Title: General magic 101
Description: Come join the class.

Master Ace - September 7, 2004 12:59 AM (GMT)
Ace walked into the classroom with Draco and Bruno on either shoulder. Once inside they jumped off and immediately got to work. Ace shuffled through a couple papers on the desk while bruno and Draco straightened the desks. After fixing the desks, Bruno changed into his humaniod form and Draco turned into a humaniod, almost looking like Bruno's twin. Instead of red, Draco's wings, hair and clothes were blue and there was no tip to his tail. Both of them seemed no older than eight. Draco took a few moments to admire his new form before sitting down. Ace combed his green hair and laid back in his chair. He hoped he would have a big class. He was annoyed with the recent absence of students at the academy.

Valdearg - September 7, 2004 01:35 AM (GMT)
Valdearg walked into the acadamy of magic, taking his time to get to know the layout of the building. He had never been here before, so he liked to know where everything was before he tried the different classes. He walked past a door, and the sign on it caught his eye. A class for general magic, this ought to be interesting. He decided to try out this class first, and opened the door. He walked in and the first thing he noticed was that there was already three people there. Two of them looked related, and they all had wings. Valdearg closed the door behind him, and made his way up to the front of the class. He stopped to get a good look at the three people already there. He recognized one as Master Ace, but he didn't know who the other two where. He guessed that they would be skilled in magic if they were with Ace, but it seemed like he had seen them before.

Master Ace - September 7, 2004 01:55 AM (GMT)
Draco and Bruno watched Valearg as he moved across the room. Draco smiled as he recoginzed Valearg, he was the dragon they had met earlier. Ace was not only teaching people more than twenty times his age, but now he was teaching a dragon. "This could be interesting," thought to himself. Master ace smiled as he saw his first or rather third student enter the classroom. He recognized his face almost instantly. "Good morning, Valdearg. I see you have an intrest in the art of magic. Have a seat. Class will begin shortly," Ace said with a smile. He didn't know what exactly he would do for the class but knew enough to pull out something fitting for the students.

Valdearg - September 7, 2004 02:00 AM (GMT)
"Hello Ace, it is nice to see you again. I hope I will get some useful information from you." Valdearg moved to the closest desk, and sat down. He wondered why there didn't seem to be many students there, you would think that mages would take every chance they could to get to become better. He supposed that most mages were to prideful ot accept help form someone, then he looked up at Ace. He smiled at the next thought that came to him. He did't think many mages would like to accept help from someone many times their junior. "Well Ace, you'll probably need to razzle dazzle the students in order to get their attention, since some of them will probably be older than you."

Zin - September 7, 2004 04:10 AM (GMT)
Zin slipped towards the classroom, a rather haggard look on her face. She was scowling, for one reason or another, and her current garb was a very stark contrast to what she wore the last time she had entered the a classroom in any academy. In other words, since her first visit, much had changed.

Zin now wore a rather splendid set of armor-Selkie to be exact-under her cloak. A silver bow was tossed casually over a shoulder, and a sling hung from her belt, with a pouch of bullets on her opposite hip.

She paused on the threshold, then forced a grin on her face, though it looked more like a grimace. "Hello." The half-elf bobbed her head to the others in the room, then moved to sit in a chair near the door.

Master Ace - September 7, 2004 02:56 PM (GMT)
"Most of them are older than me," Ace thought to himself after hearing Valdearg's words. He had a few students that were of his age but most were much older than him."Good moring Zin, It's been a while since your last visit. I wouldn't expect an elf to changed so much," Ace smiled as she entered the room. She seemed disturbed he was curious as to what was occuping her mind. Braco and Draco's eyes watched Zin enter the room. Draco had never seen this person before he would scan her thoughts when the time came.

Zin - September 8, 2004 12:19 AM (GMT)
The look on The half-bloods' face gave way to a wry grin. "Morning. I suppose that being half-human doesn't helps change?" There was a change in her voice, just for a moment, that vanished before she continued, "How've classes been going? I haven't had much time lately to study, at least not new spells..."

She leaned back in her chair. "Gods, feels nice to know I'm going to be learning something for once!" She laughed gleefully.

Valdearg - September 8, 2004 02:05 AM (GMT)
Valdearg turned to get a good look at the new person that had entered into the room. It was an elf, and Ace had been kind enough to say the elf's name, so Valdearg wouldn't have to ask for it. He stood up and reached out a hand to Zin. "Hello, it is nice to meet you. My name is Valdearg." He wondered what Ace would have to show them when the time came. He also wondered what sort of mage this Zin was, he was always interested in watching other peoples method of casting spells.

Kyonis - September 8, 2004 04:46 AM (GMT)
Kyonis entered the classroom awkwardly. He just wished to spectate; he had little magic to add to the discussion, or to participate with. To be honest, he didn't know if he should even be in this classroom. He had just walked by, and the class title had caught his interest. "This could be a mistake," Kyonis muttered to himself, adjusting the gold rope rings which were embroidered onto Kyonis's simple garmants. "Too late now," he said aloud.

Zin - September 8, 2004 05:03 AM (GMT)
Zin returned the smile with one of her own. "Nice to meet you Valdearg." Her heads tilted slightly to one side. "Which type of magic are you hoping to learn?"

Her eyes flickered towards the figure who entered the door. "Hello there, who might you be?"

Master Ace - September 8, 2004 01:56 PM (GMT)
"Well I think we have enough people to start the class. Just to get everyone situated you guys will introduce yourselves and tell the class what kind of magic you like the best," Ace smile as he watched Kynois enter. He wonder what the class wanted to learn.

Draco stood up slowly with a wicked grin upon his face. "I am Draco. I think it is needless to say what type of magic I like most," Draco sent to their minds with his telepathic powers. He then sat down. Bruno stood up next. "I'm Bruno....," Bruno said. He kept his mouth open as if he were going to say something else but quickly sat down.

Zin - September 8, 2004 10:48 PM (GMT)
Zin stood, grinning, and gave a small bow, almost mockingly. "I am Zin," She paused, eyes narrowing, then flipped her cloak over a shoulder in agitation. "I'm here to learn all that I can."

She sat, and smirked coldly at Draco, her teeth seeming to be sharper than before. "I'm training to be a great archmage, and hope to be one of the greatest mages alive." She paused, then added lamely: "Eventually."

Valdearg - September 9, 2004 02:08 AM (GMT)
Valdearg listened as Zin introduced herself, wanting to get to know everyone there. He nodded his head when she had finished, and decided to introduce himself. He stood up from his seat and bowed to the other students. "My name is Valdearg, currently most of my spells are jsut support magic, but I am working on getting elemental spells." He sat down again, wondering what the other people would be interested in studying.

Shynthriir - September 9, 2004 03:35 AM (GMT)
A man walked into the room with the name of Shynthriir. His eyes dnaced around the room from one object to the next, studying his surrounding. He still did not trust the world as he should, and tried his hardest to stay away from danger, and most of all, other people.

The room was lit, but where there is light, there is shadow. A desk in the back, a corner, was untaken. Other people were in the room but Shynthriir hoped they didn't see him, hoped they were unaware of his enterence. He wend silently to the seat and looked on as other students talked amongst themselves.

A man, well he wasn't human but something far different, stood at the front of the class. Assuming him to be the teacher, Shynthriir sat back and waited from him to say or do something. Shynthriir was ready to take in anything on magic that he could.

Master Ace - September 9, 2004 10:40 PM (GMT)
Ace din't notice Shynthriir's entrance. His attention was set Kyonis. He was wondering difficult he should make the class. He knew Zin and Valdearg could keep up with his lessons, but he knew nothing of Kyonis and his potential or lack there of. Darco however had noticed his entrance through the corner of his ice blue eyes. He smiled, just as wicked as his last. "Welcome to the class...Late......I suggest you introduce yourself and move a few more desks toward the front," Draco planted in Shynithriir's mind. The voice was bodyless. Syhynithriir would think the voice came from Ace if he were to think it came from any in the class.

Shynthriir - September 9, 2004 10:51 PM (GMT)
Shynthriir was shocked at the voice. He, at first, thought it to be the teacher, but he wasn't seemingly paying attention to Shynthriir. It mad ehim wonder who, or what, said the command.

Shynthriir was about to ignore it though, maybe it was something he imagined, but then he thought better of it. He knew if someone wanted him to move and was able to tell him through mind speaking, he might want to do as he was told.

Shynthriir got out of his seat, he didn't want to leave his protective shadow but didn't want to find out who told him to move, knowing that he would find out if he didn't do as he was told. He found a new seat, still away from all the other people in the class, but it was in front.

Shynthriir took this time to introduce himself, expecting the other students to stare at him as if he appeared out of nowhere. Clearing his throat he stated, "My name is Shynthriir..." He awaited to hear what anyone would reply.

Master Ace - September 9, 2004 10:58 PM (GMT)
"I'm afriad I didn't see you come in, Shynriir. Welcome to my class in any case," Ace said as he turned his head to the new and unexpected voice. "Much Better....You aren't so bad after all....You appear to Like to stay away from people whenever possible....A problem which is useful but often can lead to missed opportunities...," Draco placed in Shyniir's mind. His haunting smirk faded as he shifted his attention around the room. His eyes continued to watch Ace, but his mind wandered elsewhere, scanning the thoughts of the other students.

Shynthriir - September 9, 2004 11:39 PM (GMT)
Shynthriir looked from side to side, still wondering who was talking to him. He distinctly heard the teacher tell him something, that he knew. The voice in his head though, the one that bothered him, who was it?

Shynthriir thought for a brief moment and then asked, "Might I ask who is talking to me through mind-speak?"

Kli_Of_Lorian - September 10, 2004 12:37 AM (GMT)
"Am I late?" A voice echoed into the room and Kli walked out of the shadows. She smiled lightly, blue grey eyes looking around the room. "I'm sorry if I am... I did not mean to disturb your class.." She said quietly as she sat in a desk and straightened up in the chair. Her red and black hair was actually nice and combed to her shoulders, looking slightly longer then it has. She wore a long, simple, black dress with lacy trim. Her pale face was as pale as the moonlight that had shown the last evening. She didn't need to be in the class, but she always wished to know more no matter what. She wanted to refresh her memory about magic in general even though she knew about as much as her father on the general type. She took out some parchment and ink, writing a few things down real quick.

She felt a bit more normal now that she had clean clothes, but she still was quite paranoid. I guess that's why she had been hanging around the academy lately. No one would try to come after her in an academy full of wizards and magic folk. She looked worriedly out the window every few minutes, she really couldn't help how weird she felt. She felt like talking to herself just to tell herself that she was just being silly and that nothing was going to happen. Her eyes where a bit more grey then normal, darker, and disturbed from it's peaceful rest from the innocent girl that she was. Ever since she found her father had gone ill, orcs and things had been going after her. She knew that the wizards wanted her dead, but going themselves would cause great suspision among the people of Lorian. She knew that she needed a safe haven to go and study up on her magic skills.

Master Ace - September 10, 2004 01:03 AM (GMT)
"Ah.. Welcome Kli. You haven't missed much. Why don't you take a moment to introduce yourself, Draco, Bruno, Valdearg, Zin, Shyniir have already done so," Ace smiled as he saw Kli enter the room. She seemed trouble, but in the same way at ease. Ace ignored Shyniir's question, knowing well that Draco would be glad to answer. "You see the blue-haired kid. Name's Draco and don't you forget," Draco added to Shyniir's mind. His wicked smile returned as quickly as it had faded.

Shynthriir - September 10, 2004 01:26 AM (GMT)
Shynthriir was releived knowing the source of which the voice he had heard was comming from. Shynthriir couldn't mind-speak in reply to Draco, but nodded his head to say 'thank you'.

Another person entered the room, a girl. She seemed worried, or parhaps confused; Shynthriir couldn't tell. He didn't want to stare at her, he didn't want to disturb her more by studying her, and looked away, turning his gaze to the teacher.

Kli_Of_Lorian - September 10, 2004 01:28 AM (GMT)
"Very well then Master Ace.." Kli said, standing up quietly. "I am Kli, don't ask me where I'm from because I don't feel the need to answer questions that don't need to be asked... I used to be a teacher for a short time at this academy until a few complications came to make me have to quit my comfy job and start out as I was originally: A wanderer.. I think that is all the information that is needed on my part.." She sat down. "That was entirely too long.." She said to herself, not meaning to, but it just kind of slipped out from her chapped rosy lips. She didn't speak anymore. She didn't know anyone in the class really, except for Master Ace of course who had accompanied her an a few adventures that she often wrote about in detail in a large book she had hidden in her secret place by the black river. She started to become distracted, mind wandering in an utter black world of nothingness and the calm quiet of the classroom. She had been unlike herself lately, paranoid yet randomly distracted.

Valdearg - September 10, 2004 01:35 AM (GMT)
Valdearg listened as Kli introduced herself, wondering what was wrong with her, she seemed kind of paranoid, as if she expected to be attacked. He shrugged it off and guessed that some people could get like that. If you were in constant danger, you probably became worried about being attacked wherever you went. "Hello Kli, it is nice to meet you." He turned to face ace, impatient for the class to get started already. "Well Ace, what do you have to teach us today?"

Master Ace - September 10, 2004 01:47 AM (GMT)
"Lengthy, but not too long, Kli. You classmates will be pleased to know a litle about you," Ace smiled to Kli. "Valdearg, Please be patient. We have not yet heard from this young man," Ace said peacefully as his hand pointed at Kyonis. Ace was excited. He had a big class. It was strange, when he went to the classes of the the other magisters they were small and sometimes composed of only himself. Prehaps Ace didn't need to enroll his Pseduodragons afterall.

Shynthriir - September 10, 2004 02:01 AM (GMT)
Shynthriir looked at the man that Ace had called Kyonis. The man looked familiar, but Shynthriir couldn't place a finger on it. He thought back at his past, sorted through the people he had met in the few days outside of the forest he raised himself in. It then came to him, Kyonis is the man Shynthriir met at the beach he went to a few days ago. Shynthriir grinned at the irony.

Kyonis - September 10, 2004 05:20 AM (GMT)
Kyonis stared at the elf who gazed at him from the darkness. He recognized him as none other than the elf Kyonis had met on the Coast not too long ago. It had been an awkward converstation; one that Kyonis had no interest to continue with this strange creature.

Realizing that the magister had asked Kyonis to speak, he slid his chair back and stood from behind his desk. He was more than a slight bit awkward. Kyonis, as he often repeated to himself, was not a conversationalist.

"I," Kyonis began, "have come to learn what there is to be learned. I know next to nothing, and so I have no doubts that your class, Magister Ace, will be rewarding to me. However, I do ask that you not simplify the class on my behalf. You will find I am an quick learner, and an avid student. While I may not grasp everything, I intend to follow to the best of my ability. Please, proceed".

The man sat, uncomfortable in the silence. Kyonis never was quite sure if the words he had spoken made any sense. After the years Kyonis had spent as a monk, under a vow of silence, speaking once again was difficult for him. Try to prevent the blood from rushing to his head, Kyonis redirected his gaze from his desk to Master Ace.

Master Ace - September 10, 2004 02:42 PM (GMT)
Ace stood up and looked around the class. "Good, now that we all know eachother I will begin. Once again I am Master Ace. Today we will be going over a few spells and then we will have a duel. I will pair you with a partner. There is an uneven amount of students so I will most likely end up with Kli. I will go over rules for the dule after I finish teaching a few spells. (You may buy the spell, but for the purposes of the class you do not need to buy the spell though it is recomended) Our first spell will be shield. It is a simple spell that helps you protect yourself from projectiles. It is an effective counter to our next spell. Watch closely as I cast the spell," Ace said before he satred muttering arcane words. A small appeared in front of Ace. The shield was green and seemingly transparent. "I will have every one try it after we try the next spell. Did everyone get what I said so far?"
Bruno eagerly nodded his head. "Yes," Draco and Bruno said in unison.

Kyonis - September 10, 2004 11:40 PM (GMT)
Kyonis slowly nodded his head. In truth, he had no idea how the man had made the shield. Kyonis had never been able to use words to summon magic; with him, it had always been silently, by instinct.

The entire field of magic was confusing to Kyonis. Kyonis had no knowledge in the area; he simply possessed the natural ability, and the appreciation of the art. However, magic was something Kyonis would have to learn. It was the field of study Kyonis had chosen, after all. With these thoughts in mind, Kyonis redirected his attention the Master Ace.

Shynthriir - September 11, 2004 12:07 AM (GMT)
Shynthriir watched in awe as Master Ace cast his spell. Shynthriir was fasinated by anything having to do with magic. He listened intently on the words spoken by this master mage and made note to remember everything he said. He nodded his head in understanding.

Zin - September 11, 2004 12:11 AM (GMT)
Zin rested her elbows on the table, then smirked, summoning the words to the spell from the void, grasping the needed thread of magic, and launched into a series of movements, her hand moving carelessly in the air. She let out a small chuckle as a pale lavender shield appeared before her.

"Is this good? Or am I failing?" She let out a laugh then stopped, muttering something under her breath to someone that no one could see. "Shut up...go away..."

Shynthriir - September 11, 2004 12:24 AM (GMT)
Shynthriir was impressed with the spell that the other student made. He only hoped that one day he himself would be able to do the same. What worried him was the second comment by the other student. She looked troubled and was talking to someone Shynthriir thought not to be there. It troubled him.

Zin - September 11, 2004 01:03 AM (GMT)
Zin's angry look vanished just as quickly as it had come and she noticed that Shynthriir was giving her a bit of an odd look. She grinned weakly, then looked around, trying to see how many of the other students had made an actual attempt at casting the spell.

Shynthriir - September 11, 2004 01:52 AM (GMT)
Shynthriir looked away from the student once he was caught looking oddly at the other student.

Shynthriir thought that he would try at casting the spell. He had no need for saying any words, he didn't like saying much of anything, including spells. His hand did go though all the gestures that it needed to go though, waving through the air as Master Ace had done himself. Slowly a black shield formed in the air. Then quickly disappeared. He needed practice, he knew that much.

"When cast my shield, it came out black, but your was green and her's," pointing at the other student, "Was purple. Does the color have anything to do with the stregth of the spell, or does it maybe reflect the person who cast it?"

Master Ace - September 11, 2004 04:06 AM (GMT)
Ace watched a few of his students cast the spell. He had meant for them merely to state that they were paying attention and maybe talk about the duel, this was an interesting turn of events. Both Zin and Shynthriir had successfully casted the spell. Zin however showed mastery over the spell. It was an easy for an archmage. Hope to help train to be an archmage, but she had not showed up at the tower of arcana. "Color can reflect the person who casts the spell, but there's a lot of mumbo jumbo involved in explaining all of it. I can disscuss after class if you wish. Now to our next spell which is simpler than the last. Magic missle." Ace slowly murmured a few words and went through the motions. His gaze fell upon a broom at the back of the class. Master ace pointed his finger at the broom and a translucent jet of froce jumped from aces hand and rushed around the students to it's target. The missile impacted the broom and snapped it in two. "Now I'm going to split you guys up. One preson will cast shield and the other will cast magic missile. Parntering is as such: Zin with Valdearg, Draco with Shyniir, Bruno with Kyonis, and Kli with me. We will be going out side and using the spells out there," Ace said before opening the door. Bruno and Draco Filed out the room, a wide grin still on Draco's face.

( To prevent some people from leaving the class behind. Only make a post after two other people. I don't follow this rule as teacher and for this purpose don't count.
Example:
Zin
Master ace
Synthriir
Valdearg
Zin

Not:
Zin
Master Ace
Valdearg
Zin )

Zin - September 11, 2004 07:17 AM (GMT)
Zin 's ears twitched slightly, and she also had looked at Ace, wondering what the answer was. She was a little dissapointed when there was no in-depth explanation, but wasn't crushed. She sighed, then went into the movements of a second spell, eyes narrowed. A puff of smoke appeared on her fingertips, and she scowled, leaned back in her chair.

It wasn't any good, the little blighter was still evading her...

She paused, then looked at Ace, eyebrow raised slightly. Her gaze flickered to the blue-obsessed student.

Shynthriir - September 11, 2004 04:45 PM (GMT)
Shynthriir saw in awe as the teacher demonstrated the new spell. It was a nice simple spell that had many used. Shynthriir was going through his head all the different ways he could use it.

He was teamed up with Draco, the creature that was mind-speaking to Shynthriir when he first entered the class. Shynthriir wasn't happy that he was teamed up with him, but would tolerate him for this excersise. He got out of his seat and walked up to Draco.

Kyonis - September 11, 2004 10:29 PM (GMT)
Kyonis looked around for the one Master Ace had called Bruno. Kyonis was horrible with names. He supposed he would just have to wait for Bruno to appraoch him. Even then, Kyonis didn't know what the two would do. Kyonis knew he would be the least successful at this spell in the class; he was still learning, after all.

Kli_Of_Lorian - September 12, 2004 12:47 AM (GMT)
Kli stood from her desk, closing her eyes as she stepped a small distance from her desk and attempted the spell. This was one of the few spells she had never really attempted before in her whole study of magic. She started to chant the spell, concentrating soully on the spell and nothing else. A glow started in front of her, slowly making the sheild in front of her. She opened her blue grey eyes, watching the sheild go up. The sheild was half white and half black, as if it would never be decided the sheild colors pushed against each other in a fight. She smiled but then suddenly frowned when the sheild deminished. She didn't give up though, she simply tried again. This time the sheild didn't deminish at all but thrived. She called off the spell and looked around. "I guess the practicing will begin.." She said, making sure the ink wouldn't spill by closing it before looking around again.

Valdearg - September 13, 2004 08:02 PM (GMT)
Valdearg looked at the person who was supposed to be his opponent. He had halfway guessed that the magic missile spell would come after shield, but he would go along with it even though he already knew the spell. He followed after Ace, wondering how strong of a mage Zin would be. He walked to an open space and waited for Zin to arrive there so that they could practice. "I wonder if he will care whether she tries the missile or the shield?"

Master Ace - September 13, 2004 08:30 PM (GMT)
After having everyone situtated outside, Master Ace casted Major illusion so he send his voice to all of them at once. "Alright. The first one's to use Magic Missile will be Kli, Shythnirr, Zin, and Bruno. Don't wait too late to cast sheild. If you fear you won't make it in time you may cast sheild now," Ace said and then paused to let some of students who were less sure of themselves cast Sheild. "You may now cast magic missle!"

Draco wanted to wait before casting the spell. His cold eyes stared at Shythriir and waited for his movement. He streched his wings as he heard Ace told the others to use magic missle.

Bruno went throught the movents of the spell and murmured the a few acrane words. A small translucent jet of magic shot out from his finger tips abd rushed towards Kyonis.
