to like him. "Why don't you introduce us Veronna?" he asked her, he was looking him straight in the eye.

He looked around when he noticed things around them were blowing in the wind but he felt no wind around him. He looked around and then he saw writing in the sky, and he smiled. He knew they would in love forever.

Veronna Darkblade - September 21, 2004 01:49 AM (GMT)
Veronna looked at Ocar then Jhael, and she could already tell they weren't going to get along, "Ocar, this is Jhael Darkblade, Jhael, this is Ocardonydd Nydalath." She hoped they would talk with eachother, get now one another.

She turned to see Ace, and she walked up to him and hugged him. Ace had helped her in so many ways, she backed away, "I have plenty of time to spare, just what kind of information?" She asked him. She looked up and saw writing in the sky, and she felt a little embaressed when she read it.

Master Ace - September 22, 2004 06:10 PM (GMT)
Ace was glad to get a hug from Veronna. She had help in near as many ways as he had helped her. Ace looked up as he saw Veronna do so. Ace smiled as he saw the lovely mesage in the sky. When he looked back at Verronna he could have sworn she was blushing, but it was impossiple to know for sure if a drow was blushing or not. "I need to know your favorite animal and I need a lock of your hair. Strange request, but please trust me," Ace smiled. "The remaing information is best gathered directly from Ocar, since it all pertains to him," Ace said as he turned slightly to see if Ocar was busy.

Veronna Darkblade - September 29, 2004 02:17 AM (GMT)
Veronna looked at him and wondered what he was up to. "My favorite animal... Thats a good question," she laughed a little, "I would have to say a Nightmare, I own two already though, if not that then probably just a horse." She smiled and pulled out a dagger that was attached to her waist and she pulled her hair out of its bun and braid, and cut off two locks of hair in the front, so they would be even like bangs. She handed them to Ace, "Here, you can take both," she looked over at Ocar, "And Ocar shouldn't be to busy right now..." she sheathed her dagger and looked around, still wondering what was Ace up to.
