Title: Horse Master
Lilith - August 24, 2004 12:01 AM (GMT)
~Lilith walked into the stables with only her backpack and the clothes on her back. She knocked on the door that was the stable house where the Horse masters and stable hands slept. A tall, dark haired man answered the door. Lilith noticed that his arm was wrapped up as if he had broken it. She gulped and looked him in the eyes."Hello Sir. I am Lilith, one of your new horse masters." She held out her hand and the man stared at it. Finally he cleared his throat and took her hand with his useable one. "Lilith I am the owner. You may call me Sir." Lilith waited for him to tell her his name but he didn't offer. She glanced nervously about trying to see the inside of the house. The man stepped aside and allowed her to walk into the room. The first room she came to was a small dining area. Then there was the living room with very few furnishings. So far, Lilith didn't see anything she liked. The man lead her upstairs to the room that was to be hers. It was small with only a bed and bathroom. Lilith sat on the bed, to find out it was as hard as a brick. She forced a smile and the man grunted. "Thank you Sir.I suppose I can learn to uh.. like it." He frowned at this and shut the door. "Wow. What a rude individual..." She unpacked the few clothing she had and placed her sword upright against the wall. She took in her sorroundings and and walked to the small window. It was a low point where the roof met the floor forming a slight window seat. Lilith had to scrunch down on all fours to look out the window. She waited to see if anyone else would arrive.~
(no one replied so I shall continue)
Lilith sat by the window until she heard the man calling her name. She rushed downstairs and found the man by a large window. "Lilith it is time you tended to the horses." Lilith stared at the man's back for a few moments and replied. "Yes sir. I will get to that now." She waited only a moment before turning around and heading out the door.
At the stable, Lilith found a group of children playing with the horses. They were taunting them and calling them names. This enraged Lilith to the point that she wanted to shout at them and call them names. But being a lover of children, she just stood there smiling. Then she politely said, "Children, I am the new horse master Lilith. You may call me Lily. Now it's time to run off and play elsewhere while I tend to the horses." One of the bigger children snickered at her and told his friends they'd find a cleaner place to play. As he and his friends were leaving, the boy turned around and said, "Oh Lily don't forget to clean the stalls out good.I wouldn't want it to ruin my brand new leather shoes." He ran away laughing. Lilith's face turned bright red. She had never been talked to like that by a child. She decided she would tell his mother.
In the stall, Lilith found a rusty old brush. She stared at it then looked up at the big brown horse that was looming slightly above her. "Hm well this will not do! I shall go into town tomorrow and buy a brush fit for a racing horse!" With this the horse snorted and looked down at her with his warm, brown eyes. Lilith began to hum a lullaby that she'd heard as a child and she brushed the horse. After feeding him and the others, she stood at the opening of the stables just as the sun was falling below the horizon. She smiled delightfully and walked back towards the house.
Miranda - August 24, 2004 01:36 AM (GMT)
The cool breeze surrounding the tree brushed across the small forest clearing. Singing birds continued to hum their hym. A young girl that seemed to walk rather odd strolled down the side of the wilderness lodge. "This is going to be quite fun. I can see it now", she says, in an emotionless tone. Her fake wings on her back seemed to wobble back and forth, as did she herself. "Oh wow....I am sensing that someone is watching. I wonder who it could be." As if a robot, she looks around scanning the area. "Section clear. There seems to be no one watching from outside." The young girl continued her way around the lodge, till she found the front door. Her hands seemed to bang on the door as hard as she could, but such little sound was beginning to vibrate off. "Hello....is anyone there.", she says, keeping the same mono tone. A large man, in a cast looking splint answered the door. But wrether than answering, he stood there. He was a hulk of a man, with his jet black hair. "I wish to partake in this merry little adventure which may be taking care of horses." The man stood there, without responding. "It's ok...I know where my room is..." Miranda walked right under the man, and turned around a couple hallway corners. Walking up a winding set of stairs, she noticed that the air had a strange stench. A long hall of doors poked out into her vision. "One of these must be it..." She thought for a moment, and then went into the second room. "This...this is not good. There seems to be too much of nothing." Miranda sat down, and waited. She had no idea what she was waiting for exactly....but she sat...and waited.
Lilith - August 24, 2004 02:08 AM (GMT)
~Lilith had already gone up to her room by the time she heard someone knocking on the door downstairs. For a mintue Lilith's heart froze then she calmed herself by the remebrance that she wasn't at her old house therefore she didn't need to be frightened. The thought of her past made her cringe. Soon she heard footsteps going past her door. She waited to see if the new person would come in. Lilith slipped on her slippers and creaked open her door. Peeking around the corner, she saw that the door to the second room was open. Silently she slipped down the hall and stood at the door. She listened for sounds and hearing none, she peeked around the door. She saw a girl sitting on the bed. The girl seemed to be waiting for something. Not wanting to dissapoint her, Lilith backed out. Then she realized she would eventually have to introduce herself. She made alot of noise as if she were walking down the hall so she wouldn't startle the girl. Walking right into the room, Lilith extended her hand. "Hello there! I am the faerie Lilith. I'm one of the horse masters.May I ask what your name is and what you do here?" Lilith put on her most cheerful voice and hoped she didn't sound creepy.~
Miranda - August 24, 2004 02:40 AM (GMT)
"I already knew your name. It is nice to meet you Lady Lilith. I expect great things from you here. I am Miranda, also here to be a horsemaster. I must admit, it is not generally my thing. But I have decided to try it out. I shall soon go on my search for a unicorn. And having horse training will help me.", she says in a very solid voice. Once again, she did not seem to show emotion. Others were unable to tell if it was because she was scared, nervous, or just doesn't have strong emotions for many things. "Is there anything I can do to help around here?"
Zennith - August 24, 2004 03:20 AM (GMT)
(( Heh, While I'm not busy trying to kill myself, I might RP something relaxing, huh? ~_~ ))
Zennith hiked up the hill, "Phew, that was tiring."
He dug into his pockets and brought up 5 gold peices.
Shocked, "Is this all the money I have?!"
Zennith check his other pockets, but with no success.
"It would be easier if I just bought a horse, or something. Then I could travel faster back to my destination."
Zennith sat there, "Where am I go again?"
...
Zennith pounded his head, "I'm supposed to be a genious!!!!!"
Then he spotted a little barn up ahead, "Lucky! I guess I can take a break there!"
He went up to the barn and found that there was horses in it.
"Hmmm? Well, since I've got nothing better to do, I'll have to sleep with horses." Zennith went inside.
When he went inside he saw some saddles, "I'll use those as pillows!"
He picked up the saddle and looked around, he kicked up some hay, and made it into a "bed"
"This'll do." Zennith sneezed, "Hmmm..."
The horse pushed Zennith, "What? You want a piece of me?"
Zennith pulled his sleeve and, revieling his menacing tatooes, "I have many many spells that could do very harmful things!"
Zennith felt silly, "Its not a person."
He patted the horse, then got onto the ground and layed there.
"Now, where was I going?" Zennith wondered.
Then he heard a slithering noice.
A snake.
Zennith was suprised, and so was the horse.
"Whoa! I hope its not poisonious!" Zennith said, he was blocked by the horse. The horse was freaked out, and started whinning.
The horse kicked Zennith in the face.
Zennith's vision was blurred, and he saw multiple snakes crawling up his arm. He wanted to move but he was so heavy, as if it was weighted. Zennith fainted.
Lilith - August 24, 2004 11:56 PM (GMT)
Lilith opened her mouth to reply to the strange girl, when she heard a noise. “What was that?” She walked over to the girl’s window and opened it. Immediately she recognized the sound. “The horses! They’re making all that racket. They must have gotten spooked.” Without waiting for the girl to reply, she ran out of the room. She practically flew down the stairs, wheezing right past the stunned owner. He stared after her with a startled expression upon his face.
Lilith ran to the barn and used her skills to calm the horses. Then she noticed a black figure lying on the ground. “What in the gods’ name?” Cautiously, she approached the figure. It was dark inside of the barn so Lilith cast light. Instantly the barn was lit up. She realized it was a man that seemed to be hurt. Still not sure if she should try and help the man, Lilith grabbed a stick and poked him. “Hmm he doesn’t seem to be harmful…maybe he needs help.” She realized she was talking to herself and blushed. She got down on one knee and brushed the straw away from the man’s face.
“Zennith!” Lilith was startled to find out it was a man she knew. Remembering what had happened not so long ago, she sat down to think about what she should do. *If I help him, he will cause havoc once again. He is a murderer and doesn’t deserve to live. But who am I to judge another?” Finally Lilith decided she couldn’t leave him there to die. She put her hands on his chest and closed her eyes. She felt the warm glow that flowed from her hands into his body as she cast greater heal. She waited to see if he would awaken.
Miranda - August 25, 2004 12:04 AM (GMT)
"That was not a very good idea" Miranda had somehow made it down just as fast as Lillith, if not faster. She then finished her thought, making it seem like the whole meaning of her words was different. "I wouldn't get too close to him. Can you not see those snakes right on him?" Miranda had taken a side path that she had noticed. If you take the back way, it takes you straight to the barn, but only she would know that for now. "If you are afraid of snakes, I could help you." The puppet girl seemed to want to help people. Maybe she wanted that warm feeling inside of helping another. She had never felt any of these human-like felling before.
Lilith - August 25, 2004 12:19 AM (GMT)
Lilith stared curiously at the girl. “Well I’m not really scared of snakes… I don’t think they will harm me. I have a certain handling animals skill.” She smiled at the girl warmly. She was slightly curious as to why the girl didn’t seem to have any facial expressions. Lilith turned her attention back to the man at her feet. “Well my healing spell doesn’t seem to have worked. It must be poison, which I cannot heal. Tomorrow morning I will take a horse and ride into town to get a doctor. Until then the man can stay in my room. I will care for him.” She tried to lift the man and found he was too heavy. “Hmm maybe we should get some help for this.” She turned around and stared at the girl waiting to see what she would suggest. *I don’t think I should tell her who this is. She may not be too happy about a murderer being in the same house as she.* Lilith tried to make her face go blank. She wonder if she had achieved it.
(Zennith won't be joining us again for awhile. So we'll just have to rp around him.)
Miranda - August 25, 2004 02:28 PM (GMT)
Miranda stood there, blank in her head. She had no idea what to say, and quite frankly didnt' want to say anything. Instead she walked over and picked up the snake. She carefully held it right by it's head, and by it's tail. She tried to walk a bit faster over towards the woods, and threw the snake. She walked back and saw that the other snake had then left. "That was easy." Miranda looked at the fairy girl and wondered why her heal spell didn't work. But after she said something about poison that it could of been, Miranda knew what to do. "In town, there is a small shop. It has certain remedies for releiving poison."
Right after Miranda had spoken her peace, Lilith had said that the man could stay in her room. "Are you sure...it is a privaledge for us to be in that house. Should you really be so indecent and allow a total stranger to come into the house? I do not feel that this is right. And then....what about the creepy man.", she says, in her same boring tone.
Lilith - August 26, 2004 12:42 AM (GMT)
Lilith fell into a daze listening to the girl talk. When she realized she had finished speaking, she stood there trying to remember what Miranda had said. “Oh yea you’re probably right. In fact I’m going to ride into town tonight and place him in the doctor’s care. Would you like to go? But first we really should tend to the other horses. They got pretty spooked. Can you help me and give them each a sugar block? They keep them behind the saddles over there.” Lilith pointed in the direction of the saddles and began stroking the horse that was in the stall with the unconscious man. She grabbed a horse brush from off the ground and began to brush him. She turned around for a bit to see if the girl was going to help out. Lilith sighed and turned back around. *What a strange girl…*She rubbed the horse’s head and whispered soothing words into its ear. “It’s okay horsy. This man can’t hurt you. Just relax and close your eyes.” She hummed a lullaby and soon the horse was calm and collected once again.
Miranda - August 26, 2004 01:12 AM (GMT)
Miranda nodded and walked in the direction of the saddles. She noticed that there were some almost half her size. "Horses can get really big...", she says to herself. The girl struggled to move some of the saddles over to another area so she could get the sugar blocks. "These things arn't big enough for these horses....but oh well.", she says, continuing to talk to herself barely loud enough for even herself to hear. She took out a couple of sugar blocks, and put them in the small horse feeding buckets.
"Is this right?" Miranda continued to issue out the sugar blocks to each horse. "Here's one for Firestar....one for Shirley....one for Mikey...and one for Whiplash..." Miranda continued on about naming the horses as she gave them each a sugar block, as if she knew them in a distant life....but this time...she spoke out loud enough for Lillith to hear her. Miranda turned around back to the fairy girl who was a bit taller than she was. "What else can I do?" The young puppet then remembered what Lillith had asked earlier of her. "Oh...and I'd love to go to the store and help you.."
Lilith - August 27, 2004 12:49 AM (GMT)
Lilith watched the girl for awhile as she named off the horses. She shrugged and walked over to the saddles. She picked out two and saddled two of the horses that seemed calm. "I'm going to run inside and get a blanket for the man." She said to Miranda. Then she ran inside and almost ran straight into the owner. "What in the blazes is going on here?!" Lilith tried to walk around the man but he blocked her path. "Sir please Miranda and I have it under control. We found a man unconsious in the stable and we're going to take him to the doctors in town. We'll be back before dawn settles." The man snorted and let her pass. "You better have that thief out of the stable tonight or I'll be sure to get arid of him." Lilith turned around and glared at the man. "Sir you have nothing to worry about." She flipped her hair and ran up the stairs.
She came back out to the stable with her backpack full of food and medical supplies in case the man woke up. She tossed the blanket over the black horse named Whiplash. "Here help me get him up." She said to Miranda. She hoped she heard her because she couldn't see Miranda at the time. Lilith decided not to wait for her and tried to lift him. She got him about half way up leaning against the horse. "Miranda?"
Selena Starling - August 27, 2004 09:29 AM (GMT)
Selena strolled down the busy city streets to reach the stables. She wanted to visit her dear friend Lilith and see how she liked being a horse master. Selena loved animals too and therefore could understand the fairy's passion for horses. As she finally crossed the city square she could already see the sign saying 'The Stables' high in the air. She smiled, threw her hair over her shoulder and kept on walking. I wonder how she is doing. Selena asked herself. I haven't seen her in a long time. I do hope she is well.
Lilith - August 28, 2004 12:59 AM (GMT)
Lilith gulped down a big breath and turned back to her work. “Well if you’re not going to help me suppose I’ll have to do this myself.” Lilith called out. *Where is that girl?* Lilith was still a little bit suspicious towards her. Something seemed slightly off whenever the girl talked. Her voice never seemed to change pitch. But Lilith didn’t have time to deal with such things at the moment. She heaved the man up the rest of the way and checked his pulse. “Omygods…” The man had no pulse. Lilith quickly cast Greater Heal but nothing happened. “Uhm Miranda if you’re in here you might want to check this out.” Lilith waited for a reply and getting none she sat down. “What am I going to do?” A tear fell down her cheek. “Zennith… the mastermind…is dead.” Lilith didn’t know why she was sad. He had killed so many people. And she had watched them all die. Now he was gone…forever.
Admiral Ice - August 28, 2004 01:12 AM (GMT)
Drake walked up to the stables in his elf form he was tired and looking for a place to stay for a day or two. He walked up to the door of a building a knocked on it. He waited for a while and no one answered, so Drake knocked on the door again. This time a large man opened the door and looked at him "What do you want, I don't have time for this right now so hurry up and anwer me." Drake jumped back surprised by the man's tone of voice "I'm looking for a place to rest for a while i was wondering if i could stay here for a day or two." The man slammed the door in his face and Drake knocked on the door again "I promise I won't make any noise i'll stay quiet and won't make a sound." Drake yelled at the door but nobody answered "What am i going to do now?" Drake thought to himself still looking at the door.
Lilith - August 28, 2004 02:17 AM (GMT)
Lilith jumped as she heard a voice that she recongized. “Drake? Couldn’t be…” Lilith scurried out of the stable leaving the dead man on top of the horse. *Hopefully he can help me…* She ran out and saw Drake standing there in his elf form. “Drake!” She ran up to him and hugged him tight. Then she started talking a million miles an hour. “Omygod Drake there was this guy and he came here and I knew him before and he’s dead now and I think it was from a snake bite and I don’t know what to do and he was a murderer and I don’t know why I feel so bad! Drake help!” She gasped for air. She tried to calm herself down. “Okay let me start over…There was a man named Zennith that came here. He must have been looking for a place to stay. He was bitten by a snake, I have no clue what kind, and the poison quickly entered his body. I didn’t have time to heal him before the poison got to him. I cast Greater Heal upon him, but it did nothing. Now he is dead. I don’t know what do with him. He was a murderer and once upon a time, he had cast a spell upon me…making me a …murderer.” She collapsed onto Drake. She cried into his chest.
Admiral Ice - August 28, 2004 09:08 PM (GMT)
Drake put his arms around her and listened to what she said but Drake was more concerned with Lilith he had never seen her cry before and it bothered him "Please don't cry show me where he is." Drake said he wanted to smile when he saw her but he couldn't after all of this. Drake was happy to see Lilith again it had been so long since they he had last seen her. At first Drake wanted to tell her everything about what he had been doing since he last spoke to her but he knew that this wasn't the best time for that. Drake looked in the direction Lilith had come from "Is it that way?" he asked looking down at her he didn't know what else to say to her. Though their where many things he wanted to tell her it would probably just make things worse so he stood still holding her in his arms and looked down at her waiting for some kind of a response, it was all he could do at this point.
Lilith - August 28, 2004 11:49 PM (GMT)
Lilith polymorphed into a grey cat and told Drake to follow her. She felt like the death of the man was her fault and she still didn't know where Miranda had gone. She really didn't want to be spotted in her real form at that moment. She walked into the stables and sat on her hind legs."He's in theeerre.", she purred. She stared with her bright blue cat eyes and they misted over. She meowed pitifully and tears fell into her fur. She pawed at her face and wiped the tears away. Then she retreated into a corner and curled into a ball. *I will not alllow myself to think this is my fault!*, she thought mournfully. She stared into the nothingness that was her pain at that moment. The mixture of sadness, madness, and pain was beginning to turn her mad. *No please I can not change back into the old Lilith.* She slapped herself hard with her paw. She polymorphed into a hawk and landed on Drake's shoulder. "What are we going to do?"
Lamya - August 29, 2004 12:36 AM (GMT)
Lamya watched from a distance. She was planning on stealing from the owner as soon as the others left. She had watched the fairy turn into a cat and thought it interesting. She was curious as to what all the comotion was, but at that moment she was more hooked on the thought of gold. She silently slipped past the two in the barn and checked the bottom windows to see if any were open. She found one. Lifting it quietly, she peeked in to see where the man that had repeatedly answered the door. She didn't hear a sound. She slipped into the window and found herself in the living room. She hid in the shadows and listened for a sound. She heard a creaking off the stairs and slipped further into the shadows. She looked over and realized she had left the window open. She waited to see what the man would do.
Admiral Ice - August 29, 2004 08:34 PM (GMT)
Drake followed her into the barn and walked ove to the man then knelt down beside him and looked over at Lilith "He's definatley dead. The only thing I can think of to do is to bury him somewhere." Drake picked up the man's body and walked over to Lilth "Please Lilith stop crying. Now do you know of any place where we could bury him?" As Drake looked at Lilith he realized something was troubling her more than just the dead man. "Lilith what's wrong?" he asked Drake didn't notice the girl slip into the window behind them he was to busy with Lilith but even if he had noticed he probably would have told himself it was just his shadow or a fox or other wild animal he didn't want to see Lilith like this so he asked her again "Please tell me if something's wrong I promise you it will stay between us." Drake said looking at her he completely forgot about the body he wa holding in his hands.
Lilith - August 30, 2004 05:43 PM (GMT)
"It's nothing really... I just knew this man once...He was an evil, evil person and I remember the things he made me do!" She turned back into her regular form and brushed off her dress that had collected hay and dirt. "Please let us just bury him and get it over with. I do not want to recollect the memories that haunt my dreams so." Her eyes glazed over in remembrance. *I must never speak of the crimes he made me commit. If people knew, no if my friends knew, they would never speak to me again. I would blend into the shadows and be forgotten. Why would anyone want to know their friend had murdered helpless children and their mothers?! I can not let anyone know.* She fought at the tears that threatened to spill over. *I will not make a fool of myself any longer.* She straightened up and looked Drake in the eyes. "I am ready to do this. We should walk some distance and bury him off this property."
Miranda - August 30, 2004 05:47 PM (GMT)
*Dunno what happened...I forgot all about this place...*
Miranda looked up at all the new people that walked into the barn. "Are you sure you want to burry that poor man? He may not even be dead...." Still, Miranda's tone was the same monotonous feel.
Lilith - August 31, 2004 11:20 PM (GMT)
Startled, Lilith spun around. "Miranda! Where have you been?" She glanced at her face and saw no emotion at all about the dead man. "I am positive he is dead. He holds no pulse." Lilith casted her eyes upon the ground in what could have been seen as shame. "I did all I could. Please let us just bury him." She walked on one side of the man and grabbed underneath him trying to lift him up. "Well the two of you help me please?!"
Admiral Ice - September 1, 2004 01:46 AM (GMT)
Drake walked over and picked up the other end of the body then looked at the girl who had just enetered "So you'r Miranda?" He asked. Drake couldn't help but notice something different about this girl he didn't know wheather this was good or bad but he knew he would find out sooner or later so he looked back at Lilith "You ready?" Drake waited for a response before trying to lift the man's body.
Lilith - September 3, 2004 02:10 AM (GMT)
A tear crept down Lilith's soft, white skin. "Yes." She helped Drake drag the body out of the stables and onto the grass to which they would saddle one of the horses and place him on the back. "Can you ride out and bury him yourself? I have to tend to the horses. Take Miranda with you." She walked off. Her emotions were so tattered that she didn't know what end of the horse she was tending. Her tears blurred her vision as she stroked the horse. She filled his eating barrel up then cast create water to fill his bucket. "Drink well my friend for you have a journey in front of you." She saddled the horse and walked him out to Drake. "Here is the horse you can use."
