Title: The First Time
Varila - July 17, 2004 01:55 AM (GMT)
Varila walked lightly into the Temple of Swords, trying to remember the last time she had even seen the other goddess anywhere. In fact, she couldn't recall ever setting foot in this temple before. She was unsure why she had come here, but it made her feel uneasy when the deities fell out of communication so easily. The gods and goddesses of Imythess were supposed to be a united whole, and Laoura was still on her high horse, never coming out of her temple. Gods and goddesses were being removed as if that were the "head goddess'" new goal.
She leaned casually against the wall and waited for Veronna, wishing that she would come at least. Lately, the only people who had come to her temple were strangers, and it would feel good to see a familiar face, and the one who she shared the responsibility of Talas with.

Veronna was walking down the stairs to her private chamber when she sensed someone in her Temple. She drew her dagger and moved seilently through the corridors until she came to a corner and looked around it and saw someone standing there, and relized it was Varila. She stood up straight and sheathed her dagger and walked around the corner.
"Hello Varila" she said. "It has been awhile." It had been awhile since she last saw her, but she had other things going on.

"True," she replied a little wistfully, "it has been a while. I suppose that you have heard from the other gods and goddesses as much as I have. No one seems to see a cause to call a meeting anymore, or a purpose for us. Have you heard from any of them lately?" She was angry with Laoura, angry that she could talk guiltlessly about an Imythess that was striving to make its ruling body a whole, while she called herself the head goddess and tried to make herself appear more important. Of all the arrogant people she had met, Laoura was the worst, aside from maybe one or two other people. Her eyes were focused on Veronna, and they were rather expressionless, showing very little. So many of her own experiences showed that you could not reveal yourself through facial expressions.

Veronna let out a small laugh. "I have not heard or seen any of the other Gods or Goddesses lately, I have not even met our new Goddess of Magic." She told her. "No one vists my Temple anymore, everyone that lives here at Imythess seem to be a mage. I use to get tired of everyone coming into my wanting to fight when all I wanted to do was talk or something, but now I wouldn't mind a battle with one of the new comers, but it feels as though my temple has been thrown into the corner." She looked down and realized that the last person to come to her temple was Ocardonydd.
Varila - July 17, 2004 02:27 AM (GMT)
"I've never been one for sparring," she said. "Otherwise, I would offer a match. It is true that many people seem to be mages now. Few come to my temple either, aside from another pixie. Haven't you met Jeff La Clowd, the strange male fairy?" She had been irritated by the fact that he had laid on the courteous words so thickly that she had been feeling overly respected by the time he was done with the flourishes and mincing of words. "He is the latest visitor, but he has a few qualities that made him rather irritating. So nobody else has come to see you since I last saw you? Nobody at all?" It seemed so dismal that so few people came to respect their deities these days. They only showed interest in their own goals, and not a one of them had ever come to her temple, aside from the aggravating pixie.

Veronna smiled weakly and said, "Well, I have seen Athyik, but that was awhile ago, and lets see..." She trailed off, then snapped back to reality. "And I have also seen Ocardonydd Nydalath." She told her, hoping she didn't put any different tone in her voice when she said the name, though it felt as if she did...
She didn't want Varila to know that she liked Ocardonydd, she thought that Varila would make fun of her or something like it. She let out a sigh, she wanted to see Ocar but she couldn't just leave Varila here, she would have to wait.
(Sorry that it's so short...)
