Title: Don't wish for good luck, you will get bad.
Description: [P] - ThousandStars

Midori didn't like being in cities or towns at all but he wasn't going to leave the town and find a place to rest it was already here. The sun was going to be going down in an hour and he couldn't see very well in the dark. He sat on the back of a wooden bench. Right on top of it he had plenty of room, he crossed his legs and leaned back slightly. He watched the bigger folk go about the last of there day. He was going to wait for most people to leave the streets before finding a place to sleep for the night. Possibly just someplace out of site but he didn't want anyone seeing him go there. He didn't want to be captured again, though he was already tired he would stay awake for a while longer. It couldn't hurt to do so, but he would have to wake up early in the morning. He was well use to that by now.

Sitting crossed legged, his put the palms of his hands on his knees supporting himself so he wouldn't lose balance and fall backwards. He kept his eyes on everyone in front of him, not really interested but just waiting for something to happen. He was hoping for something good to happen for him for once, but knew it wouldn't come.

ThousandStars - October 4, 2008 08:45 PM (GMT)
Katsumi yawned, as she walked slowly. She was tired. Not because she was exhausted, but because she was extremely bored and lonely. Nothing of interest caught her attention. She had spent her day wandering around, humming softly to herself as she watched everybody else bustling about all day, or dozing off in the middle of nowhere. On the bright side, she had gotten in some practice with her flute.

Before she realized it, the sky had began to grow darker, the sun soon to go into hiding once again. Not that she minded. She preferred the light of the moon rather than the bright burning light of the sun. It was her favorite time of the day to play her music and spend her day. She loved the night.

Katsumi stretched her arms above her and looked around more curiously now. She should probably search for somewhere to sleep later that night, but she didn't feel like it. She wouldn't be going to bed for a while anyways if she could find something for herself to do.

Katsumi spotted an empty bench, and swiftly made her way to it, humming a soft melody to herself. As she neared, her eyes moved to something that sat on the top edge of the bench. She tilted her head curiously as she neared it, her humming going lower until she just stopped.

Katsumi's eyes brightened, and she let out a small gasp. It was a fairy! She had never seen one up close before in real life. A huge grin appeared on her face, as she snuck up from behind it, cupping her hands, before she lowered her hands down in an attempt to catch it between them, not another thought as she did so.

Hriky - October 4, 2008 08:55 PM (GMT)
Midori had stopped paying attention to each individual around and just on the area himself. Now to look for some place to stay for the night, a tree or something might work out fell. He didn't pay attention to the Elf girl that was coming up behind him, even if he did notice she was coming right towards him he wouldn't expect what she would do. Only a moment later hands came down and gripped him between them. He was inside a fleshy prison now, not the first time he was held, but first time he could be remember being held from all sides at the same time. He had never been cupped like this before, he would have jumped but he didn't have room. He lashed out with one of his feet and kicked one of the hands that held him captive. What did this person want from him? Did she know that he was a living being just like her and not a bug to catch for asumment. He hated being treated like a toy, made him always feel uncomfortable and lower on the food chain that his kind was treated as nothing more then mere bugs. He had a feeling he wouldn't like this girl very much if she was going to keep him like this. He didn't have room to reach for his dagger in here ether, he would need that probably. "Hey! Let me go!" he shouted from his prison hoping she would hear him.

ThousandStars - October 4, 2008 09:09 PM (GMT)
Katsumi's grin grew as she successfully caught the fairy in her hands. It squirmed a bit, hitting her hand. Katsumi frowned. She probably should have thought before she went and caught the poor little thing. Still, she couldn't make herself lose her grip around the small creature. She was just too curious and excited over it.

"Hey! Let me go!"

Katsumi let out a small girlish squeak when she heard the tiny voice come from her hands. It surprised her when it suddenly talked to her, she had been so lost in her thoughts, excitement, and future plans about the fairy that it frightened her slightly. Her hands never moved though, and when she had got focus on real life she smiled once again. She bent down slightly, opening her hands open a bit, peeking in to see it.

"I'm sorry!" Katsumi said softly, but happily as she stared down at it with one eye. Hopefully it wouldn't stab her in the eye. She really did need her eye. "You're sooo cute!" Katsumi gushed happily, as she continued to look down at it. She wanted to hug it, but she was afraid it would try to escape if she let it out from her hands or that she would crush it. SHe didn't want that at all. "What's your name little fairy?" Katsumi asked curiously to distract her wanting to hug it.

Hriky - October 4, 2008 09:19 PM (GMT)
Midori felt nothing else happen around him after the small faint squeak after he spoke up. After a few moments a bit of light snuck into the darkness then it was shadowed over. She was looking at him, and apologized. If she was sorry why didn't she just let him go. The next thing she said almost answered that for him though it was obviously not directed at him but herself. She sounded very exicted to have caught him for some odd reason. Well it was obvious why she had caught him, because she was bigger, she could, and she wanted to.

He looked up at her and sat in her hands with his knees folded up. He just wanted to be let go, if she was going to keep him here he should hurt her someone. He couldn't really without his dagger and that would be hard to get in this grip. He gave her a look of annoyance, but it was more filled with curiousity at what she was planning. A moment later she asked his name, why should he answer? But now was a time to speak up and he would. "If you are sorry, but won't you let me go? Also why should I tell you my name, I enjoy your compliment about me a bit but yet you hold me here against my will, I guess." he said not very firmly but trying to sound like he was mad, he wasn't, just tired and didn't plan on sleeping in this Elf's hands.

ThousandStars - October 4, 2008 09:53 PM (GMT)
The little fairy looked up at her, it's gaze filled with slight annoyance and curiosity mixed together. She didn't mind though. She may not be annoyed, but she definately was curious. She did begin to feel slightly guilty, but her curiosity and excitement were stronger than her guilt.

If you are sorry, but won't you let me go? Also why should I tell you my name, I enjoy your compliment about me a bit but yet you hold me here against my will, I guess."

Katsumi blinked a few times, trying to think. He had a very good point, and she had to think of how to answer him back. She didn't want to let him go, he was just too cute! And from the way he sounded and said it, she was sure he would fly away as soon as the chance was provided for him. That would make her sad.

"You'll fly away from me if I let you go though! I would be very sad if you did that, Mr. Fairy! I would very much like to be your friend, and I want to know your name! I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours," Katsumi tried to bargain, but it sounded more like a pitiful pleading. "Don't you want to be my friend to?"

Katsumi lip quivered even though he didn't see it, and her eyes grew sad and pitiful, turning glossy from the tears that were sure to burst if he said no to her. He was just so cute and she wanted to be his friend. She wasn't sure what she would do if he crushed her feelings.

Hriky - October 4, 2008 10:02 PM (GMT)
Midori listened before turning away, he might not fly away if she asked him not to. Though now he had already almost everything he wanted to say. She almost looked like she was going to cry if he said no. He thought for a moment before turning back to her but not looking in her eye, he wouldn't be able to take that. "Fine, I will tell you my name I guess." he said with a short pause before continuing. "Midori be my name, now you said you would tell me your's though." he said trying to sound a bit cheerful, she didn't seem to mean any harm but he just wanted to be let go.

Before she could say anything else he continued to speak. "Well if you asked to be my friend without snatching me I would have most likely said yes, now I am not to sure. I will have to think about it, but only if you let me go and I promise I won't fly away." he said trying to smile but wasn't doing too well. He hoped she would accept that and let him go and he could have his freedom back. He wasn't sure about being her friend though, she had captured him and doesn't seem to want to let him go, really not the best thing to get on his good side. He waited for he reponse hoping she would let him go and he could have the time to think about it.

ThousandStars - October 4, 2008 10:24 PM (GMT)
The little fairy boy turned away, and she was afraid he would say no to her. Her eyes began to water slightly, her hands shaking ever so slightly as she prepared for rejection from him. He turned back to her, and she blinked to clear the tears from her eyes, sniffing once.

"Fine, I will tell you my name I guess. Midori be my name, now you said you would tell me your's though."

Katsumi's eyes brightened from the happiness she felt. Her lips curled into a big grin once again, and she felt like jumping with joy. He seemed slightly reluctant, but he had told her, which meant he didn't hate her. Even better, he wanted to know her name too, and she was happy to tell him, but he continued on before she could get a word in.

"Well if you asked to be my friend without snatching me I would have most likely said yes, now I am not to sure. I will have to think about it, but only if you let me go and I promise I won't fly away."

Katsumi's smile dropped slightly as he said he was unsure if he could be her friend now. She felt incredibly bad for capturing him, and now he said he might not be her friend. She wanted to be his friend really badly, and the only way to even convince him a little was to let him free from her hold. She was still sure he would try and fly away from her though.

"You really promise you won't try and fly away from me?" Katsumi asked worriedly, biting her lip as she considered letting him go. He seemed honest, and she didn't want to make him madder by keeping him longer. She sighed, and slowly opened her hands to let him fly out. If worse came to worse, she would just have to chase Midori. "My name is Katsumi by the way..." She said slowly, as she watched Midori carefully.

Hriky - October 4, 2008 10:35 PM (GMT)
"Yes, I really promise, I guess." he said with a nod as the hand was already releasing him. He was glad she had listened to him and not burst out crying. He wouldn't have been able to handle that at all, Fairy or not he was still a boy. He smiled in thanks but didn't move. His knees still folded as he sat on her palm. He didn't intend on leaving and he promised he wouldn't fly away. As long as she wasn't holding him against his will he was fine with it. But what if he did fly away, what would she do? Just something he had to ask.

"Thank you, Katsumi, I apperciate you letting me go a lot, I guess." he said after the nod but knew she probably only let him go so that he might become her friend. How could he really say no though? She really wanted to be his friend, or was just thinking she wanted to be his friend and wanted him as a pet. He looked down at his knees and hugged them in thought. It was a hard choice, but just saying yes to someone that had captured him like that.

"I'm sorry but I don't think I should." he said knowing she might only take him as a pet or something like that. He looked down at her hand as he said that, but so she wouldn't cry he said something else, he pasued for a half a minute. Not sure what to say.

"But I want to ask before I make my final desicion, what would you have done with me if I didn't talk at all?" he wasn't sure why he asked that, of course he could talk but now he had gotten himself curious and didn't want to make her sad.

ThousandStars - October 4, 2008 10:58 PM (GMT)
"Yes, I really promise, I guess."

Katsumi smiled, feeling that she could trust him enough. He didn’t even move out of her hands when she opened them up completely. Instead he smiled up at her, but he didn’t seem very comfortable and sat with his knees folded in her palm. It only confirmed he would stay with her and not fly away from her.

"Thank you, Katsumi, I appreciate you letting me go a lot, I guess."

Katsumi nodded, smiling softly, trying not to say anything that would make him scared or hate her so he would try to escape. He seemed to be in thought as he hugged his knees and said nothing for a few moments. She stared down into her hands at him hopefully, her eyes growing with anticipation of his answer.

"I'm sorry but I don't think I should."

Katsumi’s face dropped completely. Why wouldn’t he be her friend? She let him go, and she didn’t hurt him, or she hoped she hadn’t. But still he didn’t want to be her friend! She was becoming frustrated and sad at the same time. How could she make him her friend?

"But I want to ask before I make my final decision, what would you have done with me if I didn't talk at all?"

Katsumi tilted her head slightly. What an odd question he had asked her. She had never really thought about it. She had been told that fairies could talk, but never really thought about it when she saw him. She had been too busy making plans in her head when she had successfully caught him. She wasn’t sure he would like some of her plans, and was sure he would fly away as quickly as he could when she heard her plans. She would have scared herself had it not been her very own thoughts.

“I was going to play with you...” Katsumi said softly, looking away guiltily, before glancing back at him, and in a much softer voice continued. She left out her other ideas and just said the one that seemed the least peculiar. Not that it was very normal either, or so she had been told by many of her other friends. “And if you were mean to me...I was going to eat you...”

Hriky - October 4, 2008 11:08 PM (GMT)
Midori nodded sheepishly when she said she was going to play with him. He was to expect that, like a toy. He had seen other Fairies captured and used as toys and pets before. It made him mad to think of such a thing. He wasn't sure anymore if he should be her friend if that was her thoughts. But the next thing she said freaked him out, she would have eaten him if he was mean? That didn't seem very far, and he could only assume she would play with him anyways when he became her friend giving him the only option to get out of it was to try and leave only to get eaten. He just couldn't do it, he didn't trust her that much anymore. He couldn't move to get up though at the thought of being eaten.

"I'm really sorry but if you were planning on playing with me, another person, then eating me if I disagreed I don't think I could be your friend. Once again, I am really sorry." he said thinking if he should give her a second chance, he would wait a minute to see what she would say to him then offer her that second chance. He wasn't going to sit around for a half hour as she balled her eyes out over not being able to be his friend. Midori only waited with a glum face but didn't move yet, he was waiting for her to say something or just start crying.

ThousandStars - October 4, 2008 11:27 PM (GMT)
"I'm really sorry but if you were planning on playing with me, another person, then eating me if I disagreed I don't think I could be your friend. Once again, I am really sorry."

Katsumi blinked, slightly confused. She hadn’t meant it like that at all. Well, maybe the eating part was close to what she had meant, but that was pretty hard thing to confuse either way. She tilted her head slightly, studying the fairy boy, her lips curved into a sort of confused frown before she began to speak again. “Oh! That’s not what I meant at all! I meant I wanted to play with you...not like I would with a doll but like you would with a friend. Like we would play catch! Except that wouldn’t be very smart...”

Katsumi stopped for a second to watch an image in her head of Midori trying to catch a ball, that would crush him. It would probably be bigger than the poor fairy. That would definately not be a smart game to play. She shook her head to rid herself of the image and continued. “I might try and dress you up...but I would let you do the same to me if you could!” Katsumi paused once again and blushed at how odd that seemed. Once again she shook her head. “And I would never think of eating you unless you made me cry! But it wouldn’t be my fault...I just don’t know what I’d do if I was crying really hard. Sometimes its hard for me to control myself when I'm sad..”

Katsumi looked down at the fairy once again and then down to the ground. She was sure he would leave now, and that saddened her deeply. She really didn’t want to hurt him or make him go away. “I wouldn’t hurt you though on purpose!” Katsumi repeated to him, smiling slightly.

Hriky - October 4, 2008 11:53 PM (GMT)
Midori quietly laughed to himself at playing catch, it would be easier to use him as a ball then for him to catch one. Though he would not agree to that in anyway. He allowed himself a small smile as she continued on. She talked like she might burst into tears at any moment. She then shook her head as if she was clearing a thought away. He only wished he knew what she was thinking about, it would be very helpful if he could read minds or something like that. He dozed off for a moment thinking about it before she started talking again.

He snapped his attention back to Katsumi and listened, dress him up, that sounds pretty doll like to him, but before he could even ask about it, he was going to ask in a joking manner most likely when she talked about eating him. She wouldn't unless he made her sad. That was a bit dangerous even if they were friends. He would tell her about that in a moment after she had finished. She wouldn't hurt him on perpose., she seemed very sure of that.

He smiled at her for a second before he spoke. "I would really like to be your friend, hate to decline since the beginning, it is just that even if we are friends, what if I accidently make you sad? Then I might not be seen ever again. I don't want to take that risk, sorry. I can be your friend though, but not stay around." he said thinking about it himself, accidently saying the wrong thing and making her sad would give him a one way ticket to her stomach. He didn't really enjoy the idea.

ThousandStars - October 5, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)
"I would really like to be your friend, hate to decline since the beginning, it is just that even if we are friends, what if I accidently make you sad? Then I might not be seen ever again. I don't want to take that risk, sorry. I can be your friend though, but not stay around."

Katsumi frowned, her lower lip sticking out in a pout. They wouldn’t be much of friends if he was never around, and she didn’t want him to go. She had just met him. She was beginning to feel like he didn’t even want to be friends, but instead run away from her. She didn’t like that at all. It hurt her feelings, and she didn’t want to agree. She refused to.

“I don’t want you to go. I want you to stay with me always so we can play together, and travel around. “ Katsumi said stubbornly. She was tired of always being alone whenever she travelled and missed being able to talk to someone. As mean, and crazy as it may seem to some, she wasn’t going to let her once chance at a friend go away. She would catch him if she had to. Luckily she had a big enough jar with her for him to fit in if it came down to that.

“Won’t you stay with me, Midori?” Katsumi asked him again softly, giving him one last chance. Afraid he would try and fly away not, she prepared for closing her hands at any sign of him flying away. “I definately won’t hurt you! We will have lots of fun!”

Hriky - October 5, 2008 12:18 AM (GMT)
Midori didn't know what to do anymore, he didn't want to leave her but he had to for his own safety. He looked away from her and thought about it much harder. If he stayed with her he would have to follow her around anyways, he liked to move on his own at his own pace. He didn't want to make her sad, but he wanted to live a bit more. He couldn't just sit around and be a follower to her. He wouldn't have that, no matter how much he wanted to stay and be her friend.

"Sorry." he said quietly as he moved quickly, he was much faster then her and she wouldn't be able to catch him if he flew. He was faster then most other fairies when he compared them all. But he put his hands out in front of him as he almost ran into the bench. It was curved at the top and he was under the curve, this was becoming difficult. He was in the senter of behind the bench and looked down, a stone base, he can't fly under it. He turned his back to it and looked at Katsumi. He tried to run and he couldn't go anywhere without being caught. She could cut off all of his paths very easily. But he had tried to run, what would she do with him now? Hopefully she wouldn't be sad enough because of that. He closed his eyes waiting for her to grab him or something.

ThousandStars - October 5, 2008 12:33 AM (GMT)
“Sorry.”
Katsumi tried to close her hands fast enough as he began to escape, but she failed. He was quick, and Katsumi feared she wouldn’t be able to catch him before he would get away. He was definately smaller and faster than her, so it made it very difficult for her to catch him. She would have given up, except Midori messed up and almost flew into the bench.

He was trapped between her and the bench. Anyway he could go, Katsumi was sure she could block his way anyways and then catch him. She smiled slightly, even though she would have rathered he just be her friend instead of having to catch him and force him to be with her. Now, he just hovered there and stared up at her. He was so cute, and it seemed a waste to eat him.

Katsumi leaned down slighty, and grabbed him gently with one hand. With her other hand she pulled out the small jar that was held in the bag she carried on her right shoulder. She looked at Midori sadly, and began to speak. “Im sorry for this...” Katsumi spoke softly, as she slowly opened the jar with one hand, and dropped the lid. She moved her hand with the fairy boy over the jar. He would definately fit in .

Gently, Katsumi put her fist with Midori in the jar, and let go before retracting her hand quickly, and covering the opening of the jar as she picked up the lid and screwed it back on the jar tightly. “I really am sorry, but I don’t want you to leave me. You understand right? Even if you don’t like it, which Im sure you don’t...” Katsumi smiled slightly, before putting the jar on the ground. “I wouldn’t go near the lid for a second.

Katsumi pulled the dagger from her side, and with a swift movements, began to stab very small holes into the lid for breathing holes. When she had finished doing so, she put her dagger back. Hopefully soon he would grow to want to be with her and she wouldn’t need to keep him in a jar like a pet or bug. She really did feel guilty.

Hriky - October 5, 2008 12:57 AM (GMT)
Midori felt like he was lifted off of the ground when he was grabbed. Not tightly but he didn't try to run. She looked a bit sad but not crying sad. He only opened his eyes for a second before closing them again, she said she was sorry for this, Katsumi wasn't going to let him leave, was she? It didn't appear so as he was placed inside of a car. Only then did he open his eyes as he was released, now he was her pet for sure, a captive. He was pretty sure this ment she wasn't going to be his friend but more of owner.

Once the lid was on he looked up at her from behind the glass. She was definitly keeping him against his own will, was she that desperate for a friend? If he knew it was this bad he wouldn't have tried to run. He sat on the button of the jar quietly and nervus as holes were poked in the top, he would be kept for sure now. He was trying to wonder if being her food or trapped in a jar by her was worse. He couldn't pick which one was. He hated jars that kept him from leaving. He had nothing to live for anymore besides to get out.

"Fine, I will be your friend and never leave, just let me out please." he said sounding a little paniced, he didn't expect her to believe him but it was worth a shot. He didn't want to be in here at all, he also feared making her sad from being around her, jar and then belly, both of which he wanted to avoid as much as he could.

ThousandStars - October 5, 2008 01:36 AM (GMT)
"Fine, I will be your friend and never leave, just let me out please."

He sounded panicky, as he sat at the bottom of the jar. She tilted her head in habit, and studied his small features. He looked like he didn’t like being in the jar, but who would? Even she wouldn’t, even more so then him. It made her sad and even more guilty, but still she couldn’t believe he wouldn’t try and fly away from her again. He definately would.

“I’m sorry, but I don’t believe that. I know you’ll try to run away from me again, and I don’t want to risk it.” Katsumi said, frowning down at the little fairy boy. She smiled slightly, before continuing. “But, I promise to take care of you as best as I can! I really do! Don’t you want to be with me?”

Katsumi looked through the center of the jar at him as she questioned him softly, trying to smile slightly for him, as she poked the jar twice, testing how thick the glass was. It was rather thick and wouldn't break if she by chance dropped it on the ground. Not that she would ever let that happen.

Hriky - October 5, 2008 01:48 AM (GMT)
Midori knew she wouldn't believe him but he still had to try. He didn't want to be her captive at all and knew what he had to risk right now to get out of it. He sat there still worried if he should say this. He nodded at her first statement about taking care of him but spoke up when she mentioned being with her. "I did really want to stay with you, but not anymore. Right now I would rather not be anywhere near you." he said firmly turning away from her knowing this might upset her. It wasn't exactly the truth, he still wanted to be her friend if she will only let him go, but if she keeps him in here he will really come to dislike her, he didn't want to be owned. He ignored the two taps on the glass waiting for her to say something or if she will become sad, if she did she might try to eat him and then he could try and escape, the only problem if that he failed to get away he wouldn't like where he was going to end up. She most likely would cry because she was about to from him mentioning that he might not be her friend. He hoped he didn't just make the wrong choice. "I'm sorry but if this is how you are going to treat someone you want to be friends with, keeping them prisoner, I wouldn't want to be friends with you then." he said meaning that, but still wanting to be friends with her, she obviously did this just to be his friend.

ThousandStars - October 5, 2008 09:05 PM (GMT)
”I did really want to stay with you, but not anymore. Right now I would rather not be anywhere near you."

Katsumi’s frown grew larger as he spoke. He turned his tiny body away from her and her mouth opened with surprise at his actions. She quickly closed it, and in return stared at him, hoping he would turn back and say he hadn’t meant any of what he had said to her. Well she liked that he had wanted to be with her before.

"I'm sorry but if this is how you are going to treat someone you want to be friends with, keeping them prisoner, I wouldn't want to be friends with you then."

Katsumi’s eyes widened. It was like he kept taking little tiny swords and jabbing them into her heart repeatedly. He was describing her like a jerk, like a monster. She hated it, and it made her feel more guilty than she had ever before. It was pretty much like telling her he would never ever be her friend. He could lie to her and say if she released him he would be her friend, but she would never believe it, not now.

“I said I was sorry…” Katsumi mumbled. She had promised she wouldn’t hurt the little fairy boy, and she intended on keeping her promise to him. She had to, even if she was angry or hurt by his words. “I didn’t want to keep you in the jar…but you flew away from me! I had to do it. And now Im afraid if I do you will get away from me this time. Now, because I can’t trust you, I have to keep you inside my jar…”

Katsumi frowned down at the fairy boy. It was his own fault, not hers. She had tried to be nice, right? She had only wanted to be friends, and now she would have to treat him like a puppy, except he would be stuck in a jar. It was sort of the same thing though. She would rather have him play with her willingly as friends, but it seemed it wasn’t going to be that way.

“Maybe you’ll grow to not be so angry at me. I’m sure after you get to know me, we’ll be great friends.” Katsumi said cheerily, her face brightening as her smile returned once again. She turned slightly to point to her flute that was tied to the side of her leg, wrapped in cloth before continueing. “I can play my flute too, and Im actually pretty good! Ill show you sometime, and you’ll love it so much you’ll want to stay with me forever.” Katsumi said confidently, as she stared at the fairy boy intently now.

Hriky - October 5, 2008 09:21 PM (GMT)
His plan didn't go according to plan, well now he was stuck in this jar until she could trust him enough. He had another idea, he could only relax now. He turned back to her looking with concern, she was sure confident to get him to be her friend. He felt bad for what he said now and couldn't help it any longer, he looked at the ground below him and waited for her to possible take the jar and for her to move on. He doubted she would carry the jar in her hands all the time and he would be kept in her bag. He would have to first apologize. "Ok, I am sorry for saying that to you, I guess" he said unable to look at her when he said that, he sat with his legs slightly crossed but barely and his hands folded in the middle on the glass floor of the jar, twiddling his thumbs. How was he going to say this?

"I only said that to get you mad enough for you to try and eat me if you would, so that..." he said thinking about his escape plan, he knew how he was going to get out when she tried to get him out of the jar. He wasn't going to tell her that, she wouldn't go with his next idea if he did. "... so that yeah.." he said feeling guilty for trying to make her feel bad just so he could get away. He still wanted to get out of the jar.

"I have another suggest though, I promise I will stay with you if you let me go but I doubt you will trust me anymore though. So if you have any string you would tie me to you or something. I don't know I just want to get out of this jar, please." he said looking up at her for once in a few minutes, he wondered if she would believe that.

ThousandStars - October 5, 2008 09:40 PM (GMT)
"Ok, I am sorry for saying that to you, I guess"

Midori refused to look at her still, and it made her smile lose some of its confidence. She had been taught by her mother when she was younger that you could tell if someone was lying or not by their actions, especially from their eyes, and if they would look at you or not. Which is why she didn’t believe he was actually sorry. She was sure he didn’t mean it, but she said nothing, as she stood up straight, holding the jar in between her hands as she tilted her head and stared at it. She would hate to be in the jar.

"I only said that to get you mad enough for you to try and eat me if you would, so that...... so that yeah.."

Katsumi blinked. He had wanted to be eaten? She had never known anybody who wanted such a thing. She had thought he hadn’t wanted to be eaten earlier, and seemed rather…scared. It didn’t seem right. It was odd, and it bugged her. Maybe he thought he could fly away when he got out or she opened it. She shook her head lightly, clearing the thoughts from her head. She shouldn’t think like that or she would become angry.

"I have another suggest though, I promise I will stay with you if you let me go but I doubt you will trust me anymore though. So if you have any string you would tie me to you or something. I don't know I just want to get out of this jar, please."

Katsumi studied his face as he finally turned to look up at her. It seemed like a smart plan, but it seemed sort of fishy. He had wanted to leave earlier, and even more so when she wouldn’t let him out of the jar. He had said they couldn’t be friends now. It made her confused, very confused. “I’m not too sure…”

With the jar still in her hands, Katsumi began to walk, focusing ahead of her as she thought about it. She glanced down every now and then as she thought. Why would he rather be held by string, then in a jar? They both seemed pretty crappy to her, and he made it obvious he didn’t like being treated like some sort of animal or pet.

Katsumi stopped dead as it occurred to her. String was easy to cut through, very easy. It couldn’t be that he planned to tear it and then fly away, right? That wouldn’t be very nice at all. He would crush her feelings. Katsumi’s face went blank, and in a rather dead tone of voice, she finally answered him. “I have no string.”

Hriky - October 5, 2008 10:07 PM (GMT)
Midori desided he should rest now since she was walking. He waited for her to say something about it, this all could have been avoided if she had asked to be friends in the first place instead of catching him like a butterfly. He leaned against the jar facing towards Katsumi. He should at least get to know her better for now, he only wanted out of the jar. He was going to be here for a while if she said no to that, or she didn't have any string. Must to his fear, she didn't have any. He was able to calm himself and relax a little.

He sighed at the thought of being stuck in this jar, he would have to live with it, nothing he would say would get him out of there anytime soon. Now he felt the dread of night crawl upon him, he was tired and all of this didn't help, he was supposing to be finding a spot to sleep right now, he guessed that this would be the place, stuck in a jar held by an over obessesive Elf. "Ok, I know you might want to talk a bit now but I am very tired and hope you don't mind if I fall asleep, do you?" he said waiting for an answer before he actually fell asleep, he was hoping she wouldn't start like telling him to stay up with her or something.

ThousandStars - October 5, 2008 10:31 PM (GMT)
Ok, I know you might want to talk a bit now but I am very tired and hope you don't mind if I fall asleep, do you?"

Katsumi looked down at the little fairy boy. He did look rather tired now that she got a closer look at him. She didn't want him to stay up with her and then fall from lack of sleep. Most people weren't up most of the night like her, so she couldn't expect the poor thing to stay up and keep her company, especially not after she forced him into a jar.

"It's okay, go ahead and fall asleep." Katsumi said gently, as she began to walk again. She paused though, and put the jar down, as she bent down, and dug through her bag. Soon she produced a handkerchief and opened the jar quickly, slipping it in before closing it once again. She did it as quickly as possible so Midori wouldn't have a chance to escape.

"You can use that as a blanket. I dun use it, so its clean." Katsumi said, smiling gently down at the fairy boy, before picking the jar back up. She was extremely happy at the moment, and would definitely not be able to sleep until she killed off some of her energy. So, without another word, she continued walking on for a bit.

Soon, she reached the edge of the town, and made her way to a nearby tree. The lights were fewer out here, and most of the light now came from the moon that had appeared after meeting Midori and walking through the town. She grinned up at the moon, before placing the jar gently on the ground and then plopping down herself.

Katsumi sat there for a few moments, before instinctively grabbing her flute. She unwrapped the string and cloth from around it carefully, before placing her fingers in the correct spot, and bringing the flute to her lips. Soon, a soft and slow melody filled the air around her. Katsumi closed her eyes as she played her music, careful not to make it too loud or upbeat that it would scare or awaken Midori.

Hriky - October 5, 2008 11:05 PM (GMT)
Midori was about to close his eyes when the jar was set on the ground, a hankercheif was thrown inside. He rarely got a chance to sleep with a blanket, he usually slept in the open night air, this would be a change. He gripped it, he didn't even bother to try and escape because she would ether clamp him with the cover by accident or catch him with her hand if he did. The hankercheif was much larger then he was and he would he able to wrap himself in it. He wasn't going to be use to this at all. He assumed the glass jar would be warmer then the outside during the night and now he had a blanket.

He pulled it up to him and over him, he knew how to use one at least. Lying down on the glass in the center he tried to settle to the movements of her walking and not be disturbed by it, it didn't take long. Soon he was asleep and didn't even notice that he had stopped moving or that there was music playing. He could get into a deep sleep once in a while and now was one of those times. He could only wait for ever how long Katsumi was going to keep him in this jar, wasn't much of a friendship if he was being held against his own will. He had a very weird dream that didn't even involve being alive, he couldn't explain it if he wanted to.

ThousandStars - October 6, 2008 12:45 AM (GMT)
Katsumi played for a while longer, moving her head only slightly as she did, not bothering to open them. She always got so into her music once she played, that she never paid any attention to her surroundings. It was sort of dangerous, but she tended to play where noone was around, or too many people were around that she could feel safe. She wasn’t totally clueless when she played either, she just wasn’t as aware as usual.

After a while, she slowly put her flute down, listening to the last of the musical notes that hung in the air before it became once again silent. She took a deep breath, before letting it out ever so slowly, a small smile on her lips. She always felt so at peace when she finished playing. She almost felt like falling asleep at the moment, but then she spotted the jar and rememberd the fairy boy.

Katsumi tilted her head, and moved towards the jar carefully, and began to open the lid as slowly and silently as she could. She steadied it too so that it wouldn’t shake and wake him up. So far she seemed to do good, and she lifted the lid, before ever so slowly lowering her hand into the jar. She slipped her hand slowly under him, and picked him up, gripping him lightly. She turned him slowly, hoping he would stay asleep as she did so, but held him tight enough that she would know if he tried to go away.

Katsumi’s eyes widened when she studied his wings closer, and without thought of him flying away, gently placed him on her outstretched legs. She tilted her head out of habit, as she grabbed his wings between her thumb and index finger. She moved them slightly, forgetting not to wake him up. She tugged on his wings, curious to how durable they were, when she stopped, sure she had heard a ripping sound.

Hriky - October 7, 2008 06:45 PM (GMT)
Midori was sleeping still as he was moved, he didn't notice be picked up or turned. The blanket fell from him and he barely noticed. He felt different but his mind or senses didn't pick any of this up. He was put down again shortly after and didn't notice he was being touched on his wings, not at first anyway. After a moment pain rang through out his entire body, his eyes opened with a bolt and a scream of pain shot from his throat. He rolled off of Katsumi's legs and onto the ground below. It lasted only a minute but the pain was still there, throbbing at his back. It took him a moment to realize what had happened, he couldn't feel his wings anymore. He was out of the jar was he was laying on Katsumi's lap a second ago. If he wasn't in this pain he would have been happy to be out of the jar.

The pain would subside later but if it had hurt it had ripped from the skin, he had only felt half of this pain before. He had lost one wing before but not both. He scanned up and down Katsumi and saw pieces of his wings in her hands. He wasn't going to think it was her but it was, she had ripped his wings off. He was only able to sit up as his eyes watered from the pain, then from sadness. Why didn't he just fly away earlier when he had the chance, now he wouldn't be able to. Was he to stay with her now, he was willing to forgive her for the jar slightly but now he didn't think he would be able to at all. He would have to walk if he was going to go anywhere. One wing was bad enough a long time about but both now was hard to believe.

Sitting up he didn't bother to stand but he moved away from her a bit like he would try and run. What would she do next? He didn't want to stay with her anymore though he might have to. She wouldn't let him leave and he couldn't get away now, and being alone on the ground was not something he planned on doing, well now he had a reason to not be kept in a jar. But was it safer to be on the ground or with her? He wasn't going to think about it much as he continued to move away from her, pulling himself along the ground without standing up. He was in too much pain to walk right now, having his wings torn off hurt more then he thought it would.

ThousandStars - October 12, 2008 02:27 AM (GMT)
Katsumi’s eyes widened in complete horror as she realized what she had done. It had been a complete and horrible accident, and she had honestly not meant to do it. She sucked in her breath letting out a gasping like sound, as she dropped the two lifeless parts of the fairy boy. She had ripped off his wings.

Katsumi quickly covered her ears quickly as a shrill scream of agony filled the still air and rang through her ears. She closed her eyes tightly, as the pain of the scream and guilt of what she had done filled her head. She hardly noticed as the agonized fairy boy rolled off of her lap. She soon opened her eyes, tears beginning to form. She picked up the wings she had dropped and stared at them dazed and confused. How could she have done something so cruel and horrible to him?

Katsumi’s eyes moved from the wings slowly, towards the fairy boy. She didn’t notice at first, but after she began to focus on him more, and had blinked the few tears that had formed out of her eyes, she noticed it. He was slowly, but surely moving away from her. She kept on managing to do things to make him want to run from her. She didn’t meant o do any of it, but it seemed he thought that she was doing it all on purpose. She didn’t want him to think that of her. She wasn’t some sort of monster.

“I- I didn’t mean to! It was an accident! I thought they were so pretty and I just wanted to feel them...I didn’t mean to..” Katsumi trailed off as she looked at the wings in her hands once again. He didn’t seem to show signs of stopping, so she put the wings into the jar, and on her hands and knees began to move towards the fairy boy.

“Let me help you! I can bandage your back! They’ll grow back right? Its not permanent right!? I can fix this, I swear!” Katsumi said hurriedly and in a high pitched voice as she made her way towards him. It didn’t take long until she could reach him, and when she did, she reached out to grab tightly in her two hands, repeatedly saying sorry, and mumbling softly promises of helping him.

Hriky - October 12, 2008 03:21 AM (GMT)
Midori tried to not listen to her, but he heard every word she said very clearly. After she kept moving closer to him he decided he should stop trying to get away. Tears were streaking down his cheeks from the thought of not being able to fly for a month or so. He sat there crying as she went to pick him up, he had stopped moving and let her grab him easily. She kept apologizing as she gripped him tightly, he wanted to just fly away. He held still as he continued to quietly cry before speaking up to answer her.

"No, they won't grow back, I guess." he said lying to her through her hands, if she was going to keep him even in this situation he wouldn't give her the truth. He wanted to wipe the tears off of his face but he was pinned down in her hand. He squirmed a bit trying to get out from his prison, or maybe just an opening. He couldn't fly away now and wasn't going to try and get away unless he completely had to. It would be too much effort and futile right now, unless he did it while she was completely asleep. He wouldn't want to go running around on the ground though, so he is stuck with her until he can find a better way to get away from her, or until she lets him go. Estimated time for release: how long did Elves live again?

"You can calm down about it, I guess." he said in a depressed sounding tone but like he was forgiving her, he was thinking about that still and wondering why he shouldn't? She only wanted to keep him like a pet, then she ripped his wings off, what else could so do to him? "But a bandage would be appericated a lot, I guess." he said still sounding depressed and hoping she can hear him over her apologize and through her hand.

ThousandStars - October 12, 2008 10:35 PM (GMT)
Katsumi listened lifelessly now as she heard the almost unaudible sound of the fairy boy. He said nothing, but instead sobbed and cried quietly to himself, hardly bothering to even escape from her grip like he usually did. Was he in that much pain from the loss of his wings? Was it painful both physically and mentally for him? His wings had definitely been important to him and now they were gone.

"No, they won't grow back, I guess."

Katsumi’s eyes grew gigantic and she choked on the air as she sucked it in. She completely stopped breathing, her body motionless, as she sat there on her knees. Anyone who saw her may have even thought she was a statue. She had done something horribly wrong, and she didn’t know what to do. It wasn’t fair to him that because of her mistake he would never again be able to fly around and be free. He would always be in danger when he was alone, walking on the ground where no one would see his tiny body, and then crush him! It was all her fault!

"You can calm down about it, I guess.”

Katsumi looked down at him. Calm down? She had just ripped his wings from his back, and he was crying before, and still he looked to be in pain. There was no way she could just calm down. That was like he had gone and ripped her arms off. For her, her music was everything, and she needed her hands to play her flute. Surely it was the same for him who was used to being able to fly wherever he pleased. So he just expected her to calm down?

"But a bandage would be appreciated a lot, I guess."

Katsumi quickly placed him down, trusting he wouldn’t try to run at this point. She swung her bag in front of her, and rummaged through it in search of a roll of bandages she carried with her for emergencies. She unravelled some of it, and putting some of the ointments she had with her on it. Before he could mutter a complaint, Katsumi expertly managed to put the bandage around him. She had to rip the bandage small enough to use on him too though, but it was no problem.

“I don’t know how to make it up to you...” Katsumi sobbed to herself as she looked at the wingless fairy. He just looked like an extremely tiny person now, not a fairy. It made her depressed to know it was all her fault.

Katsumi looked down, and stared blankly at her legs and arms, as she wondered what she could ever do to make it all up to him. Was there even anything she could possibly do? What could possibly make up for ripping a part of him off him? As she sat there for a few moments thinking, her eyes slightly widened from realization. She had thought it earlier, and it only seemed fair. She had to admit she was scared and didn’t want to do it, but what else could she do?

“To make it up to you I’ll cut off my own arm...” Katsumi said slowly, before suddenly making a swift and quick movement to grab her dagger from her right leg, where it was strapped to the outside of her thigh. She quickly positioned it to below her shoulder, the blade close to her skin. She brought it closer, and made a small slicing across her arm. Her blood began to trickle through the small cut, before she got ready to make an even deeper cut next.

Hriky - October 14, 2008 04:03 PM (GMT)
Midori was quick to stand still when he was placed on the ground. When Katsumi brought her bag in front of her and looked through it he could only wait. When she started to put a bandage around he quickly made it as easy for her as he could moving his arms out of the way and not moving. Would have helped if he took his shirt off first before she put the bandages on him, at least they would be under his shirt then. He had two reasons for wanting them anyway, it would hide his wings growing back and stop it from bleeding if the wound opened anymore. He was going to hate this month for sure, and having it to spend it with her was ether going to be a lot of fun or pure hell. Hopefully it was the first one.

He didn't answer her at first when she said she didn't know how to make it up to him. He knew how but wasn't sure how to say it without sounding like he wanted to stay with her. From all the events that happened in the past hour or so he wanted to get away from her. He looked up at her and she was crying, she was very sorry for it apparently. He wiped his old tears away that he hadn't done so yet. "Well..." he started to say before she said she would cut her own arm off. He was shocked that she would do that, she played a musical instrument and needed that for it. He twitched a bit when she took out her dagger.

Moving from his spot, he quickly jumped onto her arm and climbed up it. "No, don't!" he shouted, he didn't want her to cut her arm off, and she would be mad when she saw that his wings had grown back. She can't grow an arm back, and she would need it. From her arm he was sure she noticed him but he slipped and fell onto her lap from there. He hated not being able to fly. He sat up and looked up at her with concern written all over his face. He didn't want someone losing their arm for his lie, but he was just showing he didn't want her to lose her arm. "You don't have to." he said quietly but audio enough range. He looked away from her and to the ground to her side. He wouldn't be able to handle it if she started to cry again, for joy or sadness.

Quickly after he turned back to her forcing a small smile and began to talk quickly getting his point across. "All you have to do to make it up to me is to never put me in a jar again and make sure you don't leave me around to get stepped on. With that said he signed away his fate to be stuck with her for the next month or so.

ThousandStars - October 17, 2008 05:04 PM (GMT)
Katsumi ignored his first tiny shouts of not cutting her arm off. He had climbed up her arm, but without much to grip, he lost his balance and spot, and slid down her arm and onto her lap. He looked up at her with concern and worry, and repeated she didn’t have to, but she just shook her head rapidly, tears flying away from her as she did so.

"All you have to do to make it up to me is to never put me in a jar again and make sure you don't leave me around to get stepped on.”

“That’s not enough! You’ll always have the wish to fly for the rest of your life, and whose fault is it that you can never again fly? Mine! It’s only fair I go ahead and cut my arm off and never play my flute again!” Katsumi said in a shrilly voice, filled with pauses for holding back as much tears as she could. Still, the tears streamed down her face. She took a deep breath, and without breathing out, pulled her arm back slightly. She then brought it down, slicing her arm once again.

“I...I...I can’t do it!” Katsumi cried as she dropped the dagger to the ground, and her arms lay limply beside her. Her shoulder bled and sting slightly, but she paid no attention to it, as the tears streamed down her face. She looked down at Midori, her face sorrowful. “I know I said I would, but I just can’t! I’m a horrible person! I really am a monster!”

”I’m going to have to take care of you and that’s all! I’m sorry, so sorry! I’ll pray and pray someone goes and cuts my arm off! Or maybe a hungry beast will come and tear it off with its jaws!” Katsumi said, sadly with a small side of hope. She didn’t care, but she couldn’t do it herself. It was her own arm after all! How could she just go and cut it off? If Midori could, she would even let him rip her arm off!

Katsumi grabbed Midori slowly, and hugged him as she sobbed and repeatedly said sorry to him, being sure not to crush his tiny little body as she did so. She was a cruel person. She couldn’t even do much to make it up to him, and she would forever and ever regret what she had done to him. It would haunt her for the rest of her life!

Hriky - October 18, 2008 09:53 PM (GMT)
Midori leaned back when she shook her head. She wasn't going to stop, he closed his eyes so he didn't have to watch as she went to cut herself again. Then the dagger fell to the ground and she was crying again. She wasn't going to do it at least. He was releaved that he wouldn't have to resort to making it up to her as best as he could for his lie making her cut off her own arm. He opened his eyes a moment after and looked up at her still looking worried. Katsumi was going to be depressed about it for a while now and won't stop apologizing for sure. "It's ok, I forgive you." he whispered to her not expecting her to hear it over her sobbing.

He was sure the Elf didn't hear him when she kept on going about having something rip her arm off of her. It wasn't nessicary anymore, he had forgiven her. He would have to say it again to make her calm down, if it would even work. He didn't attempt to move as her hands came around him and he was embraced in a hug. He let her hug him for a minute before speaking up over her sorries. "It is ok, I forgive you." he said loud enough for her to hear him before he continued on about telling her the truth. It would be bad if he didn't tell her now or she continued to cut her arm off. "You don't have to cut your arm off. Your arm won't grow back, my wings will." he said not looking up at her directly at first then he did a moment after and continued. "I'm sorry because I lied to you." he said caringly and breathed in deeply at first before closing his eyes.

After another minute he continued on after letting out the air he forgot to breath out a minute ago. "To make up for my lie, is there anything you want from me? If there is something I can do for you I will do it for you, anything at all. I promise." he said meaning that, expecting her to say something like 'never want to leave me' or to listen to her play the flute always. He didn't know what he would say but many guesses came to mind. He only went this far with it because she almost cut her arm off because of his lie.

ThousandStars - October 20, 2008 12:57 AM (GMT)
"It is ok, I forgive you."

Katsumi looked down at the fairy boy. How could he forgive her so easily? She may suddenly change her mind and then abandon him somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Then what would he do with himself? He would be all alone and then attacked by some savage dog or beast that came from the shadows of the night! He wouldn’t last out in the world alone, and for all he knew that’s what she would do to him!

"You don't have to cut your arm off. Your arm won't grow back, my wings will.

Katsumi blinked a few times. She lost her grip on Midori, and her arms dropped limply to her side as she processed the words. She had heard him wrong, right? She wished she did, but at the same time she didn’t. She had almost cut her own arm off because he had told her they wouldn’t earlier! But...yet...his wings would grow back! Her eyes widened, and a small smile formed on her lips. Her smile faded though and turned to a grimace as she remembered she had fallen for the lie.

"I'm sorry because I lied to you."

Katsumi looked down at him. Her own arm. What would he have done had she had the nerve to cut her own arm off and had? Continued with the lie, until, POOF, he had wings. Maybe tell her some ridiculous story that it was a miracle or that he had no clue they would grow back? As for her, she would be armless, for it was known that an arm doesn’t exactly just grow back after some time. It was gone, never to be the same.

"To make up for my lie, is there anything you want from me? If there is something I can do for you I will do it for you, anything at all. I promise."

Katsumi tilted her head slightly, and stared blankly at him as she spoke softly, “There is. You can cut your own arm off...” Katsumi felt like she was in a trance and just stared to study his reaction, not even blinking. Could he honestly do that to himself? He had said he would do anything, he had promised her. But how could he accept this? She couldn’t even do it when she had thought she had ruined his wings.

Katsumi said nothing for a few moments as she watched him. She shook her head lightly though after seeing his reaction, and spoke again, her voice in the same eerie soft tone. She pushed her hair back, staring at the ground, before slowly moving her eyes back up to look at him. “Of course you can’t do that. I just can’t believe you would lie about something so horrible to me...”

Katsumi glared at the angry boy, not holding back her anger in her face as she did so. No one had ever, not ever, lied to her. Especially not her friends back home, which is why she had believed him. She hated liars to the deepest part of her soul. “I hate liars...” Katsumi said allowed in a low harsh voice. She stood up abruptly, and began to walk a few steps away from Midori, turning back to glare ferociously at him once again.

Hriky - October 20, 2008 08:04 PM (GMT)
Midori was dropped and he quickly and gently kicked off from Katsumi's arm and fell to the ground on his feet after a small flip. He didn't do it to show off but so he wouldn't fall onto her lap again. He waited to see if she would say anything at all and she did. He was a bit shocked at this. He promised and he would do it. He really didn't want to and wanted to keep his arm. If he didn't promise he would have never listened to that. He gave her a small surprised expression before looking down at the ground seemingly depressed. He went to pull out his dagger before she shook her head and spoke up again.

He didn't have to do it, he let go of his grip on his dagger and didn't pull it out. He looked back up to her and held her gaze for a moment. She then stood and left him. Was he to follow her or to go on his own? He wanted to go on his own but he had something to say to her first. He meant what he said and was going to get her to know that he was sorry for his lie and she would still go upon that promise if she wanted.

When she turned to look at him he took a few hesitant steps forward. "Once again I like to say that I am sorry. If you will hear me out right now I want to explain myself." he stated quickly and took in a breath before continuing. "I only lied to you because I wanted a reason to never see that jar again, and I didn't think you would go to such lengths. If you were going to cut your arm off I one, wouldn't let you, two make it up to you with a lot more then I already offered for my lie." he said pausing for breath before continuing the next chance he got. "But my offer still stands, anything you want. Just come and find me, I will be able to take care of myself without my wings until they do grow back." he said and smiled at her before turning around. He walked a bit before turning his head to look at her and waved his right arm. "See ya later, Katsumi." he said remembering her name, he didn't stop after that and put his hands in his pockets.
