Title: The Underdark City
Nashida - March 11, 2004 04:39 AM (GMT)
[glow=blue,5]Nashida had found the Underdark entrance with little difficulty. There were many well charted maps leading to the city and for some strange reason, Nashida felt as though she had been there before. Another of those damned phantom memories that she got frequently of her life before her black out. The feeling that she had been there before also infused her with a great feeling of hope. Perhaps she would learn something of her past here?
The city was not very large, but elegant. There was of course the usual drow spider motif in many places, but not as overpowering as in Menzoberranzan. How Nashida knew that was a puzzle to her because she had no memory of visiting the drow capitol.
There were many merchants, mostly drow. There were a lot of non-drow too, though, who were either looking at the different vendor stalls or selling their own imorted items from the surface, many of which were unvailable without the non-drow traders.
Nashida was looking for something. She had been told by a seer to go to Myth Drannor and find a woman known as only The Seer. She was very old and powerful and welcomes any who have questions. Nashida wondered what price her answers would cost. Nothing was ever free.
She did not know what she was looking for, nor where tofind it so the most she could do now was wander and hope to find some clue.[/glow]
Jhael - March 12, 2004 04:20 PM (GMT)
(Wow, I guess I'm not the only one who's played NWN: Hordes of the Underdark B) )
Jhael had only visited Myth Drannor on one or two other occasions in his past. Usually only as DeVir House business. He had always enjoyed the more peaceful city opposed to Menzoberranzan. He knew of the Seer as well, having met her both the times he had came to Myth Drannor. She was one of the only ones to know about Jhael's true nature.
The Seer was wise, but it was difficult to get an audience with her unless you had powerful connections. The Seer had many enemies and countered them with strong security and many bodyguards.
He had hoped to find her also, but she also constantly changed her headquarters in the city. The last place he had known her whereabouts was in an abandoned building at the edge of the city. To verify whether or not she was still there, Jhael knew of several loose tongues that would loosen even more at the sight of gold. The most likely place to find a lead would be at one of the small taverns where people visiting from Menzoberranzan were likely to be. The people of Menzoberranzan hated Myth Drannor, but they depended heavily on Myth Drannor for supplies and imports.
Nashida - March 12, 2004 11:31 PM (GMT)
[glow=blue,4]Nashida was walking along the streets when she accidently bumped into a male drow with clear amber eyes. "Sorry," she said. Then a thought came to her and it was worth a try. "Do you know where to find a woman known as The Seer?" Nashida asked hesitantly. She had no clue about the politics of Lith My'athar, thinking that The Seer was merely a paid diviner like so many were. Maybe even a fruad.
"Any help you could give would be, uh, very appreciated," she said with a bit of a smile and she pulled a couple of gold coins from her pocket. One of the few she had. "And if you do know where I can find her and lead the way, I will offer you even more gold once I have found myself safely at her door."
Gold was always the best help when dealing with shadowy people such as the drow.[/glow]

Jhael laughed aloud. "My lady I cannot accept that gold. I would advise, though, not to speak too openly about The Seer. She has many enemies at the moment," he said more quietly. "It would seem, though, that we are both looking for the same thing. I too seek The Seer. She is not easy to find, but I have met her on two seperate occasions. I may know of a few places to look, and I would be glad to help you. Come with me and we shall speak to some friends I have here."
He gave her the offer, but it was her choice whether to follow or not. He wouldn't blame her for not accepting his offer. It was a dangerous business to follow others in the Underdark.
Nashida - March 14, 2004 11:05 PM (GMT)
[glow=blue,4]Nashida looked at him for a long moment. She was a cautious person and a drow was one of the last people one would want to trust, except perhaps a demon. It was a long moment before she nodded. Distrust was still within her, but she would just have to deal with one encounter at a time and if this man was telling the truth, some might have killed her as soon as she mentioned The Seer.
"Fine. If you know where I might find her, then lead on. I don't have much of a choice but to trust you."
She touched the hilt of her blade for reassurance of her choice. This man didn't seem to be evil, but there was no way of knowing either way until Nashida became more powerful with her magic.[/glow]
