Aeri loved Cascadia. It was a treasure trove of song, art, dance... The very essence of inspiration. She came, near exhaustion through the fine gates, riding Rayis with Telyn who now served the noble cause of pack horse with Rayis's coming. She had little objection, though, because now the sturdy pony carried an important pair of passengers.
The hatchling dragons were only a few weeks old. Their wings had only begun to completely unfurl and they were each curled up comfortably in each of the saddlepacks on either of Telyn's sides.
Aeri had just finished doing battle with the murderer of their mother and nestmates, a dragonslayer who went by the name of B'ynn al'Tor. She had fought him off for the time being, for which she was relieve. Now, yet again, she sought refuge in Cascadia for rest.
As they made their way down the lovely stone cobbled streets, the market bustled. People moved aside for the unicorn, rider, and horse. The hatchlings watched in what might have been wonder as the walked through the crowd. Sometimes people would notice and point, whispering in wonder. Some people recognized Aeri and would call out greetings that she would return just as cheerfully.
Finally they made it to the Inn of Broken Strings. It was a popular place where Aeri stayed at often. There was always someone performing, singing, dancing, or storytelling. She left Rayis to leave the city and grave beyond its gates on the green banks of the pond which the great waterfalls fell into.
Telyn was left with the stablehands to munch on hay and oats. Aeri unpacked her saddlebags. The hatchling dragons, being almost as large as a cat and twice as long as on including the tails, wrapped their ways up her shoulder, not at all hesitant. They seemed to be attatched to her ever since she had helped him.
She stood in the common room at the counter, waiting for the serving maid to come. The many people watched her in interest. Indeed she must have been a sight, with two young, silver-white baby dragons on each of her shoulders, chirping every now and again to each other.
