Title: Grooming

Kiranni - February 23, 2004 09:31 PM (GMT)
Aeacus pretty much took over from there and Kiranni was slightly astounded that Aeacus could have managed so much. Not meaning her any offense, but she had thought her not as powerful as she had just proven to be. Kiranni's eyes were slightly wide and she watched the demon's head drop to the stable floor. The things blood smelled horribly like vomit and made Kiranni feel slightly sick.

"Well, that was certainly interesting,"

Kiranni replied coolly looking at Aeacus with minimal astonishment. She had learned quite a bit about Aeacus in the past few moments. The most interesting that someone wanted her dead. Kiranni smirked in thought.

"So someone wants to kill you? That must be a bit of a problem. Who is it?"

Kiranni questioned not really caring about seeming rude at the moment.

Aeacus - February 23, 2004 09:37 PM (GMT)
Aeacus covered the blood and body over with hay slightly. Someone who murdered my parents long ago. Aeacus stood up, cracked her neck and pulled out a rag to clean her sword with. She cleaned the black, vile blood of her sword, the sword shining in the light while the rag went from a dark red, to pure black with red splotches. Aeacus used her fire ball spell to set the rag on fire, throwing the rag on top the orc body. The body and hay was slowly being engulfed in flames. Aeacus turned facing the Kiranni, the fire burning behind her making her look like a powerfull, evil dragon coming out of the flames. Aeacus smiled at Kirannia slightly and walked by her to the other end, leaning agaisnt a stall wall.

Kiranni - February 3, 2004 10:01 PM (GMT)
Kiranni had gone to the stables in Kellen to groom her horse. Streea was rather cross with her that she had left her in the stables for a mere week. Kiranni found her steed in a nice roomy stall. She opened the gate and slipped in. As soon as Streea caught sight of her she turned her back on Kiranni. Kiranni scowled at her ingrate of a horse. She clenched her fists and tried to calm herself a bit.

"If you're going to act like that then I'll just abandon you here,"

Kiranni said cruelly. Streea turned then as she knew Kiranni would actually leave her. Streea nuzzled Kiranni's shoulder in apology and Kiranni smiled.

"Now stay still,"

She said patting Streea's muzzle. Her horse had more than a few burrs burried in her mane. Kiranni grabbed a brush from it's place on a small ledge in the stable and began to run it through Streea's dark mane.

Aeacus - February 3, 2004 10:12 PM (GMT)
Aeacus watched the argueing steed and its owner from a dark rafter supporting the ceiling. Aeacus silently sat there, watching the human groom her stead. The human looked to be an assisen maybe, but you never knew. When the stranger was facing the opposite direction, Aeacus silently stretched out her long, black dragon wings and flew down to the side of the stall. Aeacus sat on her toes, in the position you may see a statue of a dragon on the side of a castle. Aeacus's eyes glowed yellow, with a hint of blue. She didn't normal just approach strangers but today she didn't quite care. Aeacus watched the unexpecting stranger for a second, head tilting. That's a fine steed. Why would you abandon it, even though it's slightly stubborn.

Kiranni - February 3, 2004 10:32 PM (GMT)
"Because I'm a cruel hearted person,"

Kiranni said in monotone, not turning to face the stranger behind her.

"I don't believe we've ever met,"

Kiranni continued. She yawned finally satisfied with her grooming job in Streea's mane and moving to brush out her tail. She snuck a quick glance at the female behind her as she moved to see if she posed any form of threat. Kiranni didn't think she looked too terrible and continued her brushing.

"So who may you be and what is your purpose?"

Kiranni questioned the woman she didn't even know.

Aeacus - February 3, 2004 10:40 PM (GMT)
Aeacus took in her first response with no reaction, just a clearer image of who ther person was. I am Aeacus. I am a wanderer and I just so happened to wander into this village. No real reason. And who might you be? Aeacus noticed that the stranger took a quick glance at her. Aeacus took it as nothing and stared as the stranger continued to brush her horse.

Kiranni - February 4, 2004 09:37 PM (GMT)
Kiranni let out a deep breath as if she had been holding it forever. She did turn now, pausing in her careful grooming, to look at Aeacus as she replied.

"I am Kiranni and I came here to groom my horse if that's the next question you'll ask,"

Kiranni said with slight scorn. She sized up Aeacus fully now. After doing so she turned back to Streea who was looking around confused because Kiranni had stopped grooming her. Streea, upon seeing Aeacus, had snorted and begun to stomp her hooves slightly. Kiranni gave her steed a warning look and finished up brushing Streea's tail.

Aeacus - February 4, 2004 10:37 PM (GMT)
Aeacus nodded and said nothing. She looked around the barn at the darkness closing in. It was dark outside, and almost completely dark inside. There were a few oil lamps but that was about it. Aeacus thought she saw something in one of the corners but dismissed it. If something did attack, she would be ready. She always is. Aeacus moved over slighly and looked at the horse. It was a beautifull horse and almost as scorn as its master. ((ooc i'm meaning that in a good way)) Aeacus watched the grooming and the dark corners carefully.

Kiranni - February 6, 2004 10:51 PM (GMT)
((lol, no problemo))

Kiranni, now finished with her brushing, found herself and Aeacus short on conversation topics. She ran her fingers through her hair distractedly before realising that she still held the grooming brush tight in her palm. She placed it back where she had found it. Her eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness that had settled around the stables and within them. She cleared her throat to buy her time to think of something to say.

"Do you have a steed of your own?"

Kiranni questioned after some moments not particularly interested in the response. She ran her hand along her horse's flanks, keeping Streea calm. Her eyes stared at Aeacus, although not really seeing her, but staring past into the darkness. She blinked and tried to focus back on Aeacus, head swimming.

Aeacus - February 7, 2004 05:47 PM (GMT)
Aeacus didn't pay any mind to the far away stare she was getting. No I do not have a steed. Aeacus twitched her wings a bit. I don't need one Aeacus could fly faster than any horse that decided to race her. Aeacus looked around again, staring into the oil lamp above them. Something in the dark corner moved and caught the corner of Aeacus's eye. Aeacus quickly looked over and ducked when a dagger flew from the corner, just missing her head.

Kiranni - February 9, 2004 09:42 PM (GMT)
Kiranni then realised how stupid her question had been, Aeacus was winged after all. She watched the dark corner and knew instinctively that something lay in wait. A dagger nearly decapitated Aeacus. Kiranni frowned and unsheathed her own daggers. She peered into the dark corner her frown increasing. She wasn't sure what the creature was yet, but it couldn't be that big, unless it was a shape shifter. Then they were dealing with a new problem altogether. She glanced to Aeacus making sure she was alright. The blade hadn't even touched her and she seemed fine. Kiranni climbed on top of the side of the stable so as to get a better position for attack. She stabbed into the corner, precariously balanced, and there was a loud shriek of pain. She smirked at apparently wounding the creature. If it was a shapeshifter the wound would be minor. She hoped that it wasn't, Aeacus and herself would be in for a long battle if it was a strong one.

Aeacus - February 9, 2004 09:51 PM (GMT)
Aeacus pulled out her throwing dagger and threw it at the corner, making sure not to hit the stranger. There was another shriek of pain followed by heavy breathing of whatever it was. Aeacus shuddered slightly from the high-pitched scream, hearing worse but not in a while, and jumped down from the side. Aeacus unfolded her wings and flew up to a lantern with a pale yellow glow around it and took it off it's hook. Aeacus then landed and walked over to the corner, sword in hand now, and shined the lantern where the creature or person was. What she saw filled her with sickening horror and disgust.

Kiranni - February 10, 2004 09:40 PM (GMT)
Kiranni saw what was illuminated in the corner and she frowned once more. A demon was in the corner and it smelled foul. It didn't look too powerful, but it wasn't going to go down without a fight. It had two wounds from where Aeacus and herself had stabbed it. It shrieked once more and fell to the stable floor. It twitched for a moment before standing up, now angered and ready for a fight. Kiranni jumped from the stable side landing in a crouched position. She stood up quickly and took a step closer to where Aeacus was flying. The demon shot a ball of fire at the both of them. A horrible hissing noise escaped its lips. Kiranni dodged the fire and gripped her daggers tightly. Then she threw both of her daggers at the demon who staggered backwards slightly.

Aeacus - February 21, 2004 04:28 PM (GMT)
Aeacus watched from behind, wondering if she should join in or not. Aeacus stared at the Demon for a minute or two, thinking she saw him before. Something then clicked inside her mind. Aeacus saw him a couple days earlier, following her here. Aeacus pulled out her masterwork dagger, coming close to the demon, blade menicengly close to it's throat. Why 'ello. Why are you here? Why are you following me? The demon didn't say anything so she grabbed it's black, sickening hand and cut off it's thumb. It pulled back it's hand, looking at where his thumb was, the black blood flowing out onto the hay below. Why are you following me?! This time the Demon talked, his voice disgusting and deep. [color=gray]You know halfly why. Somebody sent me. Somebody who wants you dead. But I wasn't supposed to kill you, just capture you so he could. You know who I'm talking about. He smiled an evil, black, hate filled smile. Aeacus's eyes were blood red now, and she put her dagger away and in one swift motion pulled out her sword and stabbed her Demon in the chest. Blood spilled out of his heart and chest, the smile on his face dissapearing to a silent scream. Tell him when you both reach hell that he will never find, he will never kill me, it will be the opposite. I will kill him, mutalate him the way he did my parents. See you in hell. Aeacus pulled out her sword and cut it's head off, the head slinging off into the wall, where it dropped beside the body, eyes and mouth still open.

Kiranni - February 25, 2004 09:49 PM (GMT)
Kiranni listened to Aeacus' reply unimpressed. People wanting to kill others over blood feuds was nothing new. Now that Aeacus had started a fire, Kiranni figured it best to get Streea out. Her horse had been whinnying for some time and the flames made her horse uneasy. Kiranni untied Streea's reins from where she had tied them. She led her horse back past Aeacus who was now resting on the stable wall and cleaning her sword. Once outside of the stables, Kiranni tied Streea up once more. Streea gave her a baleful look, but Kiranni ignored her. She walked back to where Aeacus was and hopped up to sit on the opposite stable side, balancing carefully. She opened her eyes wide as she remembered her daggers. They were still lodged in the body of the, now flaming, carcass. She frowned and figured she would have to wait until the fire died down. Her mind went back to the events of the pass few moments.

"I see, someone who wants your entire family dead. Interesting..."

Kiranni finally replied trailing off.

Aeacus - February 25, 2004 10:27 PM (GMT)
And I have no idea why. Aeacus noticed Kirannis eyes as she looked at the daggers still in the orc. Aeacus looked too, remember her own dagger. Aeacus shrugged slightly, and pulled out her long Wizards staff. She used her telekenises to pull all of the daggers out, which flew out and great speeds and stuck, blade first into the wall. They were covered in bubbling orcs blood and extremly hot. Aeacus decided to leave them there for a while, letting them cool off.

Kiranni - February 25, 2004 11:04 PM (GMT)
"You read my mind. Thanks, and isn't it rather odd that you have absolutely no idea why someone wants to snuff the life out of you?"

Kiranni questioned with a queer expression and wondering how Aeacus could not know why she was wanted dead. If someone wanted me dead I would know why, Kiranni thought to herself. She tapped her fingers lightly on the stable wall where she was perched.

"So, what brings you to Kellen?"

Kiranni questioned eager to know more about Aeacus who presented herself so mysteriously. Kiranni turned to face Aeacus and tilted her head slightly as she waited for an answer continuing to strum her fingers as she patiently waited.

Aeacus - February 25, 2004 11:36 PM (GMT)
No. I do not have any idea why this man wants me dead and murdered my parents. I have made it my lifes mission to seek revenge and know why. He has been looking for me, and I have been looking for him. Aeacus looked very serious when discussing this man. Her eyes were a blood red now, having remembered this horrid man. Aeacus took a deep breath and relaxing a bit, her eyes shining back to their normal yellow. I am in Kellen for no apparent reason. Just passing through. Why are you here?

Kiranni - February 26, 2004 09:24 PM (GMT)
"Streea,"

Kiranni replied simply, jerking her head in the general direction of where she had tied up her horse. Aeacus was becoming more interesting by the minute. She was looking for the person who had murdered her parents, interesting, perhaps unwise, but still interesting.

"If you and the person who killed your family are both looking for each other, it should be quite easy to find them shouldn't it?"

Kiranni questioned, perturbed at why this apparently presented such a challenge.

Aeacus - March 2, 2004 11:50 PM (GMT)
Aeacus smiled and shook her head, staring out at a window. I wish it was that simple. But he is where I can't find him and is constently sending orcs or bandits or whoever to come and find me. But I am determined not to be taken by a pathetic worker for him. If he wants to come fine me, he will have to do it himself, not somebody working for him. Aeacus stretched her arms upward, then let them drop to her sides. Her sleeve built up on her shoulder and when her arms droped they revealed shaped scars on her upper arms. There were five on one and three on the other. On her right there was a large M and D, a feather, and eye, and a tear drop. On her left was a sword, a J, and flame. Aeacus pulled her sleeves down, and stared out the windows again.

Kiranni - March 8, 2004 10:40 PM (GMT)
"Filthy coward. He has no right to send others to do his dirty work,"

Kiranni replied scornfully, shaking her head at the apparent cowardice. Only the lowliest of creatures sent minions to do their bidding. Aeacus shifted and Kiranni noticed a load of scars on her arms. She pretended not to notice them, and continued to watch Aeacus out of the corner of her eye. Kiranni gave a slight yawn and ran her long fingers through her hair. She let out a deep breath and turned to look fully at Aeacus with a calculating gaze. Thoughts still lingering on Aeacus' array of scars, Kiranni couldn't help but ask about them.

"What's all that from then?"

She questioned in a would be casual tone. She wondered if Aeacus would answer truthfully, or try to skirt the question with a lie. Either way, it didn't bother Kiranni too much.

Aeacus - March 8, 2004 10:58 PM (GMT)
Aeacus turned her attention back to Kirrani when she was asked a question. Aeacus shrugged and crossed her arms, a little bit bored. There scars I made. Every time the murder does something to someone I know or love then I scare myself, since it is halfy my own fault. I have many, as you saw, and probably have more to come. Each one stands for where, or to who, it happened to, and it just reminds me of what I have to do and why I have to do it. So basically, there just a painfull little reminder. Aeacus answered the question like she answering any other question. Aeacus didn't really know why she was spilling everything to this stranger, but another allie could be usefull. Aeacus shifted her feet, and cracked her neck loudly, a bad habit of hers.

Kiranni - March 22, 2004 09:38 PM (GMT)
Kiranni took it that Aeacus had answered truthfully. She would have had to have been a compulsive liar to have come up with that tale so quickly. Kiranni wondered why Aeacus was so trusting, a little too trusting in fact. She let out a deep breath and looked up at the ceiling of the stable.

"Why are you telling me all this? We barely even know each other and you're answering every question I'm asking. Besides, you know little about me, yet you assume me trustworthy. A rather foolish assumption, do you not agree?"

Kiranni replied, speaking what was on her mind quite plainly. She turned her attention back towards Aeacus. She tapped her fingers lightly against the stable siding, a barely audible noise that steadied her restless air.

Aeacus - March 23, 2004 01:35 AM (GMT)
Aeacus nodded at the question, not taking her gaze from the window. You don't strike me as the sociable sort, for one. Who would you tell it to, if it really mattered. Also, you don't seem to care about much, so you don't care about any of this or me. You wouldn't care to just all of a sudden pop out in a conversation about my past, which nothing can be done about it so it doesn't have anything to do with the future. Anyway, I am actually carefull about what I say around people whom I barely now. My past does not effect my future or now, so I can tell it at free will, but there are many other things that I wouldn't dare tell to anybody. I also feel I can be semi-open to you because maybe later you will become an allie, which everybody can afford to have many. The answer came out plainly, since she was plainly speaking from her mind.

Kiranni - March 26, 2004 09:48 PM (GMT)
"Touché,"

Kiranni replied, she knew Aeacus was being blatantly honest now. She had been only half expecting an answer like that.

"You say you think me possibly a valuable ally, I thank you for the compliment. The feeling is mutual, you seem fairly trustworthy upon just meeting you, perhaps we could be allies...,"

Kiranni replied with cocked eyebrow. At least Aeacus had gotten right to the point about being allies. Kiranni had toyed with the idea after their battle, but had dismissed it assuming Aeacus found her anti- social like most she met.

Aeacus - March 26, 2004 10:34 PM (GMT)
Aeacus nodded once. Perhaps we could. You seem very strong and quick to react. You also may not have a problem in killing people you don't quite now. Your cautious in your own ways, some would say anti-social. But then again, this is only what I grab from you from the past couple of hours we have been talking to each other. I don't like to judge, those are just my views on you now, and they may change if I get to know you better. Aeacus toyed with her dagger in her hand, talking at the same time.

Kiranni - March 29, 2004 10:10 PM (GMT)
Kiranni smirked, she knew this could turn out to be a good allegiance. She stood and walked over to where her daggers still stuck in the stable wall. It was a little to high for her to reach even with her tall stature. She used her own telekenesis to remove the blades and bring them down to rest in her palms. She clenched her fists around the handles momentarily before sheathing them. Looking up towards Aeacus, Kiranni moved across the room until she was in front of Aeacus.

"Allies?"

Kiranni questioned extending her hand and wearing a quizzical look.

Aeacus - March 29, 2004 11:32 PM (GMT)
Aeacus stood up from her leaning position of the wall, looking deep into Kiranni's eyes with her large yellow ones. She extended her hand and firmly grabbed the allie's and shook momentarily. Allies. Aeacus smiled slightly and let go of her hand. Aeacus returned to her relaxed position, leaning lazily against the stall wall. So...Anything I need to know that may effect me as your allie in the near or far future? I basically told you everything. Aeacus asked calmly, not really expecting an answer, though Kiranni has surprised her a couple of times.

Kiranni - April 7, 2004 10:52 PM (GMT)
"Nothing too important,"

Kiranni replied secretively. There really was nothing overly important that she needed to tell Aeacus if they were to be allies. Kiranni certainly had demons (literally, she thought to herself with a small smirk) from her past that came back to haunt her every so often, but she saw no reason as to why they would compromise their alliance. She yawned slightly and retreated to where she had previously perched. She watched Aeacus for a few seconds then, considering if she was as trustworthy as she appeared to be. Kiranni shrugged of the defensive feeling she usually got when meeting others and merely consoled herself with the thought that what was done, was done.

Aeacus - April 28, 2004 11:28 PM (GMT)
Aeacus hmmed slightly and nodded, looking tired suddenly. If there is anything, then tell me when it pops up. I have a bad knack of attracting...evil or deadly things trying to kill me or something or someone with me. Odd, but it's life. Can't do anything about it but look and wait. Aeacus sighed and tilted her head from side to side, popping her neck bones loudly.

((ooc: ack...sorry it's SO short but I have nothing to write. Make something happen!))

Kiranni - May 3, 2004 08:33 PM (GMT)
(I'm not in a very creative mood, and we already fought something so you pick something because taverns are boring ;) )

Bored with the idle chit chat Kiranni looked towards the tavern nearby.

"Fancy a drink? Or a few?"

She questioned turning back to Aeacus with a mischevious grin. Not waiting for response, she hopped over the low stable wall and headed toward the dimly lit tavern. She was in a mind set to get slightly drunk and gamble away the little money she had on her. She entered the tavern without so much as a last look back to where her horse still remained tethered. She procured a bottle of wine and began to drink deeply from it. This was, perhaps, Kiranni in her most irrational state. She sat down on a bar stool watching the door to see if Aeacus was coming. She blinked as the alcohol began to quickly deteriorate her sensibility.

Aeacus - May 3, 2004 11:25 PM (GMT)
Aeacus smiled and followed Kirrani out of the barn, looking at her horse for a second, then followed her into the bar. She sat besides her, ordering a cup of Ale, drinking it down, enjoying the burning sensation in the back of her throat. Aeacus watched out of the corner of her eye at Kirrani as she was getting drunk from the bottle of wine, smiling at herself and ordered another Ale. As she was drinking she noticed something in the window. When she turned to see what it was, it dissapeared and ran around the tavern. Aeacus didn't take much note of it and continued to drink, her eyes turning an icy blue. The door then swung open and a rotten smell came from the creature standing in the doorway. Aeacus looked up to see a horribly ugly creature standing in the doorway and looking around. His beedy black eyes set on Aeacus and Kiranni and began to walk towards them. Aeacus nudged Kiranni slightly. Sober up a bit, we have guest. Aeacus muttered quietly under her breath. The creature came up behind them and Aeacus turned slowly to look at him, no expression on her face. Can I help you? I do not enjoy haveing creatures breath down my neck. The creature chuckled softly, sounding more like a gurgal. Extreamly quick the creature pulled out a wire and pulled it around Aeacus's neck. Usually Aeacus is quick to reply, but paying mind to Kiranni beside her she wasn't quick enough. She stabbed the creature repeatily in the hands, it's vile blood running down onto her shoulders.

Kiranni - June 1, 2004 09:46 PM (GMT)
Always first to sober in a fight Kiranni grabbed her dagger and sliced the wire that the disgusting looking creature has used to entangle Aeacus. She then proceeded to smash the still half full bottle of wine over the creatures head. Hey! came the barman's protest behind her. Kiranni cared very little, she had paid for the bottle of wine, even if it was of an old vintage, she could do whatever she so desired with it. Turning back to the monster at hand Kiranni stabbed it in the shoulder. Her vision wavered momentarily, she felt like she had had more to drink than she actually had. Blinking hard she kicked the creature and it stumbled backwards. Seeing that the creature was slightly winded Kiranni took a step backwards toward Aeacus.

"You all right?"

She questioned resting a hand on Aeacus' shoulder, eyes still fixed on the monster.
