Yes sir! You can count on me! Wampus said after talking to the King.
Wampus had been summoned to see the King, he did not know why, but when the King calls you, you must come -- he could not imagine why anyone would not. The King told Wampus that in the ancient ruins there was a group of goblins. They had been living there for quite awhile and the King's men thought that they could just been traveling and had just stopped to rest for a couple of days. Well, it turned out that was not the case. The goblin number increased every day and farmers in the area complained more and more about trouble that the goblins were causing. The King said he could not stand by and do nothing.
He summoned Wampus to go and gather information about the goblins and see what they were up to along -- and if a chance got up to be able to assassinate the goblin leader, Wampus was not to hesitate.
Wampus left for the ruins as soon as he could and got there later that night. After sneaking around a little, he found the goblins hideout in a rather large cave in the ruins, but because of the time they were all asleep. It was all well and good though, for Wampus was quite tired himself. He left the cave entrance and found a very secluded camping spot and sleep with one eye open. He did not want his position to be compromised. He would begin his work in the morning.
