Title: Looking for a new spell...

Jalek - August 25, 2004 08:05 PM (GMT)
Jalek sat at a desk, it was large and round and had one other seet on the other side. At both seats, there was an indent in the table, a crescent, like a half moon, so the table wrapped partially around you when you sat close to it in the seats where they're supposed to be.

Well, he had a pile of about five or six books to his left, and one to his right, he had already skimmed through the book to his right and was now skimming through another, looking for some spells he had heard of, Urulóki spells. He was still energetic, though this didn't thrill him much, he still had a few hours of reading in him yet. So, he continued, constantly looking up to give his eyes a rest from the text on the pages.

He was infatuated with the library itself, it was grand, the only problem was that you cannot lend a book from the library like the ones in his home realm. Strange, but he now called this place, Imythess home...

Edainme - August 25, 2004 08:17 PM (GMT)
Edainme had spent her time in Talas learning from the cleric there and she was now confident in her healing capabilities. She now needed more, fo she could never find her peace through vengance if all she knew was curative magic. She had heard of this Academy of Magic and knew that it was the place that she would have to go to fine tune her natural abilities into something more powerful. She entered the grounds and walked around for a while taking things in. There were so many people she felt like she could get lost and no one would even notice. She went inside and looked for the library. When she had first found her mother's hidden spellbook she knew that she must fill its pages once more. At last the library was found and she entered, always silent and careful not to stare too much at everything that seemed so new to her. She walked along the shelves, looking for something that caught her eye. There was one book, it's title was "Storm Kindler," and she took it from the shelf. Interested in this book she sat at the nearest table and opened it. Flipping through the pages she began to learn about what a storm kindler was and what kind of power there was in such training. Perhaps she would some day like to become a storm kindler, but for now she had to master the basics before she thought of anything more advanced. Lost in her book she didn't notice the man at the table with her.

Jalek - August 25, 2004 08:33 PM (GMT)
Jalek finished going through the book, and found some pointers on Urulóki Magi. He learned how to strengthen his abilities as a Urulóki Mage, and summon more powerful Urulóki kinds at times of need, as well as summon spirits of those kinds, the dragons. He wished to hell and back to become the Urulóki Master, but the position was far from him from where he sat, but he was working on it.

He put the book on the book to his right and looked up. He saw a woman, she was grand in beauty, he couldn't pry his eyes from hers, even though she was deep in a book that seemed to keep her intrigued.

It wasn't like him to speak to people he didn't know, so he didn't start a conversation. He was rather shy when it came to beautiful women anyway. He just took another book from the pile to his left, and opened it. It read...

Edainme - August 25, 2004 08:43 PM (GMT)
Sighing, Edainme decided that she had enough information on the storm kindler, what she needed was to know more about magic that would do harm to those of evil. She needed something substantial, something so pure and good that it would smite even the strongest of dark masters. She stood again, placing her pack on the table then put the book back on the shelf where it had come from. She walked around a little more, looking for an appropriate book, but found nothing. There is not a book in all of this great academy that can give me what I need? she thought to herself. She returned to her seat and propped her chin upon her palms. This was not going to be easy, but she couldn't give up. She had nothing to turn back to, all that was there for her was to move on and master her powers. She galnced sideways and finally noticed the man at the table. He had a stack of books next to him and he was reading through one at the moment. She glanced at the titles and saw one that might just be what she was looking for. "Excuse me," she said shyly, "may I see that book, the one called 'The Infused?'" She had heard something about a school of magic where the student could bind a celestial to their very soul, and she believed that it was called infused something.

Jalek - August 25, 2004 08:56 PM (GMT)
He looked up at the woman that he had shyly not said hi to and spoke, 'Oh umm, this one here... I've read through it, it speaks about Celestial Ancestry and other things that are prominant in Celestia. What are you looking for in it?' He handed her the book and looked into her eyes, they had a sort of brilliant glow to them. He was telling the truth. He just wanted to start a conversation with her, he was extremely shy, and his heartbeat uplifted a bit.

'I hope she says somthing, I hope she says somthing...' he thought to himself.

Loki - August 25, 2004 08:56 PM (GMT)
Loki was rather proud, she'd found a spell that allowed her to gain a human form, and she intended to use it. At the moment she was still a little lax in her powers, so she couldn't appear fully human. She had a pair of horns curling down from above her ears and behind her ears, and back around.

She still held the book, and wandered over to the table, and dropped into a seat.

Edainme - August 25, 2004 09:02 PM (GMT)
Greatful for the man's kindness, she smiled. "I wish to study the ways of the infused, I wanted to know more about it and where I would go to recieve such training. It sounds like Celestia would be the place to go from what you say." She took the book and set it down in front of her and opened her mouth to say thank you but she stopped when a lady sat near them. She was very surprised, she had never seen anyone with horns before. She glanced down at her book so as not to stare and instead mouthed the words 'thank you' to the man and opened the book.

Jalek - August 25, 2004 09:02 PM (GMT)
Jalek sensed a Urulóki in his presence. He silently cast his spell, Faerie Fire to illuminate all Urulóki (dragon) kind in the library. He looked, only one had been lit, he quickly undid the spell so none would notice. It was one two tables down and one to the right of him. He got up and walked over to her.

'Hello, my name is Jalek... Have you happen to come across any books that tell you a spell to increase your Urulóki magi over time? It would be of great help to me.' he said to her. He wanted to start a conversation with this woman, because he was part Urulóki as well.

He turned back to the other woman after she was done talking and said, ''Yes, the infused, there is somthing in that book about that, not too much though, I am afraid. May I ask your name? Mine is Jalek Zalmoonah. A pleasure to meet you...'

He took her hand and kissed it. He then invited her to have a seat, next to him at the table that the Urulóki was at.

Loki - August 25, 2004 09:19 PM (GMT)
Loki looked up, blinking once as Jalek spoke. She waited until he had finished speaking, then answered his question.

"No, at least not that many that can help those who already look human." She raised an eyebrow. "Unless of course you believe those spells would help you that much," She paused for a momant, then continued, "Of course you have to be a certain age, or have a certain amount of power or magic to be able to, so I suppose that you could say that, yes, I did find a spell that works that way."

She smirked slightly, closing her book. "I am Loki, Black."

Jalek - August 25, 2004 09:25 PM (GMT)
He thought to himself for a moment. He sat, and opened a book that he had in his hands, he set the rest on the table. He looked at the script and found nothing.

'You, no doubt, are a Urulóki, no? I can sense it within you, I am a Urulóki and also a Urulóki Mage. But, undoubtly, I am also Quendi. My name is Jalek. A pleasure to meet you.' He held his hand out to shake hers. When she put her hand in his, he brought her hand to his lips and placed his lips against the back of her hand.

Loki - August 25, 2004 09:38 PM (GMT)
The dragon nodded. "Yes, I am." She paused, and raised an eyebrow. "Quendi? I have not heard of those yet..." She raised an eyebrow. "But I suppose that doesn't matter. You are half-dragon?"

She was quiet for a moment. "Which colour was your dragon parent?" She couldn't help but ask, she was curious about this...

Jalek - August 25, 2004 09:47 PM (GMT)
He looked at her and said, 'Yes, I am half. Quendi, umm, elven folk, drow. Those people. Except I belong neither to Quendi, nor Urulóki. My dragon parent. I heard she was white, the same color as I, when in my Urulóki form. I also lead a group called the Union of Urulóki, a dragon guild. You can find it in the Dragon Spine Mountains.'

Loki - August 25, 2004 10:03 PM (GMT)
"Hm..." Loki raised an eyebrow. "I am part of the Elder Dragon council, which also resides in the mountains, though..." The dragon smirked. "I'm not quite old enough to be called an elder."

She laughed quietly. "A white dragon hm? Ice and snow."

Jalek - August 25, 2004 10:07 PM (GMT)
Are released from Jalek's body, he exhauled deeply, the spoke under his breath... 'Her again, the elder dragons. I'm loosing ground to them...' He shook his head and looked at her as though he was disgusted, not at her, but the clan, the clan's leader. The entire thing about it. He spoke, 'I will not associate with the elder dragons... It is not your fault, you are a kindred dragon, it's just the guild itself...'

Loki - August 25, 2004 10:22 PM (GMT)
Loki couldn't help but laugh. "Why do you hate them? It it because of the competition they show you?" She raised an eyebrow, then rested her elbows on the table, and her head on one hand. "Did one of the True Elders try to eat you?"

She smiled. "I'm not trying to be a pest or anything, all the council really is, at least to me, is a group of my own kind." She paused. "Even if Munwithurix-" She scowled. "Is in it as well."

Edainme - August 25, 2004 11:02 PM (GMT)
Edainme blushed when the man kissed her hand. She quietly responded, looking down. "My name is Edainme, it is nice to met you as well." She sat next to him quietly and tried still not to stare at the lady with the horns. She was very shy so she simply sighed and opened the book. Inisde there were brillint pictures of Celestia and she flipped to the beginning paragraph where they spoke of the infused. As she read on she got more and more curious. This was what she would need to do what it would take to avenge the loss of her family. She wrote every important piece of information down that she could and slipped the book back across the table to the now empty seat. Her next destination was the place that her parents used to live so that she may find answers about the man that had destroyed her family, then she would go to Celestia to find the Infused Training Master or Mistress. She looked up and remembered that she was in the company of others, but they were talking of something that she knew nothing about. She listened as quiet as always, trying to think of something to add to the conversation.

Jalek - August 25, 2004 11:48 PM (GMT)
He looked at her, he was a bit shy, even after what happened, so he said to her, 'What brings you to this library, other than, what was it 'the infused'? I am here to try to read up on the archmage skills and controlling dragons, I already can, partially, I've just got to stengthen my skills. Tell me, why are you so interested in infusion and celestial prowess?' He took another book out and looked at the cover...

The Archmage

Edainme - August 25, 2004 11:56 PM (GMT)
Edainme chewed on her lower lip a little. She hadn't told anyone of her reasons for doing what she was, but he was so nice, she didn't see any harm in telling him a little. "I desire to grow very powerful in the ways of holy magic for I have an enemy that must pay for his evil ways and I am not powerful enough to do anything to harm him yet. I hope that if I can become one of the infused that I will have the strength in me to end his vile existence." She was trying to avoid telling the tale of what had happened in her home, what the black mage had done, because she was not ready to talk about it yet. She chewed on her lip some more, unused to so much newness and a little nervous.

Loki - August 26, 2004 12:27 AM (GMT)
Loki eyed the book on archmages with a slight suspicion. "Hm...I can see why some might prefer using magic to physical attacks...all you need to do is have the opponent in range..." She shrugged. "Don't see why they'd bet their lives on it though."

She just seemed to be zoning out, then her hands opened the book again, and flipped to the index, and her inder finger slipped down the listings, stopping finally on Healing Spells.

Basic Heal Spell
There was a small mark by the spell, and she nodded slightly to herself, mouthing the words. She paused then looked up at the other female. "How many healing spells do you know?"

Jalek - August 26, 2004 12:32 AM (GMT)
He looked at the two and said, 'Everyone has thier enemies, it just matters what or who that takes the shape of the enemy...' He continued reading...

Archmagic can be learnt at local institutions and schools, or by your local educator, preferably at the Academy of Magic. An Archmage student must know a minimum of twenty spells, and must....

Edainme - August 27, 2004 09:07 PM (GMT)
Edainme thought for a moment before responding. "I know all four of the mainstream healing spells, heal, greater heal, resurrect and raise dead. I have a little natural ability but it is not very powerful. As for the shape of my enemy," she said to the man, "it haunts me in my dreams every night. Never will I forget it..." She trailed off, full of sad memories.
