Title: Blood in the Sands
Description: <p> For Sealamin & Regis
Sanvaer - October 7, 2008 07:33 AM (GMT)
Sanvaer walked along the smooth stone roof of the palace. He was sent by the Mistress to kill a fat noble, and she told him that the task was asked by him through another noble. How cutthroat the court is. Literally, cutthroat. He was amazed at how easily it was for him to dodge the gazes of the idiotic guards, who were constantly prancing around, in pathetic bronze and linen armor, carrying around moronic scimitars, that he was sure that only one in ten could use well.
He darted around, and stole a large block of cheese, running. He was sure that even if one of the guards noticed him, he would only seem as a servant, rushing to deliver a prized cheese to the nobles. He went in several rooms, looking for the right one. He was given a name, Adelaf Kezzra. He talked to the other servants, and one, a woman, carrying a silver plate, piled high with sweets, and pastries, pointed him to an open room. He walked in, and took step behind the line of servants. Looking at the noble, he had to stifle a laugh. The fat man wouldn't last much longer, to look at him, the slightest movements made his entire body shake.
He was wearing an, unfortunately, vest, made out of the finest purple dyed silk, and wearing expensive breeches, made once again of the finest silk, and a remarkable turban, adorned with a jewel. Sanvaer loosened the dagger in its case, watching him take food from the plates, and passing them on to the next.

Regis had been watching the fat man eat for many an hour from the window when he saw another of the man's servants walk in. However, the stance and simply the look on his face said he had a very different mission then just feeding the fat oaf. Regis realized his exact motive when he began to prepare for an attack.
However, Regis was perfectly set to kill the man and he had no intentions of losing this one to some novice. Regis quickly casted his favorite spell, invisibility, and he slipped in threw the window right behind the man. His dagger whipped out and with a lunge, the obese nobleman was dead on the floor, his life blood flowing out. Regis had already began running when he felt his dagger go deep into the man's throat. However, when he reached the door he already found three guards waiting for him.
Regis looked back at the assassin signaling him to come and help. Before he could even mention anything to the man, the three warriors pressed in on him. Regis couldn't caste his other spell in the heat of battle and his invisibility had been undone when he had stabbed the nobleman. However, Regis still had a few tricks up his sleeve.
OOC: I figure we will just help each other out of the complex.
Sanvaer - October 12, 2008 11:30 PM (GMT)
He swore when he saw the nobleman die. He hadn't seen anyone walk up, nor had he seen an arrow, or bolt sticking out of his neck. No, the wound was a gash, like that from a dagger. When the man lost control of the invisibility spell, he began to laugh. He had aroused the attention of three of the "better" guards. Then, he gave a signal to help him out of the mess he got himself into. Didn't he see that the room had huge windows? That opened out into the street? And were guarded only by the pathetic excuses for guards that were standard for the castle?
He sighed, and flung the block of cheese at a guard, knocking his head into a wall, knocking him unconscious. He laughed again, and pulled out his dagger. He plunged it into the back of the second guard, dispatching him. "Two down, and the final one to remove." He laughed, as the guard made a feeble attempt to raise him sword, which left his groin open to attack. "You want to take him down? This is your only chance, because this idiot is just itching to be castrated." Looking down, the guard paled visibly, and stepped back, partially blocking his groin with his hand.

Regis loved cheese almost as much as he loved a good drink. Therefore, when the cheese went soaring into the gaurd's head he was rather disappointed. I could have easily eaten that for a good meal, Regis thought as he parried the two guards with his twin fighting knives. He hoped back looking to stop the third guard from rejoining the fight. With a backwards tumble, Regis replaced his two fighting knives in his belt. With his quick feet, he scurried backward while taking out his rather plain dagger.
As the man tried to pick himself up, he left himself with no defenses to even Regis' mediocre throw. The dagger slammed into his stomach taking him out of the fight. As the guard's slowly advanced, Regis went over his options. While the window he came in would be a worthy option, Regis was simply to small to take such a fall to the road bellow.
"Help me defeat them and I'll give you 15% of my bounty," Regis said with a smile. However, that smile was quickly taken away as the massive double handed sword smashed into the wall right next to Regis.
Sanvaer - October 17, 2008 09:05 PM (GMT)
Sanvaer laughed at Regis's suggestion to get fifteen percent of his bounty. "If I wanted your money, I would just take it. Bring a pack of Enforcers with me, we'd beat the living daylights out of you. Call it a credit extraction from an unwilling consumer. Anyway, what's taking you so long to kill these oafs?" He snuck up behind the two, and grinning as Regis once again asked for assisstance. "Again? I should charge you for saving your rear." He plunged his dagger into the left guard's unprotected armpit, laughing as the blood ran, no, poured out of the wound.
"Well? Can you take care of the final guard?" Sanvaer heard a whistling, and ducked, as a huge sword was lunged, sinking into the stone. Swearing loudly, he scrambled from out under the huge goliath, and swore once again when he saw the man. "Not an Elite!" Those things are impossible to kill!" He sighed, and took out his gladius, preparing for a kill.
Sealamin Joysword - October 17, 2008 09:12 PM (GMT)
Sealamin was waiting patiently round the corner. Sealamin had gotten in easily, but he should be out to escape soon. It should not take him this long unless he got into some serious trouble. Sealamin frowned at he waited, damming Regis in his head, he always messed things up.
A comotion from down the street and some of the city guard running up to the big house. Some shouting from outside and guards rushing to the bigger buildings meant that something had gone wrong for Regis. Sealamin would need to helpsoon.
"God dammit it Regis, dont get caught.." Sealamin muttered under his breath, his left hand holding the two horses steady.
Regis_Greenleaf - October 19, 2008 03:52 PM (GMT)
The other assassin was a skilled warrior, however Regis believed he would be able to defeat him in a one on one. Regis was finally piecing together his fighting techniques to perfectly coincide with his magical feats. Sadly, there was one major flaw; his pet kitten. As of today, he had left his kitten securely with Sealamin as to alleviate at least on problem.
Regis pinned the broadsword with one of his fighting knives and then attacked the open man with his other. Due to Regis' lack of skill in duel weapon fighting, the broadsword was able to swing back. Luckily, Regis was within the arc of the weapon so when it hit him it merely bounced of his armor. With two quick stabs, the man was dead and Regis was running.
"Follow me, my friend will help us escape," Regis called out to the other man as he dove through the door to find the street swarming with people. Escaping was never so easy.
Sanvaer - October 23, 2008 09:12 PM (GMT)
Sanvaer laughed as the man killed the Elite guard. "Now you finally kill well!" Sanvaer said, grinning. He watched him run out the door, and flee, laughing when he told him to follow. "Ha! You expect me to go out that way? The windows open out to the grand plaza!" He laughed again, and jumped down from the window. Landing on a hanging linen sheet, he jumped off of that, landing onto the ground, in a small clearing from the crowd of people. Looking around, and then back up, he saw two servants peering out of the windows, scanning the sorrounding rooftops, then looking down. When his eyes, and those of one of the slaves locked, the servant backed up, pulling the other away from the window.
Sanvaer walked into an adjacent alley, waiting for something else to happen.
((OOC: Unless you ran down to the first floor, you are still up on the third floor, and running out the door will push you into the guards. Not a good idea))
Regis_Greenleaf - October 24, 2008 12:21 AM (GMT)
Regis had ran straight out the door with out thinking, as usual. He had charged right into the midst of 4 guards who all immediately formed a semi-circle around him blocking off all of Regis' escapes except for back into the room behind him. The room wouldn't work for Regis as his height compared to the fall would most likely end in him breaking a couple bones and stranding him in the middle of a plaza. Regis would need to think of something fast or he was utterly screwed. All of a sudden, Regis remembered the various spells he had learned from the wandering mage he had meet in the Village of Kellen. These guards were about to get hit with a weird combination of magic.
Back-peddling into the room, Regis casted his first spell. It was rather simple and was extremely easy to cast so Regis had it off as the first to guards entered the room. The two guards began to scream as loud as humanly possible, reaching a tremendous crescendos. The two guards were focusing on saving their ears and their throats before they were worried on moving out of the way of the following two guards. While the screaming might alert more guards, Regis doubted the situation could get much worse.
Regis had secured himself enough time so he turned to the open window. Gazing at the dark alley across the plaza, Regis fell into a deep chant. He finished with a fury of hand movements. As his form was about to disappear, a guard was able to break free of his screaming friends and rush the halfing. The blade bursted into his side just as he disappeared. Regis landed lightly in the forsaken alleyway, heavily damaged but completly concealed by the boxes and other garbaged littered around.
Now to find Seala and get out of here!
Sealamin Joysword - October 28, 2008 06:39 PM (GMT)
An ear shattering scream ripped through the surround areas of the plaze. Sealamin was a mere 3 alleysways away, but it still buffeted his ear drums to the core, imagine how bad it would be if he was there? No doubt it had something to do with Regis, he had learnt some new spells recently, which could probably lead to more problems if used unwisely.
The first alleyway would soon be moved into via the guards, so Sealamin should check it quickly to see if anyone was there. Mounted the borrowed horse quickly, Claryus ringing free of his sheath and pushing the winds around him in the direction he wanted to go. Shouting to move, and the winds pushing fiercefully alongside the horses, Sealamin drove through the crowds with ease, yet still nearly fell of 4 times due to his lack of riding skills. Next time he would definately fly.
"Regis!" Sealamin shouted out as he entered the alleyway, and came face to face with some stranger, a rogue of some kind dressed in dark clothes, a masterwork short sword bloodied in his hands. "Who the hell are you and where the Love is Regis!" Sealamin roared at the stranger, Claryus in his hands as Sealamin dropped of the horse.
Sanvaer - November 1, 2008 11:39 AM (GMT)
Sanvaer gritted his teeth when he heard the loud scream. "Damn man." he growled, hands clapped over his ears. When the scream finally stopped, he was stopped by the sight of a man jumping down from a horse, yelling at him. "I am Sanvaer, Assassin of the Shadows." He wiped the sword off with a rag from the ground, first making sure to brush off the majority of the dirt. Tossing the rag onto the ground, and slid the sword back into its sheath, he said, "I don't know a Regis, but there was a man who was killing my quarry. Perhaps that is who you are looking for. "
He grinned, and said, "Oh come now, don't be so angry, come now, and sit among us drek. " He laughed, and raised his hands high.

Regis fled into the main street, his arms clutching at his wounded side. At first glance, it seemed to be a devastating blow but in truth it was just positioned so that every time Regis moved even the slightest amount, it bled uncontrollably. His bard's armor however helped to blend in the massive stain of blood that was on his side with it's already bright colors.
Moving down the street, Regis immediately noticed Sealamin Joysword standing at an intersection between this street and another back alley. Regis immediately sprinted for the man, overturning a few people and things on the way. As he reached Sealamin, Regis noticed that he was threatening the assassin that had been in the royals room up above. Regis came to a slow trot when he approached and tried to conceal his bleeding side with his arm.
"Good day Seala, I see you have meet my fellow assassin. He was trying to kill the same target but luckily I was the one who gained the kill," Regis said, puffing out his chest as he gloated about how he had gotten the killing strike on the fat man. Regis moved into his pouch to produce a bottle of straight vodka which he downed in a matter of seconds. After the act, Regis revealed his cut side.
"Vodka always helps me feel a little less of the sting from an enemies blade," chortled Regis who was already feeling the intoxicating vodka.
Sealamin Joysword - November 8, 2008 03:11 PM (GMT)
Sealamin spun round to see Regis walking into the alleyway. Relief rushed into him, but didnt remove his outer mask of anger. Regis had nearly messed things up, and this other assassin had seen it fine to leave without helping Regis. Something that really riled Sealamin up.
"Get on the horse Regis. The sooner we get out of here the better. We head straight out of the city to the outskirts, then I'll deal with your wound." Sealamin looked straight at the other assassin, a glare in his eyes, "consider yourself lucky my friend here is injured, otherwise I would have the time to gut your for leaving him there."
With that Sealamin hopped back on the horse, waiting for Regis to follow suit before they could escape the city.
((OOC: I'm sorry Sanvaer. I have changed my mind relating to the Mercenary guild, as I wish to take Sealamin along a different path. ))
