Title: Bloody Crystals
Zin - July 2, 2004 09:32 PM (GMT)
Zin dropped down to the floor of the cave, eyes wide, after backing into a rather sharp crystal, while trying to look over the cave fully, but she still hadn't quite managed to see all of the cave. She clutched her side, looking at the perfect crystal thorn, the clear crystal now stained with blood. She stared at it in horror, then looked at her hand. "..." She looked at the crystal again, then at her hands, eyes wide.
Her jaw dropped open, and she let out a small whimper, still staring at her hands, and gave a shrill whimper.
Ranewen - July 2, 2004 11:33 PM (GMT)
Ranewen had been attracted by the crystals in the cave, which caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. She slowly wandered in, looking around. She had heard someone whimper from somewhere in the cave. When she saw Zin she felt horrible. “A-Are you okay?” she asked and jogged in the cave, making sure not to back into any walls.
Zin - July 3, 2004 12:10 AM (GMT)
Zin was still transfixed by the blood on the spire, and gave a hollow laugh, absolutely stunned at the fact she had failed to notice the crystal. "...No..." Her voice cracked, not due to any real sensation of pain, but due to shock, and she shook her head a bit. "N-Not really...." She pressed her hand on the cut, and forced a laugh. "I'm terribly hard to kill off."
She smirked, or tried to, as a grimace twisted her face as she tried to smile. "Heh. I just can't seem to hear sharp things sneaking up behind me..." She forced another laugh, her ears twitching slightly, and looked at the gash.
It wasn't that bad, though it had decided it was, and was still bleeding. Her blood skipped merrily out of the cut, despite her numerous efforts to keep it from doing so.
She was, in fact, on the verge of trying to curse it back in, using the power of her sailor's vocabulary to spook it into doing what she wished. She knew that, however, would not work, and bit back a foul stream of curses, seeing that it might not be the best idea to scream that much, as it might make the blood flow out faster, especially with her luck.
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 12:32 AM (GMT)
She smiled weakly. “Well, you’re lucky you weren’t running backwards…” she acknowledged and smirked. “It would’ve gone right through you. And that, my friend, would’ve probably been your end. Well, not necessarily… But, it could be. By the way,” she extended her right arm, “I’m Ranewen.” She nodded her head and looked around the cave, wishing she had the light spell and the healing spell at that moment. “As soon as I can remember the words, I can heal your wound.”
Zin - July 3, 2004 12:45 AM (GMT)
Zin nodded. "You're right about that." She let out a small laugh, and shook Ranewen's hand, grinning weakly. "The name's Zin, and not bleeding sounds like a wonderful idea."
"...So you're a mage?" Zin looked at Ranewen with a thoughtful look, then grinned. "What kind of spells do you specilize in? Healing? Elemental?" She grinned wider, a strange, obsessive look coming into her eye. "Fire?"
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 12:51 AM (GMT)
“Yes. I am a mage. I carry the flame wand with me now. And I specialize in mostly elemental magic,” she said with a slight nod. “I can summon any being that walks the Earth, such as a bear and I, myself, can turn into anything I wish. Until I remember the words, I will show you what I can do.” She muttered a few words and soon enough, she turned herself into a small dragon. “You see? I can polymorph into anything I want to.”
She kept thinking as she spoke, trying to remember the words for the Healing spell. How could it just… slip away like that? God, I have such bad luck… She sighed to herself.
((I bought the spell at the moment, but it’s not in my inventory yet. That’s why I ish stalling.))
Zin - July 3, 2004 01:02 AM (GMT)
Zin stared in fascination. "I've been planning on getting fire spells." She grinned wider. "Fireball in particular...That's a polymorph spell, right?" She raised an eyebrow. "I never thought about those ones. Never thought past the whole fireball thing actually." She laughed again.
((Going to buy stuff...when I get some decent gold.))
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 01:08 AM (GMT)
Ranewen smiled. “Polymorph is a spell itself. It means that I can transform into any being I want. I can change my physical features, too, I believe. Hell, I could make myself look like Laoura if I wanted! I couldn’t be her, but I could look like her. And I definitely won’t have the same strength. But, if you’d like, I could help you on your way back to wherever it is you need to go. Because, I can see perfectly right now.” She nodded her head and looked at her through her dragon-like eyes.
((Aha, I see. ^_^))
Zin - July 3, 2004 01:23 AM (GMT)
Zin shrugged. "I wasn't really headed anywhere. I was just...looking around." Her grin turned sheepish. "I was trying to see all the crystal when I backed into that-" She gave the bloody spike of crystal a dirty look, "Bloody crystal, no pun intended."
She scowled. "I really need to learn a few spells, having a spellbook doesn't help me much if I can't use the spells in the first place!"
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 01:36 AM (GMT)
“Well, you see, all you have to do is buy the spell book, and then buy the spells and store them in th spell book. Then, you need to say the words and voila!” She nodded her head and then morphed back into her normal self, wings and all. “I hope to remember that damned spell’s name soon…” she stated and rubbed her head.
Heaving a sigh, she decided to see what she could summon. “Wanna see what I can summon?” she asked sheepishly and looked over at Zin. “This ought to be fun!” she laughed and looked around.
Zin - July 3, 2004 01:42 AM (GMT)
Zin laughed. "So do I." She then nodded, "That sounds intresting...hopefully you don't summon something that would call either of us 'next meal'." She laughed again.
((Sorry about the short post, working on a comic thing for a contest as I'm typing. :D ))
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 01:47 AM (GMT)
Ranewen laughed. “Dear, the animal comes to my aid and it will only harm those who I tell it to. Now, what shall I summon? It has to be something like a bear… Or something associated with nature, if you know what I mean.” She nodded her head and looked around, as if one of the crystals would give her the answer.
((Aha! I wish you the best of luck in it and I hope you win! Anyways, I am saving up my money for the Staff of Summoning, even though I don’t need it to summon anything. But still, it’ll be a cool accessory. ^_^ So, let’s keep this RP going as long as possible. Lol We’ll both get Gold out of it. ;)))
Zin - July 3, 2004 01:57 AM (GMT)
Zin smirked. "Can you summon a half-griffin?" she burst into peals of laughter, at a nonsensical joke, that even she didn't understand, other than the vague thought a half-griffin was somehow hilarious.
((My thoughts exactly!))
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 02:01 AM (GMT)
She, too, bursted out in laughter. “I don’t know about a half-griffon, and I don’t even wanna know what the other half is of. I can probably summon a whole griffon, unless they do with mostly air.” She nodded and looked around, still laughing a little bit. “I, myself, only know three spells. But that is because I don’t have a lot of gold at the moment.” She smiled and then poked a crystal. “Owww… They are sharp!”
Zin - July 3, 2004 02:08 AM (GMT)
Zin pulled her hand from the cut now, and peered at it. "...At least my blood isn't trying to run away anymore." She laughed. "I could almost hear it laughung at me, you know that?" She looked at her hand, then at the spike of crystal. "...How much do you think Blood-Crystal'll get you on the black market? If it's a large enough amount I might just sacrifice a little blood for the pursuit of shiny things..."
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 02:15 AM (GMT)
She shrugged, “I honestly don’t know, but maybe thirty gold at the most. Well, maybe even higher if you really want money. The highest I would ever put it is at sixty gold. But, that’s still a lot.” She was being honest and stated her opinion. A smile swept across her face after a few moments. “Well, the words are coming to me now, so if you’d like, we could sell Blood-crystals together. They can be used as weapons, you know. We just need the right tools and we could make sword ourselves and take over this little place. I’m sure soon enough I can buy us a dragon. But for the time being, I can morph myself into a large one and guard the door. Sorry, I’m rushing to ideas. I do that a lot,” she admitted with a slow nod.
((We coulds message Laoura and tell her about our idea. Maybe we can make the Blood-Crystals together, and then sell them to her maybe. Or we could ask if we can make our own shop. ^_^ Do you have any other contacts, such as AIM, MSN, or Yahoo?))
Zin - July 3, 2004 02:28 AM (GMT)
A grin spread slowly across the half-elf's face. "...That's brilliant...And no black market either..." She looked at the crystals. "Might mean severe blood loss...but with healing spells everything's possible...Hrn..."
She looked at the crystals that lined the walls. "...Jewelry too. And possibly a shield, if we can find durable enough crystal."
((That would be a good idea...very cool too...BWAHAHAHA! A steady source of gold! XD I just popped MSN into the user info bar.))
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 02:36 AM (GMT)
“Indeed. Just so long as I can say the words, we can do anything right about now. If you’d like, you may begin and I shall turn myself into our guard dragon for now. Thank God that I bought the spell Polymorph!” she said and sighed with relief as she went to the opening of the Crystal Cave. She slowly transformed herself into a large dragon that relies of magic more than physical attacks. “Okay, now, I think our shop should be called Crystal Cave or Cove or something. But, you may decide,” she said with a smirk.
((Okay, I shall PM Miss Laoura. And here’s my MSN: cenasonegirl@hotmail.com ))
Zin - July 3, 2004 02:50 AM (GMT)
Zin followed her to the enterance. "...first we need a hammer or something...so we can get the crystals out..." She paused.
"Crystal Cove sounds good." She laughed. "We bleed to bring you our finest items!"
((Literally))
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 02:55 AM (GMT)
“Hmmm… You’re totally right… Well, would you like to go to the store and buy one, or rather have me use my teeth while I’m in a dragon form?” she asked and turned her head, smirking draconishly, showing her rows of teeth.
((Lol. Indeed! That should be the slogan!))
Zin - July 3, 2004 03:08 AM (GMT)
"...They might hurt your teeth anyway. I'll check the stores" Zin slipped out of the cave. "I'll be back soon!"
((Indeed! >w<))
Zin - July 3, 2004 03:17 AM (GMT)
An hour or so later Zin returned. "...They didn't have any hammers." She muttered dejectedly.
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 03:39 PM (GMT)
Ranewen sighed. “Well, is there anything else that can break these crystals? Such as a mace or something else?” she asked, a hopeful look in her dragon-like eyes, which still stayed the same color. “Maybe magic could do it…” she thought out loud and nodded her head.
((Laoura is thinking about it. I have to PM her at the end of the week. ^_^))
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 04:14 PM (GMT)
After a few moments, a smile came across Ranewen’s mouth and she changed back into her normal self. “I remember the words for the Healing spell!” she stated excitedly and smiled. “Want me to heal your wound still?” she asked, just to make sure.
Zin - July 3, 2004 07:50 PM (GMT)
Zin was silent for a moment. "...Maybe there's a spell..." She paused, and glanced at the wound. "...That'd help. Yes."
She closed her eyes, trying to remember if there was a spell that might work. "....hn....Potion of Bull's Strength? Or....The actual Spell...Magic Missle might break some off..."
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 08:07 PM (GMT)
“Would you like me to purchase it, or would you like to?” she asked and looked over at Zin, transforming back into her regular self. “It shan’t be too much gold, eh?” she admitted and nodded her head. “Although I am going to purchase the Staff of Summoning, since I might aim to be a summoner/mage.”
Zin - July 3, 2004 08:13 PM (GMT)
Zin grinned. "I have to start somewhere!" She laughed for a moment. "I'm going to get a disguise spell later though, never know when you need one."
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 08:26 PM (GMT)
Ranewen smiled and nodded her head. “All right. You can get it. Eventually, I’ll buy the spell, but I’m getting all the summon spells now. Like I said, I aim to become a summoner, myself. It’ll be quite the experience,” she admitted and smiled.
Zin - July 3, 2004 08:34 PM (GMT)
Zin grinned. "You're looking at the next Archmage!" She grinned. "I'm trying to learn all the spells I can, and I hope I'll be able to, because with that and the fact I'm a bugger to kill I'll be invincible-or nearly so."
She laughed. "I can't wait to get those spells! I can go get them later today!"
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 09:04 PM (GMT)
Ranewen grinned as well and nodded. “We can both go shopping today. I want to get the Telekinesis and Telepathy spells as well as the Staff of Summoning, but I don’t have enough gold,” she paused for a few moments, “yet.” She nodded her head and went over to Zin and muttered a few words and touched her wound, causing it to heal.
Zin - July 3, 2004 09:18 PM (GMT)
Zin nodded as her wound healed. "I think Telekinesis might help too...might get it as well..." She grinned. "I keep finding gold everytime I do something...do you thing there's a gold mine nearby?"
((Break the fourth wall! ))
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 09:24 PM (GMT)
“I dunno… Maybe there is, but Lord only knows. I’m not finding any more gold than normal. I guess it’s just you’re lucky day,” she said and smiled, stepping back after healing her. She brushed off her hands and then yawned a bit. “So, what d you want to do now?” she asked, smiling still.
Zin - July 3, 2004 09:27 PM (GMT)
Zin paused. "Find something to use to get some of the crystal out maybe." She turned to a small crystal, and hammered on it with her spellbook. "...Neither have any damage..." She stared at the book. "...It's more durable than I thought!"
She grinned, hammering away with her dagger now. "Ever had an angry dwarf try to use the bussiness end of his axe on you to get you to go away?"
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 09:36 PM (GMT)
Ranewen smirked and laughed a bit. “That’s a good one. But no, I haven’t.” She then summoned a bear to come help them get the crystals. The bear waited for its command by Ranewen. “Try to break some of the crystals off,” she commanded and the bear did so. It scratched and bit at the crystals, making cracks in them, He dropped down to let one of the two girls do the rest of the word.
Zin - July 3, 2004 09:44 PM (GMT)
Zin grinned wolfishly, and quickly hopped onto a crystal, whereupon she began trying to force it to hit the floor by standing on the tip and jumping up and down.
After deciding this tactic did not work, she slammed the dagger into one of the cracks, and grinned as it started to groan and move slightly.
It was about to fall when she realized that it would take her with it. "...oops."
She laughed as she crashed to the floor, and then yelped as she hit the same crystal as brfore-though she didn't get skewered this time.
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 09:57 PM (GMT)
“Just your luck, huh?” she teased and told the bear to continue on doing it. She walked over to a crystal, which he had caused cracks to form in. She took her flame wand and used to point of it to force if down, by leaning all of her weight on it. She smiled as it crashed to the ground, though it did not shatter. “Well, this tactic is going well,” she said with a smile and crossed her arms. “We should make a single pile and put them there,” she suggested.
Zin - July 3, 2004 10:03 PM (GMT)
"Right then! Might want to watch out..." Zin put her foot on the crystal and forced her weuight on the slimmest end, and the rock shot to the aforementioned area, as Zin's foot touched the ground again. "Heh. We could make a whole ride here! Imagine! Ride tnhe falling crystal! 30 gold, must sign a waiver, if you should die we donate the cash and such to the poor or something..." She laughed again.
"Forgive my rather...dark humor...I can't really help it! It just seems funny, really..."
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 10:28 PM (GMT)
Ranewen laughed as well. “It is quite funny, actually. I have a dark mind, too, so no need to worry.” She smiled and forced her own weight on a crystal and went falling to the floor. She smirked. “This is fun! We should hire people to do it. So, if they die, it won’t be us!”
Zin - July 3, 2004 10:33 PM (GMT)
"...hn..." Zin came down on another crystal. "That's true...But if they don't die, then we end up having to pay them!" SHe kicked the crystal into the pile, then started on another. "And that could be very costly!"
Ranewen - July 3, 2004 10:44 PM (GMT)
“Whoever said we couldn’t use the telekinesis power I am purchasing to cause an accident at the end of every week? We might be classifies as murderers, but it’ll appear as an accident.” She smirked and nodded her head and jumped down on another crystal and then she, too, shoved it into the pile.
