Title: A past better forgotten..
Description: ~Bahamut or invite only
Airie - July 18, 2004 03:35 PM (GMT)
With the tiara clutched within her long, slender, pale fingers, Ciara trudged up the side of the tall waterfall known as Vistath. There was no usual smile upon her face though, it was a warm day and she missed her Home. She missed the way things had used to be, before she had been stolen away to the Other World.
Stopping as she thought of the horrible beatings and deeds taht she had done, she shuddered, closing her eyes as she winced, reliving a painful night away from the land of Imythess. She had only gone about half way up the tall fall, one hand wrapped around the tiara that had taken so much away from her. The other held firmly along the wall beside her so that she might steady herself.
I don't want to run anymore, but how am I to hide myself.. How do I hide myself from those that hunt me so hungrily, as if their lives depended on bringing me down? Shaking her head, a long breath that had been held without realizing it escaped from Ciara.
Long gray hair danced upward in the winds, a familiar feeling that she thanked the gods hadn't faded away. With her eyes still closed, she leaned back against the wall of the fall, lifting her chin so that the sun might kiss her face like it did the humans.
Bahamut - July 18, 2004 03:40 PM (GMT)
Bahamut loved art and water, but Ainariel had become Goddess of Water, so he didn't have a chance at that. But even as God of Fire he loved water. He is sitting at the top of the waterfall, enjoying the nice cool breeze and relaxing. His clothes didn't hang as limply as before, but they still did.
Airie - July 18, 2004 03:47 PM (GMT)
Tears stung her eyes, but she told herself that now was not the time to cry over things of her past. The future was to be fruitful and she would have a life worth living, even if it meant that she would hide from others..
Opening her eyes, she blinked a few times, wiping away any tears that had flowed down over her cheeks. Then she tried to pull down the long whipping gray hair, but it easily passed through her fingers, remaining free. Ciara could only giggle at this, her hair, at times, had a mind all it's own it would seem.
Sighing once more, she looked down upon the tiara, sighing yet again. But a smile played upon her face and features, lighting up her eyes. She hugged the tiara close to her as she walked barefoot up the side of the fall. Ciara almost had forgotten that she could have used simple magics to walk toward the top, but she had decided that this would be more rewarding, to walk as a mortal, just what she was.
She reached what seemed to be the top of the back of the falls, the river sounds coming up over the top and down to her. She smiled more wildly, reaching up to grip the side of the wall, pulling herself to the top of the falls, finally.
Bahamut - July 18, 2004 03:52 PM (GMT)
He sees her pull up, but doesn't turn his head."Hello Ciara."he says quietly.
Airie - July 18, 2004 04:00 PM (GMT)
Frightened by the somewhat casual voice without seeing who it was before, she almost loses her balance, falling over the side of the fall. But her large gray wings extend, cushioning her in the air. They gently move back and forth to bring her back to safety, she brings herself back to safety, almost instinctively.
Her eyes dart around until they finally find Bahamut, sitting down some ways from her now. The large teal eyes narrow as she focuses upon him, an unforgettable man, remember to her as Bahamut, God of Fire.
Something is telling her to turn away and leave this place, but she cannot. The gray wings behind her seem to tense as she takes a step toward him, then another. "Bahamut." The voice a bit sharp. Alert, I am just alert for whatever it is that he might do. The long hair had ended it's dance with the wind, falling messily down her shoulders and back, brushed out of her eyes so that she might see better.
"It has been a long time.. a long time since I last seen you in the Temple of Air." She had stuttered, her head hung low a moment as she felt herself beneath him now. Knowing that if he tried to attack her like he had before, she would have no way of stopping him. A mortal versus an immortal, she only told herself to be careful.
Bahamut - July 18, 2004 04:04 PM (GMT)
"I decided to stay away after that....But that demon is gone now, thankfully."Very thankfully, indeed.
Airie - July 18, 2004 04:10 PM (GMT)
She tried to sense whatever it was that he had been talking about, but she was lost. Emotions and fear clouding her visions. Shaking her head, she decided that she might just come out, be more forward and ask the direct questions. But she wondered if she had it in her, if she could risk angering him again.
A shy, soft elfin voice spot now. "Why did you?" She paused, taking in a long breath. "Why did you attack me like that Bahamut? You were a guest, in my home..." Her eyes were upon him, scanning and searching as they often did. Looking for an answer that wouldn't be spoken that might show her the truth.
But she failed, she only saw him now as Bahamut, God of Fire. Her eyes averted from his face now, as she strode past him. Angry, but still fearing him. Keeping a good distance between them, remembering what letting your guard down can do to oneself.
Her back was now to him as she stepped closer and closer to the edge of the falls. The roar of them falling over, was loud and overwhelming. And yet Ciara found a sort of peace in the setting that had her relaxing, the gray wings folding themselves behind her now, though she was still very much alert.
Bahamut - July 18, 2004 04:13 PM (GMT)
"I lost control. It was that demon, it took over my body. All because of Varila....but it's gone now."
Airie - July 18, 2004 04:24 PM (GMT)
Turning slowly, her eyes dull with thought, her lips loosely held together, shaking her head. "Varilla did that to you? She did that to me?" The questions came quickly, she didn't know how to slow herself down, other than to stop completely. Shaking her head, she looked back over the edge a moment before turning from it completely.
She couldnt enjoy the falls right now, there were other things on her mind. "But why would Varilla want you to hurt me?" She spoke before she could think herself to stop. Her eyes held so many more questions, confusion as she tried to link things together, but finding herself naive to the ways of other Gods.
Pouting now, she let herself walk close to him. Bahamut seemed genuine, perhaps it was the way he looked so thin in all his clothes. She tilted her head to one side, her arms crossed so that the tiara rested easily upon a pale bare shoulder.
The rippling water was calming, the roar of the falls still being heard as they were not much far back. The questions hurried themselves through her mind, making it difficult for her to think and rising a fear inside her.
Bahamut - July 18, 2004 04:31 PM (GMT)
"Long ago, when I first came to this land, she gave me an amulet, which gave me that demon, which just recently surfaced. But she destroyed it, and the demon with it."
Airie - July 18, 2004 05:24 PM (GMT)
She was shocked, whatever color that had once been in her cheeks faded. "How could she do such a thing? A Goddess no less, your equal?" A hand came to her mouth as she gasped at the thought. Were other Gods and Goddesses like this always? Was she to blind and naive to see it all before? The thoughts torn at her.
Shaking her head a bit, she paced for a bit before speaking with him again. "But why me Bahamut? Why did you attack me? Did I trigger something of the demon?" She wanted to know, she had to know why, if there was even a reason at all. "I have thought of that moment for a long long time and I can't explain how you just changed, right before me."
She remembered his eyes. She remembered how she had felt and feared him then too. Her eyes strayed to him again, looking over his slightly smaller form. He looks so thin, so hungry. She looked away again, trying not to stare, remembering that he was a God and how inappropriate it would be.
Bahamut - July 18, 2004 05:30 PM (GMT)
"I was not a god back then, just an eidolon, not even the half-elf blood I have now was in me. It just surfaced every now and then, though it was always around friends or demons....."
Airie - July 18, 2004 05:37 PM (GMT)
She was not even more confused than she had been, still keeping her distance from him as he sat and she stood, pacing from time to time. Perhaps I am just not meant to understand this world.. Not meant to understand the happenings around me. Growing discouraged, she turned from him again, walking back out to the edge to look over Cascadia. It was beautiful from where she stood, but most of this land was. The color, the warmth, the love and emotion that was everywhere, it was wonderful in her eyes.
There is hate too, but not as much as in the Other World. Jerking back at this thought, she envisioned another lashing, wincing, she covered her face with an arm, but quickly realized that nothing was there.
Feeling foolish, she sighed heavily, frowning now as she looked out over Cascadia. She remembered the view from her balcony, how it was so high up in the mountains that she could see the lands before her. It was almost heavenly, thinking back on it now. How could I let myself be stolen away? So easily? So quickly?
The questions pestered her mind and remembering that she wasn't alone, she tilted her head back to be kissed by the sun again. The warmth of it's rays was soothing, just as the sounds of the water flowing over the edge was calming. "I am glad that you are well Bahamut, or better than you were. But you do not look well." She stopped, not turning her head to look to him, enjoying the sun upon her pale smooth skin. "Is there something else that is the matter? You look awfully thin, much thinner than I remember you as."
Bahamut - July 18, 2004 05:48 PM (GMT)
"No, it's nothing anyone can help me with. I'm getting better though."He looks at her, dully.
Airie - July 18, 2004 05:55 PM (GMT)
Nodding, she leaned back upon her palms, sitting at the edge of the falls, her legs draped over the side. She was growing more comfortable as the time past, though she was sure she would never fully trust him.
An odd thought, not trusting someone. Those vile creatures of the Other World had none of my trust. I would never trust them or any of their kind. Disgusting and horrible creatures. The thoughts only seemed to anger her. The teal in her eyes brightening as she continued to vent to herself about how she was treated and how horrid she thought their entire race was.
Grumbling with her eyebrows furrowed, she rolled her neck, remembering she had come here to relax herself, to forget of the past which was better if left as just that. The past.
With her eyes closed now, she pictured the large Temple where she once walked freely. Smiled and greeted guests and aimless travelers. A delighted smile spread over her face. "Tell me Bahamut, what are you doing out here? At the falls? Or is this just a coincidence that I have met you again here?" She began to kick her legs slowly with the rhythm of the pounding waters below.
Bahamut - July 18, 2004 05:58 PM (GMT)
"I love water and nature. This is one place I haven't been, so decided to visit it."
Airie - July 18, 2004 06:04 PM (GMT)
She couldn't help herself this time when she laughed out loud. It wasn't that odd really, but she hadn't pegged the God of Fire to be a nature or water lover. Turning her body so that she might face him, she smiled at him now. "You? Love the water and nature? I hadn't thought that you would dear God of Fire."
She snickered again, hoping that she wouldn't hurt his feelings at all. "The flame, when I think of it, always seemed so much more harsh. Harmful to the other elements around it. Even to my own..." She paused again, thinking of her words. "I mean, of course, the element I used to watch over."
Her cheeks blushed a few shades of pink as her sharp teal eyes feel from him yet again. Shaking her head, she tried to think of Bahamut frolicking through a meadow, causing herself to laugh a moment. Covering her mouth, she did her best to hide the laughter from him, though she failed miserable, though looked rather delighted with the image.
Bahamut - July 18, 2004 07:47 PM (GMT)
It's the way of eidolons. We come from the natural elements."
Airie - July 18, 2004 10:33 PM (GMT)
She stopped, realizing she knew very little of Bahamut or his kind. She wasn't really sure what she thought him to be, having never really asked. "What else can you tell me about Eidolons?" She was watching him more intently now, eager to learn all that she could about this new race of sorts. Slipping into her more curious nature, one that she had always easily gotten lost in.
Curling up, her knees brought to her chest, her bare toes poked out from beneath the hem of her long white silken dress. It was one of the first things she had bought with her pay from the tavern. Working there was rather exciting, though she would have never imagined that things would be slow at times.
Still, she watched him, waiting for a response.
Bahamut - July 18, 2004 11:49 PM (GMT)
"Well, there was at least one for each element, we were all trapped in gems near our births, and humans with horns summoned us at will to fight for them, and we always had to obey."
Airie - July 19, 2004 01:56 AM (GMT)
Rubbing her hands up and down her arms, she found herself feeling a bit chilly dispite the warm sun. "Fight for them? Like in wars?" It sounded like a cruel punishment to be trapped away in a gem, waiting to be called upon only to throw yourself into a battle. What if he was treated poorly? Or hurt? Would the human's know enough to take him out of battle? How much did he risk for these humans.
It was horrible to think about and though she wanted to change the subject, she wanted to know more. A true Fire Elemental, or what was used before our Elementals. She looked a bit concerned, thinking about it now, if she were to ever call an air Elemental, would she use him just like it seemed to her that these humans with horns used Bahamut?
Bahamut - July 19, 2004 03:44 AM (GMT)
"Yes. I had no choice. I had to obey their every order, and stay out until I was called back."
Airie - July 22, 2004 02:53 AM (GMT)
She frowned once again, her gray wings quivering a bit as she took a long breath in and then heavily sighed it back out. The winds around her seemed to stir as she thought more and more of the horrible past he must have endured. There was little she could tell of him now, though she believed him to be a good man, a great God as he was rumored before she had left... before I had been taken...
She was a bit uncomfortable, the words didn't come to her to speak, she only sat there, in front of him listening to the steady roar of the falls. She remembered them to be something like the Memphian Falls, where she had returned to the land once again. Looking away from him, she watched the water as it rushed past them, leaning toward the edge of the bank to get a better look.
Bahamut - July 28, 2004 07:45 PM (GMT)
"That's where I got my mistrust of humans."
Airie - July 30, 2004 02:09 PM (GMT)
Raising a brow, she was curious to ask "And of a dryad or elf? Do you mistrust them as well?" Her eyes slowly turned their way back to him, waiting for any sort of reaction.
Bahamut - July 31, 2004 02:32 PM (GMT)
"No, they didn't live in Gaia."
Airie - August 9, 2004 02:00 PM (GMT)
She had to keep herself from snorting while she laughed at the absurd comment that he made. "What do you mean they did not reside in Gaia? Dryad are everywhere, within all trees." She gave him an odd look now, debating if his company was always this interesting and comical. "You must be mistake." She shook her head giggling again at the silliness of the comment.
Bahamut - August 9, 2004 08:44 PM (GMT)
"Well, pretty much the only forest in Gaia was the Evil Forest, and that got petrified."
Airie - August 11, 2004 02:02 PM (GMT)
"Petrified? Really? Wow, that must have been a sight. I can only imagine an entire forest petrified." A few moments went by, her eyes seemed averted as she thought of the many possibilities for the cause. Then thinking of all the dryads and elves that might have been lost. "It is so sad.." Ciara said this while shaking her head at Bahamut. "How did it happen? It sounds so horrible." She frowned now, looking as if she was almost pouting.
Bahamut - August 11, 2004 09:24 PM (GMT)
"They had to do it to save my summoner. But someone was petrified inside, one of their friends.....but the forest was unpetrified later."
