Title: Royalty?
Laoura - September 8, 2004 02:19 AM (GMT)
Okay, as an alternate to demigods, how would people feel about royalty? They would be mortals and be given rule over certain areas of Imythess. Examples:
- Lord/Lady of Talas
- King/Queen of Cascadia
- Emporer/Emperess of Tethyr
- Lord/Lady of Kellen Village
Let me know what you think. Remember, both the demigods and the royalty ideas are not solid and may not ever come into play here at Imythess.
Skorne - September 8, 2004 02:26 AM (GMT)
I like the Royalty idea, cause you have mortals, that have a higher position than others. I would like to see more than just those four positions if you are going to do this though.
Sargoth - September 8, 2004 02:32 AM (GMT)
This seems like a much more appropriate addition than demigods to me, which reflects my vote. Something along these lines will probably work out a lot better.
Master Ace - September 8, 2004 02:40 AM (GMT)
I dislike the Idea even though I'm might as well be royalty in the academy of magic. In any case I liked the demi-god better even though I had my dislikes.
Lemon - September 8, 2004 03:00 AM (GMT)
I think this is a much better idea than the demigods one. And then we could have wars between the kingdoms. Yup yup, much better idea.
Sargoth - September 8, 2004 03:05 AM (GMT)
If you think about it, this idea actually makes a lot more sense. One thing that is directly lacking is the dimension of government. Obviously, someone has to be running these cities and villages, whether they are appointed or birthed into the position. It is also not unheard of to have official keepers of different forest and other wild areas, which opens more positions if necessary. I know of a few characters with a political background that could either hold these offices or could at least roleplay with the appointed lords/ladies.
Laoura - September 8, 2004 03:29 AM (GMT)
The reason I did not enter politics sooner (And still might not even now) is because the gods are so active in the world of Imythess, that royalty wouldn't even be really needed except for RPing experiences, which could be pretty awesome.
Wars are a definite possibility. Once I get the history up for all the places of Imythess (Not just the mythological version which is what is now available), it could be very likely. I am currently writing the history for my favorite realm of Imythess, Cascadia and it is a lot of fun to write. There will be a small history for just about all the common RP places here and I probably will try to have it all up before choosing royalty so everyone would know how each kingdom/realm reacts to another.
Master Ace - September 8, 2004 03:32 AM (GMT)
Concerning wars I don't think too many people were active in the war zone.
Laoura - September 8, 2004 03:41 AM (GMT)
Yes, but it'll be different if there is one. People will actually have more info on what they are fighting and it would be very political, not necessarily divine. There might not be wars, though and if there are, not for a long time because I have a lot of writing to do. :)
Lemon - September 8, 2004 03:41 AM (GMT)
Yeah but it would be alot funner when there are actual kingdoms. I didn't realy like the whole warzone idea.
Zin - September 8, 2004 04:09 AM (GMT)
Heck they both sound good, but yeah, I suppose the royalty lack is a little depressing...
Sargoth - September 8, 2004 04:23 AM (GMT)
Interkingdom conflicts would tend to have more participation since the disputes are broad enough that a larger variety of players will be exposed to the fighting. It would not be limited to those who happened to be paying attention to the war zone.

Lol, that's what i was trying to say. I wish I could express my opinions as good as you.
Sargoth - September 8, 2004 04:33 AM (GMT)
Lol, give it some time and a lot of practice convincing people that you are right ;).
Lothlómendil - September 8, 2004 11:10 AM (GMT)
I agree with Sargoth (I think our brains are in tune with one another or something). Basically, what he said.
Airie - September 8, 2004 04:10 PM (GMT)
I do like both ideas. Royalty would add a lot to our roleplay and like Sargoth had added before, it is a great addition to our political system here in Imythess. It gives the land a more real feel, someone is ruling over these areas, but who? Interation with them will be interesting ;)
Master Ace - September 8, 2004 05:02 PM (GMT)
wow, the polls are starting to say have both demigods and royalty. as for royalty anyone who is royalty should have that as a permanent job. unlike training masters this would take the place of the monthly jobs. (The lady of kellen is not going to have a second job as maid)
Ranewen - September 8, 2004 07:05 PM (GMT)
I voted both because I can't decide. Lol.
Ainariël - September 8, 2004 07:59 PM (GMT)
I voted both, but I do not think we should bring both in at the same time, maybe bring the Royalty first then the Demigods, see how the royalty goes and if it goes well then bring in the demigods. It would make sense for there being Royalty, but demigods is a good idea too.
Airie - September 8, 2004 08:20 PM (GMT)
Oh yes, I definitely agree with Ainariël, demigods if anything should be introduced to Imythess later in time, if it is introduced at all. It would be best to do them each in their own time, but Royalty before demigods.
Master Ace - September 8, 2004 08:29 PM (GMT)
Not exactly royalty, but I think we should add head magister and head weapon master to the mix. They would be like royalty for the academies. Then I would have an offical postion for go around ranting about. They would earn weekly pay slightly more than normal.
Sargoth - September 8, 2004 08:33 PM (GMT)
Assuming you were the one appointed to the position :).
Master Ace - September 8, 2004 08:36 PM (GMT)
Assuming... yes , but given the conditions I'm best qulified. I've been magister ever month. I'm Archmage training master and I already had a few talks with Lauroa about something of the sort. unfortunatey I don't think I'll be able to be head magister and a demigod.
Meru - September 8, 2004 09:16 PM (GMT)
Ok, is everyone ready for my brilliance?
I voted yes. Now let me explain:...
As Master Ace and/or Sargoth said in the demigod topic....Mods should be changed to Demi-gods in the rp. It puts their powers into the world of Imythess and gives them an rp title.
As for the royalty, that will be open to anyone. *HOPES AND PRAYS I'LL BE ONE!*
Seele - September 8, 2004 09:22 PM (GMT)
Lol. I think the whole mod to demigod thing would be cool. I've been on several sites where the mods were called that anyway... but roaylty is a good idea.
Meru - September 8, 2004 09:25 PM (GMT)
Ya ya...
OO, and not to mention. The royalty, fighting in the kingdoms, would be such a good idea. That would add SO much to the rp value, and people can choose a side, and all have interractions with each other.
Airie - September 9, 2004 06:37 PM (GMT)
Well then, I have a question. If all Moderators were moved to be demigods, what would happen to our Knights of Imythess and the Elite Knights? I think they play a part here in Imythess just as well as the deities do.
Master Ace - September 9, 2004 09:44 PM (GMT)
Elite Knights are no longer used from what I've gathered. It was meant to moderate the arp forums, which the knights of Imythess now handle. Title knight of Imythess would be moved to demigod. The knights of Imythess would not be lost, only changed.
Daisuki - September 9, 2004 09:46 PM (GMT)
Oh, cool. Anyways, I think demigods and royalty are cool ideas.
Besides... if they're a king or queen, they have to have more to steal from, right? :D
Aleria - September 9, 2004 11:32 PM (GMT)
I voted both since I couldn't decide between Demigods/Royalty. :)
Master Ace - September 9, 2004 11:36 PM (GMT)
voting multiple times is bad... *looks at Maddie*. In any case there appears to be no harm done. both is winning by a landslide.
Oichi - September 9, 2004 11:58 PM (GMT)
I didn't necisarilly vote twice....that would be unfair. I only voted with one character, but I am posting here with whatever character I'm current logged in as....
Anyways. Good job explaining it, I would of said: Hell if I know ^^
But ya, having both is a great idea, keep up the voting!!
Ranewen - September 10, 2004 12:00 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I know, but I checked the results on this account before voting again. :P

I know. We'd have 50 votes instead of 27 :P . In any case no harm done.
Da Qiao - September 10, 2004 12:30 AM (GMT)
But I didn't do anything.....*insert shifty eyes....*
Anyways...>lol.<
Aleria - September 10, 2004 12:31 AM (GMT)
Meru - September 10, 2004 12:33 AM (GMT)
Lol, of course it is.
Btw guys...It's funny how as soon as I make a very important post in demigods....ppl stop posting there...
Aleria - September 10, 2004 12:40 AM (GMT)
They're prolly afraid of your charries! lmao. Just kidding!
Terra - September 10, 2004 01:27 AM (GMT)
Uhhhh....I don't think so....
Never mind, it makes no sense.
Ranewen - September 10, 2004 01:33 AM (GMT)
Haha, you never know what goes on in in these "normal" peoples' minds!
