Title: Guard
Description: [Open]
Iebri - September 27, 2008 02:55 AM (GMT)
Her heeled boots clomped against the cobblestone ground in a march. There were four others in her watch group, the leader in the front, two others a step behind, and Iebri and a man beside her, behind the other two. She kept her arms to her sides, one hand resting lightly on her rapier. She looked almost like any guard would. She wore a plate chest piece, the metal almost as dark as night, and the only metal arm bracers, she had decided not to wear all her armor, there hasn't been much trouble in the past few nights, and didn't think much would happen tonight, if it did it wouldn't matter much to her, she could handle things easily.
Iebri's midnight black hair was pulled back into a tight bun behind her head with small strands falling about her face. Her skin was oddly pale, and in the darkness of the night made her skin look paler. Her steel eyes looked black in the night. Her stride matching the others, but in a bored manner.
Her eyes flicked this way and that as the passed a couple streets, and alleys but nothing took her interest, just the same boring life in the city as always. Iebri took the night shifts, because it was best for her and her vampirism, normally when her shift was over she went hunting, no one knew it was her though, no one dared to suspect her, she seemed to innocent to them.
They made they're way to a guards tower where they often stopped to check in with the others. The the leader guard of her small group turned to her, and gestured down the street.
"Go check out the fifth road, Jarle says he thought he saw something down there but didn't have time to check it out. Could you, Brie? If you need help just call." He said. Iebri nodded, then turned on her heel and started off towards the fifth street. She made it there and walked lazily towards the alley, and stopped at the entrance peering in through the darkness, but saw nothing. As she was turning, something swung towards her, it looked like a bottle. Brie ducked, then reached out, grabbing the mans collar then pushing him against the wall. She stared at the drunkard with piercing eyes, then they narrowed. The man started mumbling, but his ramblings made no sense. Then hunger got her. The man wasn't disgusting like, he had just come from the tavern, probably trying to find his way home.
Before he could make a noise as she grabbed a handful of his hair, and yanked his head back, she bit into his neck. The man, tried to cry out, but the bit numbed him so he was unable to do anything but stand there, letting her suck his blood. She knew no guard patrols would come over here yet, that was a upside for her, she knew the schedules for the patrols, and knew when it was best to eat.
Molegrik - September 29, 2008 07:55 PM (GMT)
Molegrik coulnd't say that he was overly fond of this city. Actually, he wasn't fond of it at all. Of course like every city it had its crime and thieves and corruption, but this pretty little development seemed to be based around those three ideals, and other unpleasant ones as well. But he was hired to go where the caravans went, and apparently there was a merchant who had business here. And Molegrik was destined to go where the money told him, even to a little pit like this. However, he made due. Like tonight, he thought as he walked out of a bar, his head humming pleasantly. A large grin was plastered on his face as he stepped into the night air. The drink here was good, despite the way the rest of the city was. Now all he had to do was make it back to his inn. Unfortunately, Molegrik had chosen an inn that lacked a bar, and had to travel to find one. If he could just remember how...
Taking a left, Molegrik began to wander down an alley way. Thanks to his large stature and metal arm, he rarely had to worry about foot pads or cut throats in the alleys. Which was good, because most of the time he went through them, he was not in any condition to realize the stupidity of the venture. Such was the situation tonight. Turn after turn, alley after alley, the partial golem stumbled along the stones, looking this way and that. Every now and then he would see one of the guards, and he would render a friendly wave, but he did not stick around long enough to receive on in return. Guards never seemed to like him much for some reason. Perhaps it was the fact that they took one look at him from afar, saw a thing partially encased in war like metal, and decided it was better to attack than to reason.
Taking a right at yet another alley, Molegrik halted as he ran into another drunk, one much more inebriated than he was. The man had a bottle in one hand and an idea in his mind that involved swing the bottle at Molegriks head. However, being drunk as he was, and Molegrik still sober enough to see clearly and think semi-so, the glass missed his heads by a wide margin. Chuckling in good humor, Molegrik clamped his metal arm on the mans shoulder and spun him about. "Out into the street with ya," he rumbled, the smile still on his face. One of the guards would no doubt come along and pick him up and lock him away. Might be a little rough with him the way this city was, but it would be better than the man killin some innocent person. Giving him a shove, he watched the man go stumbling towards the street, bottle waving about wildly. Almost into the face of a guard who rounded the corner. Molegrik smiled the wider at how the situation had turned out. Now the guar....
Molegriks eyes went wide, and his buzz vanished as he saw the guard wrench the mans head back and sink her fangs into the mans throat. "By th damned," he whispered. Vampires? On the city guard? In close vicinity to him, something in the back of his mind yelled. Taking a step backwards, he rolled his left shoulder, feeling the weight of the magic forged iron. He might be needin that arm in a second or two. Taking a deep breath, he called out to the guard. "Little rough dontcha think? I mean, rippin a mans throat out just cause ya need a little sum'm ta drink?"

"Little rough dontcha think? I mean, rippin a mans throat out just cause ya need a little sum'm ta drink?"
Iebri gasped in surprise and pulled quickly away from the drunken man, and accidentily ripped his throat worse. She would have let him go on his way when she was done feeding, no one would have believed the man, well, she supposed she couldn't be sure of that, but she had never had to deal with getting caught before. She let the drunkard fall to the ground, who now had blood pouring from his neck. Iebri was annoyed to see fresh blood wasted like that. She turned to face the taller and much larger man before her. She lifted a gloved hand and wiped it across her mouth so it wasn't stained with blood.
She narrowed her eyes unsure how to react to this. Being caught was not a nice thing, in her long years, whenever she was caught she would have to kill that person too, but she was bit unsure with this one. He looked stronger, but then, vampires had increased speed and strength normally, but she had the pit of doubt in her gut.
After a moment, she regained her normal posture then, standing up taller instead of slouching, and rested one hand lightly on her rapier. She glanced down at the man who wasn't moving anymore, and thought of how it was a pity, then looked back at the large man took a step forward, gesturing to the unmoving drunk.
"He had it coming, one day or another. Life just got unlucky for him tonight." She said a bit of sympathy edging into her eyes, but then they went back to a hard steely gaze, and small smirk slipped onto her face, as she took another cautious step forward. "I could let you walk away, but... you witnessed something you shouldn't." She sighed, looking sad again for a moment. She shook her head lightly. "Such a shame." She mumbled softly.
Molegrik - September 30, 2008 11:48 PM (GMT)
Molegrik jumped a bit when the vampire ripped out the man's throat entirely. Apparently she was a jumpy one. Somehow, the idea of him making her nervous didn't make him feel any better though. It actually sank his spirits further. Vampires were fast and strong enough without being jittery. One who was nervous might lash out without warning. A voice in the back of his mind pointed out the prudence of finding an inn that included a pub on the first level. Next time, he decided, he was doing that.
"He had it coming, one day or another. Life just got unlucky for him tonight. I could let you walk away, but... you witnessed something you shouldn't. Such a shame."
Molegrik shifted his own stance as the vampiress readied her self and took a step forward. Turning his body slightly, he positioned his metal appendage in between him and the undead woman, flexing the fingers. She would probably attack quick and hard, and while Molegrik wasn't the fastest man on earth, there was no doubt that he could rank among the hardest.
"Tis a shame to be true," he said in agreeance to the lady. "Such a perty thing like yerself, runnin amok, rippin the gullets out of innocent drunk men." He paused a moment. "Well, more likely more drunk than innocent, but ye get me drift. And bein amongst the guards too. A shame to be true missy." He grinned ain a good humored manner, a little apologetic as well. He hoped he was hiding his nervousness well enough.
Iebri - October 6, 2008 01:20 AM (GMT)
She smiled at the man as he spoke, her eyes lighting up then, as her hand went to her rapier and unhooked the clip that kept it from falling out, her hand wrapping around the hilt, and she pulled it a inch out of the scabbard. She calmed herself to, so she wasn't so surprised, it was just the shock of rarely being caught, and the huge size of the man, he looked quite intimidating from her perspective.
"Well, I'm guessing you'd most likely tell my friends what I am, so I hope you don't mind, but I'll have to kill you too. Last thing I need is to be turned in." She said, shaking her head slightly. She pulled her sword out the whole way, and pointed the sword at him. "Lets hurry this up before a patrol makes its way here." She said almost impatiently. Then without warning, she attacked.
She jumped forward, and her rapier lunging forward. As she moved, she seemed faster then a normal being, and a grin slipped over her face. This should be fun, but if she lost, then she would lose her spot in the guard, and she'd be killed, or banished, both were pretty bad. But right now, she just had to concentrate on killing this fool who appeared at the wrong time.
Molegrik - October 13, 2008 01:40 AM (GMT)
"Oh no," responded Molegrik. "Please lets wait for them. Don't really want t AAACK!" he yelled as she lunged. On instinct he swatted at her sword with his metal arm, sending it stabbing in a direction that wasn't near his gut. Cursing himself for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, he skipped backwards, giving himself some room. He was not good in closed spaces when it came to fighting due to his bulk. Staying here would give the lady attacking him an advantage he did not want her to have. He stepped out into a cross section where another alley met this one and formed an area more suited to him.
His metal arm still forward, edged to his left, eyes on the guard lady. "You know, you don't have to fight me. You could runaway because I'm so much bigger and meaner...or we could assume that for the sake of you running away. Just to save a fight...watdoya say?" Molegrik was still waiting for another attack, on his toes.
((Super short, I appologise))

The large man hit her sword away with his strange arm, and jumped back, and she let him, though, she didn't quite want him out in the streets, but she couldn't do anything to stop him. Now would be good to have one of her friends help her and take him down, one of her vampire friends of course. Then he spoke, saying she could runaway, and Iebri laughed.
"What?! Runaway and leave the city that has been my home since before I was changed? No thank you. This place will always have me here. Now the only way for this to continue to be my home is to get rid of you. I doubt someone like you could keep a secret like this away from the guards. Your aura reeks of good." She said, and wrinkled her nose in disgust. She then attacked again.
She took a wide step forward, then slashed her sword from the ground and up diagonally towards the larger mans chest.
Molegrik - October 25, 2008 01:40 AM (GMT)
Well, he thought to himself, he had treid to avoid the conflict. But apparently this woman, aside from being kind to the eyes and the kind who would rip out your throat, liked to fight. Sighing, he prepared himself mentally. Fighting wasn't something hard for him. He was actually rather good at it, being fast for his size. he didn't like it though. But...sometimes you just have to bust out a tooth,or the entire mouthful. Setting his face, he waited for the attack. When it came, he was ready for it.
His steel arm followed the sword upward, grabbing the underside. With the woman's arm up like this, her ability to resist him physically would be lessened. Therefore, hand hold the sword, he stepped forward and pulled the sword upwards, further than her arm could reach at that moment, and towards himself. His human hand reached forward, grasping for her shoulder.
"Remember," he whispered, more to himself than to her, "I honestly tried to avoid this."
