Title: Coming To Imythess
Description: a little late but whatever...

Loki - August 24, 2004 08:25 PM (GMT)
Loki swam calmly between the rows of boats, looking for a place to pull herself out of the water and onto the land. Her tail moved back and forth, cutting slowly through the water.

Her scales gleamed in the light, and a small, peaceful smile was on her face. She let out a puff of breath that bubbled upwards through the water, up and to the surface.

It was undeniable that this was her element, and that this was where she belonged. She turned her head to the surface, then calmly swam upwards.

The Sailors were in for a shock.

Valdearg - August 24, 2004 08:32 PM (GMT)
Valdearg flew swiftly over the ocean, intent on his destination, ignoring everything else but the thrill of flying. However, even flying can become dull if done for to long, Valdearg quickly looked for ways to stave off bordom, determined to find something exciting to so. It was by chance that he looked down at his reflection in the water at the same time that Loki was swimming by. At first he thought it was just his shadow making the reflection appear darker, but when he moved to the side, the figure stayed there.

He practically stopped in mid flight and stayed where he was, hovering in the air. He saw a few bubbles break the surface, and noticed that the shape was getting even larger. His keen eyes soon determined what it was, it was a dragon, but what was it doing swimming in the bay? He finally had found a way to keep himself from getting bored, but it had driven all thoughts of his destination from his mind. He decided to stick around and find out anything he could about this new dragon.

Loki - August 24, 2004 09:17 PM (GMT)
Lokis' head broke the surface of the water as she came closer to the edge of a dock. Her foreclaws sunk into the wood as she pulled herself free from the water, which dripped from her scales to form a pool on the dock. She flicked her tail to remove some of the water from it, and did the same with her wings.

A few sailors stopped in the middle of their work to stare at the dragon in numb shock. One had enough courage to point at the dragon and get their jaw opening and closing.

Loki simply eyed them calmly, eyes blinking once every few seconds.

Valdearg - August 24, 2004 09:28 PM (GMT)
Valdearg watched as the black dragon clambered up onto the dock, wonderign what it thought it was doing. He slowly began to fly around in circles watching the reactions of the scared workers, surprised that they hadn't run away by now. He slowly floated down until he landed gently on the dock in front of the other dragon. He settled down on the wood, keeping an eye on the other dragon, watching in case it decided to attack him. He turned his head and looked straight into the eyes of the other dragon, trying to decide how to start off this conversation.

Loki - August 24, 2004 09:49 PM (GMT)
The smaller dragon looked at Valdearg in shock for a moment, but it was replaced by a strange, unnatural calm, at least in reference to this dragon. She nodded her head carefully to the Red, eyes never leaving his face. Her wings folded to her back again, and she calmly sank to a sitting position, her head tilted to one side.

"Hello." Her voice seemed just off kilter, and out of focus. "I didn't think I'd run into another dragon so soon." She glanced at the sailors again, her eyes still filled with that strange unthreatened calm.

Valdearg - August 28, 2004 03:04 PM (GMT)
"well, I wasn't exactly expecting to see a dragon rise up out of the ocean and terrify a bunch of sailers, so I guess that we both had something unexpected happen. Valdearg glanced around at the sailers that were still there, he decided they weren't there because they were brave, it was because they were to scared to move. Shaking his head, he turned back to face the black dragon. "My name is Valdearg, what is yours?"

Loki - August 28, 2004 05:14 PM (GMT)
The younger dragon blinked, then laughed quietly, seemingly in embarrassment. "I didn't think that it'd be day out when I got to whatever was over here..." She paused then continued, the embarrasment worsening. "I'm terribly sorry, I completely forgot my manners. I am Loki."

She paused. "What is the name of this land? I haven't seen a map in ages, I was just taking a gamble I wouldn't swim off the edghe of the world..."

Valdearg - August 28, 2004 08:34 PM (GMT)
"This land is called Imythess, you are currently in the city of Talas." Valdearg watched Loki with interest, wondering what it was that would have inspired her to just swim across an ocean when she didn't even know if there was something there. "Well Loki, it is a pleasure to meet you, I hope you decide to stay here. If you do however, you will find that the ranks of pure dragons are diminishing. There are very few pure dragons left, most are half-dragons."

Loki - August 30, 2004 03:55 AM (GMT)
"Really?" Loki looked rather stunned. "I had no idea that we could start disappearing, dying off," She shook her head. "It's stupid."

She glared at one of the ships, "Imythess..." She nodded slightly. "Yes...I think I like this place so far..." She half-closed her eyes.

"No one's tried to jab me with a piece of sharpened metal so far, after all..." She said dryly.
