Title: Not Where you want to be without a Weapon...
Nashida - March 10, 2004 11:02 PM (GMT)
[glow=red,3]Nashida had gotten lost. Figures she thought bitterly as she stumbled through the unpleasant forest. It seemed to get thicker all around her and she noticed that there were at first, thin whispy strands of spiderwebs that started to look thicker and thicker and more numerous. Unease rose within her as she pressed on, hoping that she was going to right way. It was too late to turn back now. The best thing for her to do was keep going.
The webs were getting to be of unnatural sizes when she really started to get afraid. Not much scared Nashida. She had travelled to several Planes and seen many horrible things, but she had hated spiders, which is why she had avoided the Demonweb Pits at all cost.
She began feeling jittery and stalked. She began running. Panic was overtaking her. Nashida knew she was being followed now... There was something following her from above.
Several somethings.
Sprinting hard, she tripped on a mangled tree root. She fell forward, scraping her chin and arms. A screech made her look up just in time to see six enormous spiders ready themselves to pounce on her from above. Their stingers dripped with lethal black poison and their pincers slavered.
Nashida rolled just as the first jumped. The first missed, but then the second jumped as well and one of its clawed, sharp feet pinned down her forearm.
Nashida shouted and let loose a blue fireball right into the monsters face. It screamed and let go. Even with her fire magic, she was not powerful enough to fight off all the spiders and the one that she had injured might come back, even more enraged than before...[/glow]
Velach - March 11, 2004 04:00 AM (GMT)
The evening was trying to grip Velach's mind. He had been wandering the forests and made his way into the dark places of the woods. The spiders did not bother him. They sensed him as one of the demons who they respected and feared. Indeed Velach had the aura of the powerful demon who had cursed him, flowing off of him, taking hold of his mind. He had been fighting until only recently when Drelican's power sensed blood nearby and the demon took complete control of him.
Velach, who had no control now, stalked towards the sense of life. He heard spiders ahead and knew he was going the right way. Seeing the spiders surrounding the young woman, he smirked darkly.
Summoning power, he shot a shaft of lightning into the clearing, striking one of the spiders who squealed like a pig about to be taken to the butcher. After the lightning he sent a fireball into another. The dark, necrid smell of decay spiraled as smoke from the parched creature.
The spiders then began retreating.
Go, he hissed mentally. She is mine.
Nashida - March 11, 2004 04:05 AM (GMT)
[glow=blue,3]Nashida heard the screaming spiders and smelt the scent of their demise as she stood, looking at the stranger. She watched the spiders as they slunk away, seemingly afraid of this man who she faced.
There was nothing good she sensed about him. She felt the waves of demonic power surging from him, attempting to make her ill. Nashida knew she hated demons, even though she remembered so little of her own past. He meant ill as any demon did and he meant to slay her.
No weapons. The only thing that Nashida had to fall back on was her limited magic capabilities. This was going to be difficult... He had several weapons at his disposal.[/glow]
Velach - March 11, 2004 04:20 AM (GMT)
Velach smiled and drew nearer, his spear in hand. He loved the smell of fear. He relished the taste of panic. A part of him cried out against his actions and pleasures, but it was only a muted voice, barely heard under the thunder of the demon controlling him.
As he stalked fluidly closer, he tried to decide how to deal the blow. Should he cut her and let her bleed to death? A slow, but calm sort of death. Velach enjoyed watching a bleeding victim die slowly.
Nashida - March 11, 2004 04:25 AM (GMT)
[glow=blue,3]Nashida tried not to take her eyes off of the demonic man. She was looking around the area for a weapon of somesort. If she did not find one, she was lost. He had more magic as well, Nashida could see that in his aura too. She shivered in the evening's cold and swallowed hard, trying to think, not able to take her eyes away from him in fear that he would strike before she would have a chance to react.
A sudden glimmer caught her eye to her right. Turning her head only a fraction towards it she saw a decaying body that at first made her stomach somersault, but then she noticed what was in its skeletal hands.
A sword.
Nashida did not wait for the man to act. She twirled to her right, sliding in the soft earth. The sword was not far. She reached out to grab it...[/glow]
Velach - March 11, 2004 03:41 PM (GMT)
Velach smiled darkly and reached out a hand, speaking with the arcane tongue. He used the spell Weaken on her and he knew it would make her unable to move very quickly and make it so that she wouldn't be able to lift a weapon.
Once the spell was cast, he moved forward, grabbing her forearm. He then began using another spell. Frost began covering the hand that held Nashida's arm, but it did not effect him. It would effect Nashida, though.
Nashida - March 11, 2004 04:06 PM (GMT)
[glow=blue,4]As she darted for the weapon, she heard him speak and great weakness overtook her. She stumbled to keep from falling and she missed the hilt. Then he grabbed her arm. Nashida tried to wrench it away before he could use more magic.
It was too late. Her arm began feeling stiff and cold as frost began covering it. Thinking quickly, Nashida began concentrating, calling forth her inborn magic. Flames burst around the arm. Like the ice didn't affect Velach, the flames didn't hurt Nashida. It melted the ice and filled her arm with strength and heat. The weakness was leaving her and she had the feeling that the flames would burn the man badly.[/glow]
Velach - March 11, 2004 04:18 PM (GMT)
Velach grimaced with pain and quickly withdrew his hand. The flesh of it was now raw and burned. It steamed slightly in the cold air of the night. He glared at her, but withdrew a few paces and used a simple healing spell, growing back the layers of skin that had been lost. It took a minute, and he had a feeling in that time Nashida would have her weapon. All the more fun, he thought darkly as the hand healed. By the time he was done, it was healed, but slightly scarred and still hurt slightly.
Nashida - March 11, 2004 04:43 PM (GMT)
[glow=blue,4]Indeed as soon as he removed his hand and backed away, she leapt forward and grabbed the blade. The hand did not try to grab it back, for which she was glad. Nashida whispered a quick thanks before turning to face the man, holding the weapon with an experts hand. Nashida was also not aware she knew how to fight, but her instincts were telling her exactly how to hold it and ready for an attack.
The man's staff had a much longer reach than Nashida's shortsword, which was surprisingly well made considering it had been in the forest for so long. It was well balanced and it shone brightly even in the darkness of the evening. A slight wind had picked up and the blade seemed to sing lightly as the breeze flew by her, stirring her dark hair.[/glow]
Munwithurix - March 11, 2004 05:10 PM (GMT)
Munwithurix heard some noise of spiders and other dark creatures that loomed in the darkness. As she walked deeper into the forest she heard spiders, they seemed to be excited about something. She started to run, quick and quiet. As she approached she heard the spiders again, but this time they were in pain. An evil thought went through her mind as she neared. If they were in pain that means the one they are attacking will be fun to kill. She stoped running, she stood still sniffing the air before her, there was a smell of fire and two things ahead.
She bent her head down and went low to the ground sneaking up on her pray. As she got close enough to see what was happening there was a a woman and a man, both seemed to be fighting. She got as close as she could without being seen then she walked up behind the man, who seemed to be healing himself.
She lifted herself over ten feet above him with acid in her mouth. If anyone would be able to see her clearly it will be the woman, who held a sword.
Velach - March 12, 2004 03:09 AM (GMT)
Velach was about to charge forth at Nashida, in a one-on-one battle, but Cren, his familiar burst from the nearby trees, cawing loudly. He did not receive a complete telepathic message, but her meaning was clear. There was unseen danger nearby. He turned to be surprised by an enormous creature.
The dragons mouth was dripping with green acid and she looked angry. Rare fear filled him. It was rare for him to feel anything beyond anger and bloodlust when Drelican had control over his mind.
Nashida - March 12, 2004 03:28 AM (GMT)
[glow=blue,4]Nashida was frozen with terror as the dragon rose from behind the man. She also saw an opportunity when she saw the man's own fear. The bird startled her and she was pulled out of her reverie. Acting quickly, she moved to the side and was ready to flee. She was not sure which of them would be attacked by the dragon, the man or herself.
She hoped that it would be Velach. The smell of a bog had filled the clearing at the appearance of the dragon and made her almost queasy.
Damn, this keeps getting better and better... she thought bitterly.[/glow]
Munwithurix - March 12, 2004 06:59 PM (GMT)
Munwithurix grinned, she felt the man's fear when he turned. "Well, what do we have here? Two people wandering the woods of the spiders? I thought humans were smarter then that." She said acid flying from her mouth, there was smoke and a sizzleing sound of where the acid had landed. She looked at the two thinking which would be the easiest to kill; The woman, she had only a sword. She sensed the man wasn't normal and was probably harder to catch.
Munwithurix slashed out with her front foot nocking the man aside. She started walking toward the woman a grin on her face. She filled her mouth with acid again ready to kill.
Nashida - March 12, 2004 09:46 PM (GMT)
[glow=blue,4]Seeing the dragon knock the man easily aside and come at her, acid sloshing forth from the maw of the creature, Nashida called forth the power of her fire as she dive aside. Blue flames engulfed her hand as she gathered whatever power she could to launch a fireball at the creature. Nashida had a forboding feeling that its scales would block the worst of the spell. Dragon hides were known to be the strongest in all the planes, except maybe an earth elementals.
She unleashed the fire at the dragons broad side. It was a magically draining attack, but she had to use a lot of power to do anything against the dragon.[/glow]
Velach - March 18, 2004 08:08 PM (GMT)
Velach flew against a nearby tree. The air was knocked from him and he gasped to regain it and shook the fuzziness from his vision. His back shouted in agony when he moved to try and stand. Then he realized he was back in control. Every time Drelican left him, he felt the overwhelming sense of freedom and anger with the knowledge that the accursed demon could very easily do it again.
He stood and rolled to his bow, which he had discarded in the battle and grabbed an ice arrow from his quiver. The roll had hurt his back even more, but it wasn't bad and at most he believed he would probably have a bad bruise.
He drew back his Elvish bow and used some magic on the arrow before letting it fly at the dragon.
Munwithurix - March 20, 2004 12:55 AM (GMT)
Munwithurix felt the blast of the fire ball and flinced back as it hit. Then felt the arrow strike herside. She growed loudly as the two attacked. She filled her mouth full of acid once again, then spat it at the woman, then refilled her mouth and spat at the man.
She moved her tail around waiting for the next attack. Didn't humans know anything, they should know not to try and fight a dragon, she thought as she preperd herself for another attack.
She kept her mouth full of acid untill a attack came. She pawed the ground and then charged at the woman. Her mouth was ready to spit the acid as she charged.
