Title: Antipode

Master Ace - July 12, 2004 01:59 PM (GMT)
It was about mid-day when Master Ace came and it had just started raining. He looked around the academy and found the indoor arena. He was here to learn how to use his new weapon, Antipode. He had two weapons which of which only five had been made. He was getting pretty good with the blade of order for learning on his own. He had know Idea where to start with the sword of fire and ice, Antipode. He knew that he needed traing to use it properly. The odds were against him ever finding out how to use it on his own.

Master Ace despised the useless beings who called themselves in charge of this place. "These lazy bums are stupid classless morons with no sense of time. This place is more or less a dump. Where are the teachers? This place has little to no organization at all. I've been out here for half an hour and still no one is here," Master Ace thought to himself as he wiggled his tail. He had been casting a few cantrips to pass the time, but was now getting bored. He ran his fingers down the fine egdes of Antipode. He had learnd how to use the magic tied to the weapon, but that was the easy part.

Kore Takamura - August 4, 2004 03:10 PM (GMT)
((ooc: sorry I didn't notice this sooner))*Kore wandered the halls as he figured he visit the indoor arena. His cloak was on, but the hood was pulled down and his hand lay upon Kilgorin, his sword of chaos at all times. He hasn't been fully accustomed to all the facilities here, so he looked with a little awe, but tried to not show it. As he enetered the place, he noticed Master Ace in the arena.--Isn't he my magister?--* Mister Ace? What brings you here? *his eyes then drifted to the dual bladed sword and a smile came across his face.* Antipode? I knew of this weapon...just never thought I'd see it in a lifetime. So what seems to be the problem?

Master Ace - September 5, 2004 03:29 PM (GMT)
(sorry I didn't post sooner)
Ace was almost entirely surprised to see Kore as he parted his blue hair which hung over his face. He knew Kore was a talented fighter, but he had never imagined him as a weapon master. Ace had always imagined weapon masters as foolish feeble creatures who knew nothing of magic. Kore had an interest even if it was focused on one paticuar type. Ace's anger whith the academy of arms mometntarily dissolved away. "What brings me here, indeed! My father never got around to teaching me how to use his weapon. I was wondering if I could find some one to teach me here. Would you happen to be that person," Ace replied.

Kore Takamura - September 22, 2004 02:30 PM (GMT)
((Kore's going to have one arm in this one..even though he started with two mmkay?))

*He looked at the weapon and still was amazed for the history held behind it was intriguing. He knew how to wield a double bladed sword, so Ace was in luck* I think I would happen to be the one to be able to teach you. It only seems fair because you pushed me in the right direction in the other academy. Toss it over here so I can re-familiarize myself with it's properties. *He tilted his neck to one side, the bones cracking loudly. Grunting softly he waited for the weapon so he could begin the lesson.*

Master Ace - September 22, 2004 04:54 PM (GMT)
"Speaking of the other academy, I was wondering why you haven't been around in some time. It is a shame that we had to cancel the trip to the marsh due to a lack of stu-" After looking Kore over, he noticed he was missing an arm. Ace remembered seening him without an arm when they helping out Seele. Ace's eyes enlarged Ace tried to put the fact the Kore's arm wass missing with Kore's words. "How can you teach me how to use this weapon with only one arm? It is hard enough to carry in one arm. To acctually use it with one arm would be a near impossible feat and what's more I have no idea how I would learn of it," Ace said still shocked by Kore's words. A solution quickly drifted into Ace's mind. He didn't know how long it would last or how well, but it would suffice for training with the weapon. "I can do something about the arm if you wish Kore. Then we can get along with training."

Kore Takamura - September 24, 2004 02:50 PM (GMT)
Something to my arm? What can possibly be done to this? Besides, how will I ever learn to become the greatest swordsman in the world if something as small as one less hand to use can stop my path.*He looked at Ace with cold eyes, knowing everyone and their mother's doubted that he could accomplish what he set out to do.* I have been training slowly with one hand, one arm, one goal--Antipode is no exception to what I must overcome. Think of this as a lesson for the both of us, for I can teach you how to wield this weapon, and this weapon can teach me how to compensate. Please Ace, toss me the sword and we will begin our training.

Master Ace - September 29, 2004 03:30 AM (GMT)
(The weapon isn't famous such that Kore would know about it or it's name.)
Master Ace's eyes twitched slighly. He was now quite irritated with Kore. He would expect this foolishness from a weapons master, but not from Kore. Ace's ice blue eyes soon mached Kore's cold glare. He had watched his father use this blade as a child and it was definately not something that one could do with ine hand. Kore's insitance was arrogant and would be fruitless even if Ace were to comply. There were things physicaly impossible and things that were simply improbable, yet possible. This feat he wished to try was phydsically immpossible. "Quit being silly. Either you know not how to use this properly or your arrogance has clouded your mind," Master Ace said coldly. " With one hand you can never be the greatest swordsman, but I can make you a hand you a hand to make it possible once again," Ace offered.

Kore Takamura - September 30, 2004 04:16 PM (GMT)
*When Ace doubted his mental drive to overcome any problem, Kore only laughed only to vent his anger.* Ace you have no idea how much I want my arm back, but that doesn't mean that I can't work without it. Call it arrogance, call it whatever you want, I will not be hindered by any handicap. I am also very dissappointed that you think I will not accomplish my goal of becoming the greatest Swordsman. I thank you for your consideration, but I must decline your offer to help me.* He eyed his own sword and smirked* If you believe so strongly I cannot be the greatest, why don't you test your sword against mine? I would like to see how you can fare in combat without the magic you so readily rely upon.*Kore unsheathed Kilgorin, his sword which has accompanied him through many battles. He looked at Ace and pointed his sword at him.* Do you accept my challenge?

Master Ace - October 1, 2004 02:57 AM (GMT)
Master Ace was not pleased to hear Kore's words. A challenge was not by any means what he had come here for. Ace didn't not wish to accept but he had stragne want to accept his challenge. " I am by no means, one to be a fair challenge to one so close to being Imytess' best swordsman, but if you insist I suppose I could attempt to entertain you. Without my magic I am little a threat. Hold a minute while I get my self ready," Master Ace replied. He whispered a few arcane words and seemed to be concentrating on a spell. His hair, eyes, and scales slowly changed from blue to purple and finaly from pruple to black. Ace's palms released a faint purple glow as the spell was finally finished. The glow quickly faded away. Ace laid his weapons aside and gripped Reya with his tail. He then turned back to Kore.

Kore Takamura - October 1, 2004 06:26 PM (GMT)
*Kore was pleased that Ace admitted his weakness. Kore also knew of his own weaknesses, but always kept them hidden so far back in his mind that he has more than forgotten about it. When Ace said he would fight without the use of his magic, Kore grew angry as he smelled a fair hint of it in the air.* Ace...you disappoint me. If you must insist on using magic, then all is fair game. I warn you though, any damages done by you to this arena will be repaired by yourself if not paid for.

*Kore smirked as he reached inside himself and withdrew his own energy. Intricate symbols appeared under his feet and slowly fed him power. This power didn't get absorbed into him, but it stayed around him in an aura. He moved his wrist about, twirling the sword. After a few moments he stopped and smirked at Ace.* Come and let me prove you I will become the greatest.

Master Ace - October 1, 2004 07:22 PM (GMT)
Ace rolled his eye at Kore'ss last sentence. Did he understand any of the words that came out of his mouth. "Once again I shall say that I will go on without magic and once again I must say that my defeat in such a duel would nowhere be near proving you are the greatest swordsman, no matter how spectecal you make my defeat." Master Ace's words were slightly cold. "If you must know the spell I casted was a simple cantrip not an enchantment that would aid me. I merely casted it, becuase I would otherwise be moving slow and I would not be preforming at my best with out the aid of magical spells. If you must know the spell was inflict minor wounds. Now disspell your unholy aura and let's get this show on the road. the sooner it's over the better," Master Ace explained as he flippped his dagger into the air and caught it with his tail.

Kore Takamura - October 28, 2004 02:21 AM (GMT)
*He frowned playfully and shoved his sword into the floor. When the sword stuck up in the ground, Kore held his finger up, waving it mockingly.* If you cannot fight a one armed man without the aid of magic, you're not worth my time. But I'm suprised at you though, Ace...I thought you would have more respect for the rules of the academy I teach in the same as I do yours...how disappointing.*he grabbed the sword from the floor and sheathed it fluidly.* Come see me again when you're less dependant on "incantations". I bid you good day. *he sighed quickly and made his way to his private quarters in the dorm. *

--I thought more of you Ace....but I guess you too will not take me seriously--
