Title: Entering Imythess
Adramis - August 16, 2004 05:03 AM (GMT)
The day was like any other; waters of the falls cascading down, the sound of the water deafening. The crystal blue water seemed to shimmer in the mid-day sun. Suddenly, in the midst of the falls at a water-slick rock, a small tear seemed to form in midair. Light streamed from it, opening up into a perfect circle of pure light. Out stepped two figures, almost identical in appearance, both clothed in shimmering white robes.
"Adramis. We've arrived." the female shook her long hair out, spray from the waterfall arcing away from her. Her silver eyes shimmered with happiness. "Tee hee. Look at the beautiful lake! And these waterfalls!" She turned around, robes seeming to float around her, as she looked up. "There was nothing like this at home!"
The other figure smiled at her. "You are correct, we have arrived sister. It is indeed beautiful." He pulled back his hair, slightly shorter than hers. "But I sense nothing here like waht we were tracking. we missed them again. We must continue."
She pulled her lip up, making a sad face at him. "But Addy! It's so pretty! It won't hurt to rest here a bit!" But he just looked at her, and she sighed, then held her hands out in midair. "Fine. i'll start the portal spell." She spoke clearly, words sounding like brittle ice cracking. But nothing happened. She opened her silver eyes wide. "Brother! It's not working!"
He also put out his hands and spoke the same phrase. His golden eyes clouded. "You're correct. It appears our magic doesn't work here Aenell... we are stuck." He sighed and put his arms back down. "We were getting so close to catching up..."
She grabbed his arm and giggled. "Come on Grumpy! We can go to the shore of the lake at least!" She pulled him out from behind the falls, and they walked along the narrow edge towards the shore of the lake, chatting happily.
Bahamut - August 16, 2004 05:07 AM (GMT)
Bahamut was in eidolon form at the moment. He looks like a strange dragon to most, but he wasn't happy at this declaration. He comes out of the trees to the lake. He starts to drink from it, not 50 feet from the two elves.
Adramis - August 16, 2004 05:16 AM (GMT)
Adramis and Aenell both noticed the dragon at the same time. but their reactions were a bit different. Adramis drew back, mind instantly flying to spells he knew. Then he sighed deeply, hands falling back to his sides again. "Our spells are gone... let's just hope it's peaceful..."
Aenell giggled. "Of course silly. Why would it hurt us?" She pulled on Adramis' arm, dragging him up to the dragon. She looked up at it, confused. "That's funny. IT looks different from the dragons on our world Adry. Why?"
He looked at it closely, then smiled. "Oh, it's not a dragon. It's an eidolon Aenell." He patted her head affectionately, then bowed, pushing her down with him. "Hello Sir Eidolon. I am Adramis, and this is my sister, Aenell. It is nice to meet you at this lake. But may I ask what the name of this world is?"
Bahamut - August 16, 2004 05:19 AM (GMT)
He looks at him, then the girl, then back at the boy."Twins, there's a new sight. How do you know that I'm an eidolon? Or even know about eidolons?"
Adramis - August 16, 2004 05:27 AM (GMT)
Aenell giggled. "That's because he always has his nose in a book! Or several books!" She poked her brothers nose fondly, then giggled again, dancing out of his reach before he could retaliate.
He just sighed and brushed his hair out of his face with one hand. "Also, an eidolon visited our world several years ago. I noted some of the differences between eidlons and dragosn then. He then disappeared, and we haven't seen him since. And I do not always have my nose in a book." This last part he said to his sister, who was walking around the eidolon looking at it.
"Do so Adry!" She giggled and came around the head of the eidolon, making sure to keep her feet out of the lake's edges.
"Do not. I spend more time trying to get you out of trouble than I do reading." He grinned at her.
"Well... um..." She fidgeted looking down and letting her hair fall in front of her face.
"And making sure you don't steal the heart of all the young boys in the city."
She flushed brightly, pulling her hands back inside her sleeves and intently studying the ground.
"And-"
"I get it Adry!" She looked up, still flushed, and walked up besdies her brother. He palyfully squeezed her hand, then yelped when she poked him in the ribs. She then turned back to the eidolon. "So what's your name Mr. Eidolon?"
Bahamut - August 16, 2004 05:29 AM (GMT)
"Actually, that was me, I'm the only dragon eidolon. I remember that, that was just after I escaped."I'm Bahamut, and I'm now the God of Fire in this world, Imythess."
Adramis - August 16, 2004 05:36 AM (GMT)
Aenell's silver eyes widened and she bowed. "Y-your highness! Or majesty... or..." She turned to Adramis, eyes confused. "What do you call a god Adry?"
"Whatever they want you to. otherwise they burn you to a crisp." He grinned at her glare, then patted her shoulder. "Ah, don't be afraid. You weren't afraid of him before, you shouldn't be now." He turned to Bahamut then, frowning slightly. "Imythess, you say? Hm. Never heard of it..."
Aenell, meanwhile, a bit embarassed about her display, had lowered her head, letting her hair cover her face in a childish gesture. She palyed with the ends of her blonde hair, watching her brother and the eidolon talk.
Bahamut - August 16, 2004 05:37 AM (GMT)
"I really don't care what you call me, I'm not formal. Imythess was abandoned by the old gods, so us gods and godesses, except for Laoura, are replacements."
Adramis - August 16, 2004 05:45 AM (GMT)
"That would explain why I've never heard of it then..." Adramis thought for a second, golden eyes staring off dully. His robes were still wet from the waterfall, and he cast a small warmth spell by instinct. However, once again he felt the magic slip out of his grasp, unobtainable. His brow furrowed and he shivered slightly, but not from the cold. "This world is quite a bit different from our own, that I can already tell..."
Aenell came up slowly behind her brother. "Yeah. It just''' feels different. But it's so pretty too..." She leaned against her brothers side, eyes going to the lake. The rays from the settign sun caught her silver eyes and blonde hair, making them seem to be brighter. Her robe was still bright white, though slightly wet. "What are we gonna do now Adry? No way we can catch up to them if our portal spells won't work."
Bahamut - August 16, 2004 05:48 AM (GMT)
Adramis - August 16, 2004 05:56 AM (GMT)
Adramis thought for a second before answering. "Well, as you cna probably see, on our own world we are both Wizards of the White Robes. Basically, that means we use divine and light magic. However, our spells don't work here, including our portal spells. So we're stuck."
Aenell broke in here. "But we need our spells to follow our people! Our land was destroyed, and we fled to the portals, but my brother and I were left behind as a safegaurd! But everyone else was set off track, so we lost them at the meet-up point. We've been following them since." she hung her head forward again, looking almost ready to cry.
Adramis put an arm around her shoulder, shispering to her before continuing. "We've been following traces of their magic for almost a year now. However, we got a wrong trace and wound up here... lucky us." he shook his head. "It is probably a nice world... but it came at a bad time. But I had been thinking of stopping eventually..." his sister looked up, eyes wide as he said this. "It was pointless to continue. They had many mages casting portals; we are only two. This world is a nice a palce to stop and live as any..." His eyes met his twin's, and they held each others gaze for a moment before looking away.
Bahamut - August 16, 2004 05:58 AM (GMT)
"Well, if you need a place to stay, come to my temple in Therab, the volcano."
Adramis - August 16, 2004 02:18 PM (GMT)
"We will survive." Adramis looked at the eidolon, smiling slightly. "We have been on many worlds in these last two years. Not many have been friendly to elves. As long as we stay together, we can live here in peace."
Aenell grinned. "And also, where' the place with the cutest boys?" She giggled, ignoring Adramis' glare. "After all, that's where the most fun in Imythess has to be!" She giggled and threw her arms around Adramis, who tried to look stern but couldn't
"Just hope no one she like is in your temple when we visit Bahamut... she'll turn the place upside down." Adramis laughed openly as she blushed and hid her face behind his shoulder. "Kidding sis."
Bahamut - August 16, 2004 07:47 PM (GMT)
"Well, I can't fit in my temple as an eidolon, so I have an elf form to."He changes to elf form.(luckily I get to continue any current topics im in)
Adramis - August 16, 2004 08:55 PM (GMT)
Adramis looked at his elf form in interest. "That's neat... I wish I could morph freely, but alas, most elfs lack the ability." He poked his sister behind him, making her jump away from hsi shoulder. His golden eyes gleamed mischeviously. "Hey sis, don't hide your pretty self back there."
Aenell - August 16, 2004 09:03 PM (GMT)
Aenell flushed and glared at her brother. "You bother me sometime Adry." She turned to the eidolon, but didn't see him. Instead there was a normal looking elf. She giggled and leaped forward, poking him. "Hey! that's a cool trick fire guy!" She realized what she just did was rathger rude and became even redder, then scooted back to stand next to her brother. "Oh sorry Mister..."
Bahamut - August 16, 2004 09:20 PM (GMT)
Adramis - August 16, 2004 09:29 PM (GMT)
Adramis chuckled. "Sis... watch your manners..." He stopped laughing, but still smiling broadly. He then turned to Bahamut. "I was wondering... where is the best place for us to stay here? We will need a place to rest tonight... our magic to come here drained us." He stretched, robes flowing around him. "We'll be pretty sleepy for a while..."
Bahamut - August 16, 2004 09:32 PM (GMT)
"Cascadia is pretty close."
Aenell - August 16, 2004 09:33 PM (GMT)
Aenell giggled, her shyness forgotten. "Maybe you will Adry, but not me! I like cities... plenty of places to go, things to do, boys to tease..." She grinned as her borther groaned, then turned to the laughing god. "Mr. Fire guy, where can we find a nice, busy olde city for me and Adry? All we need is a inn for sleepyheads there and plenty of cute guys for me." She fell back against her brother, giggling.
Bahamut - August 16, 2004 09:35 PM (GMT)
Adramis - August 16, 2004 09:38 PM (GMT)
Adramis shook his head at her anctics, then grabbed her hand. "I dunno sis. I might not let you out of sight for all the trouble you'll cause. we don't want boys singing at our inn window again, do we?" He laughed as she blushed flaming red. "Oh you know I'm only joking. But their voices waere really bad... you have to admit." he turned to the god and nodded. "Thank you Bahamut. We'll start on our way mmediately. The sooner we get there, the sooner I can lock her in the room.." He ignored her yelped protest at this and the poke to his ribs. "Maybe our paths will cross again one day." He nodded to his sister, and they bowed to the god in perfect harmony, then walked off together, bantering happily.
Bahamut - August 16, 2004 09:40 PM (GMT)
He nods, then uses Polymorph to turn into an eagle and fly off
