Title: Solitude
Description: A journey into the volcano.
Master Ace - July 9, 2004 02:41 AM (GMT)
Master Ace had several reasons he was here. He wanted the next field trip to be in the volcano, he needed to collect some corpses, and he wanted time alone to work with his special powers. Once again he travled without his oversized robe, as it be a burden as he travelled deeper into the volcano. His hair, eyes, and scales were all ruby red. The heat the volcano was strong, but he knew as he went on the pain would begin to fade. It was not long before he found himself being ambushed by goblins. They were coming at him from all sides. They poured from crack in the walss and other sneaky holes they had made. Master Ace sent a small flaming missile at one of the charging forces of goblins. One caught on fire and then the fire quick spread as the foolish creatures stupidly danced around in stupid circles. "I'll have to leave the flesh on some of them and I'll have to do something else' because I can't get them all before they get to me," he thought as he turned to face the next wave of goblins.
Kore Takamura - July 18, 2004 12:48 PM (GMT)
*wandering around the mountain range, he was thinking back to some of his past, a past that slowly came back to him. Now he could remember names and many of the scars that were across his body. It was interesting though....that the more he knew of himself, the less he wanted to remember, but there wasn't much that he could do to stop the puzle pieces from coming back together. As he made his way to the top of the volcano, he heard the oh so familiar sound of magic and trouble, each which usually go hand in hand. He peered down and saw his teacher being ambushed by a massive amount of goblins. The center was hot, but he had to help.
*he put his hand towards the sky and pointed up. He muttered a few words, then smiled. The clouds above him began to form together and darken the sky. Anyone could hear the crackling of sparks as his spell was ready. He then looked down and pointed to a group of 10 goblins that rushed down the volcano side. The sky lit up as the lighning came crashing down to where he pointed. This attack found its home in the body of 4 of the 10 goblins, frying them instantaneously. He then called out to Master* Mister Ace?! Are you in need of assistance?
Master Ace - July 20, 2004 02:08 PM (GMT)
Master Ace had saw the bolt strike a load of the goblins and heard a familiar voice which he immediately recognized as Kore's. Many of the goblins were now retreating, but there was still a flank that kept going. There were about 20 goblins in the fearless flank. "Thanks for the helping hand, although I'm trying not to keep burn the flesh off of all them. Come join the fray," Master Ace laughed as he pulled out Justice, his Blade of Order, with both hands and Reya, his dagger of celstial fire, with his tail. "What brings you to Threab, anyways?" Master Ace asked casually as he waited for the goblins to come in closer.
Kore Takamura - July 20, 2004 03:34 PM (GMT)
Seeing that his help was welcomed, Kore chuckled and drew Kilgorin, his Blade of Chaos. He hopped down into the fray, riding on the edge of the mountain. When he reached the spot in the volcano that Master Ace was occupying, Kore began to heat up. Instinctively he threw off his cloak, which drifted into the lava below. He looked over at Mister Ace's sword and smirked.* Me, I just like the view up at the top. *the goblin flank was coming in on the both of them, but Kore remained calm and ready for the attack. Looking over at Ace, he raised an eyebrow* Blade of Order? Heh, how funny--I have the Blade of Chaos. I say we give em hell, then make them do our bidding....like slaves.*Kore's eye widened as he thought of this idea. His eyes then closed in on the group of Goblins, waiting for their strike.*
Master Ace - July 22, 2004 03:46 PM (GMT)
"I was hoping to keep it as a surprise but Oh well. Now he now's they'll be animating goblins at the marsh. Looks like they'll have more skeletons than zombies," Master Ace thought to himself. "Here they come," Master Ace said as the goblins came within attacking range. Master Ace's skill with the blade of order could easily be seen as limited, but he did well to makeup for it with his skill with Reya. With the time that it took him to peirce his blade through one of the goblins, he had already slashed the throats of three others with his speedy tail. "Let's see who can kill the most," he said as he dodged a blow from one of the goblins. He knew he might not be able to best Kore in physical fighting, but surely the competiton would please Kore.
Kore Takamura - July 23, 2004 04:10 AM (GMT)
I accept your challeng teach, and be ready for me to give you a run for your money.*--hmmm....these circumstances seem interesting. Time for a good exorcise.--As he spoke, he whistled loudly, and his wisp came out of his pocket. He looked at it and nodded. The wisp knew the routine as it started to multiply, making several illusions that were replicas of himself. Standing there, with several other copies of himself, he held his sword out, which was mimicked by the copies.
He thought to the skies out of the volcano, past the clouds, to utilize his light spell. His sword tip was glowing bright. Then with a grunt, the light flashed foreward, blinding five unlucky goblins. The five that were stunned were unable to notice the coming of a handfull of demon claws coming at them. Only one poor bastard got hit in the face with the claws--which were the actual Kore, hanging limp on the blades.* Thanks Entem, now for you Penalia, do your magic.
*She flew out quickly from inside other pocket, then flurried around the other four goblins. Armed with notihing but its annoyance, it managed to drive a swatting goblin off the ledge into the fiery pits below.
While the other goblins saw this happen, they became confused, but focused on Kore. The three made 3 different attacks on him one after the other. The first one met his bear claw in the chest as it jumped in the air for a horizontal slash. Goblin number 2 came with a stab, while the 3rd one attacked low with his sword. Kore parried the stab with his already drawn sword, then cracked its neck with a boot to the head.
The other attack however manages to slice his calf, enough to draw blood. This attack enrages Kore, and he hit the goblin with the hilt of his blade. Kore's eyes crackling with energy, he grabbed the woozy goblin with his bare hands and raised him/her/it above his head high.* Now you fry! *with that said, the clouds that remained from his previous lightning attack came back together, to send a powerful blast of lighning screaming straight towards Kore's hands. Hitting its target, the poor goblin fried and sizzled with electricity. With a smile on his face and blood dripping a dark black instead of red, he tossed his barbequed victim into the volcano.* Heh...teach, I got 5, how about you.....watch out behind you!!
((ooc: heh, guess that last line gives you something to post about ^_^))
Master Ace - August 3, 2004 01:30 PM (GMT)
The Goblin behind Ace attacked him with his it's dagger. The dagger went into Ace's shoulder. Master Ace howled in pain and quickly span around. He took a deep breath and incenerated the goblin's face with with a cone of firey breath. Master Ace looked behind him and slashed three more goblin throats. The remaining goblins were now running in fear they didn't want to get incenerated like their friend. Master Ace looked to his shoulder and dislodged the dagger. He put his hand over the wound and muttered a few arcane words. The wound slowly began to close up.
Kore Takamura - August 7, 2004 06:30 AM (GMT)
*looking at the fleeing goblins in disgust, he charged after them.* Get back here! I'm not enduring this blistering heat just for you to run away! You will all die at eiter his or my hands!*His sword held behind him, his other hand was behind him as well, charging another bolt of lightning. He roared loudly, the lightning striking in front of the group, scaring them frozen.
Kore, now upon the group, stuck his blade into the goblins back. With a bloodcurdling cry, the other goblins got the guts up and began to converge on Kore. One of the goblins, appearing to be the leader, stuck his sword in the goblin as well, going straight through it, into Kore's abdomen.* YYYEEARGGHH!!*--how could I have been so stupid....pain....unbearable....need sleep.*Kore blacked out, his sword still in his hand as he tumbled off the side of the volcano into the molten lava((ooc:I swears to hades Master Ace that you better be able to save him...or I will change the post((just wanted some flare to the topic ya know? ))
Master Ace - August 8, 2004 12:26 AM (GMT)
(Luckly I've got a spell for evrything.) Master Ace looked up as he heard the bolt of lightning and kore yell out to the goblins as he charged them. Master Ace was catsing haste on himself as he saw a goblin peirce Kore with it's Long sword. "The price of being a Show off," Master Ace thought as he rushed to Kore's Aid. Smoke flowed out of Ace's ran towards the goblins. They fled and as they did so, Master Ace casted a spell. A raging fire burst in to life benath their feet. The flames lept out over ten feet in the air and continued to burn vigoously as Ace returned his attention to Kore. Kore had now fallen of the edge and was quickly approaching the lava. Master ace casted a quickened slow time and slowed the world around him. He then teleported over Kore and gripped him with his tail. Master ace was having diffuclty carring Kore's weight. Master Ace concerntrated on his next spell. Just before Kore came to close to the deadly inferno of fire, Master Ace used blink to teloport them back onto the path. The flames form Master Ace's fire storm had now died down and revealed blackened bones. Ace laid Kore on the ground and slowly removed the sword in his abdomen. He knelt down and casted heal. He would have casted Greater heal but the heat of the volcano was messing with his spells. The wound slowly began to heal. After recasting it two times, The wound was fully healed.
Kore Takamura - August 16, 2004 02:29 PM (GMT)
*Kore never knew who saved him from that free fall into the fiery pits of the volcano, but he was grateful someone did. He sensed magic in the air as he regained conciousness in that pit of hellfire. He thought it maybe to be that goddess who saved him in Talas, but the smell of the white magic was not of hers, but that of one with mixed blood.
That along with the blistering heat woke him up. His eyes snapped open as he looked around, then automatically went to where the goblin stabbed him, not feeling anything. Looking up at his teacher, he shrugged and smiled weakly* Heh, did you get all of them?
Master Ace - August 17, 2004 09:22 PM (GMT)
Ace helped Kore to his feet. "They asked for it and ofcourse they got it. Luckly I had time to save you as well," he chuckled. He knew Kore understood where his priorities were. "I doubt some one would come to Therab to suffer from the heat juast to get a view up top or even nearly kill themselves fighting goblins. Is there something more to your vist to Therab?" Master ace asked as he walked to the charred bones and placed them inside his backpack.
Kore Takamura - August 20, 2004 02:40 AM (GMT)
*he chuckled* I seemed to have been more of a burden then a help. If I caused you any trouble, I apologize.* He followed Ace, shoulder to shoulder, picking up the blackened skeletons as the walked through the passage.
When Ace asked him why he was there, he had no clue* To tell you the truth, I've never been here before and I wanted to see the place for myself. It just so happened that you were there, so I figured I drop in. *He picked up one blackened goblin skull, smiling.* You know these charred skeletons will be able to stealth better in the dark...do you mind if I take a few for personal use?
Master Ace - August 21, 2004 10:44 PM (GMT)
"Sure, You can have some. I won't be able to make use of all of them," Ace replied with a smile. They picked up the bones, but couln't carry all of them. They had to leave some. Ace had a few unburnt goblin corpses slung across his shoulder. "Well, I think I'm done here. Let's get you out of here before you cook yourself. If you want to see more I'll teach you a spell to protect you from the heat later on," Ace smiled as he started to leave. He didn't expect to collect this many dead bodies, but it was nice to have a little extra.
Kore Takamura - August 22, 2004 12:24 AM (GMT)
*As he held on to as many of the dead as he could, he saw all the remaining as they littered the floor. The lining of his boots had only a thin layer left, but he was going to get all these dead out of here for use somehow. He handed the dead he collected and put them on the floor.* Mr. Ace, why don't we just have these creatures get out of here on their own? Just follow my lead *Kore held both hands in front of him, his eyes beginning to darken.* Druca uv oui fru ryja vymmah jeldas du uin fnydr crymm neca vnus ouin kmuuso knyja. Huf, so tayt, neca yht vummuf oui'na sycdan! *His hands then glowed with a black aura. He then placed his hands on the floor and the power concentrated on his hands sparked out and travelled to all of the dead goblins that littered the floor. One by one, they rose and gathered by Kore. With a smirk, he looked at Master Ace.* Isn't this a lot easier than carrying them? So seheuhc, mayja drec jumlyhu yht kydran yd dra pyca uv dra suihdyeh!*he spoke aloud. The zombies/skeletons stopped for a moment, then hurried out of the volcano and made their way to the meeting point.* Lets go pick them up at the base of the mountain...I'll sever their connection with this world when we don't need them, so we can use it for later use.
