Title: Searching For The Swarm...
Description: My Brothers Killers.
Azuren - July 20, 2004 04:20 PM (GMT)
Azuren walked into the bandit camp, showing no fear to anyone around him. He arrived at a large decorated tent. There were two guards guarding the entrence. Hmmm, This must be the leaders quarters. The drow walked up to the entrence, when he got to the flap the two guards put their weapons in his way. Halt, You may not pass! Let me pass, SCUM! The two guards pointed their weapons at his chest...We said, YOU MAY NOT PASS! If I were you I would let me pass, SCUM! The guards made the first move swinging their weapons, one from the side, while the other comming down...It was Azurens turn, he tumbled out of their reach. He drew his bow and let a ice arrow fly...It struck one of the guards in the heart. With a little help from Percise Shot. The guard screamed as he fell to the ground and died...The other guard noticing his fallen comrad, reached for a summoning horn...Before he got his hands around it Azuren shot two more arrows...The first hitting his arm, while the second bounced off his armor. Now the guard realizing he had no chance started to run...Azuren shot a final arrow into the guards throat. I can't believe my brother trusted your thieving kind...Azuren started looking around to make sure nobody heard the commotion. The drow headed into the tent now. He stepped in and noticed a black cloaked figure in the back. Taking notice to everything that was in the tent he started walking back...How did you get in here? The man said. Easily! Next time find stronger guards! What did you do to them drow? What do you think, Had tea? Hahaha, I killed them! The man started to become really scared. So where are the rest of your guards at? On...On an arrend. Well good this will make things easier...Azuren brought forth his Fire Elemental. WATCH THE DOOR! He put his bow away and pulled out his Shadow Dagger.
Wha...What are you going to do to me? I'm still thinking about that...Depends on how good of information you give me. Information? Yes information, SCUM! What kind of information? First of all don't speak unless I tell you to. Secondly I'm the one who asks the questions! Then Azuren began to smile. Hmm, Where should I start? How about...Where is the Swarm? I don't know. Not a good enough answer. Azuren brings the dagger to the bandits throat. Just then the bandit brings forth his unseen weapons, a pair of Fire Scimitars. Pushing back the dagger and jabbing at Azuren. The drow tumbles backwards falling on his back. The bandit leaps on top of him and gets ready for the kill...I sent my guards out purposly when i saw you enter Azuren! WORTHLESS DROW! You remind me so much of your brother. Hahaha...Now I get to finish off the little brother too! Azuren went into a deep rage then. How couldn't I have not notice it was you...He got one leg in front of the bandit and kicked him back into a table. Azuren jumped up. The drow started making his way towards the bandit...YOU WILL PAY FOR KILLING MY BROTHER, JUST LIKE THE REST OF YOUR GANG! Azuren was about to cut the bandits throat when he was startled. Up near the front bandits were pouring into the tent. Hahaha, We will meet again Azuren...That day will come soon. Before Azuren could reply the bandit ran out the other side of the tent, leaving Azuren and his Elemental to fight fifteen bandits...Gulp, Azuren knew he was in for a fight now...
Veronna Darkblade - July 21, 2004 12:59 AM (GMT)
Veronna had been riding one of her Nightmare's through the forest when she heard commotion in the Bandits camp. "Lest alu inbal natha lor" she told her Nightmare, it began forward at a trot and then they were there after a couple meters. Veronna dismounted and walked towards the camp, she saw someone go in a tent when she came out of the bushes. She drew her sword and walked towards the tent slowly, and before she reached it a bandit ran out and Veronna moved fast enough that she hid in the shadows and he didn't see her. "Brorn vel'bolen aluin pholor ghil" She said to herself. She finally reached the tent and she looked in; there was a fire elemental and a Drow standing in there, along with around fifteen bandits. The drow she had met once before but she didn't really talk to him.
She then backed away from the entrance and went around to the back to see if there was another way in. When she was in back there wasn't a door. She let out a sigh and she began to cut at the tent, making her own door. When there was a whole big enough she went in and then she attacked one of the bandits in the tent. She cut his throat and she but her hand over his mouth so no one would hear him scream or make noise. She wished that it was dark in there, and she scanned the room and saw a few candles burning in the corner of the tent. She smiled to herself and she pulled out her dagger. She aimed at the candle stand and threw it. The dagger hit the stand and it fell, the candles burning out when they hit the ground. Veronna's eyes began the focus to the dark, since she had been in the light. She moved around the tent, hearing and seeing the bandits move around helplessly, not able to see. She moved to the back of one and she thrusted her sword into his back and this time she didn't cover his mouth, he let out a sort of scream and she heard the bandits starting to get scared. She move to another one and cut his throat. She killed a couple more and then she went to guard the door so no one would be able leave. She was wondering if Azuren would be able to kill them all.
Azuren - July 21, 2004 07:42 AM (GMT)
When the lights went out Azuren stood completly still watchin the bandits around him...The bandits began fighting their own alies. Hahaha this should be easier then I thought. A bandit stabbed blindly in the dark...It struck Azuren in the side. As he fell to the ground his Elemental moved to him, making sure no harm came to his master. All the bandits noticing the Elemental moved in a circle around him and Azuren. There was only seven bandits left now. Azuren was beginning to stand up...He got to his feet and stood back to back with the Elemental. This is for my brother! The drow charged forward cutting a bindit accross the mis section. He laughed as the bandits intrails fell out. Now the Elemental came running forward. It grabbed ahold of two bandits and set them aflame. The bandits started screaming, then made their way for the exit. The remaining four bandits jumped upon Azuren pinning him down. Don't move or he gets it! The Elemental looked at the bandits...He then went back to his home plane. The bandits then became temporarly blinded. Azuren realizing his chance stabbed one of them and ran thowards the entrence...Where the drow he had seen a while back happened to be standing...
Sargoth - July 21, 2004 09:55 AM (GMT)
Sargoth ignored most of the commotion coming from the bandit's camp as he stalked his prey from the wooded perimeter of the forest opening. He had noticed a larger tent suddenly fall to darkness near the center of the huddle of tents, but it was only out of the corner of his eye. His attention was dedicated to a single man in tattered armor jogging back to his home.
Half an hour earlier, Sargoth had been resting in a secluded part of the forest for a few hours. Kilrur, his companion spider, was crawling around under the order to watch for intruders. Out of nowhere, a man obviously in the thieving profession stumbled from nearby bushes and looked around, apparently on scouting duty. Kilrur immediately took notice and crawled up to the man's foot, trying to get a good bite to subdue him. The bandit noticed the red spider almost immediately and shook him away; he then tried to smash him. Sargoth was able to revive himself from his statue form and scare the bandit off before Kilrur was killed, but the spider still suffered grievous injuries. Sargoth was on a war path for revenge: he would not stand to see his friend hurt by a scoundrel.
Sargoth tracked the man back to his camp and wound up watching him jog back to others of his kind. Looking around, he noticed that the bandits had decimated the forest nearest their home base, and that only enraged Sargoth more.
He had been standing in the treeline and following the man with his eyes, but he was also conjuring up a spell. As the culprit bandit found his way near the newly dark tent, Sargoth unleashed the spell he was weaving. Within moments, a thick arc of lightning crashed down from the sky and nearly vaporized the man, leaving little left but a pile of smoking entrails. The bolt was deep in the heart of the encampment, and the energy of the strike set the nearby tents on fire. The dark tent relight slightly as a small corner caught and light ablaze. It burned slowly but it would not be put out easily. Sargoth really had little interest at that moment because his taste for vengeance was yet to be fulfilled. He walked forward from the trees, staff in hand, and he already began weaving the next spell for another unlucky thief.
Veronna Darkblade - July 21, 2004 04:34 PM (GMT)
Veronna smiled and shook her head. "Running from a battle? Your pathetic." She said to Azuren. She looked around the tent again; there was only a couple bandits left. "Your not much of a Drow anymore are you." She went forword and Azuren was free to go. "You can watch and learn how to do this right." She moved around the tent, her eyes following one of the bandits, and then she srtuck him with her sword and he fell. She moved around the tent to another one, but this time when she approched the bandit spun around, holding an orb of light. Veronna backed up tripping over something. She narrowed her eyes to try on see past the light, but the bandit was making it bigger and bigger. She closed her eyes because they started to hurt from the light. She took a breath and stood up, opening her eyes. The light was getting brighter but her eyes were starting to focus. She saw the bandit coming towards her, the orb of light in one hand and a short sword in the other. Veronna backed away, she looked down at the ground and saw her dagger by her feet. She smiled an evil smiled and she waited till the bandit was right near her. She dropped and rolled, grabbing the dagger as she did so, right when the bandit struck at her with his sword, which cut her leg but she ignored it and she stood up and was in back of the badit in a couple seconds. She thrusted her dagger into the back of his neck, and he fell down dead. She pulled out the dagger and the tent was dark yet again.
She walked to the entrance of the tent and as she did she noticed a flame in one of the corners near the opening. She looked around the room and saw no one in there. She cursed something under her breath and ran for the door, she was about twenty feet from it. When she was up near the entrance in was all fire. She spun around and ran for the hole she had cut in the tent. She fire was starting to spread, and gaining more speed for some reason, it was pretty slow until a second ago. She stopped running and turned and looked around the tent and saw one of the bandits laying on the floor, just barely alive, and he was using the rest of his strength to trap her in the tent and burn. Veronna was moving towards him but then deicided to get out. She dashed across the tent and went through the hole she had made. She was outside and the tent was on fire which made a light and she moved into the shadows and sat down. She let out a sigh and looked down at her leg and saw the wound. She would have bandeged it up but she didn't bother.
Sargoth - July 21, 2004 06:38 PM (GMT)
Sargoth had cleared most of the distance between the tree line and the tents before any of the occupants had noticed him coming. The first pair of eyes to land on him belonged to a larger man, around Sargoth's height. His tattered clothing and greasy hair was topped off by a crude leather eyepatch. This bandit immediately knew that Sargoth had no good intentions in the camp, so he smiled a toothless smile and drew his sword. Sargoth stared down the man who had so stupidly moved in his way.
As the two men drew closer to one another, the bandit lunged forward with his blade. Sargoth used the man's momentum to deflect the strike off to the left of him and then finished with a powerful strike to the back of the man's right leg. The bandit tumbled to the ground and dropped his sword as he grappled his leg in pain. Sargoth glared into the man's ugly face before he raised the staff above his head and sent it crashing down onto the man's throat. After a short session of gurgling, the bandit was dead.
Thick black smoke was rising from where his lightning bolt had hit, so he made his way to it. He was not done with these fiends.
Azuren - July 22, 2004 01:08 AM (GMT)
Azuren ran all the way out of the tent. Still running looking for the foot prints of the Swarm member. Where could he have gotten to? I must fid him! He will die! The other drow can take care of herself...Azuren caught onto some foot prints in the muddy area. He started into the forest making his way past the trees and bushes. He soon caught site of the man, and drawing his bow let an arrow fly hitting the bandit in the leg. The bandit fell to the ground and started screaming. Azuren started to slow...The wound was slowing him down. So he brough forth his fire elemental yet again. Go make sure he don't escape! The elemental ran forward and started circling the wounded man. Azuren caught up a couple of seconds later. Hmm, not so big now without your bandits. Huh? So now, where is the rest of the swarm? Hahaha, you think you can bring down the swarm! You will die trying, boy! Then so be it, but I will take down all I can before my death! Where is the swarm? I'll never tell you! Then die, SCUM! Azuren brought out his shadow dagger and cut the man across the stomache...Letting his intrails fall out. Hahaha! Azuren made his way back to the camp to look for Verona then...
Sargoth - July 22, 2004 06:36 PM (GMT)
Sargoth dispatched a handful of men as they futily tried to stop him. Sargoth was nothing close to an expert fighter, but judging by the clumsy attacks of the bandits, he was above par to nearly everyone there. The first man had fallen easily when Sargoth rammed his staff into his neck, the second died trying to escape from a large tangle of vines. Sargoth had needed to use the spell on him, even though it was not necessary. He had been holding the magic in his mind for too long and he either had to release it or let it fizzle inside of his brain. He chose overkill over death.
His pace had slowed down to a stroll as he moved toward the smoke. He could see that the tent was burning a lot worse now, and he was fairly happy that the fire took hold. Sargoth beat another sword wielding bandit to the ground. This time it was a little more difficult since the man was wearing armor. Finally, he made his way to the charred remains of Kilrur's attacker. With a sick sense of irony, he stepped onto the ash and smashed it into the ground. Now he was even.
Usually alert, Sargoth would be able to sense most things around him before they could be of threat. In his rage, he had walked past several shadows without even knowing if they held anyone within their grasp. He did not care at the moment, he was reveling in his victory. He had no idea what would occur next.
Azuren - July 23, 2004 01:59 PM (GMT)
Azuren arrived at the camp again...He hid in the nearest shadow looking around to see if there was anything left to kill. As he stood there a strange man walked past...Azuren drew his dagger ready to attack. But then he realized that the man was Sargoth a friend from before. Azuren walked out of the shadows heading up behind his friend. Why hello, Sargoth! Came a somewhat cheery reply from the drow. So what brings you out here? After he asked the questions Azuren put his shadow dagger away and waited for an answer...
Sargoth - July 23, 2004 07:29 PM (GMT)
"Vengeance," came a terse reply.
Sargoth was curious as to where Azuren had come from, and exactly why he walked so calmly toward him from nearly the edge of the camp. His surprise was almost embodied by a lightning bolt, but Sargoth restrained the spell before he cast it. He was not entirely happy to see Azuren, since he remembered how the drow had killed the defenseless drunk, but he did not feel like vaporizing him just yet.
Sargoth turned as a bandit charged him from behind. Sargoth side-stepped the attack and sent his staff screaming around his spinning body, causing the weapon to strike the back of the man's skull at whistling speed. The bandit crashed to the floor, dead before he hit the ground. A small puddle of blood began to form.
Azuren - July 26, 2004 06:23 AM (GMT)
Azuren looked around there was a few bandits charging at Sargoth...Azuren pulled out his bow and shot an arrow hitting a bandit in the throat...The bandit dropped dead...Azuren put his bow away and ran at another with his shadow dagger...He cut the man across the stomache letting blood flow to the ground...
Sargoth - July 26, 2004 11:11 AM (GMT)
Sargoth was watching Azuren assault the disorganized bandits when a older man, almost Sargoth's height, circled around the tent and challenged Sargoth. He too was wielding a staff; Sargoth hoped he was the more talented of the two. The battle began with little more than a grunt as a flurry of blows were exchanged back and forth. A loud clattering sound echoed even over the spreading flames as wood crashed into wood with unseen power. Sargoth could see the man's muscles tense and release with every blow; his own were doing the same. Each combatant was giving all of their effort to overpower the other. Sargoth remembered fights like this one and he did not miss them one bit. He had to remember the strategy he was taught: physical equals are seldom equal in mind, out-think and overtake.
Sargoth clashed his staff against the bandit once again, this time drawing him backward; he was becoming very aggressive. Suddenly, Sargoth began to draw his attacks back in and let the bandit take a few steps forward. The man probably thought Sargoth was tiring and it was his chance at victory. Sargoth hopped backward a little more than usual and the bandit took the bait. He took a large step forward, exposing his leg out of the protection of his staff. Sargoth jumped toward the side of the bandit with a spin and struck the back of the bandit's knee. Sargoth was fairly sure he dislocated the leg entirely. The bandit fell to the ground and Sargoth continued his assault, sending his staff across the man's back and forehead before dealing a final blow to the man's ribcage. He was still alive, but that was more luck than mercy. Sargoth was defending himself.
"So," Sargoth said to Azuren, "Taking on the world alone, are you?"
Azuren - July 26, 2004 01:00 PM (GMT)
Not all alone...My brother's with me! Azuren dodged an uppercut, then faked right and hit a bandit in the nose...The bandits nose shattered, blood was going everywhere. Azuren just smiled...All the bandits were running this way and that now...Mostly out of the camp. Scared! Hahaha...Azuren then drew his bow and shot at a bandit, who was about five feet away...The bandit dodged and had an arsenal of spells ready for the drow...Saying a few words a fireball started to appear in his hands, he pointed his fireball at Azuren and sent it heading his way...The fireball hit him head long in the chest sending him backwards...Azuren was on the ground now he was in trouble, and the bandit was advancing...
Sargoth - July 26, 2004 04:15 PM (GMT)
Sargoth had not had time to halt the first spell so his only reaction was a happiness that drow were not a particularly flammable race. Sargoth almost lept the few steps between him and the bandit mage and sent his staff screeching at the back of the man's neck. As if the bandit had telepathy he spun around in the last instant and blocked the blow with a short sword he drew from a sheath on his belt. Sargoth made sure he kept the bandit concentrated on the physical battle he was in; the last thing Sargoth needed was for him to stop and cast another spell.
The bandit fought well and almost pierced Sargoth's defenses a few times, but the staffsman won the battle. With a well placed strike, Sargoth managed to break the mage's jawbone. He could no longer speak well enough to send off the simplest of spells, though as he laid on the ground bleeding, he definately did try. Sargoth released a spell of his own and entangled the man's ankles, hands, and face. The vines held tight while the man suffocated.
Sargoth ran to Azuren and peeled off some of the charred clothing. The mage was rushed, the fireball had more physical impact than flame. Azuren was lucky, if that was an applicable term.
"Are you alright?" Sargoth questioned.
Azuren - August 1, 2004 01:40 AM (GMT)
...Ouch! Azuren finally managed to say. He got me good...Azuren started to black out...(Begin Dream) Azuren saw his brother fall to the ground beside him, black feathered arrows sticking out of his limp body. Bandits started closing in, Azuren tried to stand up to defend his older brother, but his wounded body wouldn't let him...(End Dream) Azuren awoke yelling...No...How could you...I'll kill you all!
Sargoth - August 1, 2004 04:25 PM (GMT)
"You'll be quiet unless you would like to bring the rest of the camp to our little party," Sargoth grumbled as he tried to quiet Azuren down. He was unconcious for nearly five minutes and Sargoth had a very difficult time fending off two flanking bandits by himself. They were much better trained than the previous men he had to tear through that evening.
Sargoth had weaved and cast a greater healing spell on Azuren in order to stop the bleeding. He might not have caught on fire but the spell had a lot of punch to it as well. Sargoth was actually surprised that the drow had survived.
"So, can you get up? I think most of your injuries have been taken care of, but you'll probably be pretty drowzy for some time."
Azuren - August 1, 2004 06:04 PM (GMT)
Ok...Azuren stood up...We should get out of here, before anymore bandits come. Azuren started to run, looking back to see if Sargoth was following...
Sargoth - August 1, 2004 06:13 PM (GMT)
"Do you have any more business here? Is there anyone else in the camp of importance that I should know about? If so, tell me now before we run off into the forest," Sargoth said, making sure that fleeing would not prove detrimental in the future.
Sargoth eyed the camp. A few of the tents had burned significantly from his lightning and there were several corpses on the ground. This had turned into a slaughter. He searched his pack for Kilrur and brought the injured spider out into the open. The arachnid had curled up; Sargoth roared. His friend had died while Sargoth was exacting revenge. He bent down and touched the ground with his hand, calling up small vines. He placed the corpse on top of the waving mass and the vines brought Kilrur down beneath the surface of the forest where he would rest forever. In renewed rage, Sargoth raised both of his hands into the air and sent additional magical energy to the clouds above. Within moments, half of a dozen bolts of lightning arced to the ground, smashing into several tents in the camp. Screams could be heard from almost everywhere in the camp. Smoke began to fill the sky and life began to take on an orange glow. The sound of raging flame started to creep into earshot.
Azuren - August 1, 2004 06:22 PM (GMT)
Horns were blowing all throughout the camp, from the few bandits that lived...We shall go...Before more bandits come to their aid. We can only make a stand for so long Sargoth...Far off into the forest Azuren could faintly see lit torches making their way towards them...It would be foolish for us to stay, let us go Sargoth...Part of Azuren wanted to stay, but he knew if they did both of them would die.
Sargoth - August 1, 2004 10:54 PM (GMT)
Sargoth grunted at Azuren's remark. He knew that the drow was right and it would be foolish to remain inside the cooking pot for much longer. Almost in resignation, Sargoth turned and started walking back into the forest. He assumed Azuren was following him in stride, it was his idea to leave after all. Sargoth moved away from the direction of the horns, those blowing in emergency and those responding to come as aid. He traced a line between the two sides and hoped they would not be within the bounds by the time move bandits moved to their camp.
Azuren - August 8, 2004 05:32 PM (GMT)
Azuren watched as Sargoth made his way away from the camp...Hmmm...He began to think. O, I know!I dare them to follow...Hehehe! Azuren took off at a run making his way back up to Sargoth...Looking at Sargoth he began to talk. If they follow they will all die. The drow looked like he had lost his mind.
Sargoth - August 8, 2004 09:21 PM (GMT)
Sargoth kept moving at a fast pace, but his mind was racing faster than he could possibly run. He had grown fond of Kilrur for the time that they shared a path; it was a rudimentary form of companionship that Sargoth had desperately needed in his wandering state. He knew someday there would be a seperation of paths between them, but he did not assume it would come so soon. Sargoth was aware that it was simply a spider and nothing more, in the grand scheme of things, but he was not comforted by his own logic.
With deep, shadowed eyes, he occasionally peered back toward the camp, almost like he was still at the treeline, evaluating the movements and actions within. His eyes bore an unmasked hatred; they almost seemed to glint with insanity as each additional horn was blown. He had half a mind to stand his ground and finish what he stated, but his sense of survival told him to continue on his course.
The pair, guardian and drow, continued their escape until they came across a large river.
Azuren - August 8, 2004 11:18 PM (GMT)
Azuren stared into the river...Sargoth, I am sorry you lost your companion...The drow was saddened by Kilurs death. He started to reach into his cloak...When his hand came back out he handed Sargoth a small bundle. I hope this cheers you up some...The little bundle started to make noise...I see he's awake now! Inside was a Hatchling Psudodragon.
Sargoth - August 10, 2004 03:21 PM (GMT)
Sargoth looked down at the tiny creature, he had been sleeping judging from the groggy murmurs he made. Sargoth could only smile as he looked up at Azuren and nodded his thanks. The guardian had a soft spot even though he was made of stone. He nearly forgot about the current events as he used his finger to play with the pseudo-dragon. He would tap its nose and it would let out a squeaky bark and nip at Sargoth's opal flesh.
"Thank you, Azuren. I will take good care of him. I'll have to make some space in my backpack for him, at least until he grows a little bigger and can just follow me."
As Sargoth gently tucked the bundle in his backpack, a horn blew just behind the pair of men. The bandits had found them.
Azuren - August 10, 2004 06:55 PM (GMT)
When Azuren heard the horn blow he told Sargoth to move. The drow started to transform himself into a Hellfire Dragon. This will teach them to follow! Hehehe...The bandits were getting closer, Azuren could make out the shape of people running towards them.
Sargoth - August 10, 2004 07:23 PM (GMT)
Sargoth tried to avoid becoming too distracted by the ever-growing creature appearing where Azuren used to stand. That was very powerful magic, and while Sargoth was slightly interested in watching the process, he also had a compelling urge to protect the hatchling pseudo-dragon. Sargoth trusted that the dragon behind him would take care of most any threat as he tromped across the river and set his pack down in a small alcove between a rock and a tree. There was a little groan from inside the container as Sargoth stood up again and waited to see what was going to appear from the trees. He wondered what the screams would sound like when the men appeared in front of a dragon.
Azuren - August 10, 2004 08:54 PM (GMT)
Just stand back and guard the dragon I gave you...I can handle them...The bandits started to emerge from the trees...Azuren let out a huge roar, which scared half of them. Azuren began to blow fire towards the ground, being careful not to catch the trees on fire. About five of the bandits ran towards the river, their bodys covered in flames...Azuren swung his tail at the men and they flew backwards into some of the others...
Sargoth - August 11, 2004 06:03 PM (GMT)
Sargoth watched the carnage and rampage of the fierce dragon being unleashed on the unsuspecting bandits. Even though he was happy to receive vengeance for Kilrur, this seemed like too much. It was simply overkill, the men did not stand a chance.
Sargoth was jostled out of his stare when he heard movement in the trees behind him. As he turned, a bandit screamed in rage and charged him with a spear. Sargoth had just enough time to deflect the point of the spear with his staff and punch the man directly in the face. The bandit's nose broke and blood began to flow everywhere. The man grabbed his face and stopped, so Sargoth used the oppurtunity to backhand the man and send him flying into the river. He never stood up again.
