Title: Lonely Wanderer

Ranewen - July 3, 2004 06:18 PM (GMT)
Ranewen was walking slowly through the Haunted Marsh, carefully looking around at her surroundings. She had her hand near her flame wand, just in case anything went wrong and she needed it. Just to be safe, she muttered a few words and used her spell, Summon Nature’s Ally. She had called upon a wolf, which came to her side. It was white with icy blue eyes.

“Well, I’m glad you’re here beside me. I feel much safer. Now, just follow me and attack no one unless I tell you to. Keep your senses open, and smell for the scent of another.”

The wolf seemed to understand what she had said and nodded its head, putting its head in the air every once in a while and sniffing. Ranewen smiled at the slight comfort and looked around once more, making sure as to not be found by any of the spiders or their webs. She rubbed the side of her arm and shuddered a bit, wondering why she had come there. She shrugged and sighed lightly.

Raku - July 3, 2004 06:35 PM (GMT)
He awoke after a short rest. He thought he saw something off in the distance. He then saw something else. Wonder what that is?

He felt that it would do no harm so he started off toward where he had seen the thing. When he got there he found nothing. It most be further down, it must have been walking fast....

He then found a small path and started down it. After a while he saw something off in the distance again. I must have caught up. He then went off the path a little, and followed the figure. He almost hit his head on a low spider web. Stupid bugs.

He then saw the faint image of a girl. Well....whats is she doing out here all by her..... He then saw, what appeared to be a dog next to her. Guess she is not alone. He then stepped on a small twig and knew it had made enough noise for the dog to her it. Oh...this isn't good.

Ranewen - July 3, 2004 06:42 PM (GMT)
The wolf’s ear twitched and it turned its head to look back. It made some sort of whimpering noise to catch Ranewen’s attention. Ranewen looked down at her fellow canine ally and then looked back as well. She, however, didn’t hear the twig snap and looked around.

“What is it?” she asked the wolf, even though she knew she would get no answer. She rubbed her arm and then squinted, trying to see through the darkness. She didn’t see the Flayer. “Well, tell me if you hear anything else,” she admitted and turned back around, her arm resting on the wolf’s back.

She kept on walking, her gaze mostly resting on the path after the occasional looking around in case of a spider web that might catch her. I need to get that Entangle spell… Then I’d have no worries unless I go to the North, she thought, a hint of sarcasm in it. Ranewen then glanced back once more, just to make sure that they weren’t being followed. The wolf kept its ears up, trying to catch the faintest of sounds that might be made by this stranger.

Raku - July 3, 2004 06:51 PM (GMT)
Too close. He got back on the path and continued to follow them. I wonder where she is going? He then managed to get a little closer to them. He was now about fourty feet away. he had to be careful, the dog might here him walking. He gathered some energy, just incase he might be discovered.

If the dog alearts her to my presence, he dies. He started to quicken his pace just a little. Though now he was making a little bit more noise than before, so he would slow down after a short distance every now and then

Ranewen - July 3, 2004 07:00 PM (GMT)
The wolf continues its whimpering, looking into the eyes of Ranewen. She shook her head and thought, It must be the spiders… “If it the spiders?” she finally asked after a long pause, looking at the white wolf.

The wolf shook its head back and forth as if it were shaking a bug off of its coat. “No, eh? What is it?” she seemed to ask herself and shrugged. She let her wings come back out to be seen, after using ‘Polymorph’. She sighed lightly and looked around, but not looking back.

She felt as though she was being followed, but she ignored the fact. She kept glancing at the wolf, whose ears kept on twitching every once in a while, after hearing a sound from behind him. “Well, I am going to send you back now, okay?” she stated and then muttered a few words, causing the wolf to disappear and go back to where she had summoned it from. She felt lonely, but if it was needed, she would summon the wolf or the bear of something of the sort to her aid. A smile swept across her face at the thought and she nodded her head. That’s what I’ll do… she told herself in her mind and laughed silently.

Raku - July 3, 2004 07:10 PM (GMT)
When he saw the wolf disappear, he knew this was the perfect time to strike. He walked slowly up behind her, though he was still about ten feet away. He looked at her wings and wondered what she was exactly.

He slowly twirled his wand around preparing to cast a spell on her, but then thought about it for a second. Instead he put his wand away and grabbed her from behind. He tried to squeeze as tight as he could around her wings.

Ranewen - July 3, 2004 07:24 PM (GMT)
Ranewen shrieked and looked at the Flayer, which made her shriek even louder. “Put me down!” she yelled as if she were a five-year-old who didn’t want to be picked up by his aunt that gave too high of tugs.

She began to kick with her legs, anger glowing in her eyes. She then smirked and decided it was the perfect time to use polymorph. “Let go of me or I will hurt you!” she commanded, anger in her voice, as well as in her actions.

She had her wand in her hand, ready to cast the spell. She began to get drowsy since he was holding her so tight, so she automatically muttered a few words, causing her to turn into a small ant to slip away from him. Before long, she had turned herself into a medium-sized, white dragon. She turned her head to look at the Flayer. She was only slightly larger than him at the time. “What do you want?” she hissed, showing her teeth slightly.

Raku - July 3, 2004 07:43 PM (GMT)
He saw her transform, but wasn't that worried. "I want nothing. All you need to know is that I am evil, I do what I want, when I want." He gave an evil stare. "And right now I want to eat your brains."

He then empowered his spell. "Well we can do this the easy way or the hard way."

Ranewen - July 3, 2004 08:04 PM (GMT)
“Do you honestly think I am going to let you eat my brains?” she asked, a smirk on her face. “I mean, I can easily overpower you if I tried, but I’ll make it even.”

She transformed herself back into her normal form and then summoned a dire bear to come to her aid. She then glared up at the Flayer. “I won’t let you eat my brains. Do you honestly think I want to die?”

She growled at him and then folded her wings around her as a shield, although part of her right wing was missing at the top, due to the clippings. “Hold your ground,” she commanded to the large bear and then glared at the Flayer once more. “Are you going to leave now, or must we fight?” she asked, not really wanting to fight. She honestly hated hurting people, which was why she decided to stay neutral the whole time.

Raku - July 3, 2004 09:27 PM (GMT)
He looked at the bear. He then turned to her and said "I shall eat his brains as well." He then began to focus his energy. He aimed his wand at the bear. "Well can you risk letting your little friend die?"

He then waited for her next move hoping that she would try and do something stupid. "Well if you want I can just kill him and not you, but then you would seem pretty evil. Little girls like you aren't evil now are they?"

Ranewen - July 3, 2004 09:53 PM (GMT)
She growled and whispered to the bear, “Go get him…” The bear nodded and charged at the Flayer, in hopes of hitting him. She watched the bear and glared at the Flayer. “I will not let you eat anyone’s brains. If you leave now, I will stop his attack. He is heavier than you, I believe, so he can kill you with ease. You don’t want that, now, do you?” she asked, smirking.

You’re so stupid for going into this forest… You’ll be lucky to come out a live; if you do come out… she told herself. She growled and then aimed her flame wand at him. “I will use a spell if I must. And I don’t wish to kill anyone right now. But I will if I must and I see that I must.” She narrowed her eyes and looked directly at him.

Raku - July 3, 2004 10:00 PM (GMT)
"Alright I shall leave for now." He said quickly. He turned away from her then glanced back to see if she would call the bear off. That foolish little girl, I could have killed the bear let her hit me, then I would be almost dead. Then again I could heal myself, but then I would have to leave anyway....She wins this time no matter what, even if she lets me live.

Ranewen - July 3, 2004 10:21 PM (GMT)
“Down…” she told the bear and called him back to her. “You’d better leave. Next time, I won’t let you live,” she threatened and placed her wand back at her side. She slowly turned, telling the bear to listen out in case he decided to turn around and attack them.

That’s the number one thing you should never do… Turn your back on your enemies, she thought with a hint of amusement and glanced back for a moment, making sure he wasn’t going to turn around and attack her from behind. That could easily prove fatal.

Zorgn - July 3, 2004 10:26 PM (GMT)
Zorgn was hovering above the woods, he had wanted too see if there were enough bodys to take to Talas for the party in a few days. Zorgn watched the strange thing leave. Soaring down towards a little clearing a litle ways away from the girl. He spoke to her from a distance, "What the hell was that thing?" He thought he might want to find the thing and ask what it was doing in the woods. It probably was a bad idea, but it might be worth a try.

Raku - July 3, 2004 10:36 PM (GMT)
He had thought aboutreleasing his spell on her, but decided just to leave her alone. He walked down the path a bit more, the last thing he heard was someone say something to the girl.

Well seems that no one around hear travels alone. He continued down the path, though with a new found hunger. He had not eat in days. He laid down under a tree. He had lost all hope of eating ever again. Then a thought hit him. Hmm....maybe the girl had food, though she would not give it to him. He decided just to stay there and wait for something to come by.

He waited for a few minutes, which felt like a decade. I could eat a spider brain right about now.

Ranewen - July 3, 2004 10:38 PM (GMT)
Ranewen’s gaze shot towards where Zorgn was and looked behind her. “That? That was a Flayer… The only one that I know of that exists.” She nodded her head and leaned her hand on the bear and used ‘Polymorph’ once more to push her wings back out. She crossed her arms afterwards, her wings folding over them as she told the creature to leave.

“What do you want?” she finally asked, wondering if he was looking for something in particular. Her black hair went over her face for a few moments as the wind blew lightly. She sighed slightly, waiting for an answer. Damned hair… I should cut it, but I won’t… she thought to herself and then looked back at the Vampire.

Raku - July 4, 2004 12:00 AM (GMT)
Raku had grown tired off this place and decided to leave. Though still hungry, he continued his search as he walked. He soon came to a very large and old tree. The tree was covered in spider webs.

Finally, there has to be some food around here. He saw a shadow on the path just ahead. Well...well looks like I have found some food. The figure turned towards him. Raku heard a some sort of grunting sound. He wondered what it could be. Though he did not think about it too much because it charged at him. When it came closer to him he relized it was a wild boar.

I thought it would be something smart. He still had some energy left from when he had prepared his spell earlyer. He fired a magic missle at the boar. The boar groaned as it fell to the ground from the blast. Then Raku started ripping the skin off it's head. He then found a large rock next to the tree and pounded on the boar's skull with it. The skull cracked, then a small portion of the skull fell off.

He then devoured the boars brain and rested. What a nice meal.

Zorgn - July 4, 2004 04:29 PM (GMT)
Things rose out of the woods. Illusions created by his wisp had drove him crazy for the last day or so. Giants and other things came and went. Finding the wisp was very hard, Zorgn eventually gave up and asked for help. "Can you help me find and kill that thing? He's driving me crazy."

(Sorry for the short post, I screwed up badly in my earlier one)

Ranewen - July 5, 2004 04:53 PM (GMT)
“Which thing? Your wisp or the Mind Flayer?” she asked, standing still. She brought out her summoning staff and placed it in front of her, yet still inside of her wing barrier. She watched him carefully, making sure he wouldn’t do anything stupid to make her mad.

Raku - July 5, 2004 06:37 PM (GMT)
He awoke after taking a rest. Well...I ate.....I rested. I feel better now, time to pay that little girl a visit. He got up off the ground and started back down the long path, which he had already traveled. He pulled out his Ice wand and started to focus some energy on his way to the girl. No one makes a fool of me, no makes a fool of a flayer.

He came to where he had first seen the girl. Well looks like I still have a while to go. He continued down the path, he looked around a bit as he had nothing else to do. He saw where he had almost hit his head on a spider web. I still hate bugs... He saw two people up ahead, though he really only saw their body heat. Well...well, we were not smart enough to leave were we? He stayed back for a while and continued to channel his energy.
