Erin Shander - October 1, 2008 07:12 PM (GMT)
Not many people was in the library this day since most of them was over at one of the classrooms watching one of the archmages as he was trying out a new kind of spell he had created, most of the time things did not end very like people would have thought...but that was one the reasons why so many went there, to get a really good laugh.

But Erin was not there, she had other things on her mind. The young air genasi slowly walked thought the large chamber with a pile of books in her arms, she walked very slowly so that she would not drop the books and scrolls she had. She whispered lowly to herself. "Okey, take it easy now, one steep at a time" what she did not see was that one of the scrolls feel down from the pile and landed a few meters away from her on the floor, she did not see it until she feelt it under her foot, her last thought was. "oh dear" then she feel backwards with a high scream, and all the books and other texts fallflying around her some of them into other shelfs which made other books fall down. But most of them landed right on her a buried her in magic so to speak.

Everything became silent, but then the pile of books began to move as Erin made her way out from the mess she had created, her face was slightly red and she muttered lowly to herself, she only hoped none had seen her like that....she really was cursed with bad luck.

Thomas Fey - October 1, 2008 07:43 PM (GMT)
Thomas, has heard of the academy of magic a long time ago, before he was ever a vampire, his parents had wanted him to go there, to learn magic, to fulfill their dream,s tom had other plans though. He had been changed soon after, one thing he didn't really want, but look where it got him now. He was a famous vampire rogue, who was almost great at stealing, ad slowly, he hoped to become a master thief. Now today, he walked about in the library at the academy of magic. Eyes looking at the many covers of the books around him.

Today he looked sort of different. His long hair was down like normal, but he wore a black dress like shirt, and black trousers, and his boots that he always wore, so when he walked no one could really hear his footsteps. He continued down the isle of books, nothing seeming to catch his eye, and it was started to get boring.

The he heard something, a scream it sounded, Thomas, happy to finally have something interesting to see, he ran off in the direction of the noise. When he made it, he skidded to a stop, and stared at the huge pile of books, then at the young girl there. A wide smile played across his features as he stared at Erin. He had met the girl in Taras, before it was destroyed.

"Now, Erin, what you get yourself into? Didn't you know you shouldn't play in a pile of books?" He laughed, eyes dancing lightly.

Erin Shander - October 2, 2008 01:46 PM (GMT)
Erin turned around and noticed Thomas standing behind her, she just looked at him for a few second since she at first did not know what she would say...her gaze moved to all the books and then to Thomas again, it looked like she was going to say something but then she changed her mind for some reason and did not. She placed one hand on her cheek for a moment and again her eyes returned to the pile of books. "well I did not really play as you said it" she began and walked over to pick up a scroll from the floor, her eyes examined it for a moment and then she turned towards Thomas again. "I´m just followed by extreme bad luck these days. No these past weeks to be honest, it is like the entire world is against me for some reason I do not know." she sighed and then she placed the scroll on a small table close to her with a slight sigh.

Erin moved some of her hair in behind her ears as she was talking and then she shook her head slightly. "But nice to see you to Thomas, have been a while has it not? Back when Taras was still.....Taras." she noticed that she would start cry again if she stayed on this topic and quickly changed it. "So I am surprised to see you here of all places, never thought you where very into magic to be honest." she smiled at him. The sudden change of subject was a little off but Erin did not really notice it.

Thomas Fey - October 2, 2008 11:35 PM (GMT)
Thomas listened to her speak, and bent down also to pick some books up, and slid them into the shelves, putting them in the right order that they were supposed to be, ones that he didn't know where they went, he set them on the nearby table, and went to take care of some more, when she said bad luck seemed to follow her, Tom hesitated slightly, thinking that he should just get out of here now, but he went back to taking care of the books, but a bit more slowly.

He then stopped, setting a book on the shelf, then turned to Erin, a smiling on his face again. He listened to her speak again and nodded, it had been a while since they had last met. Tom easily noticed how she hesitated then changed the subject.

"So I am surprised to see you here of all places, never thought you where very into magic to be honest."

He then laughed. This was the last place he expected himself to be at too, but he wanted to get a look at this place, and who knows, there might be even some treasures he could snag, but he was a little nervous too, the master of the place wouldn't be happy to find out if a thief and managed to steal under his noise, so Tom would try to keep his hands to himself.

"Yeah... I'm not really, magic is the last thing you'll find me doing. But I wanted to get a glance around here, when I was younger, my parents wanted to send me here, try to become successful." He said, and laughed slightly uneasily. He made sure not to mention that he was hundreds of years old. "Why are you here? Just to study like most 'round here?" He asked causally.

Erin Shander - October 3, 2008 06:32 AM (GMT)
Erin nodded slightly. "I see, well this can be a very strange and mysterious place....somtimes, but other times it is just boring and some of the masters can really make you sleepy just by talking to you about anything....it is not there fault but it is something draining about there voices." ´she smiled slightly as she said this. "Books is not really my thing to be honest, I try to learn my magic in other ways....more practical ways then to sit reading all day." she picked up a book and looked at it, the book had the titel Air spirits and there powers on the cover. Her mind almost right away went to her father that was gone, the reason she even came to this place in the first place.

Erin looked at it for a moment and then she nodded again. "But then again books can be very calming to once mind, but to reply on your question no I´m not here to study today, I came here to get information about the air spirits to help me find my father." she turned her gaze to Thomas and gave him a slight smile. She did not know why she told Thomas this, most likely because she did not like to lie about things to her friends...or anyone else.

Thomas Fey - October 14, 2008 06:48 PM (GMT)
He smiled when Erin said how the masters can make you tired by talking. He knew how that was. He was of a higher birth, the first and only son of his noble father, and he had had many tutors, Tom hated them all, they would drone on, and on, and on, until he was fast asleep on the desk he had used. But that was long ago, but even now, he would most likely fall to sleep if he had to deal with tutors or magic masters. He continued to listen to her. He had picked up another book, and started to flip through the pages as he listened.

He stopped when she mentioned that she wanted the air spirits to help her find her father, and he cocked his head. He always seemed to forget that others still had living parents out there, and he couldn't help but feel jealous about that, he missed his parents, but he learned to not show emotions about that anymore.

He appeared to be out of it for a moment, but when he saw her smile, he gave her a smile in return, then wondered if he should try to pry, before he could stop himself or think about it, he asked.

"What happened to your father? Why do you need to find him." He said, then hesitated slightly.

Erin Shander - October 15, 2008 04:06 PM (GMT)
Erin looked a little surprised about this sudden question, she did not really knows what she would reply to it either. She did not say anything for a moment and it looked like she was thinking the right words. "Well I don´t know what have happened to him" she began with a thoughful voice. "He just dissappeared....and the entier wind temple with him to, he used to live there and I visited him many times during my childhood...I do not know what have happened to him and none of the once I have asked knows anything about him....people that was once his friends does not know who he was...it is as if he never existed." she shook her head slightly and then sighed. "But I know that he is real...he is my father and I do think I would know something like that"

She made another pause to thin about the other question....why did she want to find him? That she had never though of before and of course she had to be honest with Thomas. "Well....I don´t know why I want to find him....I guess it could be beacuse he is the only family I have left since my mother was killed during the..." but she stopped here and took a deep breath, then she removed some hair from her face.

Thomas Fey - October 16, 2008 02:03 AM (GMT)
Thomas listened to her explain, and he thought that was weird, her father being wiped from the memories of others, but they somehow forgot to get Erin's, or maybe whoever took her father wanted her memory to stay. It seemed confusing, he had never had to deal with anything like it before. He stood there puzzling over it a moment, then shook his head slightly, knowing he wouldn't be able to understand why no one remember her father.

"Well....I don´t know why I want to find him....I guess it could be beacuse he is the only family I have left since my mother was killed during the..."

He looked up at Erin, his eyes dimming sadly slightly. He reached over, and rested a comforting hand on the girls shoulder a moment, before returning it to his side. So her mother was killed, and father missing... not like his family at all, his parents died of old age as he stayed nineteen for forever. He had watched in the shadow his cousins and friends pass, and as he families blood lines died away til it was only him. He was said, but he stopped mourning years ago. If he was Erin, he would forget about the father, family was annoying, held you down.

"Well, I'm sure you'll find him eventually. No one can stay missing forever." He said, and smiled reassuringly.

Erin Shander - October 16, 2008 09:01 AM (GMT)
Erin was a little surprised when Thomas placed one hand on her shoulder, but she gave him a friendly smile as he did so. Thomas was very nice to her and she liked him, he was a little odd but she did not know why. But he was a friend and Erin knew that people had to be themselfs. She nodded at his words. "Thanks Thomas, it is very kind of you to say so...but I´m starting to think I´m not suppose to find him."

She shook her head slightly. "But something is very off and I know it is magic....but I do not know anyone or anything that could delete a creature from the world and from peoples memories." she frowned slightly and shook her head again. "But then it might just be me that is wrong...I have nothing to tell that my father was real...it might all just be something I have dreamt, who knows."

Thomas Fey - October 19, 2008 01:21 AM (GMT)
"...but I´m starting to think I´m not suppose to find him."

He cocked his head to the side, and considered that for a moment, it was possible. But he didn't want to say that. He was taken away with the temple of air she said, and maybe whoever took him didn't want others to know, but why did they forget Erin, and he guessed it could be very well possible that her father didn't even ever exist, but that would be cruel to say so. He didn't know what to say now. He glanced the area around them, and noticed a odd looking artifact that gave off a strange glow. He walked towards it. The item looked like a small golden skull, the size of his palm, and it floated a couple inches from its stand.

He reached out a hand, one finger about to touch the odd object, but then sparks flew from the eyes of the artifact, so Tom pulled his hand instantly away, and a sad look seemed to cross his face. To bad, to sell that on a market would get him a lot of gold.

He turned to Erin, smiled slightly, then gestured to the books. "Well, I can always help you to find some clues as to where your father went. I have nothing to do." He said. Though, if he stayed cooped up here to long, he may end up sucking an apprentices blood, even now he felt his eyes change to a dark red, but it was barely noticeable.

Erin Shander - October 19, 2008 09:07 AM (GMT)
Erin looked at him and she followed him with her eyes as he walked over a tried to take the artifact. She frowned slightly but it was nothing uncommon with that since she was in the guild she was after all and the woman was used to things like these. She smiled a little when he failed to take it, but she did not say anything to comment it.

When he said that he could help her she smiled again. "Well thanks for the offer Thomas, that is very noble of you" she said, then it suddenly looked like she remembered something and she quickly walked over to a shelf and picked out a book from there, her eyes scanned it for a moment and then she shook her head and picked out another book, this time she nodded and walked back to Thomas. "I just remembered something that would prove my dad was real Thomas" her voice sounded a little hopeful as she said this and she began to search the book:

Her eyes quickly moved up and down the page, she was frowning slightly. Thomas could see that the title of the book was The history of the air tribe. After a few moment Erin stopped and her eyes widened slightly, she was so surprised that she dropped the book and it feel to the ground but because of the books size the page was still open and one could see as the pages was moving in the fall that they where empty...just blank pages. "Everything about the wind temple of gone she shook her head slightly and then she picked up the book from the floor and brushed some dust of the cover. She looked at Thomas for a moment, she looked confused and it was not hard to see that. But of course Thomas would not know anything since she knew he had not much knowledge of her people...not what she knew anyway.

Thomas Fey - October 19, 2008 07:42 PM (GMT)
"Well thanks for the offer Thomas, that is very noble of you"

He smiled. Noble? He was anything but noble, he was a "rotten" thief as most called him, but he didn't mind insults, and didn't mind being called noble, except for the fact that he is a noble. He watched her as she seemed to remember something, and went in search for a book nearby. He took a step forward, but then stayed where he was as Erin found the book she was looking for. She flipped through the pages, and he stood, waiting, a bit anxious, but he still thought it pointless.

When she looked surprised and drop the book, Tom flinched at the noise of it hitting the floor, then he leaned over, and looked at the complete blank pages. He frowned as he looked at it, then crouched down, his finger touching the page lightly. Well, this seemed to be absolute proof that no one was to find her father, not even her. He stood eye, eying the book wearily.

"Everything about the wind temple of gone "

She picked up the book, and he looked at her confused face. He put on a sad face, it was sad to hear of course, but you couldn't look for ones parents all the time.

"Maybe you should stop looking for him... You could easily get yourself in danger if you continue your search, and it was be terrible if I lost another mortal friend." He said, frowning again slightly. Though he did let it slip a little by saying "mortal friend", which was quite obvious hint that he lived forever.

Erin Shander - October 20, 2008 09:45 PM (GMT)
Erin listened to his odd words, but she did not notice the real fact that he called her mortal...she did not think much of that. The young woman looked at him for a few moment and then she lowered her eyes slightly and looked at the book, it looked like she was going though an inner fight or something and then she turned around and moved her hand to the face as she removed something....most likely tears. Erin then stretched herself into her full length and nodded. "Your right Thomas, if I ever are to be as powerful and brave as Ornell then I need to pull myself together" she said and then she calmly walked over to the open fire on the far side of the room, her eyes move to the book in her hand and then she looked back at Thomas. She gave him a friendly smile and then she threw the book over her shoulder into the fire....and after a few seconds it was gone...devoured by the fire.

Erin returned to Thomas and stretched her back slightly. "and one thing, my spirit heritage makes it impossible for me to really age like normal people, I might look human to you but I am half elemental Thomas" she smiled and gave him a hug. "It is very nice of you to worry about me, thanks" she made a pause and then she let go off him and took a few steeps backwards. "If I ever find my father then that would be nice, and I know I will see him again one day...but I will do as you said and not look for him all the time, I will be able to meet him one day as a different person...a person I can be proud of myself." she moved one hand though her hair as she said this and there was a thoughtful expression in her face and her eyes moved around the chamber. "I have asked around people for information on lady Ornell and I found out she is the leader of something called the burning hand or something...you think I could have a chance if I asked her to....you know....train me?" as she said this her eyes returned to Thomas.

Thomas Fey - October 22, 2008 02:34 AM (GMT)
"Your right Thomas, if I ever are to be as powerful and brave as Ornell then I need to pull myself together"

Thomas watched her, and wondered briefly on who Ornell was, but paid it little attention. The name did sound familiar, but he paid more attention to things on stuff that actually could be sold, or stolen. He watched as she threw the book into the fire. He watched the fire lick the pages, and soon the book was nothing more then ashes, he wondered how much it had cost, but then if the wizards of this place would notice it being gone.

As she made her way towards him again, he watched her calmly, and as she spoke, he listened to her words. When she hugged him, he was a little shocked by that, and didn't know what to do. Most of the time he avoided closer contact, just in case he ended up drinking someones blood without really realizing it. But soon, Erin let go and took a couple steps back. He then shrugged slightly.

"Your the only true friend I've had for a long time, so of course I have to worry." He said, smiling slightly. He was happy that she said she wouldn't spend all her time looking for her father. She may not age like humans, but he didn't age at all, and it would be sad to see her spend her entire life looking for her long lost father.

...you think I could have a chance if I asked her to....you know....train me?"

He considered that a moment, then shrugged lightly. "I don't really know this Ornell, but... if you got along with her, then I'm sure she will. I can't see many people turning a young lady such as you away." Tom said, smirking slightly. He glanced behind him as he heard footsteps, but it appeared to be just an apprentice, getting some books. Though, the person looked at him, clearly not recognizing him, but who would since he did attend here. He looked back Erin a moment, wondering if he could risk telling her that he was a vampire, but right now that didn't matter

Erin Shander - October 22, 2008 08:33 AM (GMT)
"Your the only true friend I've had for a long time, so of course I have to worry."

Erin was a little surprised when she heard this from Thomas, no true friends in a long time? That was a little sad really. "Your very sweet Thomas" she said. She liked Thomas because there was something about him that made it easy for her to talk. Yes he was a thief and a scoundrel but not one of the evil kinds, Erin herself was in a guild mostly occupied by there kinds so she was used to it, it was just a living in these days....one had to do something to survive. But she could not take anything herself of course, she was far to nice for that.

"I don't really know this Ornell, but... if you got along with her, then I'm sure she will. I can't see many people turning a young lady such as you away.

Erin listened to his words as he was talking, she did not say anything for a few moment as she was thinking about what to say. "I think I got along with her pretty well at the battle against the undeads in the desert a while ago" she said and nodded a little. "But I have not seen her in a while now and I really have to find her first before I can ask her anything at all." she smiled slightly at Thomas when she said this. "There I am back to find someone again, but this time it would not be hard since she is well known around the world what I have heard."
The young lady placed one hand on her cheek and a thoughtful expression appeared in her face for a few seconds as she looked at her friend. But before she could say anything she heard the sound of the steps and noticed the apprentice arriving to the room.

Thomas Fey - October 22, 2008 04:19 PM (GMT)
Now he was sweet, no one has said that to him in a long time either, but he didn't mind. Though, there were times when he wasn't sweet, especially when he was forced to kill, or accidently drain someones body of their blood, which seemed to happen often, but he never felt guilty about it really, after all, they were just mortals and were going to die eventually, so he could have done others favors. He pushed those thoughts from his mind, to focus on what Erin was saying.

She fought undead? Probably just the zombie like things, but still, she had experience around them, and he was now little uneasy about the fact if he told her he was undead to live forever. At least this person she spoke of existed. He think he remembered hearing rumors of a woman named Ornell, but he couldn't be sure.

"Somehow, I think this Ornell will be easier to find..." He said, shrugging lightly. He cocked his head again, watching the apprentice move around, then at Erin, and gestured his hand lightly. "Want to go walk... somewhere... all this magic is making my skin crawl." He said, and laughed a little uneasily.

Erin Shander - October 22, 2008 04:55 PM (GMT)
"Want to go walk... somewhere... all this magic is making my skin crawl."

Erin laughed as he said this and then she tilted her head a little to the left. "Sure we can" she said to him. "If you do not like how much magic it is in here then I´m happy we did not meet closer to the area where they practice and develop spells" she grinned at him and then she thoughtfully placed one hand on her cheek. Her eyes stopped at the other young man in the room for a moment, she had seen him before but never really talked to him. But then there where very many people in this building and one could not know all of them.

Erin then looked at Thomas again. "Let us go to the park and get some fresh air" she calmly took Thomas arm and began to walk towards the door out from the chamber. Her eyes moved to a window and she smiled slightly. "I see we will get a new moon this evening. Well no need to worry about werewolf's then." she laughed slightly. It was starting to be close become evening now and to moon was indeed starting to arrive as a new moon.

Thomas Fey - October 22, 2008 05:15 PM (GMT)
He shivered slightly. That wouldn't be good for him, going near where the people practiced magic. It would probably make him feel sick. He was happy that she agreed to a walk. He glanced at the artifacts and stuff a little disappointed for not getting any goods here, but he was sort of happy to not go about, walking with something magical. When she mentioned a park, he smiled slightly. He offered his arm, which she took.

As they walked, Thomas basically let her lead the way, after all, he didn't know this place as well as her.

"I see we will get a new moon this evening. Well no need to worry about werewolf's then."

Thomas laughed heartily then. Werewolves, most came out whenever they want to, but that matters what kind. Even if they did have to worry about werewolves, he was a vampire, he has taken some of those beast on in the past, and could probably defeat one now.

"That wouldn't be good... but its very similar to what I want to tell you." He said, thinking for a moment. "Since I said you were my only friend, which you basically are, unless you count that catlike monster." He shuddered then as he thought of Lynx. "But, I have decided that I shouldn't keep all things a secret..."

"Are you afraid of werewolves and vampires?" He asked calmly, eyes looking straight ahead.

Erin Shander - October 22, 2008 05:30 PM (GMT)
Erin walked as she was listening to his words, what he said first made her very curios...what did he want to tell her? By the sound of his voice it sounded important, she smiled a little when he said she was his only friend, she did not really know what cat he was talking about...but she did not say anything about the matter for now. The young lady was very surprised when he asked her if she was afraid of vampires.

She did not say anything for a while and Thomas could see she was thinking about the question. "Well I have not really meet very many of them to be honest. I have never ever seen a werewolf." she began with a thoughtful voice. "So I could not say I am afraid of them, I did run into an ancient vampire in the ruins of Taras...I say ancient because of his taste in garment, the design was of the kind used in imythess around 500 years ago or so." she made another pause. "He was creepy...but I think that was because he was as old as he was, you know with all that I´m so ancient and powerful, I can charm you into do my biding kind of way. Todays vampires might be different...I don´t know. I might say I hope they are different." she moved her free hand though the hair as she was talking. Then her gaze moved to Thomas. "But why did you ask me that?" she asked with a curious voice and tilted her head a little to the left. Erin did not think about the fact that he could be a vampire at all.

Thomas Fey - October 23, 2008 04:19 AM (GMT)
He listened to her speak, and chuckled lightly when she said she ran into one vampire before, in the ruins and said he dressed in a older style. Many vampire did from the old, but even if Thomas was, he preferred to be up to date with things. He continued to walk, looking ahead, even when she finished speaking. He sort of wished she hadn't. He gathered his thoughts moment, wondering if she will be afraid and try to leave, which would be very depressing to him. But he was slightly surprised that she didn't even seem to think that he was one.

"How would you react... if I told you, I was a vampire?" He asked, his voice seemed a bit more hollow then usual, and his eyes seemed to darken again, but only for a moment, soon his eyes held an almost playful look as he looked at Erin a moment.

He was half afraid of to what her reaction will be, but also sort of looked forward to it. But the fear of her hating him was worse.

Erin Shander - October 23, 2008 08:43 AM (GMT)
Erin raised an eyebrow as he asked his new question as a reply to her question. The young woman looked at him and tilted her head to the side, her gaze moved up and down him for a moment as she examined him carefully, she placed one hand on her cheek in a thoughtful way. "Well it is hard to say how one will react to something like that, you can say on thing but then react in another way when it really happens." she said and lowered her hand.

Her gaze moved so that she was looking Thomas right into the eyes. "I guess I would ask something like....is the thing with the garlic true?" she grinned slightly as she said this. Now she understood where he wanted to come...he was a vampire. It was a slight surprise of course, but when she really took her time to look at him she was not that surprised...it was like she had understood that something was special about him. "So what that a reaction you hope to get or was you afraid I was going to run away screaming?" she laughed as she said this and calmly placed one of her hands on Thomas shoulder as they where walking. "But let me tell you that you would be surprised what kind of things you can see in this building alone, things I would run away from more then a vampire. That I assure you of Thomas"

Thomas Fey - October 27, 2008 08:23 PM (GMT)
He watched her as she lifted her hand to her cheek again, as she thought. He then looked up once more, to the path they were walking, itching to be outside again, and quickly. When she spoke finally, he glanced at her for a mere second before turning his gaze away. He ran his tongue along his top teeth, feeling the two fangs that were barely noticeable right now. Whenever he grows hungry, they get longer and more noticeable, but not now.

He laughed when she basically asked if the garlic thing was true. No, garlic was just garlic, nonsense. "No... the garlic thing isn't true. Though, holy water and stakes are nasty, not to mention silver." He said, shrugging. He carried silver blades with him all the time, though, he was cautious not to hurt himself badly by them.

"So what that a reaction you hope to get or was you afraid I was going to run away screaming?"

He smiled. "I was sort of hoping for both." He said, thinking a moment, then shaking his head lightly in dismissal. When she spoke of seeing things stranger then a vampire, he raised an eyebrow, and was once more glad he never came here when he was younger.

"If that's so, then I don't know if I like the idea of my friend being here really... I've had human friends in the long past, that came here, never heard of them again... guess this place really does change one drastically." Thomas said, frowning a moment. "Anyway, now you know my secret. Unlike many others."

Erin Shander - October 27, 2008 09:27 PM (GMT)
Erin nodded as a respond to his reply about the garlic. "I really though as much actually" she said. "But I know it would work on me, I don´t like it at all" she grinned slightly at Thomas when she said this, they made a turn down another stair and arrived to a small garden. Alice walked out and she took a deep breath and as she did they could feel that the air itself moved oddly around her body. This was a mix of her genasi powers and the fact that she was storm kindler.

Erin nodded again at his other comment but she did not say anything. She could understand how he felt really. All to well.
She laughed slightly at his words and shook her head slightly. "This place can be very creepy sometimes. More now then any other time of the year, with the harvest and everything. You should see how many necromancers and users of other dark arts that is here this time of year." she shivered slightly as she said this.

Thomas Fey - October 30, 2008 02:32 AM (GMT)
He chuckled at her when she replied to the garlic matter. Though, garlic never did anything to him really, but he dispised the smell of it. When they made it out, Tom stopped at the door and let Erin walk out. He watched her closely, and at the air that mooved oddly around her. He tilted his head to the side, and smiled slightly. She was quite lovely in the night, especially with the wind that moved about her.

He finally shifted away from the doorway, letting the magic that had been inside leave him, and took a deep breath, as was a habit, he really didn't have to breath if he didn't want too, it was hard to break habits. It was nice now, no more tingling and pulling at his skin. He would never survive in such a place.

He raised an eyebrow at what she said about necromancers, and look uneasily at the building of the academy. "I don't know if its good for me to hang around here then... being undead and all, they might try to take me under they're control..." He said, the thought to him extremely disturbing, but he doubted one would, he could probably easily slice they're thoat if he wanted too.

"I don't know if its good for me to hang around here then... being undead and all, they might try to take me under they're control..."

Erin laughed as he said this, then she shook her head slightly. "Well I do not know much about undeads or vampires but I do not think that anyone would try and control you for a few good reasons. One, you do not look like anything undeadish and most of the mages here are to old to notice anything" she made a pause and grinned slightly at Thomas before she began to speak again. "and if they are to take you to some experiments they will have to go though me first" she gave the man a light punch on the chest as she said this, then she laughed and shook her head slightly again.

Her gaze moved around the garden for a moment, different kind of trees was growing here and it looked much like a small forest then a garden or park. Erin did not remember that she had ever been here before and she slowly walked over to one of the trees and placed a hand on it. She did not say anything for a while and then she looked back at Thomas, she did not know what she would say to him. "I want to ask you something...you do not have to answer if you feel like it is to personal, I understand if you feel like that, but I have to ask" she made a pause and then she smiled a friendly smile. "How came you became a vampire?" she knew that could be a sensitive subject and she was sure he would not like to reply on it.

He laughed as she said he looked nothing like an undead creature, and that most of the necromancers wouldn't even notice for their old state. He grinned then when she said they would have to go through her first, and he remembered how nice it was to have friends, since he hasn't had any for a long time, til now. Thomas watched her walk to the tree, then looked up to the sky. When she spoke again, he glanced at her, and a curious look flickered through his eyes.

"How came you became a vampire?"

He stayed silent a while. His eyes dimming. He ran a hand through his loose black hair, a sigh escaping from his lips. He dropped down into a crouch, balancing himself easily on his feet. He ran a hand along the blades of grass.

"I never wanted to become what I am... it was so many years ago, it seems so vague. Never, ever, help a lost beautiful lady, that had a ghostly beauty about her... I never once thought she was a vampire, of course, I was a foolish son of a noble, those thoughts never crossed my mind. For my friendly deed, she changed me into a vampire, not asking if its what I wanted. The changing was quite painful, though, not really complicated, I've managed to pull it off a couple times." He said, shrugging. He stood up again, looking at Erin a moment, as he wondered how old he was, he lost count somewhere in the two-hundreds.

Erin Shander - November 1, 2008 11:39 AM (GMT)
Erin listened to him as he was talking, while she listened she picked up a flower from the ground, it had most likely fallen down from one of the trees. She watched it for a moment and then she turned her gaze to Thomas. "I see, well I do not think it is very common that any of the vampires freely became what they are." she dropped the flower and it flew away in the wind created from Erins movement. "Since you have been so honest with me about this I will return the favor and tell you a little something about my family. A part of my familys history that I am not proud of the slightest." she walked over to a bench and sat down, she waited a few second and then she began to talk again. "It was many years ago, before my father meet my mother and I came to the world, it was around 100 years ago and my tribe was very large and well known around Imythess for the air powers and wisdom, at that time they lived in a small city in the middle of the desert. The leader of this tribe was my father Aeron Shander, his powers over the wind was like none had ever seen and there was only one man with greater powers then him...and that was my grandfather. I have never meet him because what happened changed our tribes lives forever. None knows why my grandfather suddenly got such a great interest in the dark arts, but he got it. At first none really noticed anything since he acted normally, he had always been a little to himself so we do not know either how long he had been doing what he did."

Erin made another pause and took a deep breath before she continued her story. "people began to disappear in the desert, that was very common that people lost there way and was never seen again, but along the years the numbers began to grow more and more until people knew something was not right with this. Of course none thought my grandfather would be behind it all since he was the father of there great leader and everything, I think my father noticed that something must have been wrong with his father....but I do not know if it was because of his love to him or something else that made it impossible for him to act on his instincts. It was not until one of my grandfathers experiments escaped out from his hidden lair that everything came into the light. My father and a few of the others quickly made there way to my grandfathers home, father tried to talk reason with him and told him that he could still return to them, his punishment would be lesser if he did. But to these words he only laughed and said that it was to late, he had gotten what he wanted....eternal life, they could destroy his body but would only come back again and again."

Erin shook her head slightly as she said this. "My father had no other choice but to try and capture him by force and a great battle broke out, many of my people was killed that day including my grandfather, but he was not planing to stay dead just like he said....I have no idea how but in some way he was able to come back again a time after, this time he had a great number of undead minions with him. The tribe was unprepared and taken by surprise a very great number of them died in this attack. The elders and my father now understood what my grandfather had done and that they did not have the power to really kill him as it was, but there was something they could do. My father prayed to the air goddess that she would help them and so she did, she and her brother...that times god of magic used there powers to seal away my grandfathers magic powers and without them his army feel apart like nothing. Before he noticed what had happened they captured him, but they did not kill him since they knew that would not stop him from coming back, instead they sealed him away inside the dungeons of the air temple. The evil was gone but many lives had already been lost and in a matter of days the great air tribe had been nothing more then a small group of people...the city was in ruins. That is when the air goddess offered them a place in her temple, a sanctuary for her children."

Erin nodded when she was done and then she looked at Thomas. "He was sealed away at this time of year and only on the black harvest could he be freed again" she smiled slightly and shook her head. "My that sounds like a ghost story"

Thomas Fey - November 2, 2008 08:13 PM (GMT)
Thomas flicked his eyes up, looking at Erin a moment, as she spoke. And she was right, not many chose to become a vampire, before he had known very little about the immortal creatures, but the lady who changed him had explained everything to him. He sighed slightly at the memories, and wondered if he truly regretted that day or was he happy about it? It had changed his life drastically, and to live forever then sounded interested, he was just sad about how he had to watch his friends die around him.

He listened to Erin talk about her families history, and interest drew on him. He walked to the bench and sat down too at the edge of it, a few inches apart from her. He watched the trees as she spoke, thinking over her words as she said them. She had an interesting family history, then he wondered if he should tell her more of his, that his family had been great nobles and the likes, but no, his wasn't as interesting as hers, probably just depressing.

When she finished talking, he contemplated her true story. He tilted his head to look at her when she said it sounded like a ghost story, and smirked slightly, then he looked back to the trees and the wavering of the branches.

"That is very interesting. I've never known someone whose family was like that... I do remember little bits of that happening though, but I was only born in Imythess, I never actually grew up here, so I didn't pay much attention to this place, father said it was always pointless to notice other lands happenings when your own is in turmoil. He said, shrugging lightly.

Erin Shander - November 2, 2008 09:06 PM (GMT)
Erin smiled at him as he was talking. "Well it was a long time ago, but not to long for people to forget about it, with all the elves and others people that can live for so long, and of course there are things who can live mostly forever, like me and you. But one have to take things with a smile." she laughed slightly and then she sighed.

She moved her gaze so that she look at the same place Thomas was looking. "Your father was wise to think like that, you must have had your problems to deal with and around that era I know very much bad things happened in these lands....not only to my people but to others. Erin shook her head slightly. But if you where born in Imythess but not lived here, where did you live?"[/color] she looked back at the vampire with curious eyes. "To be honest with you I have never been out of this land since I was born, I do not even know much about the lands outside of this. I know an uncle from my mothers side left to the sea but he rarely came back and I have not heard from him since I was a child" she tilted her head slightly to the side as she said this, she found Thomas fascinating and she did not care if he was a vampire, she liked him anyway.

Take things with a smile... that was getting harder and harder nowadays, especially for many other people, like those in Taras, must of them were dead, and the others in a small refugee camp. He has seen it once, and it was depressing, and he didn't think those people could ever take anything with a smile ever again, even Tom barely managed to smile sometimes, with all the death that seemed to follow him.

He laughed slightly when she said her father was wise to think that, and he supposed he should have to agree to that, but only a little. His father cared nothing but about the land he lived in and helped govern, anything outside of the land was a waste of time and thought, he was... paranoid about the other lands, but, since he's father cared about the land, he had meant what he said. Tom sighed. At times he missed his family, so terribly, even though its been years since he last saw them, he even forgot they're faces.

He looked at her when she asked where he lived, and looked up again, thinking a moment. "I lived in Suler, a far off land... and grew up in one of the largest noble homes one couldn't even imagine... I can barely do so, its been many years since I've last been there... I heard the manor burned though a few years after my last friend passed of old age." He said, reflecting on his part again. He remembered very clearly how he had always ran down the many staircases in the house being chased by his older brother.

"Your not missing much if you've never left Imythess... here has to be one of the best lands I've ever seen." He said, probably because none of his friends have died yet.

Erin Shander - November 7, 2008 10:46 AM (GMT)
Erin nodded when Thomas was done talking. "I see, well I grew up mostly in the temple of wind before it dissappeared suddenly" she said, she made a slight pause to think about what he said about his last friend dying of old age. But she did not say anything about the matter either since she knew it could be a sensitive topic.

So instead she moved to the last thing he said. "Well If you say so, but I´m sure there are good things about that the land you came from." she smiled at him as she said this. "But to be honest I don´t really have an interest to move around anyway, Imythess is good enough for me. Not sure if it is true that it is the best but it works." she lent back slightly.

Thomas Fey - November 12, 2008 05:03 AM (GMT)
He almost knew what it was like, to have a home vanishing, just like the temple of air did, it had been hers, but disappeared, but of course, Tom had to leave his, if he had stayed, they would have found out what he was and would have burned him at the stake most likely, or decapitate him. He shuddered at the thought of how cruel the land he had come from could be so cruel.

"Well If you say so, but I´m sure there are good things about that the land you came from."

He shrugged slightly. He supposed there was, it had been his home after all, and he had loved the land like he had loved his family even when he had arguments with them, but that was to long ago to exactly remember, those memories were fading.

"I'm hoping I never have to leave Imythess... like you said, its good enough for you, and it seems perfect for me... no one has yet to judge me for what I am here, unlike the other lands that so often does." He said. The land he had been in before coming here and tried so many times to kill him, at first, he had found it fun, avoided all the people, slipping through their clenches, but that had gotten boring fast.

"I'm hoping I never have to leave Imythess... like you said, its good enough for you, and it seems perfect for me... no one has yet to judge me for what I am here, unlike the other lands that so often does."

Erin listened to him and made sure he was done before she began to talk again. "Yes I can imagine how it must have been for you...I do not know about how people look at your kind in other lands, but I guess it is pretty different from here." she shook her head slightly and then she smiled in a friendly way. "Vampires are far from uncommon here after all, I guess we have just been more open to see that your not really monsters" She had never bee hunted like some vampires, so she could never really understand how it was. But she remembered that during a time of her life people pretty much ignored here because of what she was...a air genasi.

Those where some of the hardest years of her life, but it was better now and she was happy for that. Erin imagines that it must be the same for Thomas, that his life had been not very nice before but was better now.
