Somehow the ruins and rubbled piles were found comforting to Tamris. She walked over small shards of the stained glass, and the crackling and scuffling echoed. Tamris wasn't alarmed or concerned that there may be others here. She smiled. It was a cool day and outside was foggy, hazy, whatever it was called. She ran a hand through her loose hair and walked to the end of the room, then up the stairs. It was a cathedral she knew, and she was going up to the tallest spire. Tamris had no doubt that it was all rotted away, but she didn't seem to care. The elf felt confident that she would escape death as always.

She found the rope to the belltower and put her hand on it. The ancient thing crumbled at her touch and she found herself holding a piece of the rope. A raven cawed and landed on the window sill above her. Tamris noticed, with concern, that the raven wasn't black. It was blood red. She had seen these things before. Rarely, and they were always a sign of bad luck. It cawed again and preened then took off. She followed it until they came out into the cathedral major again. The rotting pews were overlooked, but she stopped and saw where the raven landed. On the alter.

Tamris walked up to the alter, it had been long since desecrated and she didn't know what religion it belonged to. The assassin looked at where the raven pranced. On the alter someone had recently engraved a picture of a blood red raven. The paint was still fresh, she ran a finger over it. Not more than a month, maybe two. The eyes glowed, Tamris then noticed, a strange redish white. And the raven's reflected it. An evil aura radiated from the alter suddenly. The half-elf took a hasty step back and slipped on a large flat rock on the steps. Tamris hit her head and the world became groggy. "What in blazes..."

Master Ace - August 10, 2004 09:07 PM (GMT)
Master Ace walked towards the Cathedral slowly. Draco was Roaming around behind him. Draco liked to explore, but prefered to stay in towns and explore minds with his powers. Ace's blue tail swayed form side to side and his blue wings moved back and foward as he walked to the broken down catherdral. "Watch out for broken glass," Master Ace warned as they came near the Cathedral. It was then that they heard a strange cawing and a large thud. Master Ace looked throught the door way and saw Tamris lying down on the ground before a large altar. Master Ace didn't notice the the red raven until after he had rushed to her side. Draco rushed in after Ace and wondered why the raven was red. Ace quickly shifted his attention from the raven back to Tamris. "Are you alright?" he asked as he looked down at her.

The Windshadow - August 10, 2004 09:31 PM (GMT)
Tamris opened her eyes and saw nothing but a blurry mess before her. She took a second to reorientate herself and then noticed someone standing above her. "Yes, fine... Did you see that bird? I could have sworn..." she sat up and got dizzy again. Damn, the assassin thought. She must have hit her head harder than she suspected. She managed to force herself up to the alter again, ignoring the grogginess. "The eyes..." she said somewhat aloofly. "They were glowing and there was an evil presence here..." she shook her head and ran a finger again over the carvings then looked to see what she had tripped on. The large flat disk wasn't a rock at all. Tamris picked it up and turned it over in her palm. The disk was devoid of anything, just a smooth piece of slate as she had first suspected. But it was warm. That was strange. Tamris looked back at the other person. "Who are you?"

Master Ace - August 10, 2004 09:58 PM (GMT)
Draco had tooken the liberty of probing her thoughts. The raven had seemingly vanished as he concentrated on her mind. After looking over her surface thougths Draco tried to look in deeper to her mind. He hoped find out about the red raven from her memories. Master Ace was glad to see that she was okay. "I too saw the raven you speak of. I only took a glimpse at it as I was tring to make sure you were okay. I think it's eyes may have been glowing. I am Ace," Master Ace said trying to answer all of her questions. He looked her over with his sapphire eyes. She seemed to be an elf but not a forest elf. He combed his hand through his bule messy hair and looked at the oject that she held in her hand. He then looked to Draco and noticed Draco was in deep concentration. He gave Draco a soft swipe with his tail and calmly said, "What did I tell you about goining into the minds of other?" Draco exited her mind as he ws hit. Draco replied weakly in draconic, "but.... but.." "I'm sorry if he messed with your mind. This is Draco, my familiar," Master ace explained.

The Windshadow - August 10, 2004 10:12 PM (GMT)
Tamris blinked and gazed at him levelly. Her jaw tightened and her eyes turned hard and even blacker. She was aware of someone probing, but her mental defenses were strong enough. Tamris turned her eyes to the dragon. She pushed it out of her mind easily enough. But it was equally as strange; the auras never told her that it was here.

"There's something else in here Ace," she said in a low voice, turning the disk over with her hand. Auras rarely lied and the natural energy never did. Tamris looked down at the raven carving. Any other day she would have been quick to dismiss such nonsense, but Tamris was alarmed by the wierdness of the sudden turn of events. "I'm going to find out what it is," She dropped the disk on the alter with a thud and a crack as it broke apart. Tamris frowned but then her elven senses picked up something else. She fingered broken half of the disk and just as suddenly light poured from the raven's outline. Tamris looked at it and hopped back, off the dais. Just in case, more of an afterthought than an instinct, she also loosened her sword.

((...))

Elvanshae - August 10, 2004 10:18 PM (GMT)
The last thing Elvanshae had expected to see what her cousin walking amongst the ruins of a cathedral. She wasn't surprised at any rate, Tamris seemed disorientated and preoccupied at the moment. Elvanshae was a full elf, unlike Tamris, and could easily distinguish illusions from reality.

Elvanshae stood in the shadows with her robes silent. She watched, curious at what her cousin was up to, and then saw ((or thought she saw... I can't tell if you're hallucinating from that dragon or what, Tam)) light pouring from the alter.

So she's done it again, Elvanshae thought as she watched. It was a wonder Tamris wasn't reminded by all this of her last night in Evereska.

((okay just to clarify, Elvan is Tam's cousin and since I ran into you by chance I suppose i'll just come in and rp as a freak occurance... since this thread seems to be full of that to begin with. What say you Tam? Lol Or else I'll kindly swing from the belltower and begone))

Master Ace - August 10, 2004 10:35 PM (GMT)
(I'm okay with you being here.) "Now that you mention it I do sense the precense of dark energy," Master Ace replied. Ace could sense energy and magic. His powers were currently less refined than Tamris'. He could feel the the energy, but it was somewaht faint. Ace watched the light begin to pour from the raven's outline. He quickkly grippped Reya with his tail and hoped that ther would be little more than a light show. He knew that this ofcurse would not be the case. Draco backed away prepare to cast a spell.

The Windshadow - August 11, 2004 02:51 AM (GMT)
((Elvansh--??!))

Tamris frowned. It was wrong. All of it was. She drew Sorelen to judge. If this magic was elemental, the scimitar would flare. If it were demonic then the scimitar wouldn't react. She felt the energy lines contract behind her and noticed the psuedodragon getting ready to cast a spell.

She looked down at shards of glass and rock that shook now. Sorelen was calm. Then, with all her might Tamris slashed down violently at the alter. "The power is demonic, from another plain," she explained as Sorelen clanged against the stone. A wry smile appeared on her face as the shaking grew. She knew what was coming... the raven was not a raven, thus it was red and not black. Or so she thought. An earthquake it seemed, but the very foundation of the building rumbled. Tamris wondered if it would hold up. "What now," she managed to mutter to herself...

Master Ace - August 11, 2004 02:59 PM (GMT)
(In any case she broke the bell tower so you can't swing on anything :D . Looks like your stuck with us.)
He saw Tamris slash violently at the alter. He saw the Scimitar flare up just before she warned of demon for another plane. "What luck we have Draco!" Master Ace thought to himself sarcasticly. Knowing that demons were chaotic, Ace reached for Justice, his blade of order, as he felt the earth begining to shake. "Do you think this old place can hold it self upright with all of this?" Master Ace asked as the foundation of the building rumbled. His blue-scaled tail twitched as he waited for the light show to end. Draco casted haste on himself and began to prepare another spell.

The Windshadow - September 9, 2004 12:49 AM (GMT)
Tamris looked about. "Probably not," she said in insane glee. "This place seems to be corrupted anyway, better that it fall I suppose..." she paused for a split second. "But it would make a nice home for Demisthenes,"

Suddenly the assassin threw back her head and howled in laughter, one that erupted from some hidden well inside her. There was nothing to laugh about and she felt like laughing and going insane; her whole body shook with the laughter, moreso than any earthquake could. She gre somber looked around as the ground suddenly gave way before them and a huge black creature rose from it. Tamris blinked and drew Quicksilver too; laughing. "Ah, here is our demon," she raised an eyebrow. "What now? I'm guessing it's going to kill us... oh well. Wanna help me kill it?" Without waiting for a reply from Ace Tamris threw herself into the melee and hammered away at the creature with both of her blades.

Master Ace - September 27, 2004 02:36 AM (GMT)
Master Ace listend to Tamris' loud laughter. She seemed alomsot insane, yet the prescence of the demon gave Ace little tim to dwell on the thought. Master Ace laughed at her question that need no reply. He casted a quicked blink and appeared behind the demon. "Oh, No. I think I've always wanted to fall at the hands of a demon!" Ace said with weel more than a hint of sarcasm as spun around and his tail swung reya at the demon with incredible speed and force. The Celestial fire cause by a cut from this dagger would be enough to occupy the demon's thoughts if it didn't kill it.

Draco morphed into his humaniod form. He still seemed to be casting a spell as his crystal blue eyes watched Tamris and Ace assult the demon.
